The 29 Best Restaurants in Kingston, Jamaica | Eater

"Mediterranean vibes abound at this rooftop restaurant, where chef Damion Stewart’s fresh approach to food makes a welcome addition to the Kingston culinary scene. Small plates include ahi tuna bruschetta with a Scotch bonnet kick; sweet and smoky pork belly with the quintessential crunch; and pesto flatbread topped with fragrant buttery escargot, spicy chorizo, and mozzarella. Larger plates showcase specialties from the land and sea, including standouts like the curry goat pasta, deliciously tender lamb shank, and the Broken Burger infused with subtle flavors of pesto contrasted with sharp cheddar. Craft cocktails also feature local flavors, like the lychee mule, a take on the caipirinha with fresh mango and gin, and a riff on the Long Island iced tea that features local ginger beer." - Leisha Wong

I recently visited Broken Plate in Jamaica, and I have to say, the atmosphere was fantastic. I loved the setting—it was vibrant, welcoming, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. For starters, I had the Oxtail Wonton, which was absolutely delicious. The oxtail was tender and full of flavor, and honestly, I wanted more. It was a great way to start the meal. For dinner, I chose the Curried Goat Pasta, and it was excellent. Every bite was packed with the rich flavor of curry goat, and the pasta paired perfectly with it. You could truly taste the care put into the dish. The service really stood out. My server was friendly, polite, and answered all of my questions with a smile, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The bartender was also great—he helped me select drinks and made sure they had a good alcohol portion. For dessert, I had their Egg Nog with Whiskey, which was smooth and satisfying. I also tried their Ice Cream with Fruitcake, and it was a unique and tasty treat. Overall, Broken Plate exceeded my expectations. I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Jamaica!

I can't complain about the food it was pretty good, service was also excellent, servers were attentive. The nighttime inside layout was dark set, with enough mood lighting. Thr majority of tables were for two do with that information what you'd like, outside is obviously a different vibe but definitely for larger groups

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. Firstly, I must say that the ambiance is great; you almost forget that the restaurant is located within a plaza because of how well they have worked on creating an upscale ambiance, especially if you sit inside. The service was also great, not perfect, however, no complaints about the overall service. I had the Curried Goat Pasta; it was a little spicy but I think it was delicious. Their cocktails are a little pricey, but I like them; the Brew-Jito is a favorite of mine. I will recommend it; I will visit again.

4.5/5 really good restaurant for unique dishes. I had the salmon tostones, oxtail wonton, and curried goat pasta for around 11000 jmd. The restaurant is extremely overpriced but the dishes were fantastic, tasted great. The oxtail wontons were the best out of the 3 I had. Tender meat and tasty. The curried goat pasta was super as well since the pasta was like how fresh pasta tastes and the ragu was tasty and plenty of meat . The salmon tostones were average . Overall, one of the better restaurants in Jamaica but one that is significantly overpriced. If you have the money, come. Would recommend!

This place has been on my list for some time and I finally got to visit! It was definitely a great experience. I got seated outside, where the view was calming and the food more enjoyable. The evening was a bit chilly, but once that alcohol hit, I completely forgot about the breeze. The drinks were tasty and I like the fact that I could actually taste the alcohol and it wasn't watered down. The food was perfect! I ordered the shrimp pasta and I was definitely not disappointed! The shrimp tacos were filled with a lot of different flavors and the chicken breast lollipops definitely was different in a good way! The service was great and our server made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The prices were a bit expensive, but with the taste and quantity, it was definitely worth it.

My husband and I celebrated our third year's anniversary. Broken Plate was our choice to fine dine and it surpassed our expectations. We had an awesome time and everything was A1 from the ambiance to the customer service not to mention the quality of the food, the presentation, and the taste was unmatched; we had the salmon tostones, duck fried rice, pork chops with mashed potatoes and salad, lychee lemonade, and the drink with the red peppers on the rim, *chef kiss*! Our hostess was Dahlia and she did an amazing job alongside Amanda. Big up all the chefs and special shoutout to chef Channer who stopped by to chat with us for a bit after we paid our compliments. That played a vital role in creating this beautiful experience for my husband and I. Broken Plate is a definite recommendation and we are looking forward to our next visit; eagerly anticipating..

It was a wonderful experience. I got to try curry goat pasta and oxtail wonton for the first time, and they were delicious. It exceeded my expectations. The tiramisu pancake had too much coffee. It was as if the cover of the coffee container fell off and too much came out. We had to scrape off the excess. The inside seating area was a bit smaller than expected. However, the layout was good, and the tables were not too close together. Also, the music was barely audible, so we were able to have a conversation and hear each other clearly. Overall, it was a good experience.
