The 15 Best Vegan & Vegan-Friendly Restaurants In Atlanta

"We’re still questioning if the restaurant’s “Spread Love, it's the Brooklyn way” mural is an expansion cry or just an ode to the B.K., where this small tea and coffee chain originated. Either way we’re not mad at it since we can sip from a wide selection of teas, chomp down on sugar cookies pressed in the mold of Biggie’s face, and enjoy vegan breakfast items all day. There’s no BEC, but their plant-based sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on a soft, chewy english muffin is the main reason we’re regularly here, joining other remote workers and AUC students who have made this cozy Castleberry Hills cafe their workspace hang." - nina reeder, demarco williams, juli horsford

My experience at this spot was top tier! From the time we stepped foot inside the vibes were amazing. The lady gave us a thorough breakdown of all the delicious teas available and explained some of the benefits. Awesome customer service. We ended up getting the Cucumber Melon Green Tea Latte and the Coconut Bao Zhong Oolong Tea Latte and they were amazing! Additionally, we had one of the vegan breakfast sandwiches which were also delicious! I highly recommend trying this place out!

I was greeted upon entry with a warm welcome. I was asked if this was my 1st time and offered a couple of different samples. I ended up getting a hot tea, blueberry muffin, Biggie cookie and a chai latte to go. Everything was superb. The blueberry was warm and fresh. The Biggie cookie was very tasty. The staff and owner were very attentive and personable.

I randomly found Brooklyn Tea while I was taking a walk during my visit to Atlanta. I went in and was really warmly welcomed by Neilson and Rocke, who let me sample some teas, explained to me a bunch of the different kinds, and then made me perfect iced teas. I had the Assam and the Kyoto Cherry Rose Sencha, with a little cane sugar. Both so good, and the chicken salad waffle was great. But the best part of Brooklyn Tea was that then I sat at the counter and had a really fun conversation about my trip, life, serious and unserious stuff with Neilson and Rocke. They're just such warm people. I'd go to this place every single morning if I lived in Atlanta. Well, I had one more day in Atlanta so the next morning I went back. This time Nicole served me and was also lovely. I got the White Peach and the Alishan Oolong, with a cherry danish on the side. Again delicious teas and the danish was so good warmed up. Perfect space to prep for a morning lecture! I want to come back to Atlanta as soon as I can just to go here every morning, try all their other teas, and enjoy the immaculate vibes of the staff.

Today's classroom: Brooklyn Tea! Made my way to study + finish school work at Atlanta's Brooklyn Tea. A vibe from the very first step. Black + slate with a splash of green, it gave sophisticated, rooted and flourishing! There was creativity everywhere, from the merchandise display, to the drinks + pastries offered and the bright staff! As a yoga teacher, I always ask myself, "Could I teach a class here?" If the answer is "yes", I know it's a place of peace, growth + light. The answer: YES The tea sampler's were phenomenal and gave a good variety of blends. The chocolate on chocolate cupcake was insanely delicious and she even heated it up for me first! The owner, Kerri, was welcoming, joyful and inviting. I could hear her speaking so highly of her staff and what they bring to the team! We stayed until about 5 minutes before they closed + I didn't feel rushed or like they hated us for it. As a retail leader, customer experience is always important to me and Cherlin was top notch. She was knowledgeable about the offerings + benefits of each of the teas. She made intentional suggestions for yummy combinations + was able to keep smiles + conversations going with several of us at the register seeking her assistance. Already have a date set this week to go back!

Let’s start with the decor, nice, sleek, and pleasing to the eye. From the street signs on the walls to the paintings of some of the greatest that came from Brooklyn, you will definitely feel that Brooklyn vibe. When you walk in your met with a wall lined with about 50 different tea’s and coffee, with the option to have them hot or iced. But wait, you can’t forget about the decedent pastry’s to go along with your beverage. They offer a variety of pastry options from cupcakes, muffins, danishes etc. For all you Vegans out there, they didn’t forget about y’all, they have about 3 different vegan waffle options. Overall, this place was a great vibe, if you need a place to chill, a place to sit, or unwind from a busy day. Brooklyn Tea is the place for that.

Google
It’s a yes for me and I will return. My friend and I visited as soon as they opened on Sunday and we were second in line to order. Street parking was ample and free. Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. 2 breakfast sandwiches + blueberry muffin + 2 coffees for $28 (not all items purchased were photographed). Food was very tasty. Drinks were good, too. Vegan sausage and cheese sandwiches were bomb and tasted like an animal product. Be sure to ask what they have when you walk in as not all menu items are available every day. As for the temperature inside the shop, it was nice and cool when I arrived at 1030am but did warm up a bit as noon approached which is when we decided to head out. Will certainly return in the future.

Google
Brooklyn Tea offers outstanding beverages, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere for a café experience. For coffee lovers, the Double Dutch is a must-try. It is a finely crafted iced coffee that is truly amazing. The food menu includes "The Blueprint" breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Although it is not mind-blowing, it is good and will fill you up if you haven't eaten all day. If you're not a fan of vegan cheese, you can order the sandwich without it and ask for syrup on the side. Cut the sandwich into bite-size pieces and dip it into the syrup for a delicious treat. The blueberry waffles are also highly recommended. Their chocolate chip cookies are nothing special, but the "Biggie" cookie is a must-grab. It pairs perfectly with a cup of tea. Speaking of tea, the peppermint tea my husband tried was fantastic and had a rich, refreshing taste. The ambiance is quiet and spacious enough to work on your laptop. There was an older couple reading, a group of three people having a meeting, and a few women working on their laptops. The staff is friendly, respectful, kind, and polite. Brooklyn Tea is a little gem in Castleberry that you're sure to enjoy!

“Spread Love It’s The Brooklyn Way”When a Brooklyn girl gets a piece of Brooklyn in Atlanta aaahh, This place is so welcoming and an added bonus is that they have all vegan everything!!! Oh yes they did remix a BK breakfast sandwich and make it all vegan 🙌🏾 I don’t have a photo cause I tore that vegan sausage egg and cheese up! It was sooo good😋. What I loved most besides my tea and breakfast sandwich was the warm welcome I received from both the General Manager LaTresha and the owner Kerrie. We chatted about community Brooklyn and the importance of supporting each other ! I absolutely love this place and it is my new away from home work space. The music, the food, and staff who is patient if you have questions about the menu. Make sure you go to the smelling station to smell the tea blends. And attend the Block Party in May !!!

Yelp
I loveee this place! Such a wide variety of teas with their health benefits listed. The workers are very friendly & knowledgeable of the variety of teas. I would come every morning if I could.

Yelp
My daughter and I were near by and decided to check out one of the few black owned tea shops in Atlanta. Unfortunately, the time we stopped by, we had already eaten so decided to partake in some great tea. And when I mean tea, Black, White, Green, herbal...you just about name it and they serve it. The service was prompt, polite and knowledgeable!! And who doesn't love a piece of Brooklyn in Atlanta with many vegan items on the menu and BABY, BABY, Biggie cookies. The ambiance reminded me of a cozy, NY cafe with great artistic talent posted here and there, even the chalkboard. The only downfall is the PARKING!!! Be prepared to circle the block a few times if you want to park close.

Yelp
Good vibes all around! Soothing atmosphere and great service greets you at the door beckoning you to come to the counter and sample creative concoctions. You will love the samples and ready to buy loose leaf teas. Don't have a pot to brew? No worries! You can purchase cast iron tea sets to begin your collection. I found various teas to enjoy at home from ginger, hibiscus, earl grey and traditional white or black teas for many health and mood benefits. I do wish there were other breakfast options besides an all vegan menu but trying something new is a key to living!

Yelp
Visited the Brooklyn Tea Company on a Saturday Morning. I made the reservation a week in advanced for the High Tea. Upon walking in, I loved the whole vibe and aesthetic. Simple but bold, a perfect little place to work alone or with friends. Although I made a reservation, the staff was not prepared. The staff mentioned that the manager was on her way and had my high tea reservation and selections. Once the manager arrived, we were quickly informed that many of the items that I had preselected (chicken salad sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches) were not available due to a delivery mix up. While we waited for our food selections our tea was brought out. The tea cups, plates and tea pot were so beautiful and delicate. The tea (masala chai) was deliciously aromatic. We asked for steamed oat milk which took a long time to arrive because one of the staff members forgot that I had asked. Once I had the milk and honey the tea was absolutely delicious. The high tea snacks finally came out and were tasty. Overall, I'm hesitant to visit again just for the customer service pieces. I feel like my high tea was put together in a rushed manner, and though there was no other customers, everything took so long to come out.

Yelp
Such a wonderful Black-owned biz to support in Atlanta! I'm one of those people who can always be found with 2 or 3 different types of drinks nearby me at all times. And in recent years, I've been getting more into my tea bag (all pun intended), and am so happy that I was introduced to Brooklyn Tea when I moved to Atlanta. With a name like Brooklyn Tea, there should be no surprise at the interior decor that features large paintings of Brooklyn's finest including Notorious BIG, Mr. Beyoncé Knowles - Jay Z, Spike Lee and other greats. A cozy spot in Castleberry Hill, there are a few tables available and comfy couches for a few customers, not a spot for a large group meeting but perfect for a cozy visit. When I visit, I love to get comfy and work at one of their hallway tables as the wifi is fast, the service amazing and the menu keeps me going. My favorite drink to order is the Wellkanda and the pastries and breakfast sandwiches always make for a great visit. If you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?!

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop. The Danish was just what I needed and I loved the ambiance of it.

Yelp
This place is so cute! When you dine in they give you a whole tea pot with an hourglass to time how long to steep it. Cute ambiance, nice vibe. Good place to catchup with a friend.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite tea shops! And it's Black owned! There are so many teas to choose from, as well as breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. It's a great place to meet up or work. And I love the art on the walls.
google avatar

La'chelle S.

Yelp
This shop is such a great addition to my weekend routine! Brooklyn Tea is right down the street from my house and it has been great having this type of option so close to home. The art and decor is such a vibe, clean and the staff are always on point! They offer Teas, Coffee and baked goods that all great...My recommendation is the White peach tea and a chocolate chip cookie! This space is great for remote worker to come to get out the house and still be productive as it not loud. Street parking is always available with no issues.

Yelp
Coming Into Brooklyn Tea for the first time and I wasn't disappointed. They had young ladies outside giving out samples. Which I kindly didn't mine partaking in all samples . I ending up buying the turmeric tea. It was full of flavor and refreshing. The store itself is very nice with some seating to have conversations or just read or get some work done. I highly recommend Brooklyn Tea.
google avatar

Yelp
10/10 would recommend came here in the evening to get some work done. The drink in this photo was one curated by the kind worker (he has dreads), nice personality, and you can tell he enjoys being here. For the drink all I know is it is a coconut oolong (I think) drink I got a level 3 sweetness. If that employee is here when you come then ask for a suggestion. The drink is warm, sweet, gives me cozy feeling!

Yelp
Super dope spot offering tea and light foods like muffins, cookies, breakfast sammies. My favorite thing about this place was the tea of course, but the staff was super cool and helped me make some selections as it was my first time there. I was not overly impressed with any one particular thing but I do like the decor and kind staff. If you are into tea then this place is for you but its also a cool place to chill, unwind and maybe get some work done on the computer. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Just right.

Yelp
Super cute inside and has a nice, calm, laid back vibe. The prices were a bit on the higher end for what they offer. We got the vegan sausage & cheese breakfast sandwiches (one with vegan egg; one without)- They were smaller, not as hearty and more expensive than the one at SBX. The coffee and teas were good although on the sweeter side. The service was friendly and accommodating. I do appreciate that they have both vegan and non-vegan pastry options. If already in the area, I'd probably visit again just because of the service...but not something I'd go out of my way to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
A bomb black-owned tea house that's far from average. This places oozes character and the essence of Brooklyn from the decor to the menu. The vibe here is just as pleasing as the tea and baked goods. The coconut oolong and mango paradise teas are both the perfect blend of sweet, light and refreshing. I happily sipped both until the last drop. The Notorious BIG shortbread cookies are just as yummy as they are cool to look at. They have a delicious buttery taste and a nice crunch to the texture. Brooklyn Tea is a great spot to go out and do something different aside from the average Atlanta brunch and day party scene. Perfect for a meet up, working remotely or simply enjoyable alone time. The type of place you go to when you want to get out of the house but keep it chill.

Yelp
Was very happy to participate in the Yelp Elite event here! i really enjoyed the tasting of the 3 teas they had as samples, especially the Caramel Pu'erh tea, which i ended up purchasing. As a Brooklyn native who's been to the flagship location, i was happy to see that they've created a comparable space here that is similarly calm, inviting, and pays homage to some of our Brooklyn icons. Despite enjoying the teas, i must remark that on the Sunday i went, there was one poor young lady working by herself who had to manage the Yelp Elites showing up, the tea sampling, and the random customers who visited as well. This led to a bunch of delays and her seeming quite exhausted just having to attend to everyone. i commend her for getting it all done, but the prolonged wait time and her being overwhelmed didn't make for the best first impression of this ATL location. Overall, it was a good visit and i did enjoy the teas & complimentary Biggie cookie. i look fwd to returning and hopefully having a better experience.

Yelp
Had tea here I had a raspberry blend that was Pretty tasty when I sampled it. I had them add honey to it and I liked it better unsweetened but that's for my taste. The blend was very nice in its original flavor. The original price is very nice and the the people were very receptive. We were greeted on entry and made to feel welcome there.

Yelp
I love the vibe here!!!! Went the first day and it was packed. Went back during the week and it was a vibe. Ppl were working all over, munching and sippin! I had the Biggie Cookie, which was delicious. A bagel with vegan cream cheese, couldn't even tell it was vegan. Peach cobbler was good, but sweet! Get the vegan ice cream to balance it out. Peppermint and Ginger tea. Talk about a kick to the throat. It was real ginger! I'll be back!
google avatar

Tamika L.

Yelp
This is a vibe! Greeted by Biggie and JayZ on the wall and friendly energy from the cashier, I knew this was a place I would enjoy. I tried the hot tea samples and then went over to the smelling wall to make my decision. I decided on the vanilla rooibos with honey. Of course I had to add a Biggie sugar cookie. If I lived closer, this would be my daily morning routine. I'm definitely coming back to try a few more flavors... and more cookies.

Yelp
10/10 experience at @brooklyntea yesterday!! Like I lowkey wanna go back today the vibes are immaculate, very cute inside, helpful staff, and genuinely one of the best cups of tea ever (that lavender early grey is a new fave!) yall - GO VISIT! Would also be a good place to work hybrid or remote for a little bit if you needed a change of pace.
google avatar

Yelp
Visiting for a day. Very cute cafe with good vibes and music Coffee was ehh. Thought it would be a quick breakfast muffin/sandwich with coffee trip but my friend and i were there for 1 hour. 30 min of that was waiting for our beverages and food since there was only 1 person working. They were out of literally almost every food item. My friend ordered a breakfast sandwich which she said was mediocre. Other people came in after the "rush" and the barista told customers they can't make anymore breakfast sandwiches.
google avatar

Shasta D.

Yelp
Cool, calm and safe. The space is setup to have a intimate moment with self or fellowship with beautiful strangers around you. With culture, the smells of the teas and treats you will definitely have a good time here. Bring your current book or just vibe to the soft playing music behind you. I was able to try the mango paradise tea, Biggie cookie and chocolate chip (my favorite) and all of it was delicious. This place is a little gem around the corner from a hectic Mercedes stadium
google avatar

Precious B.

Yelp
Stopped in here for tea lattes and it was beyond disappointing. We ordered the cream earl grey tea and the Well Kanda Tea and they both completely lacked flavor and appeal. It tasted like water. The establishment itself is tastefully decorated but no AC in 80 degree weather serving tea is disappointing.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
This is the one of my favorite places to come for tea, networking, and good vibes. Both of the owners are fellow Spelman College alumnae, and I love that they employ students from the AUC and local Atlanta colleges/universities. The decor is impeccable, and a nod to their Brooklyn heritage. The peach cobbler (I had it warmed with vanilla ice cream) was AMAZING and I had a few of their teas, iced. The prices are extremely reasonable, and you actually get a bigger bang for your buck than Starbucks (shhh, don't tell them lol). I love the healthy snack options that still taste like real food and fill you up. You're bound to run into people that you know while in there or meeting someone new. The service was also great---the spot was super packed but the lone server was so friendly, remembered my name, and moved as quickly as he could. VERY impressed with the customer service. Definitely go check it out! You get to support a new, Black-owned business and you get to get your tea fix :)

Yelp
This place is such a VIBE. I'm really happy that they chose Atlanta as their first location outside of Brooklyn. As a tea lover, I was thoroughly impressed by the huge selection they offer. The menu is extensive and well rounded. I had the Wellkanda (sp?) along with a chocolate chip cookie and the biggie butter cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was okay, but the biggie cookie was delicious! I bought two loose leaf teas to try at home: Afropunk and The Healer. I'm looking forward to returning!

Yelp
Let me just say this place is is gorgeous inside. So well designed. I frequently visit Brooklyn Tea in Brooklyn (where I live), but I really loved the layout of this location! I'm not from here, so it's hard to say if it's in a good area, but seemed to be well located. I walked in, and within ~8 mins, two people told me someone would be right with me (the woman who can in after me must have waited 15 by the time I was done). I placed a pickup order ahead of time because I was in a rush, and when I got there, quickly realized I hadn't ordered soon enough because they hadn't seen or started the order yet. Pro tip: if you ever order ahead, give it 30 mins at least, this isn't a quick type of place. I was kinda surprised they hadn't started on my drinks so I had to cancel part of my order because it would've taken too long. There was only one girl making drinks so It felt like it took even longer. I got two Vanilla Rooibos (one of my go-to's, and they were delicious), and one latte. The latte wasn't good unfortunately, it tasted really watered down. This was my first time getting a latte from here so maybe that's how they make them, but it's not something I'd recommend (the if us tried it). I'm a big fan of Brooklyn Tea so regardless, so I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town, I just had a different experience here. I would recommend coming here to sit down or work, as many people were -- it's just not a spot where you can quickly grab something and go if that's what you're looking for.
google avatar

Yelp
As the official Duke of Brooklyn Tea, (I don't like to brag), I would like to welcome you to my fav tea house on the Hill. I've frequented this place so many times, I had to take out a second mortgage to finance my addiction. I'm hooked on the home made vegan waffles, dependent on the dozen expertly crafted loose leaf teas I've bought, and completely obsessed with the service. These ladies rock!
google avatar

Shan S.

Yelp
My first time here and it's beautiful easy to find i had the well kanda iced tea and it was delicious the service was AMAZING and the biggie short bread cookies ARE A MUST!!! they sell tea too which is a a great idea! Parking was a nightmare but that all goes out the window once you taste the tea! Can't wait to come back when it's warm so i can sit outside!!!!
google avatar

Meka D.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this tea spot especially since it is a black woman owned business. I loved the vibe and the decor. It definitely has a cozy feel. I was able to try out some tea samples before purchasing. I ordered the tropical green tea and a Biggie cookie. Both were delicious. I also bought some tea leaves to make at home. I will definitely be back!

Antoinette M.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to try this place. Cute location. Got a matcha latte, if you can call it that. It was mostly oat milk and sweetener (no green in the photo lol) I think I'll try again with a plain green tea or something but I doubt it.

Natalie C.

Yelp
Great service, wonderful selection of teas, and seating inside and outside. But be aware that if you have a large party to not go during a busy time of the day.
google avatar

Yas W.

Yelp
Was really excited to visit while in ATL except the hours on Yelp, google, and the website don't match and we arrived at5:45 to discover it closed. Super disappointed
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
Love this quaint space and the dope cafe. They have a vast variety of loose leaf teas and also have samples of selected teas. Will definitely be coming back

Luna L.

Yelp
I waited 45 minutes for a cup of tea. I actually ordered a tea latte, but as you can see in the picture, it's not a latte. There were a few people in front of me, but it couldn't have been more than 4 or so. I watched one person get a refund and leave. The longer I waited, the more silly I felt, but it's sort of like "I've waited this long so I might as well just see this through to the end." The tea itself was high quality and tasted good.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The teas are so yummy and the vegan chocolate waffles??? *Chef's Kiss* Raven is my favorite teatender! She moves so fast. Can't wait for the block party event.

Yelp
Super cute space but I don't recommend on a weekday. I wanted to grab some vegan pastries on my way to work (10am after morning rush). They were all out of vegan pastries unfortunately so I ordered some non-vegan ones. I waited about 10 min to place my order because there was only one person working, and then didn't get my food for another 20 min (the person working said it would take 2 minutes to pull order together as the pastries are already baked).

Nazarette D.

Yelp
I truly love black business. And love to support them. But I don't understand why hire people who obviously don't want to at work. I called before I came in yesterday and a women informed me of the teas. And when I get there she says she doesn't have it. Honestly the only employee I'd rather not spend my money with to support this business. Please get rid of this women. She's a larger set women . And not the lovely women with the dreads. Her service is outstanding.

Sarah P.

Yelp
They were literally so nice in there. Everything was perfect. Vegan waffles were delicious. The tea and iced coffee hit the spot. The vibes were relaxing and welcoming. 10/10

Yelp
Love the tea, but my god the operations needs work. We went in on a Saturday afternoon around 3ish for a tea and several refills. After 45 mins of waiting and everyone who came after us leaving before us we got the tea.

Yelp
Was one of my favorite places back home in Brooklyn. Happy to have it here in the A. I love the ambiance there it makes me feel like I'm back home.

Yelp
Love this place but they HAVE TO . I mean HAVE TO update their hours online. Says they are open on Mondays but they are closed!!!! Other than that I love this place it's just not great communication.

Yelp
Great experience from the minute we walked in the door. Excellent customer service and instantly felt welcomed. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great spot for tea and treats! It's a whole vibe in here. If you're looking for a chill spot to work out of or meet friends or just chill out, visit Brooklyn Tea. I'll be back...a lot!

Yelp
It was nice but they need to turn the AC on in there it was way too hot. Don't be cheap.

A K.

Yelp
This place is super cute. I got an iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich everything was delicious. The only problem is they are severely under staffed, I went Saturday morning and there was a nice young lady do everything the register, making drinks and food. Luckily everyone was patient with her, she was doing her best. I Hope the owner hires more people. I will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Exclusive hidden gem secluded on the back streets of Peter st downtown . Emanuel a excellent host letchu kno all the ins and outs plus Kamille make a smashin ass "juicy" breakfast sandwich

Tia-Lanette O.

Yelp
Great for tea/coffee on a regular day- not so good for food. They hardly ever have the items advertised, and as a vegan I was real excited for those all day vegan sandwiches. I'll give it a few more tries!

Tony G.

Yelp
The store looks nice. However the fist thing I noticed was that there were no prices on the menu. I ordered the iced Masala Chai tea latte with honey. I usually don't add a sweetener but I thought it would be especially tasty with honey. However the tea tasted like water and it wasn't cold. Their cookies tasted good and I'm sure they have better tasting items, but I won't be coming back based on having the worst chai tea latte I've ever tasted.

I loved this place, small tea shop I would love to continue to go back! I brought some tea back home for my husband and he even loves it. Ordering more from her online store soon!
