"Describing itself as an “innovative dumpling” shop, Brooklyn Dumplings is a new-age fusion automat/restaurant at the bottom of a shiny East Austin office complex, where you place orders on an electronic kiosk and your food arrives in a locker. If you’re a fan of more classic dumplings, stay far away (though they do have a small menu of “traditional dumplings”). But if you’re okay with cheeseburgers, reubens, and chicken parmesan hiding inside a ball of fried dumpling skin, this is a pretty fun and unique spot to grab a late-night bite." - Nicolai McCrary

Ok you guys!!!! 😄 This place was pretty cool. You walk in and there's no humans, lol. There's a menu above, ordering kiosks on the right and a fridge to grab your own drink when you're done ordering and paying. Behind the wall of drawers are the humans working on your made fresh order. Don't forget to grab your ticket from the kiosk! It upsets the humans if you dare knock on their tiny window! 🫣😈With the ticket you'll be able to get your food from the drawers in the wall. Otherwise a grumpy, unfriendly human will bring it to your table. 😁 It's a fun experience, food is delicious! Humans suck, at least the one we got this day. Check it out!!!! I loved it!

I came across this restaurant on IG and being Asian, I knew I had to come try this. It's on 6th Street, so be aware of that. I'm glad we came in the afternoon because we had the kiddos with us. It's a small, cute little spot. It's definitely not good for large parties. It wasn't busy, so we walked right in. We were greeted, but it would have been better if we were asked if this was our first time dining there because we had no idea what we were doing. We got the mixed dumplings (came with about 12), fries 🍟 (better than chic-fil-a), teriyaki chicken bowl, and mango habenero chicken bowl (daughter said it was a bit too spicy). The rice 🍚 wasn't sticky, so the kids didn't care for it. It was more like basmati. We didn't know all those vegetables came on top of the bowls either, but I don't remember seeing an option to have that removed, and the kids kind of frowned on that, too. The flavor of everything was good. If we lived closer, we would be there at least every other week. I'm def interested in a franchise in the future. Not sure how I spent 70 something dollars, and when I checked out, my total was over $110 after tax, not realizing it calculated 20% in tip. No offense, but with that first experience, I wouldn't have tipped that much but would have put something in a tip jar, so careful how you maneuver through the kiosk.

We picked up Brooklyn Dumpling Shop for an early dinner. Overall we were underwhelmed with the food. The edamame were extremely greasy. We ordered the family feast with 3 different flavors of dumplings for 3 different sets of tastebuds. Rather than package each set of dumplings separately they threw them all in the same box (see photo). We had no idea which dumpling was which. The lo mein was very tasty with a slight crunch. The apple pie dumplings weee tasty. Sad we had a poor experience. Won’t be back.

Google
the concept was pretty cute, food came out pretty quick and was hot. but food was not good (i got cheese steak and pastrami & swiss dumplings). and the machine was not working properly: it says that my food was not ready but it's been sitting in the locker for who knows how long. place was also crawling with flies and gnats:(

Google
Very unique and cool concept. This is a very casual setting in the east side of Austin near all the fun bars. The soup dumplings were a bit salty for my liking, but the dumplings themselves were very good. The Korean bbq dumplings melted in my mouth and had a good flavor. I loved the peanut sauce on the fried chicken, I just wish it was crispier and less greasy. Overall a good casual meal. They have hot sauce and soy sauce available. I recommend getting some chili paste/oil!

I had been wanting to knock this off my bucket list ever since I heard of it just to check it out plus it's open late so I was super happy about that. Overall the food's very fried so that's my opinion so if you like fried food you're definitely going to like it It didn't taste terrible I definitely thought it was pretty good everybody there was super friendly and professional and restrooms were very clean overall it definitely was a good experience.

Google
Self service automat style of service. Order on a kiosk and scan your receipt to open the proper bin with your food. Dumplings were great. Rice was good - add the provided chili oil. Fries were super tasty, hot and crispy.

Google
Food 3 stars because it was actually pretty good but bf had chicken bowl and had a bone in it! (If it was wings then I would get it but chicken nuggets with sauce on it aren’t supposed have bones in them) Service was 1 only because you order from a tablet and get food from the cute windows which was pretty cool but besides the point. Atmosphere was good nice little place and good music playing.

Yelp
Meh. Ordered through DoorDash, and got 2 combos (dumplings, fries, soda) + chicken bites. Combos were $12.99, and I just didn't care for either dumpling flavor at all. It felt like it had way too much meat and no other flavor. Waffle fries were good but pretty soggy. and the drinks arrived super warm. Best part was the chicken bites, but even those had nothing special. Last but not least, I paid $5 for a small scoop of ice cream. Good, but overpriced for what it was. Don't recommend unfortunately, just too pricey and not enough flavor.

Carrera L.

Yelp
Unfortunately the other reviews are accurate. We love dumplings and wanted to love this place, the concept was short cool but the food was not good. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and the buffalo chicken dumplings, the teriyaki was ok but tasted like any frozen dumpling you could buy and make yourself. I didn't try the buffalo ones but my boyfriend said they tasted like hot pockets and "not in a good way". Here's the kicker... You can see into the kitchen area and on top of the rack you can clearly see a bag of premade frozen dumplings! You are dumpling restaurant and you don't even make them yourself?! Also, at least do a better job of lying to us.

Kelsea K.

Yelp
Kitschy & clean.. but... one chef apparently working on the Saturday afternoon when we went... and it took a while to get our fairly meager order. Then nothing was very good. The fried dumplings were OK on cook & chew factor, but all the fillings were weird. The cheesy-American sandwich fillings just felt greasy & watery, and the BBQ didn't have a good flavor. The "soup dumplings" were... wrong. How you gonna just pop some dumplings in broth & try to pass it off as "soup dumplings" ?!? . Am I missing something?! (But alas, this was the best thing we ordered & we drank it all up) Total miss for me. Maybe if they hire a good chef and re-kajigger their menu a little, I'd come back.

Michael B.

Yelp
Interesting concept, disappointing execution. Their twist is making dumplings with "American fillings" like mac n' cheese or philly cheesesteak. To be fair, we didn't try these as we were craving the more traditional Asian flavors. We ordered the following to-go: Pork & Cabbage Potstickers - Pretty good! Nothing spectacular but definitely serviceable. Pork Dumplings in Broth - again, not bad. But nothing to write home about either. Crispy Shrimp & chicken in Sweet & Sour Sauce - just so-so. Pretty basic honestly. And sometimes the sauce can soggy up the crispiness. Lo Mein - What a sad disgrace for a noodle dish. I get this is a $6 side, but it's dry, boring, lacks any flavor. Overall Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is a shining example of mediocrity. Nothing will offend your taste buds, but nothing will impress them either.

Erin K.

Yelp
The concept of this whole restaurant is unique. You order on the kiosks, which are easy to use, and you pick up the food in the automat machines. Our order came out in 10 minutes, and there was no wait during Tuesday lunch time. I shared 12 dumplings with my friends, and we ordered the Mac n' Cheese dumplings, Kung Pao Chicken dumplings, and Korean BBQ Beef dumplings. The dumplings were not the best things in the world. The beef and the chicken dumplings were okay, but it felt a little too greasy and heavy. The Mac n' Cheese dumpling was normal -- basically what you expect when you picture a Mac n' Cheese dumpling. They were all interesting to try, but I wouldn't get them again. I think this place is worth visiting for the concept, but the food isn't anything extravagant.

Nicole G.

Yelp
This place is absolutely one of our now family favorites!! The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, it's an easy system of ordering from a kiosk and the the coolest part is getting to scan your ticket and watching the colored boxes open up with your food inside! My kids loved it!! The service and all employees were top tier! They cater to all customers and were so kind to my kids helping them understand and have the full experience! Loved it! Now to the food!! My girls favorite were the dumpling Mac and cheese, it was so delicious and crispy, with some ranch on the side made it perfect! I ordered the dumplings in broth, aka soup dumplings and they were perfection, soft, tasteful, and the sauces on the side that came with them added to their flavor in every single way! I can't wait to make this awesome restaurant a monthly hit for me and my family!! It's 100% worth a try! Also no food pics because we couldn't wait and then couldn't stop eating long enough to take a picture!

Cassie P.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place during our visit but we were beyond unimpressed! The kiosk was easy to use and the place is kind of cute. We wanted the experience of the automat however we were handed our bag of food by a grumpy staffer. We were surprised so I jokingly said "oh bummer we thought we were going to get to use the machine". The other patrons before us all received their items via the machine. When I said this, he just glared at me and said nothing else. Tried our dumplings.... Meh. Nothing great, I have had better at home and as another review states.. grab a bag from TJs! Very disappointing and we wanted the Brooklyn dumpling, not the Brooklyn attitude!

Pree R.

Yelp
I came by for lunch after attending the Austin Coffee Festival, as it was not to far from where I parked! I found the menu intriguing, especially because they offered plant-based options and veggie meats for their dumplings and bowls. I ended up getting a bowl with chik'n and peanut sauce, and the base was a simple bed of veggies. It wasn't my most favorite dish in the world, but it satisfied my hunger. I was also able to eat everything with chopsticks too, lol!

Shawna B.

Yelp
i'm so sad that they are not open anymore. They closed down permanently I believe. hoping it's not permanent. The vibes the energy and the experience was so worth it even though it's like 2 $$. I know for most people they don't really ever get to have the extra money to spend on these experiences but if you get a chance, it's so worth it, especially if you have kids letting them see the food coming out of the windows on the wall. It's also fun for your inner child. Unfortunately, I can't find the photos and videos I did take. I also just want to mention the person that was in the front when I went was super nice and positive.

Rex M.

Yelp
I've been so very excited to visit this place! It is like walking into a set on breakfast at Tiffany's! You are able to order form an electronic menu board and pay through tap, once you receive a text with your barcode, head over and pick up your meal from the futuristic yet somehow nostalgic lockers and retrieve your food! They have sooo many options! We had the edamame, Mac n cheese dumplings, peanut butter n jelly bites and some chicken Parmesan dumplings! AMAZING, to say the least! The flavors are in point! The service is upon yourself and I'm great so the service was on point and the frozé! Red velvet FROZÉ!!! How unique. With a mission to be a late night destination, I am so excited to see how this place unfolds!!!!

Wendy K.

Yelp
I thought the edamame was the best part of the dish. The sauces were too spicy for me. The dumplings were decent but they forgot part of my order.

Kelsey D.

Yelp
Macaroni & cheese dumplings? Yes! Visited the Brooklyn Dumpling Shop as soon as I heard about the opening of their Austin location because I was excited to see their food locker concept and had to try the specialty dumplings. My group ordered the reuben, macaroni & cheese, chicken parmesan, and buffalo chicken dumplings. Each order comes with five dumplings and allows you to choose between seared and crispy cooking styles. We placed our order online although the kiosk ordering in store also looked pretty easy. The reuben dumplings were our overall favorite, as they were very flavorful and also came with thousand island dipping sauce. The other flavors were also very good, although a dipping sauce that paired well with each, like maybe marinara for the chicken Parmesan and Buffalo chicken dumplings, would have complimented them nicely. Without a dipping sauce these flavors were a little dry. I'd also recommend ordering the crispy cooking style over the seared, as the crispy were cooked perfectly but some of the seared were overcooked. The dumpling to filling ratio was overall very good, with some dumplings having more filling than others. The lockers were very easy to use - you just type your first name and first letter of your last name into the computer and the locker door with your food in it opens up. Important to note, you will not receive an email or text when your order is ready, but instead your order will be marked as "ready" on the locker screen in the store. Overall, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is a very fun addition to 6th street and I will definitely be back the next time I'm craving unique dumplings.

Allie R.

Yelp
I went twice in a week after trying this spot! You can order at the restaurant or online in advance. You place your order yourself and then will get a text when it is ready and it will be waiting in a locker for you to open. You will have an individual code to access the locker so nobody will take your items. This is such a cool concept to make the ordering process fast. They offer so many unique dumplings and are all delicious. I also tried a bowl and was impressed by the taste and portion size. Highly recommend checking out for to-go or diners at their tables inside!

Thomas N.

Yelp
Concept: the future. Delivery of the concept: epic fail. My friend wanted to stop in to try this place. He placed an order it said it was going to be ready by a certain time and it was a little delayed not a big deal. The order screen said the order was ready and went to scan the barcode it said invalid so had to knock on the window to talk to an employee. gave them the name on the order and they manually grabbed the order to hand to us but it was the wrong order when we got home. We ordered the following dumplings: Philly cheesesteak, pastrami and chicken teriyaki. Instead receives 2 orders of Mac & cheese and chicken teriyaki. extremely disappointed!!

Yelp
Concept: Genius. Execution: Cluster****. After walking by this place several times, I finally tried it. It wasn't what I expected. The front of the house was unstaffed and automated. You order at a computer kiosk. You have to enter your cell phone number so they can text you when your order is ready. Also, a screen shows your name and whether your order is "In Progress" or "Ready." Once your order is ready, you scan a QR code on your receipt, and a locker with your food in it opens up. Fun! Right? I ordered my food, sat down, and waited. And waited. And waited. I got pretty sick and tired of seeing my order "In Progress." After more than 40 minutes, I heard someone call my first name. It was an actual live employee. I went up to her, and she said my order was ready. I pointed out that the screen still said, "In Progress." She waved my barcode under the scanner anyway. She got an error message. She waved it two more times, and on the last try, a locker opened up and my food was in it. Nevertheless, the screen still said, "In Progress." Was the food worth the wait? Alas, no. It was room temperature. The portions were small. The chicken dumplings in broth tasted pretty good, I must admit. However, the edamame were too salty and looked burnt (see photo), and the lo mein had no flavor whatsoever. Finally, 58 minutes after I ordered -- when I was almost done eating -- I got a text saying my order was ready. (See screenshot). Thanks a ton, guys! P.S. In response to the owner: I ordered under my real name; "Sparky" is a nickname. If he really wants to investigate, my order number is shown in the screenshot.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place but unfortunately it was some of the worst Asian food we've had in Austin. The food is soggy, excessively salty, and just tastes extremely cheap overall. We ordered: -Two chop chop bowls (one with peanut sauce and one with teriyaki) -Pork dumplings in broth -Waffle fries -"Crispy" bites -Philly cheesesteak dumplings I mean it when I say that every single item disappointed. Everything is so soggy that it's practically a joke to call the bites "crispy", and both sauces on the bowls were too heavy and tasted unpleasant. I took just a few bites of my bowl and couldn't stomach how overpowering the saltiness of the sauce was. Honestly, the best thing on the menu was the waffle fries, and that's because I prefer soggy to crispy fries! But when I'm getting fried dumplings and "crispy" bites, I prefer for them to live up to the name. Sorry to say but you'd be better off (and save money!) by getting some of the frozen Asian dishes at Trader Joe's. This food was that level quality, if not worse.

Tae K.

Yelp
I think Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is a cool concept. Fast casual Asian food with American fusion. It was cooked in house and self service. You walk in and you go straight to the kiosk and order from there. The staff at the front were super engaging and helpful. They were ready to answer any questions about the menu. I ordered two orders of dumplings (as they are a dumpling house). Starting with the traditional I can say the dumplings were on point. The flavor was pretty traditional. I will say the kung pao chicken was okay. But I didn't think it tasted like Kung Pao chicken. It was missing the spiciness and veggies I'm used too. Another I had was the wrapper they used and fried it became very chewy, so I'd recommend pan fried versions. Another thing the cost is a bit pricey for dumplings. For the specialty it's $9 for 5 and the traditional $8 for 6. Overall I think it's a fun concept to try and explore!

Sabrina B.

Yelp
I walked in here with absolutely low expectations for this place, but let me preface with the fact that I actually WOULD recommend this place for a drunk bite on 6th street. I mean, just think about it. It's a no contact quick bite of little fried foods and self serve drinks within walking distance of clubs and bars. This place pretty much belongs on the street where people wander in being like "oh my god.... I want dumplings.... AND Mac and cheese.... At the same time." I'm not someone that's like that, but the concept makes a lot of sense to the drunk or pregnant individual. The place is bright and can keep you awake enough before you have to head home. There is no service, so for the kiosk to ask for tip with a recommended 20% seems to be geared towards the drunk individual that would pay that much just for someone to yell out your name when your order is done despite there being an inaccurate screen letting you know when it's supposed to be finished. The place is a bit pricey if you buy things individually. The combo is a much better price point and the amount of food makes more sense. I would warn to NOT GET THE PHILLY CHEESESTEAK DUMPLINGS. It was both flavorless yet tasted and felt like what dog food would be out the container. The chicken Parmesan dumplings are a much better choice, and if you choose any dips, I wouldn't say any is better than the other. It's mostly just preference. For sides, the waffle fries were actually.... Amazing. Well seasoned and crispy goodness. If you don't choose that as the side, you might as well not order because it was the standout part by far. The lo mein side comes in a cute takeout container but is actually quite dry. And I didn't bother ordering any of the more "traditional" dumplings. I recommend sticking to the fried fusion dumplings. If you're opting for a gentrified place such as this one, you might as well go for what they specialize in and not set yourself up for disappointment. A little warning, I thought their chili oil would be catered towards spice averse people, but it actually packs a huge spice forward punch. Overall, yeah, this place isn't that great. But it's a place catered towards the target audience. I would be happy coming after a long night of drinking and immediately needed fried food and a cold soda to end it all off.

Angelique K.

Yelp
Great idea. Self serving order and pick food from locker. I'm vegetarian for Lent so enjoyed the plant based chicken bowl, Demane dumplings in broth. A definite recommend for me.

Leslie T.

Yelp
I recently visited Brooklyn Dumpling Shop with high hopes, enticed by the innovative concept of their automated lockers. While the idea of the lockers is undeniably cool and adds an attractive factor to the experience, I was left utterly disappointed by the quality of the food. To put it bluntly, the dumplings I tried were the worst I've ever had. The taste and texture were subpar, and I couldn't help but feel that even microwaved Trader Joe's dumplings or homemade pan-fried dumplings would have fared better. It's disheartening when a concept with so much promise falls short in execution, particularly when considering the potential the concept holds. I sincerely hope that Brooklyn Dumpling Shop can take this feedback to heart and make the necessary improvements. With a concept as compelling as theirs, there's a real opportunity to create something truly special. Here's to hoping that the food quality can match the innovation of the concept in the future.

Millie C.

Yelp
As everyone has said, the concept is very fun, gimmicky, and perfect for the introvert's night out. As for the food, a lot of the savory ones can be compared to hot pocket / pizza rolls with a supreme up charge. Take your friends from a small town for the experience but otherwise try a local food truck instead.

Tope E.

Yelp
I love the concept of this place. You looked through pictures in the self-checkout, select your choice, and wait for your food to arrive in automat like you are in a blade runner future. They are still working out some technical issues but the food we did get was mouthwatering. Highly recommend the Mac n' cheese dumpling and the pastrami dumpling. The menu was limited at the time so I couldn't get everything I wanted but what I got really hit the spot.

Justin C.

Yelp
Very chill vibe and good food! First time here and we ordered the Pot sticker soup combo with lo mein noodles, Crispy chicken bowl combo with white rice and peanut satay sauce and Philly Cheesesteak Dumplings. Not your typical dumpling flavors!

Joshua C.

Yelp
Really slow service during dinner hours. Waited at least an hour to even get my food. We waited 30 mins, walked over to the taco truck across the street came back with tacos but no dumplings. Honestly not a great start for mediocre dumplings. The dumpling skin was very undercooked. I can make better dumplings at home. Definitely won't be coming back. Not worth the wait. Sorry.

Eric K.

Yelp
Soup dumplings are served in an unorthodox way, drowning in broth. Three of them were busted open. They were severely overcooked. I'm most disappointed about these. The wrapper was mushy. We ate them in the car so it wasn't like they sat unattended for a ride home. Grilled chicken bowl in the cardboard togo container was greasy and soaked through the bottom. I didn't notice got a nice big grease spot on my dashboard. Veggies were undercooked and peanut sauce was not the right move. It was just too heavy and not balanced. Seared dumplings seem like they are wrapped in uncooked Nasoya paper. They need to be briefly steamed first to get some moisture into them. Sear marks were dry, like they didn't use some fat to get a decent crisp. There was no crisp at all on them. Overly chewy. Food was prepared within an acceptable time and the automat was easy enough to use. 2/10. Not impressed. It's all hype.

Erika B.

Yelp
I loved this spot on E. 6th St. They have a very meet system going on. You get there and you have to order your food on a kiosk, you don't have to speak to anyone, and it's super easy to order. The menu has pictures and is very easy to understand what is available to the customer. You receive a text when your food is ready and you have to scan a QR code to this wall of cells where the food is placed ready for pick up and it's super neat. The most futuristic dumpling shop I've ever been to, loved it!

Michael T.

Yelp
New dope spot on the east side. I had read about this place and was excited to see a dumpling shop on the east side. Since I was already full from lunch down the street I decided to get dessert dumplings! Yes you heard that right. They had two options, peanut butter/jelly or apple pie. I went with PB&J and it was delicious. 4 came to an order. My friend and I each had one, be careful they are hot! It was pretty tasty and was a fun spin on a childhood staple. I saved two for later and actually liked it more cold! I'm looking forward to trying more flavors, especially the savory such as the pastrami which people rave about and the cheeseburger (currently not eating meat , thanks John G) Great for a snack or order a bunch for a whimsical lunch or dinner.

Anastasia C.

Yelp
They're dumplings you literally buy frozen from a grocery store and pour any sauce you want, and call it whatever flavor/area it is popular in. You order through a computer. There's hardly any interaction with a person.

Jake D.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of the interior and the locker style delivery. Had the bacon cheeseburger with the green onions which was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend grabbing the apple pie dumplings. If you love peanut butter then I'd go with the PB&J option. Melt in your mouth delicious.

Bo B.

Yelp
One of the machines froze so we had to hop over to the other one and restart the order. The Korean bbq dumplings were sweet and didn't taste anything like Korean bbq. The pork and cabbage dumplings were kind of oily but tasted ok otherwise. The peanut vegetarian one was just not very good and kind of mushy.

Azkia A.

Yelp
Completely blown away. Felt like straight out of a sci-fi movie. You place an order through the kiosk and get the order through the locker after scanning the barcode. The ambience is lovely and I've had the best dumplings here.

Daussin A.

Yelp
For a dumpling shop, the dumplings were really bad. I got the cheeseburger ones and the meat inside was not cooked. All the food was room temp. It was way overpriced for what we ordered to come out the way it did.

Molly G.

Yelp
Food quality isn't good. I will say the staff here is very nice but our food took 30 min and there was only 2 orders in front of us in the whole place. We got the soup dumpling and side of noodles. The filling of the soup dumplings as well as the traditional dumplings tasted low quality/stomach ache waiting to happen and the noodles had no sauce and was very bland. It didn't seem like an issue unique to this location, it seems like this company needs to invest in higher quality ingredients bc ppl in Austin have access to quality Asian and this is far below our standards in my opinion.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Ordered delivery thru Grubhub. Driver forgot my drink. I got the dumpling soup combo. The flavor of the broth was the best part of my meal. The dumplings were flavorful but had a mushy yet slightly gritty texture. The lo mein was dry and bland. I was not provided with any utensils or condiments. Has potential.

Christopher ..

Yelp
Excellent service. Easy to use ordering interface. Solid food. Tastier than you might expect from a virtual restaurant. Definitely worth trying and potentially becoming a regular quick lunch spot.

Brenda Z.

Yelp
Fun establishment, good food open late and excellent service. The person that helped us out was Malik! They were very attentive, servicing tables and helping late night clientele. Super friendly, and made conversation with guest.

Elise N.

Yelp
There's no way anyone actually thinks this is good. So bad. So expensive. Damn you Instagram for tricking me into trying another shitty place.

Ava P.

Yelp
Weird experience. We went around 6p on a weekend evening and the place was totally empty-- not a great sign. Ordering on a kiosk is fun, sure. We just tried the traditional pork dumplings, and they weren't bad but you could easily get the same thing from the frozen section of Trader Joe's. 2 peanut sauces on the side and an order of pork dumplings was about $10... Bummer because I absolutely love dumplings and think this concept is great. I just think that when the customer service is all on a screen, that puts more emphasis on the need for a phenomenal product and enticing low price-- that's where the impression really counts!

Anthony V.

Yelp
Our cheeseburger dumpling order was RAW. The rest of our dumplings were room temp. Workers seemed indifferent with me bringing it up. Fries were soggy, and atop all this, they are making the customer absorb the surcharge for card usage. Ambiance is mediocre at best. Only thing attracting customers is the novelty of the automat style doors, which only work intermittently per other reviewers. Save yourself the gas. As someplace that specializes in dumplings, disappointed is an understatement.

Sati A.

Yelp
Solid atmosphere + Modernity + decently priced fare = solid addition to E. 6th. The intimate space is both quiet in the late lunch hours but has the room for a conversation or five. The lighting is sufficient enough for me to do a sketch or read a book, or jot a note down without straining my eyes because of bounce lighting or reflections. A big plus in the age of massive natural lighting windows. Ordering isn't confusing, the Kiosks were more than easy to navigate upon entry. A total process that took less than 4 minutes to order what I wanted. (Partially because I looked at the menu beforehand on the website) and the order came out well within 7 minutes. A boon in the almost food desert of E. 6th street during daywalker hours. I ordered the #4 Combo + Can Soda (Coke Zero for double the metal cleaning action with zero sugar ) with Waffle Fries. There are some growing pains which are unsurprising for such a young spot in Austin. The improvement is in the pudding - or rather. My experience reflects the action taken by the guy(s) in charge to make the experience better. So kudos and excellent work to the team. For those of you looking for the TYPICAL DIM SUM EXPERIENCE, this is not the spot. Do not expect that. What you can expect is speedy service, a good culturally rich playlist, and likely a decent lunch solo or with friends/colleagues. FUN fact: The Sriracha isn't the hot kind, it is more of the sweeter flavorful kind. Which is nice for some. Overall I think I can see myself coming here more often now that they are open. 100% recommended to my entire office.

Yelp
Just ate here: 1. Nothing special about any of food we ordered. Less than average dumplings. 4 bottles of sriracha were empty, when asked the employee said that they are out of the large bags to fill them. 2. Very unprofessional employees, sitting in a stool talking to another employee and not helping clear tables. 3. 30minutes to get the food. Not the experience one would except from a dumpling place with the name Brooklyn in it. We were so looking forward to have a good dumpling place in the area. Hope you work on raising the bar here. I didn't want I believe the bad reviews and wanted to give it a chance. Sorry I have to write this but very disappointed. Good luck!

Yelp
I almost walked right by this place and I'm so glad that I stopped in. You order off of a kiosk and a wonderful assistant (Alyssa) helped us with this process just to make sure we saw everything on the menu they had to offer. (And she shared her favorites with us!). The food was great for a quick dinner. The restaurant was clean. And I already told you we had really nice service. if you're in the area, or even if you're not, you can't go wrong checking this place out. Bravo!!

Yelp
I can't believe this place exists. It's criminally bad. Philly cheesesteak dumplings?!

Yelp
Just generally unimpressive fare. Got two kinds of dumplings and could barely tell them apart. Feels uninspired at best.

Yelp
The things to get here: Seared pork potstickers Pork dumplings in soup broth Apple pie dessert dumplings Done super well with good flavor and texture! Definitely order ahead on their website and pick up in store for speedy service and to avoid food app delivery/item up-charges. Space was simple and clean. No employee is out in the seating area so this is probably and introvert's dream! Worth noting we went back the next day to grab more of our favorites!

Yelp
Pretty good, cool setup. The chicken parm and the cheesesteak were great but the rubin was not good imo

Yelp
Not sure why this place hasn't taken off more- fun ordering system, creative dishes and good food. Great service too!
