Brooklyn Heights Promenade

It was a gorgeous walk especially during the sunset time! It feels like a little city looking towards the skyline. I think this turned into my new favorite place in New York City!!

Great place to come and sit down to relax and take in great viwes of lower Manhattan. You can watch the ferries. You have a playground and restrooms available. You can also bring your 4 legged friend too.

Absolutely beautiful views of NYC! It's definitely worth checking out! A must see if you are visiting Brooklyn Heights.

One of my favorite places to visit in Brooklyn! Provides a great scenic view of lower Manhattan at anytime of the day. This place really becomes magical once the sun starts to set. The magnificence of Manhattan provides a spectacular visual experience! Great place to go on a date, get some breeze and relax.

I recently visited the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and it was a great spot to view the New York City skyline, specifically lower Manhattan, from the Brooklyn side, which was a new perspective for me. I've always seen the skyline from Jersey City, but seeing it from Brooklyn was even more beautiful. Although it was raining heavily that day, limitingour enjoyment, the promenade offers a nice lookout with plenty of seating to relax and take in the view of the skyline and the bridge. Definitely worth a visit for the views!

Absolutely terrific! This is a great spot to walk, enjoy the outdoors and pretty trees and flowers. It is very quiet here, peaceful and safe. You can walk also through the beautiful and clean neighborhood and also venture down closer to the water for more walking or cycling. Definitely a must see.

After several trips to Manhattan, we decided to spend more time in Brooklyn and explore as much of the borough as we possibly can. We spent an evening in Bedford Stuyvesant around Christmas and, a few weeks ago, spent the day in the DUMBO district. One of the best parts was Brooklyn Heights Promenade! After walking all day, this was a beautiful, peaceful way to just sit, relax, and take in the amazing skyline. I actually dozed off for a couple of minutes on one of the many park benches that are available. Not a necessarily long promenade or huge park, Brooklyn Heights Promenade provides some of the best views of the East River and Lower Manhattan. It's surrounded by a really nice residential area of Brooklyn and allows you to escape the noise and hustle and bustle of the busy borough. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and there were very few people around. It was very cold and windy along the river, so that may have been the reason, but as the weather warms, I'm sure this is a really popular spot, especially in the evenings. I can only imagine what this view is like at sunset. I want to see that nighttime skyline on our next visit to Brooklyn!

I'll never get tired of the promenade. From the pedestrian-friendly layout to the killer skyline views, it's become an essential part of almost every day for me. I love coming here, alone or with my dog, to wander and clear my mind. It's really easy to access from multiple streets throughout Brooklyn Heights (mostly at or north of Montague), and the northern end leaves you right next to a dog park, and a short walk away from DUMBO/the waterfront. Even if you don't live nearby, the promenade is worth a visit. It's a great way to be close to water and away from the usual city noise.

Keepin it real out here in Brooklyn Heights The promenade is such a popular hidden gem if that makes sense. I never regret making the walk down during my lunch breaks or whenever i'm in the area. The view is one of the best, comparable to the Gantry LIC view imo. The view is always different depending on the time you visit. The sunrise and sunset is truly something else. I hope to one day become those early joggers before sunrise, go out for an early jog and cool down at the promenade to the sunrise.

Great place to take a peaceful walk and enjoy the fresh air, trees and just plain relaxation. You can try to find street parking or park in the small parking lot near the water. It's fun to walk all the way up the stairs, ramp bridge and more hill! There's a great coffee place near by - Kaigo, you can also park for 15 minutes. Enjoy the promenade! Beautiful homes.

Can I rate this place 10 stars? Lol. This spot was pretty much the highlight of my short NYC trip. I visited during the day and night. During the day there was surprisingly not a lot of people here (even for a weekend). Great view of the NYC skyline. Plentiful benches here to sit down and absorb the sight. BUT!! You HAVE to go here at night! The view of the skyline at night here is GORGEOUS! There were only a few people around during this time (mainly locals walking their dogs), so this time can definitely be treated as a recovery period away from all of the hustle and bustle of NYC. Very peaceful (with the white sound noises of cars driving on the Brooklyn Bridge off to the distance). If you're already planning to visit Brooklyn Bridge Park then might as well stop by here (about a 10 minute walk, though got to deal with uphill/downhill elevation change). Pretty accessible via train (also about a 10 min walk from a couple of the train stations nearby).

My Brooklyn Heights promenade is one of the most amazing beautiful sites in yes I stated in NYC. This Brooklyn Gal never gets tired of this iconic landscape in Brooklyn NY USA. Check it out it's amazing.

I am in love with it. I am not here as often as I used to, but it is still one of the best ones. I am happy when I do find time. Usually weekends.

Went for a stroll along Brooklyn Heights Promenade on Saturday afternoon. A wonderful trail and park, which I just wish was longer. Quality: Wonderful views of lower Manhattan along this path. When wandering around this neighborhood, you will inevitable stumble upon the park and want to return whenever in the area. Plenty of places to sit and relax and just take in the city. Quantity: Not a very large park, but always more seats than people. Value: Free to visit. Ambiance: Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a walking trail and path that runs above Brooklyn Bridge Park along the East River. It is not particularly long, but it has tons of seats for people to sit and look out over the water at lower Manhattan. It is also very shady, so a nice spot when it gets too warm to be in the less protected Brooklyn Bridge Park. Crowd: Always busy and filled with people exercising and walking dogs. Service: Clean and well taken care of. Parking: Limited nearby parking, but it can be found.

Really beautiful place to stroll. Great views of the city. Close to soccer fields, beach volleyball courts, and basketball courts. Places to grill by the water and enjoy a picnic. Public restrooms available by the water as well.

I think I am discovering my inner Alvy Singer, exploring every romantic spot in New York City. The promenade is no exception. Standing tall above Brooklyn Bridge Park, this romantic walkway really hugs the East River, and it really brings out the best in Brooklyn outside of the Coney Island amusements. Whether it is the holiday season, or the height of summer, strolling this just feels like a New York thing to do. There is the all the sights to take in, like the Statue of Liberty, the major crossings like the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, Lower Manhattan, the New York Harbor, it just feels like a walking postcard. Because of the ice, I was unable to walk too far on it, but that is going to change. Once I get a nice day, I am going to make it a point to visit and explore more New York parks. This one is included on the list, along with the aforementioned park below the promenade. Yes, it is subway accessible. The 2/3, the R, and the 4 each can get you here. Then just take it all in and enjoy the day.

Brooklyn Heights has a nice place for walking around. It has a promenade along the East River. This goes one for more than a mile, between the overpriced apartments and the river. Looking across the is one of the best parts. There's lots of cool views. Good place to sit and relax and just enjoy. It has a long path along the river. This has some benches facing the river. It sometimes gets crowded. There isn't much grass by the looks of things. It's more of a path than a park. There's plenty of space so you can get some exercise in without taking up any space. It certainly is the best way to see the river in Brooklyn. Lots of things to admire about it. There's beautiful and plentiful skyline views.

I spent all my money in Brooklyn, so now I'm in Brokelyn Heights instead. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is actually one of the most highly regarded things on Yelp, and that's because everybody absolutely loves it. It's got great views of Lady Liberty and of Manhattan and of everything really. As a-ha once sang, the Manhattan Skyline is incredible, and this is one of the best places to see it from. You're only allowed to walk in here, no driving or cycling or shiz. It's next to the BQE so you can expect lots of traffic. Now of course this is a wonderful place to bring a date, and that wonderful place to come and reflect and take pictures and all that stuff. It's magical. It really is.

I absolutely love the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. It's easily the most scenic spot in the borough, providing picture-perfect views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and the Brooklyn Bridge. The Promenade also overlooks Brooklyn Bridge Park, which offers an additional destination to relax and appreciate the vantage points along the waterfront. The pedestrian walkway stretches nearly two thousand feet (1,826 to be exact), and while much of it is a flat, elevated platform, it actually consists of four stories. Despite the somewhat confusing topography, the Esplanade is certainly walkable. It can get crowded, but there's usually enough space for social distancing, and I've never felt uncomfortably close to others. There are several benches lining the path, and people make good use of them, whether they're reading, conversing over coffee with a friend, or just sitting and enjoying the view. Oddly, although the Promenade is built over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, the noise doesn't ruin the calm, reflective atmosphere. If anything, it's a reminder that these peaceful places exist amid the hustle and bustle of everyday life in New York City.

My absolute favorite spot to relax and meditate. The views are amazing, it's quite peaceful and chill. You can easily lose track of time just admiring the views. Perfect for site seeing with views of the Manhattan Skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, and Lady Liberty in the distance. There are plenty of benches for seating and enough space to socially distance. Definitely check it out!

This is one of my favorite places to walk. I love the views here. It is always a peaceful place, although there always seem to be a lot of people here. Parking in this area is super tricky too. Watch out for all of the "no parking signs." Once you get to the promenade though, it is such a great place with amazing views of the city and the water. I'd highly recommend this place!

I imagine my date took me here because he wanted me to fall in love. I fell in love, but not with him. With here, The Promenade. You'll have to be here. Experience it yourself. No words. It's like I was a part of something but apart from everything. I'm lost. He held my hand, I allowed him to. Well everyone (couples) were doing it and I didn't want him to feel left out. I wish I was alone here, to just breathe.... The End.

We found ourselves here totally by accident and I am SO glad we did! The view was absolutely stellar and I loved seeing a more quaint part of the Brooklyn neighborhood. It was quiet, not too crowded and clean. The photos of the NYC skyline made this little side trip worth the time and extra waking, try to make this a stop on your way!

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a magical icon that has received a perfect rating from everyone on Yelp. How can it not? If I had a penny for every step I took through the years at the Promenade from childhood to present day, I would be a millionaire. It's not a park where one can have a picnic. Nor does it have grass to bask in the sun. But, it is one of the most wonderful walkways with a breathtaking view of the NYC skyline. There are many benches along the promenade to take a seat to enjoy it. Like all Brooklyn residents at the time, we not only mourned the loss of many lives in 2001 but also the majestic Twin Towers that were in full view from the promenade. But being Brooklyn strong, we carried on. In no particular order, here is what I love about the Brooklyn Heights Promenade: *Getting in enough steps when walking the promenade from one end to the other. It's quite the stretch *Never getting tired of watching the sun set *Snapping pictures of the beautiful Manhattan skyline *Grabbing coffee, lunch or an ice cream cone solo or with friends *Listening to my Spotify playlist *Recalling fond childhood memories *Admiring the beautiful homes that sit on the promenade *Celebrating good news in my life *Being distressed about something upsetting *Smiling at the cutest dogs and children *Having some great dates in the past *And some bad ones *Watching the tourists snap pictures, selfies and being in awe of the views *Doing some quiet reading *Looking down at the activity going on at Brooklyn Bridge Park *Having 2 hour phone conversations with friends *Doing a lot of thinking *And people watching I consider the Brooklyn Heights Promenade a long time friend.

What a walk, what a view. I'm sure those who live here get inured to the view, but even then, it is a nice walk, benches to sit, and just a relaxing bit of a walk. For a visitor, it is an awesome walk and view. For me, who was staying in the area for three weeks, it never got old. If you are in Brooklyn Heights, make sure you walk this area. Enjoy the view!

Can't beat the view and GREAT photo ops here -- didn't Woody Allen film that iconic scene from "Annie Hall" here where they are sitting on a bench stating what a great city New York is? While you are in the neighborhood -- have a poke around lovely Brooklyn Heights -- they have plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, etc. Yes, it's way more upscale than it was when Woody was here in the '70's -- but it has it's charms. Lovely brownstones to gaze up at too.

Over looking the Brooklyn waterfront and facing unobstructed views of the manhattan skyline. This was the go to spot until Brooklyn bridge park opened up below. It can be a little noisy depending on the traffic on the BQE below

Brooklyn Heights Promenade is an one-third of a mile long walkway with a spectacular skyline view. While the Brooklyn Bridge Park gives you a closer look at the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan's skyscrapers, Brooklyn Heights Promenade offers a different and panoramic view of the entire NYC and the Statue of Liberty at an elevated level. It is located in the most upscale part of Brooklyn called Brooklyn Height and subway stations are within 10 ~ 15 minutes of walking distance. Comparing with the Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Promenade is slightly less crowded. If you are really short on time, then ideally you will want to walk toward the Brooklyn Bridge because 1) there's nothing too see at the end of the Promenade (walking away from the Brooklyn Bridge) and 2) you are walking farther away from the subway stations. Overall this is a great place for a romantic date and photography. P.S. - Brooklyn Heights Promenade has no-bike policy (signs are posted everywhere), but I still saw few cyclists ride on the walkway. You are allow to skate on the Promenade.

One of the best spots for sunset and to view the skyline of Manhattan! If you are in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights is a must see, and the promenade (elevated pedestrian walkway above a highway) is well worth a visit. The only drawback is the trash problem. Overflowing trash cans, and litter all over the place along the promenade. Be sure to walk the full length of the promenade for excellent views of the Brooklyn Bridge on one end and Statute of Liberty on the other end. The Montague is lined with great restaurants for all budgets and some boutique stores. If you are staying in a hotel, Key Food, a supermarket right nearby, is worth a visit. You can get lot of stuff for breakfast and/or picnic and save a lot of money. The supermarket is well stocked and very clean. It's actually more upscale than Whole Foods!

I have come to Brooklyn promenade for many many years as far as I can remember in the early 90s as a kid. Wow how the skyline of Manhattan has changed, but still a beautiful view. I have many memories coming here while growing up with the family, getting a pizza pie and eating here on a Friday summer night from taking family photos and walking the promenade along the bqe. This place never seem to change and still has its charm, this place offers some of the best views of downtown Manhattan. You can jog here, take a walk, sit on a bench, take pictures, or if your in love this is nice place to make out or propose :-) lol This is the place to come to during 9/11 when the towers are lit into the sky at night it is a beautiful thing, a little after the attacks happen the tower lights was lit for months now the city does it ever year on September 11. The promenade is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn maybe in all of New York.

Beautiful view of Manhattan across the water. Plenty of benches to sit with some coffee and breakfast or lunch and enjoy. We were there on a foggy day but still beautiful. Walk along and enjoy all the views.

How good to see that this walk of my school years remains relatively unchanged. Oh, an extending basketball court here, a very changed Manhattan skyline there, yet this place is as it was for a good number of generations. Even the hexagonal paving stones are still intact. One can feel like Cher in Moonstruck, lost in thought on adjacent Cranberry Street, oblivious to the familiar and iconic lower Manhattan view. I recall its peace despite the borborygmus hum of the highway below. The old mansions, which most likely have been altered or razed now, sparked curiosity with their heavy drapes hiding darkened interiors. Did they gaze at the city lights past the water? Did they love this unique and encompassing placement between very two worlds in one city.

Spectacular view of Manhattan and an easy short walk. There was a lot of space and not too many people when I went. Lots of empty benches, but none that were out of the sun, unfortunately. On the left was the great view, but on the right were nice homes and apartments that were also nice to look at.

I like walking in this park. It's a beautiful view! The only downside is the parking lot, which doesn't have a lot of parking space.

This is one of the most scenic spots in NYC. You can hardly even tell it's built over a highway. Fantastic place to come watch the sun set over Manhattan.

This is what makes Brooklyn just a magical place, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. The views of Manhattan are spectacular. Years ago, my brother had a beautiful place on Pineapple st. This area of Brooklyn has always been a high end and expensive area. Do you remember Moonstruck with Cher? The house they all lived in was in Brooklyn Heights. There are no skaters or bikes around the Promenade area, so you can just sit and take in the magnificent views. Heck, even the Huxtable family lived in Brooklyn Heights! Their two-story brownstone at 10 Stigwood Avenue is not a real block in the area but its where they were supposed to live. Growing up in Brooklyn and seeing the same views as a kid. It's something that's forever with me. 10 Yelp stars

Beautiful place to walk you can start from the ramp at the Remsen street entrance to the end of the promenade at Pineapple street - you can walk back too.On the right the well planted blooming flowers and green foliage is calming and on the left the exquisite views of the Manhattan skyline is in complete harmony , reflecting gently with the water.Every footprint a truly cherished experience.

I have been coming to the Brooklyn Heights for quite some years now...Some of the things that I have done included bringing my daughter here to the nearby park when she was a little girl so that she relish in the delights of the park amenities and to have ice cream from the nearest ice cream truck. Some of the things that I continue to do include sitting on one of the benches and always enjoying the beautiful view....I also take this opportunity to have some alone time to reflect as this is something I usually do when I am in peaceful places such as the park and the beach. Seeing the cutest dogs, adorable children and everything in between is an added bonus! The promenade is truly a special place!

In my completely unbiased opinion, Manhattan has one of the most iconic and breathtaking skylines in existence. That being said, Brooklyn Heights Promenade has the absolute best view of that exact skyline! I wandered over here on September 11 which meant the Tribute in Light was making its annual appearance above the skyline. The lights are a hauntingly beautiful reminder of those we've lost on that day and it truly is something that you just really need to take a moment to take in completely. On an ordinary day, the view is amazing just the same. Grab a cone from Ample Hills and stroll down the promenade to enjoy some of the best views Brooklyn has to offer. Or even better, throw on some running shoes and jog it!

Wow this place has one of the best views of the New York sky line and the Brooklyn bridge it's located at the Clark st... just down the road u find this pathway towards this view... The neighborhood around this area too is very classy and upscale and a stroll around too s very relaxing here... Just to avoid the crowd around Bryan park this place s a good stop to enjoy a relaxed view of the skyline... The subway too s very close by so the transport to and from manhattan s very convenient ..

Best spot to view the glorious sunset over lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. A serene place without crowds, bikers or pot-smokers. Ideal for couples, families with young kids and pets. If you are quiet and don't litter, please come back often.

Not as crowded as I had expected it to be! The promenade seems to be more of a locals spot than it is for tourists, which honestly, is the best kind of place to take in NY. We came upon it through a small side street in Brooklyn in the middle of the neighborhood and it was breathtaking at least for an outsider to see the entire cityscape across the way. It's not something you can really do in Hawaii unless you count going up into the mountains and looking down on Waikiki, which dwindles in comparison to the massive space that NYC takes up. Please put it as a must-see on your visit to NY, but if you're a local and you've never been, I'd mark it as a great place to just relax and go for a walk, jog or even have some lunch. The promenade extends down the coast long enough to get a great workout in.

In Breakfast at Tiffanys, Holly Golightly lived her swanky, partying life in Manhattan and called a walk up on the Upper East Side her home. But her creator knew much better, and Truman Capote wrote the book while living in Brooklyn Heights, in an apartment not far from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. I so see why he chose this spot. Few places have captured my imagination like brooklyn heights did. Stunning views of Manhattan, the Brooklyn Bridge the East River; the proverbial brownstone you associate with the area, flowers, trees, street lights. The area was the setting for several different movies and tv shows. I feel sort of lame calling the area "charming" (not a fan of that word or notion) but the place was just that, in the best sense. I so wanted to curl up here and make a little life away from the rest of my world.

Favorite spot in the whole city. Peaceful, well-maintained, and gorgeous! I walk here nearly every day and STILL wish I spent more time here.

Beautiful view of Manhattan's skyline and a perfect spot for running, jogging, biking or walking pets. A photographer or sketch artist dream for the best landscape portaits. I came here once with my Canto Meetup for a movie at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Good view of NYC's man made waterfalls in 2008 which were a complete and total waste of tax payers' hard earn money. Brooklyn Heights Promenade is Brooklyn's treasure!

Absolutely one of the most beautiful, relaxing places in all of Brooklyn, NYC and New York period! The promenade has been a Brooklyn staple forever for those looking to get in some quiet time away from the hustle, bustle of Manhattan and big city life. It's quite amazing that such a serene place actually exists in NYC. On any given day, especially in the Spring, Summer and Fall, there are a number of people either sitting and just appreciating the Manhattan skyline, jogging, walking their dogs, taking a leisurely stroll, reading books or taking pictures. What makes the promenade great too is that it's surrounded by Brownstones in a residential neighborhood so it's away from any big/large noisy streets. If you plan on driving here, you can usually get lucky and find a parking spot not too far off and walk over. Most of the streets surrounding the promenade are very quiet and empty. There is just one negative about the promenade and it really has nothing to do with it is that the BQE is located beneath. As locals well know, there's always heavy traffic on the BQE so there can be some background noise from the cars, but it's not really that audible. It's truly one of my favorite places to go whenever I need some peace and quiet away from the city life. It's almost like you're not even in NYC, except the fact that the Manhattan skyline is staring you in the face. If you've never passed by before, be sure to bring your camera because the promenade provides for plenty of photo opportunities!

I was brought over to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade after picking up some cheesecake from Junior's! It was a lovely spot to enjoy some cake and look out over Manhattan. A lovely place for a stroll or to sit and talk. Great photo ops too! And of course, fabulous for couples at night!

Amazing promenade for walk, jogging, sight-seeing and taking Instagram-able pictures. It is the epitome of the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood and even Brooklyn. You can see the best of Manhattan here - the amazing skyline of FiDi. I often come here for jogging and the view is fantastic - best during the sunset. You can see the complete sunset right and the miniature of statue of liberty next to the glowing setting sun that lights up the entire sky. It can get really windy during the winter so wear extra layers if you want to enjoy the view carefree.

Many a photograph of Manhattan's dynamic, panoramic skyline have been taken from this 1,826-foot esplanade, perched over Interstate 278. With ample bench seating and sprinkled with shade trees and perennials, the Promenade provides a delightful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Easily accessible from Manhattan via the A or C subway lines, it is a popular hangout for both locals and tourists. Additionally, its open 24 hours, so it affords visitors dazzling nighttime views of New York's skyscrapers, plus the Statue of Liberty. Take advantage of this free, wonderful attraction during your next visit to the Big Apple.

Great views of Manhattan skyline. Still miss the Twin Towers. Great place to sit and have a snack. Great to people watch.

My favorite place in all of NYC. The skyline view of Manhattan is incredible. Brooklyn Heights is a great neighborhood, particularly Montague Street, which ends on its west side at the Promenade. Montague Street is mentioned by Bob Dylan in "Tangled Up in Blue." He and Lou Reed both hung in the Heights quite extensively.

Spectacular views of downtown NYC from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. Excellent spot for a pleasant stroll on a beautiful day. I can only imagine the stellar views at night for a romantic walk with that special someone.
