"Despite its name, Brooklyn Bagel doesn’t have a Kings County location — instead there are five spread across Queens and Manhattan. The Astoria outpost is well-liked and frequently boasting long lines for their gigantic, airy bagels. But the place also serves a mini bagel, probably about the size bagels were a century ago. Also note the rotating stunt specials like gingerbread, seven grain, and sundried tomato." - Robert Sietsema, Eater Staff

Google
This local bagel shop is very good. It has good amount of seating space and a wide selection of different bagels and breakfast sandwichs. The service was great and quick. I decided to try the jalapeno bagel and it was good, good compliment to the overall filling. I would definitely stop by again to try other combinations!

Jenna Daniels

Google
$8 dollar bagel , was very disappointed with the amount of vegetable cream cheese on my bagel, and I also asked for it to be extra toasted, making sure that it was dark and it was not toasted. I come to this location often but I’m not sure. I think I have to find a new bagel spot now.

Alexandra On earth

Google
The best NY style bagels EVER. end your search this is the spot. Perfect chewy outside soft inside and not to mention they are massive. They have a lot of flavors to choose from and they have decadent homemade cream cheese to pair it with. The bacon egg and cheese and the lox bagel are my two favorite sandwiches they make. I always take home jalapeño bagels and Garlic herd cream cheese. Try fresh squeezed OJ!!!

Google
Everything Bagel, toasted with plain cream cheese is the best. Lots of cream cheese until the last bite. Simple delicious

Google
Best gluten free bagels (I’ve found) and the freshest lox you can find in the city! They kindly took my order over the phone as gluten free bagels aren’t an option online - Add the option to the online menu please 🙏 Turkey lettuce asiago jalapeño cream cheese and BKclassic

Abinaya Swaminathan

Google
Loved their bagels! Took two everything bagels with Siracha and jalapeño cream cheese both were delicious. We could taste the flavours before getting them, staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our order was ready in couple of minutes. There’s seating inside the shop to grab and eat. Variety of drinks and other sandwiches are available. And they had the whole wheat bagel 👀👀 as well. Solid bagel shop overall

Google
We enjoyed our final bagels of our trip here on a freezing cold Sunday morning. The place was bustling, but service was quick and efficient. I got an everything bagel and lox, open faced, and it was very good, though I had to move toppings around to make it more even. The egg sandwich was also good, and very steamy for the cold day.

Yelp
Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company is so delicious!! I took my mom here for her birthday since she loves bagels, and she said this is one of the best bagel shops she's been to!! I ordered the Christmas bagel with tofu scallion spread and it was so fluffy! They also have a great selection of cream cheese, including vegan ones! My family also loved the villager bagel sandwich. The service is super quick, and there is some seating available in the shop. It's a great, cozy spot for quality breakfast and kettle-boiled bagels! I definitely look forward to returning and trying one of the locations in manhattan!

Evan O.

Yelp
I have left very few reviews in my life. I went to this establishment, ordered two sandwiches, left a 15% tip even though it's just take out. the realized I needed a side of butter. They said a small souffle cup (like what a side of ketchup comes in) is $2.33 after tax. nonsense to begin with after I ordered two sandwiches and tipped from a. customer service standpoint. But I threw two dollars I had in my pocket ( usually not much physical cash on me) on the counter and they suggested I use my Credit card for the additional THIRTY THREE CENTS I thought they were joking!!!! what a disgusting display Just a principle thing

Linda C.

Yelp
One of the best bagels I've ever had! The bagel to cream cheese ratio here is where it's at! Customer service is patient and nice, I saw a lot of people come in to pick up their online orders and there seemed to be a lot of regulars at this location. I ordered an everything bagel with the scallion lox cream cheese and I'm still thinking about this bagel to this day. The cream cheese was perfectly salted and was veryyyy generous with the amount of lox in it. Wish I had an opportunity to come back and try more flavors!

Yelp
Brooklyn Bagels is a good highly recommend spot to buy a sack, or just one of the classic Kettle-Boiled style NY bagel. Don't expect just your standard good tasting NY bagel, but definitely consider customizing this hand rolled kettle-boiled style bagel with any of their assortment of spreads. Interior isn't huge but comfortable and cozy enough to run in and out, or grab one of the few seats if available. Service is super fast whether ordering ahead or in person. Definitely recommend giving them a try when in these parts. :)

Yelp
Walking in there was a line to the door to place an order. It definitely wasn't clean, as there were lots of scraps, seeds, and spilled drinks on the floor but easy enough to walk around. Ordered three bagel sandwiches and took about 20mins. Definitely were good, but could've used more veggies in the vegetable cream cheese. Also put the smoked salmon in the wrong sandwich, but we just took it out and moved it to the other sandwich. Probably wouldn't go out of my way for this spot, but good if you're in the area.

Brianna D.

Yelp
Best bagel sandwiches in NYC! If only my wallet and waist could afford their Bkbagel Classic sandwich every day (smoked Nova salmon, scallion cream cheese, onion, tomatoes, and capers). The staff are always very friendly, my food comes out quickly and super fresh, and the experience is pleasant. Good for dining in.

Shafina I.

Yelp
Brooklyn bagel is always a solid go-to bagel spot. Tasty, flaky bagels with a crispy exterior and soft interior. They have a vast menu and everything is great quality. Always worth the trip.

Hannah W.

Yelp
This was always my go to bagel spot. I don't know who or what has changed, but everything is made horribly now. My bacon was literally burnt to a crisp and very obviously old. And way the bagel was cut??? And then to not even cut it all the way through??? Be so serious. $17 later just to throw it out

Sam Q.

Yelp
Decent bagel but it was on the pricier side. Also as you gan tell from the photo, the egg was unevenly distributed

Brandon G.

Yelp
I was leaving the city and going back home and knew I had to stop for some bagels before I left. I had a couple of choices but this sounded like a great spot on the way to LGA. It was a Sunday morning so I anticipated it to be busy. It was but not too bad. I got in and ordered and paid quickly and within a few minutes, my bagels and sandwich were ready. Only downside was since it was so busy, there was no room to sit inside. I also had my duffle bag for my flight so I couldn't really squeeze in. So I packed up the bagels and ate my sandwich outside while I waited for the Uber. These bagels are super soft and pillowy. But they have enough of a good density and flavor to make biting into them with the sausage, egg, and cheese, a sensational treat with every bite. I am normally not one who gets full on only one sandwich but the size of it and the quality was very filling. Not only would I go back for another sandwich, but definitely grab some more bagels for home. These bagels are great and I would come back from Buffalo just for more.

MIranda M.

Yelp
Now these are awesome bagels!! Also kinda huge so bring your appetite. We are very spoiled Brooklyn bagel lovers. So when we stopped in Astoria, getting our passports stamped, we found ourselves at this terrific place! They were friendly and quick. We got our whole west everything to go. Our only criticism was the tomato was a bit mealy and had been possibly refrigerated. But the Schmear and salmon yum! We will be back!

Anamika K.

Yelp
We've been ordering from here far too much because of how amazing the bagels are!!! The whole wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese is really good and our favorite. The bagels are fresh and the cream cheese is perfect. I've also tried the egg sandwiches and I've never been disappointed!

Ruby P.

Yelp
I got the classic bk bagel on plain toasted bagel and it was just the right amount of everything. We got our food pretty quick for a Thursday morning. There is enough seating inside also! Would definitely recommend!

Dan A.

Yelp
The bagels here are exceptional--larger and more substantial than others, it became the standout feature of my sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. The store buzzes with a lively, somewhat chaotic energy that surprisingly functions well. While space can be limited during peak hours, seating is available. Prices lean towards the higher end, yet remain reasonable.

Natt A.

Yelp
Great spot in Astoria for a good breakfast bagel! I ordered delivery and the service was very quick and efficient and the food arrived warm. I would definitely keep revisiting this place when I'm in the mood for a good bagel.

Chie C.

Yelp
Everything is good from their bagels to their schmears. My favorite is the lox spread on an everything bagel. It is fully filling, I ate it in 2 meals - brunch and dinner.

Taylor C.

Yelp
such a sweet lil shop. limited seating available both inside and outside. such a wide selection of bagels and cream cheeses! There are even vegan cream cheese options available ! The fresh orange juice is to die for and their coffees are fantastic. Perfect for a breakfast on the go or a slow morning on broadway.

Kazi S.

Yelp
Very delicious bagel and coffee from this Spot. This place is centrally located in a busy Astoria area next to the library. It is very cool and relaxing inside. They had a variety of options and many drinks to choose from. The coffee was pretty good, but I feel like for the price it could be a little bit better or more aesthetic. Overall, this was a good experience.

Saha S.

Yelp
We came here since we were in Chelsea Market and we're really craving bagels. Brooklyn Bagels did not disappoint - we got two bagels with cream cheese, and they put an ungodly amount of cream cheese. The bagels were delicious, and we savored every bite. The line here is pretty long and the restaurant is crowded, but it's worth every minute of waiting.

Chantel V.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure I nah the best bagel I've had in my life here. Now, transparency moment, I'm a Cali girl and this was my first and only ny bagel, but this was impressive. I had the everything bagel, garlic and herb shmear, bacon, avocado, onion, and tomato. It was perfection. The texture of the bagel, the harmony of all the flavors. Just yum. Whenever I'm back in ny, I'll make an effort to get here for that bagel Sammy. Some good to note info, they do delivery through apps like door dash so if you don't want to leave the house or hotel, order delivery. You can eat in or take your meal to go. I elected to dine in. The restaurant has a couple tables you can post at to eat, nothing fancy, but gets the job done. I got a chai latte with my bagel, it was ok. They also have a few coffee options.

Angelina G.

Yelp
One of my favorite bagel spots that i've tried in New York. We tried three kinds of bagels and my favorite was Bkbagel Classic. Perfect balance of flavors!

Erin L.

Yelp
Consistently good bagels and bagel sandwiches. It's a great go to for lox and cream cheese or a breakfast sandwich. A little pricy, but delicious and great quality.

Willy B.

Yelp
One of the best bagel shops in NYC. The one on 30th in Astoria is my go to. I read at least one person describing it as a chain but only if you consider a family owned business with 5 shops in one city a chain. (I don't). Big, fresh, often still hot, perfect bagels. Just a little fluffier than a classic style but still with plenty of tooth to them. Cream cheese of many styles and decent coffee. Many offerings to make them a great sandwich. Limited seating inside. Buy a bunch and bring them home. 7 minute walk from the N train.

Jaz S.

Yelp
Amazing little coffee shop. The bagels here are so delicious! I'll add photos of the ones we got. But honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any option on the menu. We even got an iced mocha drink and that was delicious as well. The staff was jokey and fun to speak with which is always nice. And it's right on a busy street. Only issue was looking for parking. But great for walking around the town. Overall, highly recommend and would love to be back!

Kevin J.

Yelp
Freshly made Bagels on site I STOPPED in for A egg Bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. W/ bacon, onions and tomatoes. Delicious every bite.

Zack W.

Yelp
TLDR- it's a consistent chain, not the best bagels in Astoria, but it's always alright + pretty good value. Treat it as a stop-and-go Speaking as someone who regularly frequents this location, I almost always recommend going here. It is a chain, which means that the quality/uniqueness won't be top notch, but it does guarantee a certain level of consistency. A bagel+spread typically runs around $6, but the portions are so large it can typically be a meal-and-a-half. I have heard from my friends that the more "out-there" spreads may vary in quality, but the standard stuff is always fine. Sandwiches are pricier at around $12-15 but I've had a good experience with the sandwich of the week. In terms of service and vibes, it leaves a bit to be desired, but I don't mind that too much as I think it's best to get your food and go. Orders are handed very fast, so even during morning rush you'll get your food relatively quick. Essentially, it's not a good cafe or restaurant, but a phenomenal stop-and-go.

Kerrie D.

Yelp
Drove right here from a drop off at LaGuardia on New Years Day. They were open and hoppin on an otherwise desolate spot in Astoria. There were so many bagel and cream cheese flavors to choose from, I froze for a minute, not sure what to pick. I ended up with their Bakers Dozen (14 bagels at BB); 4 egg, 4 everything, 4 sesame and 2 cinnamon raisin. I stayed pretty traditional although I did keep eyeing a bin of cranberry holiday bagels hmm....... I also ordered chive, veggie and olive cream cheese, although I did keep eyeing eggnog cream cheese...WHAT? Overall, the bagels were huge, delicious and still warm by the time we got back to Harlem and the cream cheese was packed with filling, just the way I like it!

Donald S.

Yelp
Ok don't stone me NYC...but before today, I would have been ready to call your bagels overrated. I know, it's a seemingly unfathomable notion. The fact that everyone's king of the bagel world can be overrated, I admit is a crazy thought. But in all honesty, I've never been impressed with any bagel I've had in nyc, until today! Brooklyn bagel is a perfect bagel. Chewy on the Inside and lightly crisp on the outside! I had the srirachacha breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Simply put....absolute deliciousness. It is a damn good sandwich with just the right balance of sweet and salt. These bagel are massive. And at this price point, this is probably the best value I've had in nyc. Brooklyn bagel and coffee has restored my faith in nyc bagel humanity!

Afrin K.

Yelp
Wow - what a great bagel! The size of the bagel is great with plenty of cream cheese portions, and can be shared between two. Went with the everything bagel + vegetable cream cheese, and was very delicious! Craving it already. The shop has a few tables in the front to sit, which makes it convenient to eat. The service was great, and takes credit card since many NYC shops can be cash only. A definite stop if you're looking for a great way to start your morning!

Haley F.

Yelp
Bagel was SO big and SO good! I got a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese spread. Simple, delicious, and filling. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Jessica C.

Yelp
The bagels would have been great had I gotten my actual order. I ordered 8 everything, 4 sesame , 2 cinnamon raisin. Instead I was given 2 cinnamon raisin, 2 blueberry, 2 pumpernickel, 3 everything, 1 whole Lotta, 1 onion, and 1 salt bagel. We live on Long Island and had a soccer tournament nearby so we decided to check it out on our way home. Didn't realize the order was wrong until we got home and my daughter went to get her sesame bagel and there were only 2. She wanted to take the others 3 back to college. I was so impressed by how quick the service was that I took the bag I was handed and walked to the car bragging how nice and quick they were. I guess maybe they need to slow down and check the orders for accuracy.

Emily S.

Yelp
One of the best bagels I've had in NYC! I got an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was everything I could've asked for. I got my bagel toasted, and it was perfectly crispy and fresh. The scallion cream cheese was excellent. The orange juice also tasted freshly squeezed. Overall a solid bagel spot.

Ben B.

Yelp
The bagels are great and I like coming here but I don't think I'm going to prefer lox from here anymore. They charge $10.15 for a bagel with lox. And put about 1 slice of lox! Their bagels are great. Next time I'll just buy the lox from the supermarket.

Lisa e.

Yelp
They run a tight ship here. The workers are great, and they have a well-oiled system. However.... my biggest beef is that I like my bagels TOASTED, and yet, every time I asked for a TOASTED bagel, all I get is a bagel, that, while 'warm', has Not been toasted. I don't like doughy/chewy bagels. I want my bagel to have a bit of 'crunch' when I bite into it. I'm not sure why, but clearly they Can't or Won't toast our bagels, even when we ask them to. Also note that, like many businesses now, they charge you extra money if you pay with a credit card, and this extra charge means you also pay more in sales tax. So if you pay with credit card, you will end up paying around $2.00 over the advertised price, between the credit card charge and the sales tax (say for a bagel with the works....lox, etc.)

Steve M.

Yelp
We now live in Virginia, but my daughter lives in Astoria. My wife brought bagels home and they are not the bagels we used to get there. Flavor wasn't there and more importantly they were tough. Not a good look for a bagel. Will give it one more shot next week. If still the same will never be back.

Lauren S.

Yelp
The GOAT of the NYC bagel. They are delicious and huge. Their egg sandwiches are also incredible.

Shannon E.

Yelp
Im a regular here and highly suggest any of their locations! The coffee and service is incredible, I am happy they are on several locations in Astoria. Awesome food selection, perfect place to spend a whole day working I highly recommend. Love the desserts and healthy options, music and flat screens.

Luke I.

Yelp
Over Priced Garbage!! Do not go here. The people behind the counter completely messed up my order and then proceeded to be rude when I notified them! I will be going Elsewhere.

Joriene M.

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): I loved my Honey Sriracha BLT bagel--perfect mixture of sweet, savory, and spicy. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: not too bad * Wait Time: minimal on a Saturday morning * Service: great and friendly * Ambiance: it's a nice bagel shop with indoor seating

Steve B.

Yelp
A must stop every time in New York. One of the reasons I drive. I bring home lots of bagels. Absolutely the best. My only suggestion is add variety to the sweet cheeses like caramel apple, peach, apricot, orange cranberry or pineapple coconut. I love their savory choices.

Halle S.

Yelp
I really liked this place! I was in Astoria for the weekend and was recommended Brooklyn Bagel by a coworker and it did not disappoint. I came on a weekend morning and it was crowded but I still managed to find a seat. Workers were nice and efficient. Just your average bagel store inside, nothing crazy with decor anything. Nice and simple! I got lox on a plain bagel and it was delicious! Big, fluffy bagels and fresh fish. All you could want in a lox bagel. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Santiago G.

Yelp
They were really nice and the food was really delicious so I really recommend due to them having good milkshakes.

Joseph O.

Yelp
I have to say their bagels were amazing, but what made my experience even better was the customer service!

Alex L.

Yelp
This place feels like a place I'd come everyday if I lived close by. The people are nice, and pricing is upfront. The pricing is up on the board. A bit pricy for a LOX but everywhere else it is as well. Many people coming in and out but they do offer seating further inside. They've got every variety imaginable and are willing to do any customization. Want a pound of cream cheese and respect the schmear? You got it.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Stopped by for some bagels! I got a lox bagel and thought it was pretty good! I would've preferred a bit more filling but thought it was still pretty good. My friend got a sausage egg and cheese sandwich which was also decent but the bagel the filling ratio was also a bit off - it was super large on top. The regular sized bagels are pretty large and super filling too! Recommend stopping by for some nice bagels in the area.

Melanie M.

Yelp
No longer worth the hype they used to be worth. It is with sadness and disappointment that I write this review. Before my last trip here I touted this as one of NY's best bagels. Worth the wait to deal with the mayhem of ordering to receive that perfect bagel. Not anymore. I recently ordered a toasted ww mini everything bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagel was toasted for 10 seconds, there was a giant plop of cream cheese on it. Definitely not assembled with any care or love. The bagel was tough. They no longer put everything on both sides of the bagel, the bottom of the bagel was so hard I had to spit a piece out because I couldn't gnaw through the tough outer shell. In addition to the quality being subpar, I ordered an iced coffee with Splenda and they put a ton of regular sugar in the coffee, I know because of the crunchy "goodness" of sugar at the bottom of the coffee.

Nicole B.

Yelp
Awesome typical nyc style bagel, good service, always quick. Can order for pickup as well

Brian L.

Yelp
One of the best bagels I've had for a very long time. Giant - check Crispy on the outside - check Soft, pillow chew on the inside - check Subtly sweet - check Smoked salmon bagel sandwich was perfect. Just enough salmon, just the right amount of thin onions and capers. I substituted the plain cream cheese with scallion cream cheese. Worth every bite.

Gab G.

Yelp
Most locations of Brooklyn Bagel are excellent, and this one is no different. My boyfriend and I usually order delivery from here - it's almost always pretty quick. Sausage egg and cheese on everything toasted is great. Also can't go wrong with an assortment of fresh cinnamon raisin, everything and whole wheat bagels. Only gripe is that the hashbrown isn't available as a side anymore (at least on Doordash), but you can still add it to a bagel sandwich, so I'll take it.
