Step into Brother’s Keeper, a nostalgic Miami Beach dive where neon lights, strong cocktails, and delicious seafood bar bites collide for a fun night out.
"Brother’s Keeper looks and feels like a bar—because it is. The heavily mirrored room has an ‘80s rock soundtrack, strong cocktails, and blacked-out windows that make 5pm feel like 5am. But don't let that scare you away from eating here. They have tasty raw bar options alongside a slightly indefinable blend of hot dishes that range from fried alligator to a Basque hotdog with txistorra. It’s not perfect for a leisurely dinner with big entrees. But if you just want to hang out and graze on coconut shrimp, chicken wings, and tuna poke nachos, go here." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo
"In our ideal world, South Beach would be littered with bars playing an ‘80s rock soundtrack in a neon-lit, heavily mirrored room that makes 5pm feel like 5am. Brother’s Keeper has all of that, plus a functioning fish tank and the best coconut shrimp within a 50-mile radius. This bar is named after the inaugural episode of Miami Vice, and provides a perfect dose of Miami Beach nostalgia while still feeling fresh. There's food here too—dishes like tuna poke nachos (get those) alongside a slightly indefinable blend of hot dishes that range from fried alligator to a txistorra hotdog." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"This nostalgic South Beach bar is exactly what a fun night out in Miami's perpetually touristy neighborhood has been missing. The AC is cold, the mirrors and neon are plentiful, and there's a functioning fish tank behind the bar. Brother's Keeper isn't too chaotic but you could still scream along to a Hall & Oates song without getting death stares. The cocktails are strong (a few come with a little snack too). This is a bar more than it is a restaurant, but you can make a perfectly acceptable dinner out of their hot dog and tuna poke nachos." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"In our ideal world, South Beach would be littered with bars playing an ‘80s rock soundtrack in a neon-lit, heavily mirrored room with pool tables and dart boards. Brother’s Keeper has all of that, plus a giant saltwater fish tank and a martini that comes with a warm little croissant. It’ll help keep your stomach quiet while you finish your drink. After that, order some giant coconut shrimp and spicy tuna poke nachos." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"Brother’s Keeper, Miami Beach’s newest cocktail bar by Chris Hudnall and Randy Alonso of Lost Boy & Co., offers a mix of “low-brow beer, high-brow cocktails,” and unique bites in a 1980s New York-inspired space complete with ambient lighting and fish tanks. Chef Josh Elliott’s menu features port city-inspired bar bites like tuna poke nachos, seafood salad, oysters Crockettfeller, and chicken-fried gator with fried dill pickles. The drink menu includes twists on modern classics, small-production wines, and “easy drinking” beer, with standout martinis like the Bread Service Martini and Lemon Drop Martini No. 2, and cocktails such as the Mezcal Bijou and Sparkling Blinker." - Allison Ramirez
