Where To Eat & Drink In St. Louis

"Housed in a former downtown brothel from the 1840s, Broadway Oyster Bar is the kind of place you go to in the early afternoon and end up spending the next 12 hours at. It feels like a little slice of New Orleans right in the middle of downtown, with a big patio and a menu that includes crawfish, po’boys, and jambalaya. They also stay open until 1:30am every night, which means you can still get oysters and wings until 11pm on the weekends when those two things suddenly sound like the right move." - jen maylack

"Broadway Oyster Bar wears many hats. First and foremost, it’s an oyster bar, serving bivalves in a variety of fashions, from raw and char-grilled to fried and Rockefeller style. It’s also a solid bar, where a lot of folks come to party both before and after Cardinals games. Finally, it’s one of the finest music venues in St. Louis—or at least the most fun—with live shows twice a day, save for Fridays when one act plays the whole night. Expect local and national bands, plus a lot of New Orleans artists, playing anything from bluegrass to rock and reggae. Between all the eating, drinking, and music, take some time to learn the history of BOB. It’s housed in a building from the 1840s—one of the oldest in the city that’s still in use—that has served as a boardinghouse, Chinese laundry, record store, and bordello over the years. Naturally, it’s said to be haunted."

Google
Unbelievable food and portions!! Found this place accidentally while visiting the St. Louis Arch and hands down the best lunch I've ever had. The Oysters were epic, the Creole flavors were scrumptious.. and the portions are HUGE!!! We sat outside and enjoyed the day.. I cant imagine the energy this place must have when there is packed house and live music...enjoy! Note: Really easy to get to from the freeway - plus the cheapest gas in town is just down the street...absolutely worth a lunch stop!

Google
So let’s start off by saying this place is amazing. Make reservations if you can if not come anyway. The drinks are good and strong. The food amazing. Kelly was amazing ask for her and get recommendations from her as well!!! We didn’t have reservations but they still got us in. Again a must try, when I’m back in town again I will definitely be back!!! Just know the shrimp and grit is actually a grit cake but omg it is delicious!!!

Google
I am glad I accidentally found this place. If you are in St. Louis stop by. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cool. I would recommend the oysters and the catfish poboy. In particular get it voodoo style. I was here during a Cardinals game so parking was a bit tough but in general I would assume it's not too much of an issue. The gentleman next to me says that he comes there all the time and I see why.

This place is legendary.. it’s been around for a while and is a prime example of “don’t judge the book by its cover” BOB is a fun spot for live music and drinks.. but the real star here is their incredible Cajun style food! I’ve been coming here a lot over the years and every time my meal is incredible, no matter what I order. The serving sizes are large with delicious sides and the seafood is always fresh, perfectly cooked, with amazing flavour and sauces. This is one of my favorite spots to eat in STL. If you’re downtown, do yourself a favour and go to Broadway Oyster Bar..

We made reservations for standard seating for a late Sunday night dinner. The hostess wasn't sure about finding us a seat. Thankfully, they did have one table left. There were no seats left for outdoor seating. The service was quick to get food out, and the staff wasn't the friendliest, but they were attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend the Voodoo shrimp with the Cajun coleslaw. We also got the sampler platter, which had their gumbo, jambalaya, Etouffee, and red beans and rice. All of which were good. Also, we tried the Cajun tequila wings, which didn't remind me of Cajun or tequila. It tasted just like a basic mild sauce, but were cooked perfectly and did taste good. Would recommend for their atmosphere and the voodoo shrimp.

Google
Went here with my family to watch live music perfomance... the food was good and pricey. the place is cozy. the server is very attentive. the only thing we don't like is the toilet, both male and female toilet are strongly smelled pee. I hope they do something about it.

Google
The food was nice. A bit pricey. Didn't care for the muffaletta with the St. Louis twist. Not enough olive spread. The experience and menu and flavors and the ick level (condition) are consistent with French Quarter dinning.

Google
Loved the chargrilled oysters and the voodoo tacos. Jambalaya was loaded with meat. Fries were impressively great. The only thing we didn't LOVE was the shrimp grinder, and it was still good, just a little underwhelming!

Yelp
So happy we found this place! The restaurant side is nestled right next to the bar side with live music, so when we first walked in we were at the wrong side, but the staff was super friendly and helpful. Our waitress was awesome and helped make recommendations for our trip, which was nice. My friend and I ordered a few items to share, and it was all so good! We got the fried brussel sprouts, the mussels, and the sampler platter, which had jambalaya, gumbo, étouffée and red beans and rice. We also added a half bucket of crawfish at the end because we didn't want to feel left out - every table had crawfish so we had to try! The brussel sprouts were good and had a nice flavor (although they hold a lot of heat so watch out when you first bite into it), and came with a Cajun ranch. The mussels were delicious, with a sauce that was nice and light. The sampler platter offered a nice variety to try a lot of their specialties, but if I came back I'd definitely get the étouffée and the jambalaya! The crawfish was good too with nice Cajun flavors , although the bottom gets pretty salty since that's where all of the flavor goes so maybe give it a good toss when you're halfway through. Last but not least.. the bread pudding! Oh my god. The waitress wasn't lying when she said it was the best thing on their menu! We were so full we asked to have it packed to go, but I couldn't resist when it came out nice and warm, I had to try it while we were there. It was so soft and gooey and perfectly sweet. I will definitely be missing those flavors back at home! Definitely make sure to add this to your list of places to eat when visiting St. Louis!

Yelp
Atmosphere rocks (literally, with a variety of music and bands) and the food matches. You're going to a legendary place with the word Bar and Oysters in it, so, know this--it's going to be fun, eclectic, with great music, pretty good food--and a very diverse group of customers. The food hits it home every time with some of the best Cajun around. Outstanding grinders, po boys, oysters made in lots of ways, and good jambalaya. Try the alligator cheesecake, the shrimp voodoo tacos, and if you've got room--the bread pudding. Outside on the patio is big fun. Really, it's big fun inside or out, so take a big group and enjoy.

Yelp
This review is for ppl who want to come here and don't eat oysters. You can still find something on the menu, no worries. I had the chicken wings and ahi tuna fajita entree - both were really tasty. Service was pleasant. The interior is very casual and they have live music. Note: there is a parking lot across the street.
google avatar

Yelp
Forever an stl staple! I was going to The Garage for an event; and since this is right across the street it made sense to grab some food before. I made a reservation day of and spots were almost gone, so highly encourage making one! We were seated on the heated patio at a table for 4. I love their patio and love that it's accessible in the colder months. I wasn't starving so I got an app, the crab dip. It was good! Really rich and came with pita bread. Good selection of drinks as well.

Yelp
Let me start by saying there aren't enough stars in the world to give Broadway Oyster Bar. The next time I'm in St.Louis this will be my first stop and my final stop before leaving the city. Broadway Oyster Bar will take you by surprise, this small whole in the wall has some of the best food I've had in my life. Serving New Orleans inspired dishes, packed with flavor, Broadway Oyster Bar deserves every last award they have on the wall and then some. Everyone working at Broadway Oyster Bar is pleasant. After a certain time in the evening, they charge a cover and you can come in and dance to the music of the live band. I have no specific dish to brag about because every single dish was my favorite. Happy eating !

Yelp
We came here for lunch on a nice day and sat on the patio. It was surprisingly crowded for a weekday but we were able to be seated right away. I love the atmosphere of broadway oyster bar, it's super chill and laid back. We got alligator bites as an appetizer which were perfectly fried and had a yummy sauce for dipping. I got the voodoo shrimp po boy for may meal and it was so good. The sauce the shrimp is in is to die for. You got a great amount of shrimp, it was a very filling meal. The parmesan fries as my side were good as well. My husband got the gumbo and unfortunately it came out cold so he was a bit disappointed. Our service wasn't great. She wasn't super friendly and was very bad about refilling our drinks. But as I said, the patio was pretty busy when we were there.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
Great spot for seafood, though I'm not personally a big fan of the jumbalaya. The sampler was great to get a taste of the four top dishes and I loved them for the most part, though it was a bit large for one person to finish. The shrimp and grits was also great, and I usually can't deal with the texture of grits, but the fried grits were amazing with the creamy sauce. Service was a bit of a wait given that there was a big crowd that evening, but the crowds and live music were great vibes.

Yelp
Broadway Oyster Bar is the place I recommend to everyone visiting St Louis. It's truly a hidden gem. The food here is amazing, especially the voodoo shrimp tacos! Their drinks are also a hit. You can't go wrong with what you order! I love the atmosphere especially around games days, even though it gets busy! Everyone I've recommended this place to asks to go back every time they come to town!

Yelp
Funky offbeat live music and Cajun food. Should I be going to a restaurant that serves raw oysters that is 1500 miles away from the Gulf of Mexico? Yes I should! Oysters a dozen ways, shrimp six ways, crawfish, crab cakes and soft shell crab!! Not keen on the alligator, but yes to muffuletta, red beans and rice, jambalaya and shrimp and grits. And if someone in your party is allergic to seafood, they do have steak and a couple of pastas that can be served sans. It is always crazy busy, but the servers seem to keep apace. Head out to the funky patio!

Yelp
A band that we like (Grooveliner) was playing at Broadway Oyster Bar last Saturday night. They were not starting until 9pm so we decided to eat at home since this is pretty late for us to eat. The problem is that B.O.B doesn't really have any place to sit or stand (except for a few bar seats and some limited standing around the bar or near the stage) unless you are having dinner. Open seating doesn't start until 11pm. Why would you have a band playing in your dinner area that requires a separate cover as well even if you are eating there? It just didn't make any sense to me. Grooveliner was great but won't be coming to B.O.B just to see a band again. (And $9 for a draft Yuengling was a bit high as well). Friends that ate there before the show said the food was fantastic though!
google avatar

Bethany C.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner as recommended by a local. Excellent menu choices and variety. Top notch service. Bushelhead Cider draft, fish tacos based on server recommendation. Red beans and rice was the best I've ever had - including New Orleans. Fun place to hear live music and enjoy more of a local scene.
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
I came for the second time. This time, there was no rain and the music was LIVE. We got to sit outside. The service was fantastic once again! & The band that was playing was Amazing!

Yelp
Man. I sometimes forget about BOB but then it dawns on me again that St. Louis has an awesome spot to get all your seafood dreams met. The shrimp voodoo po' boy is absolutely a stunning masterpiece. So simple and yet so delicious. That thick slice of tomato just sets off those spicy crispy shrimps in that soft pillowy cloud bread. Just a delight. Run down here and get you some

Yelp
I'm a foodie and this is a top 5 for me. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Been here several times and tried almost everything. It looks like you are walking in a bar on the outside. Don't let it fool you. It's phenomenal.

Yelp
After a long day downtown visiting the Gateway Arch, my friends and I stopped by Broadway Oyster Bar for dinner. Since there was a Cardinals home game that evening, the place seemed really empty and we were seated right away outside on the patio. Between my party of four, we ordered the alligator cheesecake to share, along with two oyster medleys -- two each of the baked Bienville, Rockefeller and Cardinale oysters, and two sampler platters -- one cup each of our Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice and Etouffee. The oysters dish was tasty, but make no mistake, you're not really eating oysters: the oysters are completely overwhelmed by the sauces smothered on top of them. If you enjoy cheese, you'll definitely enjoy the baked oysters. Be very careful biting into the cheese though. In all three oysters that I ate, there were small shell fragments I had to carefully spit out. Overall, my favorite items were the oysters and the alligator cheesecake. The alligator cheesecake is definitely more like a meaty quiche than a traditional cheesecake. I honestly think it was named such mostly to pique the interest of tourists and get them to order the dish. Needless to say this tactic worked! For the sampler platter, my favorite item was the etouffee. My least favorite item was probably the morsels of chicken scattered throughout each of the items. The chicken is definitely top three for driest chicken I've ever had. I wish there were more types of hot sauces available because the bottles of Franks and Crystal on the table were not hot at all. I point this out because there's a warning on the menu of how spicy the food can be and there was no heat in anything we ordered. Decent spot for dinner, though a bit on the expensive side.

Yelp
Cajun in St.Louis, Broadway Oyster bar has you covered! While in town for the Drake concert, a buddy suggested trying this establishment. As a smaller restaurant, you could tell it's a fan favorite from the wait-times. Due to the lengthy wait, we opted for the bar top. Our service was proper, drinks were stiff, and grub was on point! The chargrilled oyster were meaty, my po-boy was hefty in size .. overall the food and atmosphere were superb! Honestly speaking, I was skeptical about Cajun food in St. Louis however Broadway Oyster put my doubt to rest. If you're in the STL area searching for some good Cajun cooking, Broadway Oyster bar has you covered.

Yelp
If you want to be transported to NOLA from the Midwest then this is the place to be. From the outside to the inside, it screams New Orleans. We had a reservation but did not need one since it was not packed at all. We came on a Friday afternoon and were seated immediately. We ordered a few apps to share just to get an idea of the menu. The charbroiled oysters were absolutely perfect. They come with a slice of lemon and a slice of bread. I could probably eat about five slices of that bread to be honest. It's super soft but has the slightest crunch to it which pairs really well with the oysters. The fried gator was alright. A bit salty and slightly overcooked. It did have a nice little spicy kick to it with a nice breading. But I will not be ordering that again. The garlic fries were also good. Fresh garlic and Parmesan was used. You get a huge amount of fries, definitely enough to share. All and all, I'll be back for the charbroiled oysters.

Yelp
A long overdue review of this establishment. Every time I'm in the 314 on business, I make sure I find the time to swing by this incredible seafood/jazz music joint. They constantly have live music, which is great, but I come here for their incredible food. My favorite is the Crawfish Mona....it will literally change your life. They serve generous amounts of crawfish meat mixed with some delicious pasta and just soak it in their special butter sauce. The cooked crawfish tastes fresh and incredibly delicious and that seafood butter sauce is so good, that as it gets absorbed by your taste buds, you instantly wanna experience that same taste sensation again and your arm movements holding the fork start getting faster and faster. Some minutes later, the whole plate is gone and you're one happy camper wanting to scream "Holy Crap that was Good"! Crawfish Mona- one incredible dish and I will always stop by for more whenever I'm in St. Louis!
google avatar

Courtney O.

Yelp
The food was fairly good, not quite New Orleans, but pretty good (recently moved from NOLA). The service was not the best, but I will say maybe because it was slightly busy. Either way, I have been to far better restaurants when considering service AND good food, but if the focus is solely on good food that will have you full, check them out, but tip range is definitely 10% it does not seem like they are likely to earn 20% to 50% unless you just want to give it.
google avatar

Sheila S.

Yelp
I ordered the $30 sampler platter and all 3 dishes are mixed in be container: jambalaya, crawfish etoufee, and red beans and rice! I also asked to swap my cornbread muffins for garlic toast which was a $.25 price difference if i ordered it ala carte. Why would you not just charge me .25 ? I written request was ignored. I spent $130 for this order!

Yelp
Special - crab stuffed swordfish, crabby oysters, fried alligator, bread pudding. All a 11/10
google avatar

Yelp
We ended up sitting at the bar in the beer garden because the wait was long. We had great service at the bar. The atmosphere was fun and the food was decent.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
There is live music and the vibes are really fun in there. Was very lively for a Monday night. I had the shrimp voodoo appetizer. They were flavored well and I liked the slaw. I also had the crawfish Mona. Very good and they give a lot of sauce. Bread pudding was also very good
google avatar

Kimber R.

Yelp
We made a reservation, and while it wasn't super busy, I'm glad we did for our party of 6. We were seated right away, outside in the corner. There was loud live music, but we were far away enough that we could chat, but still enjoy what was going on. Our server was just attentive enough. Drinks were never empty, but she wasn't hovering. The food was really tasty! My son is a shrimp and grits snob after living in the south for a few years, and he said these were probably the best he's ever had. He pretty much licked the plate clean! I got the sampler and enjoyed getting to try a little bit of everything!

Yelp
You like oysters? You're in St Louis? Btoadway Oyster Bar is fantastic!! Great selection of oysters prepared different ways from raw to Rockefeller! Great service. Located in an old house with a lot of character. Full bar and plenty of other entrees for those that don't appreciate oysters. Expect 30 dollars / head for a nice lunch. 40-50/head for nice dinner. Worth every penny.

Yelp
My wife and I ate here on a Friday afternoon for lunch on their covered patio. We ate pretty around, around 1130am, so there wasn't a band yet and there was not a cover fee. We were seated immediately and our server was pretty on top of things despite being fairly packed to capacity. The place is by nature a loud environment, but it wasn't so loud we couldn't have a great conversation just the same. For an appetizer, we ordered the alligator bites. They were crunchy, delicious, and the sauce is excellent. For entrees, my wife got the shrimp voodoo poboy and it was absolutely to die for! The sauce is unique but in the best way possible. It also comes with ample amount of shrimp, so you get your moneys worth. The fries were also great! I ordered the gumbo, which wasn't the greatest unfortunately. The gumbo was pretty cold when served. Nonetheless, it came with a hearty amount of shrimp and meat! All and all we really enjoyed dining here. We highly recommend coming soon for some drinks, great food, and always a good time!

Jodi M.

Yelp
Great service! Let me say we are seafood snobs from the coast. So mid states this is good quality in my opinion. Obviously, not Crawfish season so I shouldn't have ordered it. Had a very muddy flavor. Good amount of heat. Several should have been pulled out as they were clearly dead prior. Not sure if these are even fresh with the muddy flavor to them, but sizes are small because not in season obviously. Boiled shrimp not deveined. (We are from south TX so used to good seafood that's deveined already and clean shuck) Oysters had great flavor but again not in season so very small, but they did pile other ingredients on. Several had shells in the mixture of ingredients. Not really a great place for little ones with very limited menu. Tenders were awesome! We will definitely be back during season. Prices are fair and customer service was great!
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Worst Poboy. Bread was terrible, shrimp were tiny and covered with a nasty coating, they used the top of the tomato and added arugula which was weird and not good. Never again. Ordered pick up.
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
This is a perfectly unpretentious STL style restaurant that I have wanted to try. It has a "dive bar" vibe, live music. There is no official kids' menu but if you ask the server, they will tell you the options. Kids went with buttered pasta and grilled cheese. There is bar seating, a large table for group of 5+ and other smaller tables. Must check out the unique bathrooms!!! Now the important bit: FOOD! Everything was so good. Jambalaya and gumbo had great flavors and spicy. Crab cakes looked good although hubby said they were a little fishy. Fried alligator with sauce -- BOMB!!! I just recently had alligator for the first time ever but these were delicious. Chargrilled oyster soooo gooooood! And lastly, shrimp and grits. I have never had it so nothing to compare to. But the grits were in a deep fried triangle in the middle with lots of Parmesan on top smothered in cheesy sauce. Wow!!! So good! Very rich though and I had to take leftovers home. Overall, great experience and would recommend it to friends for sure.

Yelp
This restaurant/bar is right down the street from Busch Stadium. It has a New Orleans flair to it. This place has a huge dining area with a huge bar. There is also a nice sized patio area with a full bar with seating and a stage where they host live music. The entire space is eclectically decorated with signs, stickers and other odd items. This place has a lot of personality. Beware if you go to the bathroom though. It is very small. It reminded me of a bathroom on a boat or RV. Their menu has items such as: alligator, crab cakes, shrimp & grits. red, beans, and rice, crawfish étouffée, fish tacos, po'boys, jambalaya, wings and of course, as the name implies, many varieties of oysters. Additionally, they have a full bar with some signature cocktails. They have a decent happy hour that runs weekdays from open to 4PM that gives you a dollar off select drinks. A lot of items caught my eye on the menu but ultimately decided to go with the oyster po'boy with fries. I had to get a Tchoupitoulas Tea to wash my food down. It took them about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was not New Orleans quality but good for St Louis seafood, if that makes sense. The drink was good too. Nothing to make a special trip to get though. It was a ton of food. I could not finish it all and had to take about half of it home The staff there was friendly and nice. This place is pretty chill and low key during the day and booming at night when they have live music. There is metered street parking out front and within a reasonable walking distance. I enjoyed my time at the bar, I sat on the patio where they had a low key band playing. It was a very chill vibe. My food was ok and the service was good.

Yelp
Let's just start i love this treasure. I'm always here and love the vibe. Food, atmosphere, and service from Luke my server was amazing. Will be talking about this great place in STL

Yelp
I forgot how much I love this place. It has been a while with all the great established restaurants and new places to try in St. Louis, but this really is a gem. No wonder why it is my friend Emmanuel's favorite restaurant in the city.

Yelp
Staff: They were very nice especially our server who was named Carley if I'm not mistaken. She took care of our large group. Orders were all correct, drinks were refilled, and we were well taken care of. Quality/Quantity: Good food for sure and with good size portions. We ordered a ton of different things given our large group. Overall: Though I don't eat oysters there are plenty of other options. Highly recommend this place and would return. Pro Tip: They will not do separate tabs unless you sit and order at the bar.

Yelp
I was initially disappointed to learn that Broadway Oyster Bar no longer serves crab legs year-round. However, my experience was redeemed by a fantastic server who suggested several seafood options. Ultimately, I opted for the shrimp tacos paired with Parmesan garlic fries, which were incredibly delicious. The atmosphere at Broadway Oyster Bar is vibrant and fun, with live music often playing, making it a must-visit spot. Sitting on the patio is highly recommended, and their diverse selection of cocktails adds to the enjoyment of the experience.

I always enjoy eating the oysters. Have great service. The atmosphere is great.Next time I want raw oysters.

Yelp
BoB Funky good vibe Urban cardinals greasy menu kinda place in a post apocalyptic setting. Music on the patio. The BoB marches on. Parking across or on the street. Pleasant, matter of fact waiter, no push on this or that. Yay. We're here . We're not leaving. The salad , two sad pink tomatoes, the remoulade dressing saves the day. No complaints across the table. Shrimp boil hot no heads. Ketchup, horseradish, lemon brought a tear to my eye ma darlin' , that's what! Perfect. Cup of jambalaya, a little moist and sweet and delicious. The gumbo ok Hey Nonny don't mess this place up !! I've been in and out of here 25 years. Get an experienced hand in there to keep a watchful eye on things. I would recommend a cup of gumbo and a cup jambalaya just to get things goin.
google avatar

Yelp
The food at the Oyster bar is always amazing and the drinks are perfect. Parking can get a little tricky if it's a baseball game going on that particular day. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is looking for some good oysters.

Yelp
My hubby and I visited St. Louis for a day and searched high and low for a decent restaurant near our hotel. I noticed on Yelp that Broadway Oyster Bar had great ratings, so we decided to give it a try. This location is not too far from the Cardinals stadium. You just have to cross under the highway to access it. Upon entry, we noticed that the majority of the restaurant was situated outside; however, it was 80% covered overhead. I thought we were seated inside until I looked up and noticed that it was open; hence, the reason I noticed a bunch of flies. You'll also notice a creole, New Orleans theme inside. We were promptly seated without reservations. Someone brought us water once we were seated and the menu as well. Our waitress, Kelly, then came over and greeted us and asked what we wanted to start with. We opted for grilled oysters . They were delicious. 5/5. I wanted to order more, but I was ready for some food. We went ahead and put our entree orders in. My hubby ordered fried shrimp and parmesan fries. I ordered the crawfish, a cup of Dennis' Red Beans & Rice, and a cup of Uncle Charlie's Creole Jambalaya. Regarding my order, the crawfish was ok. I was hoping they would be more juicy and flavorful like the crawfish in New Orleans. I guess it is hard to mimic New Orleans when you are further inland. Overall, I give the crawfish a 3/5. The red beans and rice were pretty good. I would give them a 4/5. The jambalaya was good. It earned a solid 4/5 as well. My hubby really enjoyed the fried shrimp. He ate them all. He rated them a 5/5. He did not like the fries. They came out cold and greasy. He rated them a 2/5. Kelly's service was amazing and she came back to check on us often. She also recommended some great food options and combinations. Overall, she receives a 5/5 for great customer service. Overall, I would definitely recommend Broadway Oyster Bar. Just be aware that everything is spicy, including their cornbread. The menu even includes a warning about the spiciness of their food. It wasn't too spicy for me though, so the average person should not have a problem tolerating the spice level. You can also ask for more spice if you desire that. My overall rating of Broadway Oyster Bar is a 4/5.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. Today, I got the Oyster's Medley. I'm not a huge fan of crawfish so I didn't love that particular one (CARDINALE) but the other two were pretty good. Especially, the ROCKEFELLER! I also got the special "Voodoo Fried Chicken Sandwich" with the Cajun fries. The voodoo sauce wasn't terribly spicy but the sandwich was hugeee! I cut it in half and was able to finish. Service was great! The ambiance gives me family and soul vibes. Old school R&B was playing which was a great touch! It was decorated like NOLA. Coming back again in the future for sure.

Yelp
Apparently this is one of the St. Louis staples! We came on a Monday afternoon for lunch, it wasn't packed at first but people started rolling in. The inside of the restaurant wasn't open; only the patio was available. Thankfully the patio had heating as it was a slightly cold day. The inside and patio is older looking but definitely gives a NOLA feel. There were only 2 servers, and one of them was also the bartender, however, they were able to make good use of their time as the food came out fairly quickly and our waitress was able to check on us often. The shrimp po boy with voodoo sauce is just what i needed! The wings were also really good.

Yelp
The first meal I had in St. Louis and I've been back since. The first time I went, I tried the chargrilled oysters and the shrimp voodoo tacos. The oysters were good and a great appetizer. The tacos were delicious! Perfectly seasoned and the shrimp were fried perfectly. It is spicy but complements the shrimp. The second time I went, I ordered the clam chowder and the shrimp and grits. Both were absolutely delicious! The chowder came with a side of cornbread and the shrimp and grits was so creamy -- the grits are fried into little patties. The shrimp was cooked perfectly as well. Good vibes, good drinks, and good food!

Yelp
The customer service was great, and I love my Cajun fries .... BUT the catfish Po'Boy was HORRIBLE the fish tasted dirty. I couldn't even eat my sandwich waste of money.

Yelp
We went here for lunch the other day. It was taste of Soulard, so our food took a bit to come out but that's to be expected. Delicious food, friendly service!

Yelp
Everything about the Broadway Oyster Bar is excellent. The food, the service and the ambiance (especially outside) is outstanding. We went during lunch during the week and there was plenty of meter (paid) parking. We picked out our table and glasses of water instantly appeared. I already knew what I wanted but after looking over the menu, the Gioia's hot salami muffuletta sandwich caught my eye. I got the quarter size sandwich. I ordered that with garlic parmigiana fries. I was a little disappointed in my muffuletta. Although it was good, I could have used more olives on it. He got the crawfish enchiladas. It came with a side of of pico de gallo and he ordered jambalaya with it. Both of our meals were were delicious and we each had some to take home for lunch the next day. Would I come back here? You know I will. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Yelp
I did a to go order on a busy Saturday night for two bread puddings and the lovely hostess was able to have them ready in about 15 minutes. There was a Cardinals game so there was no parking I had to circle the block and park while waiting. The bread pudding was SO good! It was warm, moist and soft. I could taste the alcohol in the icing which paired nicely with the delicious dessert. Definitely give this place a try and visit their new updated decor. Recommended.

Yelp
O-M-G! This place is legit amazing! First things first, make a reservation and be there on time! We didn't have a reservation and waited a bit for a table but this place was packed and the front of the house was serious about their reservations. After my friend and I were seated we ordered the Gator cheesecake and lobster pasta. We were so shocked with how delicious the gator was. It is made to order and it does look like a cheesecake. Don't worry, it was made with Gouda, shrimp and gator. My friend and I are are wusses when it comes to spice but we managed to devour the whole thing. The Lobster Pasta was velvety and the lobster was cooked perfectly. Again, everything has a little kick so make sure to have some antacids with you. Our server was amazing as she was friendly and honest about what we should get. OH! Knowing I might have some heartburn, I ordered a ginger ale and they make it in-house! It's PERFECT. If I'm ever back in St. Louis, I'm making a reservation ASAP!

Yelp
Cool little joint. Food was great. Loved the Crawfish Mona and the seasoned fries are amazing. Service was ok. Don't like that they won't split a ticket. Location is just South of the Ballpark. Will definitely be back.
