Came here for the first time to try one of their signature sandwiches: Cold Italian on Hero, and it did deliver. A very delicious Italian sandwich. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere chilled. I will definitely comeback here again to try other of their sandwiches.

Honestly was expecting more because their prices are high. I got this fried shrimp sandwich. It was very mediocre, it lacked of flavor, the bread was so dry. It was very expensive for what it is. The service was good! The workers were nice at least.

What a lovely spot! I had the Cold Italian sandwich and it was scrumptious, and if I lived in the neighborhood I would absolutely be there all the time to stock up on pickles and olives and other charcuterie staples. And the sidewalk tables are perfect for people (and dog!) watching

The vibe at Brooklyn Hero Shop is just as good as their sandwiches. I got a Reuben that was out of this world, and my wife raved about the Nashville hot chicken. The staff was so friendly and genuine, making the whole experience really enjoyable. It's clear they care about their customers and their food. If you're looking for a delicious lunch and a welcoming atmosphere, this is your spot.

The sandwiches are amazing. The gluten free bread is very good and hard to find at old school places like these. Rob is the best! I accidentally forgot my backpack and I called the restaurant. Rob went outside and found it and held onto it so I could pick it up.

Steep prices but the sandwiches are extraordinary and the owner is a kind soul. The turkey is roasted in house and the softest juiciest I've ever had in a sandwich. By far the best gluten free roll I've had a sandwich on and no reaction to any cross contamination. We came here from across the country on our honeymoon and have found a place we'll be sure to come back to.

This place is absolutely amazing. The staff is so warm and welcoming. The food is incredible. The smells, music and vibes are top tier. Great job to everyone working here. I’m from Staten Island so Ive been to many Italian deli/store and this place is definitely a great spot to grab and go and get special Italian groceries. Highly recommend.

I came here with a friend after roaming around the neighborhood while we waited for our table at Evelina. We walked in and immediately were drawn to the great selection of pantry items they had (sucker for colorful labels as well). I’m not a big cook so it kind of inspired me to want to try some recipes just to incorporate some of the items we saw. After looking around for a bit we walked out and decided we definitely wanted to come by another time to check out the sandwiches, well that some time turned into a few hours later when we got hungry again and wrangled our other friend to come to the shop with us. While looking at the menu the guy behind the counter was super nice and asked what we were in the mood for, while we looked over the wide selection of sandwiches he gave me a taste of the buttermilk fried chicken in the Korean sauce they had and WOW it was soooo tasty and juicy. I ended up getting the Korean fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickled onions. My friends both got the friend whiting sandwich and they absolutely loved it. Call us creatures of habits but we ended up going back again the next day to try another sandwich because we were craving it so much! 1 whiting sandwich, 1 shrimp po boy and I got the chicken cutlet with Calabrian chili aioli and wow, someone needs to bottle that chili aioli and sell it! So happy to have such a nice neighborhood spot (just discovered it but I see they’ve been open since 2021) with such amazing customer service and great sandwiches. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

I'm not a huge fan of heros (because I prefer a pressed sandwich) but Brooklyn Hero Shop has my heart! I usually only get the Fried Shrimp Po Boy Roll but the menu is full of options that seem delicious. I love trying the full menu at places that I like so me sticking with that one sandwich should let you know how good it is. Besides the food, I love that they have some high quality and unique goods for sale inside. It's a cool little pantry. Also, the staff members have good energy whenever I visit. I love everything about the small but mighty Brooklyn Hero Shop and hope everyone gets a chance to visit.

To start I'm leaving one star off ONLY for price in this gentrification age of over exposed Brooklyn white wash world but not for quality! Mostly awesome staff, great deals on Uber and GotoGo and almost always not too much of a wait for what sometimes in other places could take ten to fifteen minutes to have made not including line time. Food here is almost always on par with what you're looking at...really really good stuff. In other words it taste what it looks like. No disappointments for having to drop usually almost 15+ for a sandwich. I've always said just give me what I paid for if not a deal and I'll be at least content if not happy. You wanna be happy...go on uber or GoodToGo and strike one of their more than fair deals going on on those apps. My ONLY request for at least the chicken parm sandwich is a tad more cheese and sweet & salt whilst it and slightly less sauce. Other than that, pastries great, bread good, other fare from Italy pretty damn good variety and quality. They also have some cutting edge innovative sandwich ideas that are usually found at those horrific foodie events in those much more hipster hell holes along the G train but here you'll find them without the lunatic asylum and mental cases. Yes I'm a burnt out original Brooklynite Cuban Italian who grew up HERE IN FORT GREENE *not "Clinton Hill...and as much as I hate most of the over rated garbage coming into my neighbourhood thanks to these Gentrifiers. This is not the situation here whatsoever this place is owned by an original Brooklyn from across the borough who came over here to better the place and keep it well yes Brooklyn!

Charming little sandwich shop in Brooklyn! The menu holds a great selection of sandwiches and more. You're guaranteed to find something to your liking. They were so sweet to me as I was deciding what to try. They let me sample a piece of their grilled chicken and the broccoli rabe - while giving me some recommendations from the menu. The grilled chicken was well season and cooked perfectly. The Broccoli rabe was pretty good. I ended up getting a chicken parm hero for my son and a chicken club on a roll for myself. I placed my order to go. My son and I enjoyed the sandwiches at home. The chicken cutlets were so fresh, with the perfect crispiness. I really enjoyed the garlic aioli and the sauce ithe chicken parm was pretty good too! The sandwiches were made to order and it didn't take long for them to be made. It gave me enough time to take a walk around the store and explore the store. I decided to try a peach juice that I saw in their refrigerator. It was a semi sweet, light juice consistency - I placed it in a glass with ice and hit the spot.

Excellent, flavorful sandwiches on fresh bread. Eggplant Parm 9/10 It is filled with thin sliced and fried eggplant, covered in great tomato sauce and some cheese. It has the right combination of flavors. Wagyu roast beef 9/10 This is high quality meat! Even though this is technically a wagyu roast beef, it is more like the best Philly cheese steak you ever had. I've eaten all of them in Philly and this is better. Sausage and broccoli rabe 8/10 The sausage is excellent. It's sweet, savory, and everything you want in a sausage. Taste like it was home made. Order online to save time. They have a lot of fun goods, snacks, and drinks in the grocery section. Don't stand around too long, the smell of the spices etc from the kitchen will get to you.

Amazing amazing amazing! This sandwich hit the spot! The people behind the counter were very nice and patient while we looked through the menu. I came in from a different neighborhood but I felt they knew their frequent customers, and had friendly atmosphere.

This delicious Hero Shop hits the spot when you need a quick bite. A sandwich that not only comes with flavor but comes so filled with meat just right. Nice calming as soon as you walk through the doors. Very friendly and inviting staff. It does not just stops with the sandwiches you have the shelves that fully stocked with fresh pastas, cheeses and desserts. Outdoor seating and parking on street.

As far as heroes go this place is un-matched. They do so many things so well. And have like 20 different well thought out combinations. Staff and owners are real New Yorkers so the place has the feel and quality of an establishment that has been here for 50 years and will be for 50 more. Chef's Kiss*

My second time ordering from here. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Hero. Amazing! It was an ample amount of chopped steak with the onions and melted cheddar cheese on a fresh hero with seeds. I was impressed. Wrapped in wax paper to keep it all in place. You can tell they take pride in their hero's. It arrived hot and it was a great sized hero. It was the perfect hero. I will definitely be back.

- so many options in a good way - $15-20 sandwiches - friendly service - I loved the bread - brisket is delicious - can get busy - quick turnover - no American cheese - I gotta go back and get tat fried shrimp

This sub shop knows how to make a sandwich. The bread had the perfect crisp exterior and soft center. The meats were sliced so thin, to perfection. The lettuce, peppers and vinaigrette added the perfect tang and heat. One call out for the Italian sandwich - if anyone else made a silly mistake like me, it comes with prosciutto cotto which is essentially thin sliced ham (when I ordered it I was picturing prosciutto di Parma). Alas, I am not normally a prosciutto cotto lover and I absolutely loved this sub! I have been to the shop previously, and it is very cute with so many options for drinks and chips to go with your meal, along with fun artisan Italian goods. This time I ordered delivery and they were timely with the order, no small feat on a busy Sunday in Brooklyn!

My love runs deep for Brooklyn Hero. The nicest people work here and the food is so good as well as the little Italian market. I'll often be somewhere else in the city wishing for a place like this to have some lunch but you can't find anywhere like it with this kind of quality. So glad this gem is in my neighborhood. 5 stars every time.

Grabbed a chicken farm and italian combo for the flight home and they were just what the doctor (not an actual doctor) ordered in terms of something that kept well and tasted good even a bit cold. I wouldn't say either sandwich broke new ground but they played the hits well.

This spot is a great option if you have a craving for a good Italian sandwich. The cold Italian is probably the best thing on the menu - it's stacked with quality meats & toppings and the portions are big enough for two people to split. Definitely ask for their calabrian spread or aioli on the side - both are delicious! I recently tried their brisket philly too - it was good, but waaaay too greasy & rich. I'd stick with their cold hero selection.

Shrimp po boy is incredible, very tasty and perfect proportions. Freshly fried, huge shrimp, and well seasoned. The aioli, arugula, and tomatoes are all fresh and super delicious, I've only had the shrimp po boy here even though I want to try everything else on the menu, I keep going back to the shrimp. Bread is on point - nice, soft, chewy seeded roll that holds the ingredients well. Great ambiance and super friendly staff who treat you like welcome guests and are genuine. Offered a free espresso shot while I waited - nice touch! Shop is super cute and feels like a small Italian specialty shop with special items you don't usually see elsewhere. Will be back often to try the other sandwiches.

Great little place with a large sandwich selection! It's a nice mix of modern sandwich place that fits seamless with the surrounding brownstone vibe. A small grocery area inside has a decent amount of boutique Italian groceries. Sandwiches are a little pricey, but not insane for the neighborhood. Plenty of outdoor seating to get your sandwich to go and eat outside. We got an eggplant Parm hero and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both were really good, high quality ingredients for sure. Cheese on Parm was perfect, but sauce was a little mild, we'll try spicy one next time for more flavor. Nashville hot was really flavorful, though actual heat was only a little over mild. Fried chicken was really good! We'll for sure be back regularly when we have the craving!

The cold Italian might be the best sandwich in New York.... Espresso is great too and their selection of Italian groceries are like no where else around. The staff treat you like family too - love visiting here!

Great place for a sandwich! They have MANY options to choose from - perhaps too many! I had the Chicken Parm sandwich and it was great. Very tasty and very filling. Service was fairly quick, even during the lunch hour. Pricing was what you'd expect in this nice area of Brooklyn, so OK.

We've moved a little further from BHS and today I had a huge craving for a sandwich and was so sad because I couldn't walk down the street to pickup, so I ordered the chicken bruschetta via delivery. It came earlier than the ETA, perfectly warm and not at all soggy- the perfect amount of vinaigrette. This sandwich is SO GOOD. Might be my new favorite in the lineup!!

I'm not sure if the Vanderbilt's live nearby, but judging by the prices at the Brooklyn Hero Shop they can't be far. I stumbled upon Brooklyn Hero Shop accidently while I was on my bicycle. The shop is very nice and the staff were more than happy to tell me about everything. I opted for a Speck and Burrata hero. The plusses are that the bread was very fresh, the Speck was delicious, and the Tomato's were very tasty. I think that Burrata has gotten too popular and that the Balsamic glaze was unnecessary. My bill was $17.00, and the value $14.00. Thank U next!

Just wanted to drop a quick review because being kind goes a long way! I did not eat here (though my friend highly recommends it!) some friends and I were on a very long run - training for the nyc marathon, and we had run out of water. We weren't close to any public water fountains so we popped in and asked for a cup of water. The server didn't hesitate and gave us two cups of ice water. Thank you! :)

Placed an order for pickup and it was ready when I arrived. They appear to be supported by the residents in the neighborhood which is a good sign.

Chipped my tooth!! Clam shells in a meatball chipped one of my teeth and left me in a good bit of pain. Manager didn't have much to say. Do y'all know how much dental work costs!? Y'all need to get it together. Meatball was overpriced and nothing special.

Big fan! Delicious sandwiches and friendly staff. They are also dog-friendly which makes it convenient when picking up our orders. The only reason for the 4 stars is that it is pretty pricey... but I'm sure it ain't cheap to run a business like that so I also sort of get it. The sandwiches are pretty generous though... I wish they had a half sandwich option!

Another overhyped and overpriced spot in the neighborhood. I was excited to try based on the good reviews but I guess a lot of people have bland taste as the sandwich was nothing special at all especially for the price. My order was also completely wrong even though the shop wasn't busy at all. I tried to look up the sandwich that they gave me but couldn't even find it on the menu...sigh

I rock with this spot heavy. Their ingredients are quality, the ratio of them and balance of flavor is spot on. Controversial to some of the previous reviews they have great customer service. I call in most of my sandwiches ahead of time and they've been correct with my additions or subtractions of ingredients on my sandwich (I don't eat dairy). I appreciate they're in the neighborhood.

Fantastic sandwiches. Very fresh ingredients and flavorful. Eggplant great and chicken sandwiches moist and expertly balanced with veggies and toppings. Staff pleasant and service excellent. Will definitely make this is a regular stop for me and my family. Also appealing space and ambiance!

I came here for the first time yesterday, and was impressed with the Philly Sandwich I had with cherry peppers. Good ratio of meat to onions, well cooked and seasoned. Staff was quick, and the person taking my order was friendly enough. I think the prices are on the higher side even for NYC, but the store front was nice, and everything seemed really fresh.

Just tried this out, had a Turkey Philly. I ordered in person, but when I got it the cheese was already coagulated. The turkey was Boar's Head. Not worth anywhere near $18. Maybe $9. Plus the counter lady's attitude sucked. Welcome to the hood! Never going back.

All the ingredients they use in the sandwich are super fresh, the bread is delicious. A 10/10 sandwich made promptly. The store has a really cool selection of delicacies that makes you want to come back and try more things.

Walked by and it looked so good I stopped. Everyone paid attention to me as I ordered and paid. The food was really good and high quality. Now I know I can order online and pick it up. I'd go out of my way to go back as I live in the neighborhood and am totally up for supporting this local business as long as they maintain this standard. If you want fingernail sized meat and cheese that tastes like paper for $7 then go to Subway.

Such an awesome sandwich shop! The spicy chicken panini sandwich was delicious and they have a great variety of drinks and other items. The patio outside was a great spot to stop and relax. The staff was SO nice and accommodating (bringing waters outside, welcoming in the shop, tending to patio, etc)

This shop is a hidden gem. The staff is cool and the location is fine. BUT the food is immaculate! You will have more than one sandwich as your favorite.

I love this place! The sandwiches are great, the staff is super friendly and the shop itself is friggin adorable. Also the tiramisu is my favorite. Really charming shop with great food, dried goods/pasta, and they always give our dog a treat. She loves them too. Really happy this place is in our neighborhood

I lived in Brooklyn for so long and i love a good sandwich shop. It's been hard to find one these days! Except I ordered the Korean BBQ sandwich from Brooklyn Hero Shop and it was so flavorful, it was juicy and crispy! And everything that came on it complimented it very well. I highly recommend!

The patio is nice, but the young woman cashier/barista was incredibly rude. Like so over the top it seemed like there must be a hidden camera somewhere. I had to laugh. I worked in customer service for years and it's an important role that can make or break a business. I won't be coming back.

After reading the reviews for this place, I was pretty excited to try a sandwich from here but it turned out to be pretty mediocre for the price. I ordered the chopped cheese with avocado and red peppers which enhanced the taste but again brought the sandwich to over $20 which it definitely was not worth. The ambiance of the spot, however, is really nice. They have desserts which are amazing and decently priced. I would recommend the donuts or the cookies although I've heard the tiramisu is to die for. Overall, I don't think this is a place I would frequent for a sandwich but I'll definitely be back for dessert.

The heros are good ok, but I didn't find them special. The sandwiches are very overpriced and the staff is not kind at all :( I wish I were able to like this place.

Extremely rude service, overpriced, and average tasting - especially the sandwich bread. I recently ordered a cup of lentil soup as I was in a rush; I was told to wait outside for it. Expecting a quick to go cup, as literally every other Italian spot does, I had to wait for 15-20 minutes before I went inside to ask for an update. God forbid their staff interacts with their customers, as they were so rude and couldn't understand why I was asking about the status of a cup of soup. Only to tell me that it's still being made and it will be even longer. Huh? Then put a sign up or give any indication to the customer of wait time when they order. Spare me the "fresh to order" rationale - it wouldn't have been better than a can of Chef Boyardee anyways because no matter how "fresh", it wouldn't taste good because the service and experience would've ruined it. I cancelled and got a refund of $1 bills and a lot of attitude, because they're also petty. They're going for the charmed Italian deli, but don't execute on what a good, local, Italian spot actually is or does (don't be fooled by the imports); it misses the mark so completely that I'll never be going back. Read the other reviews as well because I know my terrible experience isn't unique. Go to Russo's or Sanpanino's instead - you'll be much happier.

Unpretentious, classic and delicious. Every once in a while we all need a meatball parm.

I went to BK Hero shop and Loved it! The owner was behind the counter and helped me select my sandwich. Power move, he made sure to recommend chicken cutler over grilled chicken in the broccoli rabe sandwich and it was awesome. The woman behind the counter was also great, realizing we had a big order and giving us a free espresso to carry our 12 sandwiches home.

I really wanted to like this place as a new (and needed!) addition to the neighborhood, and have tried it many times now, but the food is pretty mediocre, especially for the price. The ingredients are all good (tender chicken, quality tuna, etc) so it's a shame that the "composition" is lacking... I had a super dry chicken parm today (so little marinara!), my husband's Reuben had no Russian dressing, and in the past I've found both the tuna melt and tuna panini dry and under-toasted. I do also find it a little odd that they put cherry tomatoes on everything instead of normal sliced and their chip selection is not good...but most upsetting is that they charge $9.99 for a Kid's Grilled Cheese!!?
