This is a magical, charming, local shop that’s been around since the 1800s, where just about everything is homemade by women artists who are insanely talented. From beautiful crocheted baby sweaters and mittens, to Brooklyn mugs, painted dining trays of the BK promenade, ornaments and more, everything is so thoughtfully chosen and made and displayed in this store. Can’t wait to come back and buy more gifts. 5 stars!!!

Visiting family in Brooklyn and meandered down Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights where I lived when I first came to NYC. Brooklyn's Women's is a non-profit artists outlet that has been around for decades, staffed by volunteers. Today two kind women assisted my wife and I to find clothes, books and toys for my two grandchildren, a boy and a girl. Selection was wondetful, unique and fairly priced. A shout out in particular to the knit sweaters! After selecting the ladies wrapped it all up with beautiful ribbons. Go browse and support local artists and find yourself some original treasures. Thank the wonderful volunteer staff too.

This shop is the poster child for the shopping local movement! I’ve been a regular customer for twenty years and it’s where I go when I’m looking for a unique, locally made gift. Some of my fav’s are the beautifully made baby knits, Brooklyn T-shirts, handmade dolls and jewelry - but there really is something for everyone in this shop. Oh - and they also have a great selection of letterpress greeting cards and I often go there to stock up a few times a year. Also, there is an amazing silhouette artist who works the shop. She cut amazing silhouettes of both my kids and my dogs! They are now online!

A great place to buy seasonal gifts, arts, jewelry, pottery, toys and much more. Beautifully arranged, friendly volunteer staff. This is a great - and historic - institution to support. It's a win win because what you can buy there is so much better and more unique than your regular high street shop...

This shop is such a treasure! Their history and mission are amazing! Everything in the shop is so thoughtful and creative. I always find the most incredible, locally made gifts and love to support their fantastic cause of helping local, female artists and craftspeople! In a world of mass produced, soulless corporations, this shop is a jewel beyond all jewels!

This is a total hidden gem in the neighborhood--The Brooklyn Women's Exchange has an amazing assortment of home decor, jewelry, stationary and kids clothes handmade by local crafters. Reasonable prices and a great selection of inventory you won't find anywhere else. Visit this wonderful homey shop and support local makers and craftspeople.

I've lived in the Heights for over 20 years and frequented this shop at its previous location on Pierrepont many times. The selection of handcrafted and local gifts is lovely, and at that time, I felt good about contributing to their mission and cause. However, Thursday, 12/22/22 I stopped by their new location on Montague St in the afternoon. I was excited to see their new space and hoped to pick up some last-minute gift bags and ornaments to supplement my holiday purchases. When I walked in, the two guests who entered the store before me were greeted warmly and encouraged to ask if they needed help. I, however, was met with a cold 'down up' my body scan and absolutely no verbal greeting by the same sales volunteer. When I said "Hi", thinking she may have overlooked me, I was still not greeted with any verbal acknowledgment, nor did the cold stare at me get any warmer. I should have suspected that a business with a legacy of operation back into darker times of exclusion in our history might treat diverse customers differently, but it still makes me sad. I will no longer enthusiastically suggest that my friends and colleagues patronize this establishment.

This is the first store I go to when I need to buy a gift. Lots of wonderful handcrafted items for babies, kids, and adults. Prices are very reasonable, and there's something for everyone. Plus, it's volunteer-run and a local gem of Brooklyn Heights. Plus, the caramels are mouth-wateringly good! Worse a visit even if just for a 50 cent caramel!
