Had the pleasure of experiencing the special valentines menu at Broma this year. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I must say it was an amazing dine. The atmosphere was wonderful. We were seated comfortably, enjoying the ambiance next to the fireplace. The service and friendliness of the staff made me feel welcomed and special. The tasting menu was five stars. Each dish left my mouth more excited for the next. Elegant dining at its best. Thank you, Broma, for such a wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back.

My friends and I came here for a Thursday dinner. They easily accommodated us even though we didn't have reservations. We sat at the Emerald Bar before sitting down for dinner at Broma. The ambiance really nice and the staff was friendly.

Lovely place. A bit noisy. Food was interesting (antelope dumplings) and nicely presented. The mushroom pie was very good and so was the basque cheesecake with Meyer lemon compote. Would definitely come again.

Broma Restaurant is an absolute gem! I recently DJ'd a private event there on a Friday evening, and I was blown away. The venue is perfect for this type of gathering – intimate yet spacious enough for a good party. The exotic food menu was a definite highlight, with so many delicious and unique options. And the cocktails? Amazing! They were expertly crafted and added a special touch to the evening. But the best part was the ambiance. It was just right for creating a fun, energetic vibe, perfect for dancing and celebrating. Highly recommend Brian Restaurant for any private event – you won't be disappointed!

Google
Fantastic little dining spot. We had a nice intimate table for six people and we were never wanting for anything except more delicious food. All the dishes were amazing and we just wish that we had enough steak to go around the table for six people. We had the tasting menu and were completely full before the final two dishes came out and dessert. It was weird that for our party of six we had two of every dish, except for when the steak came out and there’s only one steak. That was the one dish we could’ve really used two of. The chocolate mousse you can also see look like someone took a bite out of it instead of just being the whole plate. Overall, it was a wonderful menu and a wonderful tasting and we would definitely come back, but probably stick to the muscles and the steak.

Yelp
Tucked inside the swanky Shashi hotel behind Emerald Hour bar is this CA Spanish fusion restaurant. Presentation, service, and ambiance were great. Food was unique and had fun flavors and textures but everything was overly salty I drank a gallon of water with dinner. We started off with the Spanish Artichokes which had a delightful crunch. The baby octopus dish had calabrian fried lupini beans which were a hit. The duck empanada had an interesting cherry mole that was too sweet and picklely combined with too salty. The Catalan Fideua was tasty with perfectly cooked seafood but could use a crispier undercarriage. Plenty of free hotel or street parking.

Yelp
Was staying at the hotel in which this restaurant belongs to, and decided to dine here for the convenience as there aren't too many other dinner options nearby, or would require a bit of a drive to get to. It was rather quiet and empty on a Monday night, and so we were seated promptly. My partner and I ordered the wagyu tartare, paella, and flan for dessert. I can't in all honesty say that I recommend these dishes. I felt like each fell short of the price it was set at. The tartare wasn't anything special or notable--portion was a bit small, traditionally flavored with mustard, capers, and served with an egg yolk brushed sesame cracker that didn't hold its crisp well, and went soggy because of the egg yolk. Paella was a bit odd to me--I haven't had a paella made with pasta noodles before, but wasn't a fan of the texture or the flavoring/seasoning--it was very sweet and bland. The shrimps in this paella were good though! I wish there was just more flavor, acidity, depth, umami to the dish as a whole. Flan was dense and almost chewy? I haven't had this texture in flan before. The caramel was very bitter. Service was great though--servers were friendly and quick to change out silverware and plates in between the courses.

Yelp
Tried Broma since I was staying at Shashi hotel and they gave a meal credit. The service was excellent and I hate only giving it 3 stars but the food was just not our taste. Broma is set as Spanish tapas so we had the hamachi crudo small plate which was our favorite plate, though very spicy! We also had the hand formed Cavatelli (large plate) which we didn't like. It didn't have any flavor and we couldn't finish it despite us splitting the dish. For dessert, we had the salted caramel chocolate tart which was good but super rich, thank goodness we split that! We also ordered the flan but it tasted really weird and too strong of orange so we couldn't take more than 2 bites each. All in all, I really appreciate the service and they were really accommodating when they saw we weren't liking the dishes. But I probably won't be back to Broma.

Yelp
Cute ambiance for a catch-up or date. Spanish fusion with tapas, charcuterie and some mains. We ordered the beef tartare, chicken croquettes, tokyo turnips. As a whole the tapas we ordered were good, however each dish seemed to be skewed and not balanced harmoniously. My favorite was probably the chicken croquettes. The turnips and beef tartare both were too salty and the textures didn't mesh well together. As many other reviewers have echoed about the food similarly the service however was wonderful.

Yelp
Nice comfortable outdoor space that is pup friendly. Service was meh, took forever to get them to bring us our check - maybe because we were sitting outside vs inside. Food was decent, a tad pricy, drinks were decent. Feels more like a place for work related event vs intimate friends gathering. Total came to approx $80/person.

Yelp
A true hidden gem in the neighborhoods. They charge the same price as many other restaurants in peninsula / south bay that appear to be chique mid-to-high-end, but their creation, execution and quality of ingredients stand out by a long mile. We come here every couple months, the menu keeps rotating with seasonal ingredients and new ideas of the chefs', and never disappoint. Cocktails are great too with pleasantly surprising elements. The two of us came to Broma last Thursday without a reservation and got seated right away at a sizable table right by the fireplace. I don't get why this place isn't packed all the time. I selfishly hope it stays that way Photos are from a few visits over the last year or two.

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and made a reservation online through their website. Broma is located on the first floor of a hotel and there was plenty of street parking, as well as parking inside the structure. I was excited to try out Broma because I read that the chef is Michelin-starred and the food prices were reasonable considering the caliber of experience. To share, we ordered pan con tomate, spicy arbol shrimp, and pitchers of the lychee sangria. My absolute favorite dish was the pan con tomate. The combination of the tart tomato, smooth olive oil, and fattiness from the bacon was absolute perfection! So so soooooo delicious and simple! For our entrees, my boyfriend and I decided to just go with the tapas and ordered the chicken croquetas and serrano charcuterie board, which were both solid. We also got the fideua negra, similar to a paella, to share with everyone and I thought this was just okay. The pasta/grain had a texture I didn't expect - it was so chewy that it tasted undercooked. The service was amazing and everyone was super friendly and helpful. I had brought a cake and they offered to put it in the fridge for us to keep chilled. All in all, nice spot for tapas and delicious drinks! They have a full bar but I was perfectly content with my lychee sangria.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner and were very disappointed. I do want to mention that the service was excellent, and our disappointment was purely with the food. I also want to mention that our menu varied significantly from what we saw online. Perhaps this was because we went on a weekday, but we were going here with the intention of ordering a handful of tapas & dishes, and there was hardly anything to choose from. With that said, here is what we ordered: G&T - 3/5 all I could taste was gin and tonic, and none of the additional flavours mentioned on the menu. I did not enjoy this but perhaps others will. Paloma - 3/5 This tasted alright. There was a pretty strong alcohol flavour, so nothing else was memorable Redondo Iglesias Serrano Charcuterie - 1/5 Generous serving of the Serrano, but the accompanying charcuterie items were laughable, and honestly kind of embarrassing. This looked like it was prepared by a 5 year old who picked up random items from an empty pantry. Pan con Tomate - 5/5 This was our favourite order of the evening. The serving size was generous, the bread was nicely toasted and the the tomato flavour was all there. Octopus Salad - 3/5 The flavours here were interesting but not really that exciting. There was a nice variety of texture and flavour but I wouldn't order this again. The few pieces of octopus in the dish were nicely cooked. Ceviche - 2/5 This tasted like sashimi placed in a bowl of lime juice. Now, sashimi is never a bad thing, but when you're expecting ceviche, it's disappointing. This was prepared with hardly any salt and there was very little depth of flavour here as well. Overall, the food did not do it for us and we likely won't be coming back, which is disappointing because we were really hoping to make this our reoccurring anniversary spot.

Yelp
Located inside the Sashi Hotel, we had to ask the lobby crew where the restaurant was as for some reason, I only saw an Emerald Hour sign outside the doors coming in from the parking structure. We actually came in here last November for a family dinner upon the recommendation of my daughter and her boyfriend. Our party of four was sat near the cozy fireplace which was perfect on a cold Santa Clara county autumn night. Upon perusing the menu, I found out that this wasn't your regular resto-bar with the swanky environment and the Michelin guide price range. The menu had Spanish and Portuguese tapas and entrees. They do have options for the Broma Experience $95/person (family style tasting menu minimum of two) and wine pairing $70/person but we opted to grab a pitcher of Sangria and order the hot and cold tapas Tapas we had. Pan con Tomate (sourdough & tomato sauce), Croquetas De Pollo Y Manchego (chicken fitters), Camarones a la Diabla (fried shrimp in garlic butter chili), Calamares Rellenos (squid filled with octopus and pork chorizo), Redondo Iglesias Jamon de Serrano (dry cured Spanish ham). We finished our dinner with Budin de Pan (bread pudding) and Crema Catalana (creme brulee). Our overall experience was excellent but the bill was probably the factor that considers this a one and done.

Yelp
California Sea Bass Conservas 2 太面, not the juicy seabass texture, lemony sauce Spanish Octopus 2 luke warm, tough, not juicy, not flavorful Sherry Braised Pork Shank 4 huge, fall off the bone, tender, juicy, not too greasy, creamy sauce, flavorful Cream Catalana 3 crème brûlée, mixed berries, not too sweet

Yelp
Easy parking in the structure. Great cozy ambience. Favorites were sardine toast and almonds and fish croquettes (texture was like crab cake and liked them more than the jamon croquettes). Food temperature was uncomfortable. Thankful that staff replaced our order of fish croquettes when we told them the center was still cold. First time having oyster rockefellers that were raw (crust on top was warm). Most dishes were lukewarm. Cool to try out, but would not recommend or revisit.

Yelp
3 stars for fun, Spanish hotel restaurant food. Overall too pricey, yummy apps, and very bad desserts. Fave still goes out to Teleferic, for higher quality, better variety. * Mussels ($23) - 3.5 stars: Fine, nothing special. * Pan con Tomate ($8.50) - 2.5 stars: Tomato on bread - a good one is great, this one was not. * Scallop Crudo ($28) - 5 stars: Scallops were so fresh, the sauce was drool-worthy. It came with 3 tiny slices, I literally could put all of them in my mouth at once. * Castro y Gonzalez Iberico ($52) - 2.5 stars: Not only was this not anything special, but it was so expensive, and came in a tiny portion. Docking 0.5 stars for the price. * Spicy Arbol Shrimp ($30) - 5 stars: Ordered 2x of these because these were SO GOOD! The flavor was addictive and the shrimp was so big, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Pricey for the size though. * Broccolini ($12) - 4 stars: Good... standard? * NY Strip Steak ($42) - 3 stars: Way. Too. Rare. So chewy. I did enjoy the accoutrements, potatoes, romesco.... * Basque Cheesecake - So bad. Hard. Just nothing redeeming. * Chocolate Mousse - I guess it was fine, it was pretty sweet and I would not order again. * Apple pie - I thought it couldn't get worse, and I had this.

Yelp
Broma was renamed from Emerald Hour and is a bar/restaurant in the hotel lobby. It's a pretty and classy but small area. The service was absolutely wonderful. We go out to 'nice' restaurants quite a bit, but I was definitely in a bit of a sticker shock when I saw the menu. The bread was $8.50! and I mean it wasn't necessarily mind-blowing compared to free bread. I was annoyed that for not being free it was served lukewarm... at least toast it if I have to pay for it! Normally I get myself a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon- but goodness gracious it was $26 for a glass. I don't even buy myself bottles that expensive (unless I'm tipsy shopping at a winery...) The waiter was friendly about letting me try a couple alternatives and I ended up enjoying my glass of Mencia ($17) Entrees: Green Lentils & Spring Vegetables $28: My husband wasn't ecstatic that this is what I wanted to order, but I proved him wrong since it was deeelicious. The green lentils were a tasty base and the carrots and broccolini were good as well. I thought the polenta cake was a bit dry and too firm though. Whole Dorada Fish $55: I forgot to take a picture since I was distracted by the eyeballs that my kids actually ate... they say eating them makes you smart! It was smaller than I thought it'd be, but enough for the 4 of us to share. It was tender, but I must say I've had way juicier whole fish at Chinese restaurants... Anyway, overall we had fun, enjoyed the food, grateful for the service, but our meal wasn't really worth $175 in my opinion so we won't be back.

Yelp
The food is fantastic, and the service is good, they will be very actively serve you water, drinks and ask what you need, the only thing may be a little bit great is they will not be so active after your bill sent to you, plus the gratuity or service fee is mandatory to be 20%, so you really do not have a choice to have a say. The environment is great, too. It is in a hotel with swimming pool view, so pretty neat.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with my friend last May and was blown away by the classic ambiance, beautiful dishes, and excellent service! This restaurant is located within the Sashi Hotel Mountain View and is also connected to a very classy bar called The Emerald Hour. The space is clean, elegant, and has lots of windows to view the hotel's extravagant pool area. There is also a beautiful outdoor dining area with a fire pit. This location has an open kitchen concept so guests can peak into the kitchen through a large window to watch the chefs prepare the delicious food. I started off with the "Not Just Another Tiki" Cocktail. This drink was cute, fruity, a little sweet and definitely refreshing! Broma serves Spanish tapas style, so my friend and I shared a bit of everything. We ordered the Croquetas de Pollo e Manchego and the Shishito Peppers. The Croquetas were crispy on the outside and the inside was hot, cheesy, and soft. I really enjoyed this dish! The roasted shishito peppers were vibrant green and were a little smoky and spicy from the fire red harissa. This wasn't my favorite dish, but it was very pretty. We split the Shrimp Picante and the Portuguese Sardine. These dishes were amazing! Drizzled with crispy chili oil, the gulf shrimp was plump, sweet, juicy, and had a little heat. Served atop slices of crispy baguette and topped with sofrito, the sardines were soft, flakey, and tender. With a happy belly, we enjoyed the massive Sherry Braised Pork Shank. When our server brought out this dish my friend and I were in awe! Larger than my fist, the pork shank was served upon a bed of Yukon gold potatoes and topped with chimichurri sauce. The pork was fall-off-the-bone tender and very flavorful. Lastly, we ended our meal with Spanish cream filled pastries called Miguelitos. Dusted with powdered sugar, these flaky pastries were piped with smooth and refreshing lemon pastry cream. A perfect way to end a filling meal! Although it's been many months since I've a dined here, this meal left a big impression. Even if this location changed some of the dishes I described above, I am excited to come back here when the weather gets warmer so I can try more dishes-- this time near their outdoor firepit!

Sam G.

Yelp
Simply disappointed that they automatically add a 20% tip of a party of 4. This really just means no real effort is made by the staff to earn it. Felt like we got mediocre service to be honest and still had to dish out 20%. As far the food goes. It was good and fresh. Everything kinda lacked a bit of flavor but that is subjective to our taste. I would not come back for this place. Simply because it was nothing to remember and there are better tapas places in the area.

Yelp
Came here yesterday night on a Sunday night and really surprised how this was tucked into Google campus! Good: - Each dish was great! Loved the meatballs and the potatoes and the croquette with meat as well - The chicken dish was also similarly flavorful and the beans were surprisingly tasty! - Food also came out really quick - Good date ambiance Bad: - Portion sizes were small for the price point - Overall pretty light service Overall this place was yummy but overall wasn't super mind blowing.

Yelp
Went into Emerald Hour for some cocktails, and ended up staying for dinner at Broma! Have been eyeing the menu at Broma for a while already and was always intrigued by their bellota as croquetas! Drinks were terrific and descriptions on menu were very informative. Really recommend getting the orange creamsicle gin fizz. Really delicious drink indeed. As for food, we had: -Chicken croquetas: perfectly round croquetas filled with slightly spicy chicken, pretty tasty flavor, and perfect for 1 bite 4/5pts -Broma signature salad: fresh salad with olives, orange, serrano ham 4/5pts Grilled Shrimp: super tasty grilled shrimp, lots of shrimp head butter, grilled so well the legs were crunchy and edible. served on bed of beans and 'bacon', green onions 5/5 -Asparagus: perfectly grilled thick asparagus spears served with hard boiled egg, almond slivers, microgreens, cranberry mole 5/5 -Whole dorada fish: expertly roasted whole fish with herbs and lemon 5/5 -Squid Ink Pasta with chicken leg: squid ink spaghetti broken up into smaller managable pieces served on paella pan with a succulent chicken leg 5/5 -Basque cheesecake: a small but mighty cheesecake with berry jam to finish off the meal 5/5 Definitely a filling meal, but really great value and didn't mind taking home what we couldn't finish and still great for lunch the next day! Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes soon!

Yelp
Our visit to Broma in Mountain View was an absolute delight! We ordered the croquettes, artichokes and spicy shrimp to start, all of which were delectable. The cocktails (Paloma and their spin on the Gin and Tonic called G&T, were spot on and perfectly refreshing for a warm day). Next up, we had salmon, bass, short ribs and chicken entrees, all of which were a testament to the rich, flavorful culinary traditions of Spain . The short ribs melted effortlessly in the mouth and the chicken was tender and expertly seasoned over a bed of squid ink pasta, showcasing the chefs' prowess with both simple and complex flavors. We finished the night with their delectable basque cheese cake. The flavors of the night were perfect with not a dish too salty or too sweet, enabling our palates to taste all the fine nuance and intention of the chef. The ambiance at Broma is both down-to-earth and elegant, making it a perfect spot for a casual yet sophisticated dining experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming, enhancing our meal with their attentive service. Never once did we feel unwelcome with a 4 year old and 1 year old, which unfortunately can be the case in some nicer establishments. For those looking to savor authentic Spanish cuisine with a modern twist, Broma is a must-visit in Mountain View. Their menu, inspired by the diverse regions of Spain and Portugal, makes every dish a culinary adventure worth experiencing. I loved Chef Gallagher at Chez TJ and while it's an entirely different cuisine and experience, he did not fail to impress.

Yelp
We saw the menu here and figured it'd be a good time for a date night. We had trouble finding the entrance being that it's inside of a hotel and there is no sign of the restaurant. there are 2 doors in the dining area that are not useful to enter or exit. You must go inside the main hotel entrance and the host is right there to your right along with the bar area. The decor was sleek and modern, a wonderful setting for big or small groups and of course an intimate table for two. The first of many small issues we had was the ever changing menu. I came with the notion that there would be duck being that it was on the online menu as well as open table menu. Strike one but still opportunity to hit it out the park.. they didn't do that unfortunately but I can say the service was just as good as any other fine dining establishment. I went ahead and got the ribeye and my love interest got the dorada fish plate. The fish was cooked perfectly and the bulgar side was also impressive when you didn't get a glob of the white cream mixed in. I ordered a medium ribeye and got what seemed closer to medium well.. an honest mistake and I wouldn't bet my life that I could pull off a medium every time either so I am understanding. However, I still had a tough time chewing on the steak and felt my jaw was gonna be sore the next day. The seasoning was around 65% satisfaction so it wasn't bad but it didn't make up for the overall steak. The lack of sides available didn't necessarily help their cause either. The grilled octopus was memorable in the sense that it didn't hold up to what my expectations would be. The bread was really good especially with the oil and salt. Fthe spanish creme Brule had a lemon like aftertaste which I had no issues with but for those expecting different, it's something you might want to be aware of beforehand. All in all I'd say this place can be hit or miss and the price isn't something I'd feel comfortable suggesting just in case it's a miss for your experience. I'm no stranger to spending way more on food for two than this but I still expect the experience to match the prices. We left full and still happy with the experience. Again, the service was great and I wish this place nothing but the best, I just don't see myself giving them another try unless I know for sure the menu is perfectly aligned with what I want to eat that day; sides included.

Yelp
We had a quick meal tonight - four dishes- all great. Place is nice, swanky, and in a modern silicon valley hotel. Filled with tech types and people enjoying themselves. A pool is on the patio. Life is good in Mountain View when you can pop into a place and get really good tapas. Pricey, but really good. Thanks!

Jason A.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice. Service is great. I have to say that the food is quite overpriced though and the menu doesn't have too many options.

Channing M.

Yelp
Made reservations for a nice work dinner and loved this place. The food was excellent, very reminiscent of tapas in Barcelona. The quality of the food was great. The octopus was wonderful which can usually be overdone. The ambiance was absolutely lovely. The service was excellent. Would absolutely recommend this for anyone coming in town for a dinner for anyone staying at the hotel or for a nice team dinner for work.

Yelp
Verdict service is 5/5. Environment 5/5 Cocktails 5/5 too strong !!! You will get your money's worth. Outdoor seating very cold and windy even with heater 3/5 Dishes: the best are duck, steak and octopus 5/5 Other dishes are 3/5. Skip and duck mousse and bread in oil. Bread is stale and So dry! Portion: good for me, I am 100lbs. All other adults get your burger first before you come. Why you want to be here? Great place to chat! And watch hotel guests swimming.

Yelp
We came here for a special occasion and wanted to try a new restaurant. This is located inside Shashi hotel which is a new 5 star hotel. Food was overall 4/5: - Octopus (5/5) - Signature salad (4/5) oranges, grapefruit, cashews,Spanish ham - fish entree (4/5) dorada pipirrana - pork cheeks and clams (4/5) - basque cheesecake (4/5) - carrot cake (3/5) - paloma (4/5) nice light alcoholic drink Service was excellent. They changed plates 3 times. Also, we were surprised to get the carrot cake on the house because we marked on the reservation that it was a special occasion. Very nice of them! Ambience is 5/5 mostly until loud crowd came in toward the end of our dinner. We sat close to the fireplace and tables are pretty far apart. Very modern and sleek restaurant. It seems like their menu changes often. I will come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
This place has a really nice atmosphere. The hotel looks modern and trendy, and the bar has many interesting cocktails to offer. A couple odd things - we were seated outside with a bench on one side. The bench was too low for the table, so I felt a bit like a child sitting lower than the people on the other side of the table and having to reach up to the table. The outdoor seating is also right next to the pool which was very much being used by hotel guests, and the rooms looked down at the seating area as well. I really enjoyed the food and drinks. The portions are small compared to standard American restaurants (which usually serve way too much), but I thought the plates were perfectly portioned for me. while it is definitely priced as a "treat" meal, it was a nice place to hang out and enjoy. Dorada - the fish was excellent, really crispy and delicious. The bulgur was also very flavorful with a nice little cucumber salad on top. Burger was very juicy, almost too juicy as the bun got pretty soggy. It comes with mashed potatoes which are very luxurious. Skirt steak - the server warned us that it does not come with any sides, so we were prepared that is was just the skirt steak. I am not sure why they wouldn't include something with it.

Yelp
This seems to be a new restaurant inside the Shashi Hotel. 4 star seems a bit over rated based on our experience but 3 star is also unfair. So here's what we like and not like: Like: 1. Parking is hassle free and it's inside a garage 2. Ambience is nice, not too crowded on Sunday evening. Outdoor seating with heat is available outside of the pool. Indoor seating is comfortable. 3. Menu is interesting and seems to change quite frequently. There are dishes you don't see much, especially vegetarian dishes. The Dorada fish was seared perfectly with skin crispy and meat fresh and soft, not a second degree overdone. The duck came from nice cuts and the pieces were done just right without any overcooking. Some pulled meat mixed with white rice added extra flavor and texture to the dish. 4. The best portion to price ratio are the dessert dishes. The only entrée that we think the size is satisfying to an adult is the burger. 5. Good bus service. We got non-stop water refill, very happy with that. Not like: 1. Because it's a restaurant inside the hotel, the clienteles can vary significantly. We've had a screaming baby at the back of the room the whole time, probably guests from the hotel. 2. The menu is too complicated to understand. For a moment I thought I got an non-English menu. 3. The price may be a tad too high compared to the portions. The portions are like kid meal size in most dishes. Also, a 20% tip is automatically added to the bill. Then tax is calculated on top, just so to be aware.

Hotel Dining There have been a smattering of modern luxury hotels opening on the Peninsula including the Ameswell, The Park James, Hotel Citrine, Nobu Hotel and now the Shashi Hotel As business and leisure travel slowly ramps up, these hotels may be preparing for an increase in visitors locally but also have covered their bases with new bars and restaurant offerings for locals We stopped by Broma, the newest restaurant at the Shashi Hotel. The chef formerly headed Michelin star Chez TJ and now has opened this Spanish Portuguese spot that offers both prix fixe and a la carte options We stopped by for drinks and small bites and found an elevated ambiance with tasty entrees and refreshing drinks We especially loved the desserts and the oysters were ultra fresh Market Oysters $24 ~ half dozen, mignonette, cocktail sauce / Alentejo Pork Cheeks and Clams $32 ~ tahini, tzatiki, herb oil / Pistachio Tartlet $14 ~ pistachio praline, ginger, cardamon Broma (Mountain View, CA) Broma has both indoor and outdoor dining by the pool and accepts credit cards including AmEx

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Spanish food, so I immediately reserved a visit when I saw a new one pop up. It's new, so not crowded yet. The staff were all friendly and the place is beautifully decorated. We went ala carte because what we wanted weren't on the fixed one. Liked: oysters, shishito peppers, duck mousse (a bit interesting with the strawberry jam, but I didn't hate it) Loved: hamachi crudo Could've done without: strip loin, green lentils Presentation is 10/10! Wasn't as blown away by the entrees unfortunately, but maybe the other ones are better. Overall still excited to see a new place pop up and will definitely come back in the future, but maybe just for drinks and snack.

Yelp
It is very satisfying experience at this modern vibe restaurant. The food quality is fantastic and the service is attentive. I have to say I love the octopus and asparagus dish the most. The source and the mix of greens works so well with the asparagus. The octopus is cooked to perfect. The wagyu special is delicious but I can skip this if having tight budget. Love the food, and no need to wait in line of Terefonica any more.

Yelp
Broma is a great dinner spot whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just want somewhere fun to eat. If you're a picky eater like me, you're bound to find something here. The ambiance is fun, unique and it has cool vibes to it. All staff are very attentive to everyone at the table. They take time to explain things on the menu or answer any question you have. We got the prime rib and burger and it was magnificent. Appetizers we had gotten the croquettes and bread and olive oil. It's definitely a fun place that I would keep coming back to. Highly recommend to everyone to come check it out!

Yelp
A semi-disappointing return to Broma. The salad was decent. The issue was the lentil and polenta main course this visit, which has been stellar in the past. The presentation looked good. The issue was that the lentils and polenta were barely warm, like they had just been popped in the microwave. Unfortunately, the lentil flavor was completely lacking compared to the previous visit when they were freshly cooked and had that delicious smoked paprika flavor. So, I left there with a "bad taste in my mouth", let down over the drop in flavor quality. Now I will have to consider if I am going back or if this was a fluke. Dining partner had the whole fish, pricey at $55. For what the dinner cost, I can think of a few other places that never disappoint. They add 20% service to the check.

Yelp
Delicious hidden tapas place in a classy hotel I didn't even know existed in the Googly part of Mountain View off of 101. Excellent service and cozy festive ambiance. Food: 4.75 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 3 (2 drinks per person and shared 5 starters, entree, dessert for $130 each including tip--with rising prices lately seems reasonable for the high quality) Opentableable: yes, with choice of indoor or outdoor seating which I always appreciate Return worthiness: yes! Eve award: perfectly cooked octopus Highlights: - Octopus: 2 long tentacles with perfect texture--springy when cut into but not rubbery and a delightful light char outside. 5 stars. - Croquettes: I expected mostly potato but was packed filled with meat and an excellent crunchy yet light exterior. 4.5 stars - Papas: boiled tender but not mooshy soft and covered in mojo verde. Sounded simple but a sleeper hit. 4.5 stars - Cocktails: 7 options and I tried Don't Call Me Shirley Templeton which was served up and complex flavors with rye and reposado melded together nicely. 4.5 stars - Clam with pork: bowl w tangy tomatoey broth with big chunks of pork which once you cut into them were very tender 4 stars - Olives: mix of types w orange thyme. 4 stars - Meatballs: dense meat in red sauce. Decent sized with 6 which was more than I expected. 4 stars - Chocolate mousse cake: liked the presentation with the rolled thin waffle cookie and textures with the tiny chocolate pellets. 4 stars - Wine: good selection by the glass. I had an extra delicious Sonoma pinot. - Atmosphere: lovely bar up front with long high tables. Past that a festive and cozy environment in the back with a fireplace and nutcrackers on the table. Also interior outdoor seating by the pool. - Staff: stellar. Everyone was on top of it, friendly, and helpful. Midlights: - Chef was talking to a table across from us for a while he seemed to know well. Heard he was from Michelin Starred Chez TJ and wish we could've spoken to him to pass along our compliments. Lowlights: - Tip included: I didn't realize this until I checked the itemized bill for something else. Would be good if they would call this out. Didn't know what to expect from this place since it had only a handful of reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I left with lifted spirits on a great dining high. Gave me all that I wanted for a night out and will be back.

Yelp
I was surprised upon arrival to find Broma located inside the Shashi Hotel. Going to a hotel specifically to eat at their restaurant is a rather unfamiliar concept to me, especially in the suburbs. It's also near Google and Shoreline Amphitheater (beware of traffic congestion when there are concerts), but there was easy street parking. We were easily able to make a dinner reservation the night before for a party of four. The ambiance was cozy with the long wall fireplace and tasteful Christmas decorations; it's a great date night spot! We got cocktails from the bar called The Emerald Hour, including the G&T, signature old fashioned, and "smarter than your average pear." They were all a bit stronger but in the best way, as the other ingredients balanced the alcohol's bitterness well. Our waiter gave us solid recommendations, of which we ordered the croquetas de pollo e manchego (great crunchy outside with lots of chicken stuffing) and papas arrugadas (the mojo verde sauce was yummy). We also shared the rabbit country paté, oyster rockefeller (comes with 3 oysters so I requested to make it 4), Portuguese sardines (only came with 3 like the oysters, and I hoped the waiter would've told us this beforehand and asked if we wanted 4 as well), Mary's chicken fabada (chicken quarter was a little dry), alentejo pork cheek and clams, and green lentils and root vegetables. Highlights were the plump oysters and croquetas although I wouldn't say anything was particularly mind blowing. Overall, I enjoyed this yummy meal of elevated rustic tapas!

Yelp
Went here for dinner and it did not disappoint! Made a reservation for 7:00pm and the restaurant was not overly crowded for a Saturday night. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a nice place for dinner out with friends or a date night. You'll be able to have a nice conversation without having to compete with any loud music or chatter from other tables. The restaurant, which is part of The Shashi Hotel and connected to The Emerald Hour bar, is very modern and dim, with nice artwork all around. Service was great, we were checked up on all throughout dinner. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us a run down of menu recommendations once we got our menus which was very helpful. Looks like the menu changes often so there will always be something new to try. Croquetas de pollo e manchego (5/5) - great appetizer to start with a crispy bite, flavorful chicken, and hint of spice. The curtido on the bottom is a nice refreshing addition. Chorizo Octopus sausage (4/5) - enjoyed this more than I expected to. The sausage is juicy, flavorful, and not overly salty which made it easy to enjoy. Hamachi crudo (4/5) - I love hamachi, so I enjoyed this with the various sauces and tomatoes that went with the thick slices of fish. The puffed rice was a nice of crunch to the dish. Sherry braised pork shank (5/5) - Did not expect a whole pork shank, bone in and all! The pork was very juicy with plenty of meat to share plus the chimichurri was a great complement to the pork. The potatoes were soft, which went great with the cream sauce. Whole roasted dorada (4/5) - The fish was juicy but it was lacking a bit in flavor. For the price I would've expected a side of veggies or something to complement the dish. Basque cheesecake (5/5) - comes with berry jam and whipped cream. Not too sweet and perfect size to enjoy alone or share.

Yelp
We had high hopes with friends whom have been there before and some of the reviews. Unfortunately we discovered that they no longer are doing their tasting menu! Now it is more just some appetizers and dinner entre options. We had the Stripped Bass and the Pasta entre along with their most expensive Spanish ham, and the artichoke appetizer. The Spanish ham was over $50 and it came out already sliced and not that high quality. We have been to Spain and were hoping for real Spanish ham sliced at the table with a much more vibrant red and mouthwatering ham but The pasta dish was not that great as there was not much pasta, not enough mushrooms and more of a veggie entre; I would give it a 2.5 out of 5. The Stripped bass was on it's own about a 3 out of 5. The deserts were not that great. The Mexican hot chocolate was a major disappointment. It was a cold desert and worse was that it was not very sweet and tasted graining and not appealing. The interior is nice and inviting. The wait staff does a great job. During dinner we looked it up at Yelp to realize all the stellar reviews were more like a year or so old and they were all referring to the tasting menu. There were two more recent reviews but they sounded very similar and probably written by the Restaurant. They need to bring back the tasting menu and the quality everyone in the past was raving about, or if they lost that great chef whom did the tasting menu, they better get a new chef...

Yelp
Inside the Shashi hotel, the dining room was cozier, and more festive than some photos show. Nice decor, and a wonderful fireplace. The wait staff was tremendous! We really enjoyed the signature salad (butter lettuce, serrano ham, cashews, orange, sumac vinaigrette), bread plate, papas arrugadas (bathed in cilantro "mojo verde"). The meatballs were solid -- very good, not great. Crema catalana for desert was great. They had Italian truffles in specials for dinner (in risotto, or shaved on any dish you want) -- maybe next time. We'll definitely return.

Yelp
3-3.5 stars but rounding down since their online menu prices are not updated (not sure why this seems to be an epidemic lately..), and they have an auto charge of 20% gratuity, even for takeout orders. Located in The Shashi Hotel, Broma was inspired by Michelin-starred Chef Jared Gallagher's travels through Spain and Portugal. They have an option for a 3-course prix fixe ($76/person) as well as an a la carte menu. It was about a 15 minute wait for my order placed at 5:45pm on a Friday. It was ready when I arrived, and I tried: -Croquetas de Pollo e Manchego (Curtido, Guajillo Chile, Jamon Iberico, $12, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=xlS6-GVxXUkx6M8wjcGbrQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Solid croquetas, and I liked how crispy the exterior was. I'm not sure if the description from their online menu matched with the actual ingredients since I couldn't taste any chile or jamon iberico, but it was still good overall. -Schmitz Ranch Wagyu Cheeseburger (Scallion, Green Olive Aioli, Tomato, Little Gem, Truffle Manchego, Served w/Pomme Purée, $22, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ifigta-jjwLUwIq5DTDJzQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVX): Very good burger, and I liked how juicy the burger patty was. I'm not sure if all the ingredients quite worked together (the green oil aioli, scallion, and truffle manchego), and some bites of the burger were really salty, but it has a lot of potential. Although the pomme purée (fancy mashed potatoes) was delicious, smooth, and super creamy, I would have preferred french fries. -Summer Lavosh (Tahini, Tatziki, Herb Oil, $18, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BrsT9A2tIs2bgy-mtOuLZQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Although the online menu stated $18, I was charged $20 for this dish. The presentation of this dish was interesting- roasted vegetables (eggplant, carrot, red bell pepper, onion) were rolled up in a lavash wrap and then cut. You then dip the pieces into tatziki and herb oil. This was good, but some bites of the vegetables were also really salty. Aside from the salt, there wasn't much flavor, even from the herb oil. For the value, I would rather pay slightly more to order the burger versus this dish. Their staff was really friendly and helpful over the phone. I was planning on dining in at a later point; however, the incorrect pricing and 20% auto-gratuity are definitely deterrents. If I were to return, I'd want to check out their spanish octopus, hamachi crudo, and porcini mushroom & artichoke dip. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. There are plenty of street parking spots, and I believe you may be able to park in the parking garage.

Yelp
We have been here twice! We like to get an assortment and share the dishes. The ambiance is very nice. I love how the seating is. Staff is friendly and wonderful! We really liked the vegetarian entree and the stew. There are lots of flavors going on! We will be baking for sure!

Yelp
Stylish but with overly casual ambiance and service compared to the decidedly first tier pricing, Broma suffers from the current trend of restaurants exploring "how much will diners pay"? The upside of eating in a restaurant intent on breaking the price ceiling is that it will never be overly crowded and you won't feel there's any pressure to turn the table. The downside is that you'll pay 5 star prices for 4 star food and needlessly informal 3 star service (the servers are wonderful but don't deliver "fine dining" service). For 2 appetizers and 2 a la carte entrees (excluding drinks), expect to pay $100 - $130 per person after the automatic 20% service and tax. This oddly makes the $120 tasting menu a potential opportunity for relative pricing arbitrage. Worth it? I won't be returning on my own dime to find out. The food is very good if not revelatory, so if you are price insensitive or on an uncapped expense account and favor casual elegance, it's a good choice. If you value your hard earned money, or expect prices to match the trifecta of ambiance, service, and quality of food, there are plenty of options that will meet those expectations elsewhere.

Yelp
Quite nice place, with outstanding service and pleasant atmosphere inside modern hotel in Mountain View. Food is mostly Spanish/tapas with other European and South American influences. Expensive, but food is quite good, especially pulpo, and various appetizers/tapas. Enjoyed the company, service, and atmosphere more than the food, to be honest. Definitely worth checking out, nevertheless!

Yelp
This restaurant sits in the lobby of the Shashi hotel. Great ambience with good food and drinks. VERY spendy and overpriced for what you get. The $22 burger is the cheapest meal on the menu and tasted great. Drinks....be careful what you ask for. A 'house' Cabernet runs $26/glass with a classic Old Fashioned running $18. A great place for young skinny Jean hipsters and techies as this place is in the heart of Google land. A little too much in terms of the experience as a whole for me. It seems to be a popular hangout, so worth a shot if that's your vibe.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this dining experience. I had been here for cocktails before, but this was the first time I had appetizers We ate at the bar and the staff was super attentive and nice. I had the octopus and the ham croquettes and both were excellent.

Yelp
Yummy Spanish cuisine Pork shank was our favorite dish. My wife had a wonderful birthday dinner

Yelp
Every month, my gf and I meet my friend and his wife for a double-date. It's become kind of a fun competition to see who picks the better restaurant. This past Saturday, my gf and I picked Broma Restaurant, and honestly I feel bad the other couple have to pick next because it's going to be very hard to top our experience we had here! The ambiance is very cool - comfy and cozy but with a sleek modern touch. It was kind of chilly when we got there but luckily we were seated next to the fireplace which was perfect. There was a lively birthday party happening at the outdoor bar area, but we were seated in the dining area and there wasn't any noise from the party disrupting us. Service is incredible - very helpful staff who have expert knowledge of their dishes and have amazing recommendations based on what your preferences are. They made sure to make note of any allergies and ensured whatever we ordered would have those items removed. The waitstaff's timing was impeccable - they always seemed to show up during a break in our conversation and never interrupted us, and also replaced our plates and utensils after every dish. The food itself is incredible. All of our starters were great but I think the dish that stood out the most was the Steak Tartare - it comes with foie gras butter and caviar served with fried plantain chips to dip. Honestly I could have just ordered 4 plates of this for the night. I can't get enough of it. Broma's options for entrees makes it hard to settle for one option - everything sounds amazing, and if you've seen the photos online, you know the presentation is aesthetically pleasing as well. I've had the Sherry Braised Pork Shank before and it was beautiful, a magnificent work of art in itself - but this time I decided on the 28 Day Dry Aged Ribeye. Ordered it Medium-Rare and it came Medium-Rare. I don't have the most advanced pallete in the world and I'm certainly not a renowned wordsmith, so let me just say that was a certified Damn Good Steak™. I would have finished the whole thing but I like to snack at night so I saved a couple morsels for later. TL;DR: Great place to entertain friends and family or celebrate a special event or even just a romantic couples dinner. Staff treats everyone like royalty, the cuisine is superb, and the drinks are fresh with their own unique flair!

Yelp
The website photos of a serene setting couldn't be further from the truth. The contemporary lines and open seating make for a noisy dining room where shouting replaces conversation. That the menu is limited wouldn't be a problem if the same flavor didn't end up in several dishes: smoked paprika. It was so strong in the scallop dish that we had to ask what the other ingredients were (carrot). Table service was cordial, but difficult to understand. It was as if a script were being recited. It didn't merit the size of the tip that is automatically added to the bill, an egregious practice. We left hungry after experiencing the miniscule portions of octopus and ham and clam soup and asparagus and scallops and desserts.

Yelp
Interesting venue and location being in the center of a hotel and partially wrapped around that hotel's pool. We were greeted immediately by the friendly and knowledgeable sommelier who walked us to our table. For whatever reason he spotted me as being the wine drinker at the table. I forgot his name but he was quite passionate about their wines and gave the full description with each pour. Our waiter James was very accommodating and fun to talk to. The food was fantastic, we didn't have a bad bite. We did The Broma Experience for a table of four. It supposedly covers about 80% of the menu family style. This seems about right, it was appetizer/charcuterie first followed by a very delicious fish dish and amazing skirt steak along with sides of roasted potatoes in cilantro sauce and a salad with prosciutto. Desert was an assortment of three deserts. Really great meal, everything tasted awesome. Pro tip, opt in for their caviar service. It comes at a good price point and a unique serving method. Also get Iberico with your first course.
