Where to Drink at Waco’s Best Breweries and Bars | Eater Dallas

"This Waco-based beer can be found on tap all over town, but head to its taproom and beer garden for a taste straight out of the brewery. This community-minded spot is dog- and kid-friendly and in addition to serving craft brews (including to-go options), it hosts events like a market for thrifting and art, yoga Tuesdays, and trivia Thursdays." - Courtney E. A community-driven brewery with an outdoor beer garden and frequent events. On select weekends, Eastside Market fills the yard with local vendors, DJs, and live art—an authentic snapshot of Waco’s creative scene, highlighted by Visit Waco and Waco Wise.

Ambiance: Trendy brewery with a huge outdoor seating area perfect for bringing your dog, kids, and family/friends. Good weekend spot given that they have events, music, and games. I enjoyed their IPA options. My friend group and I liked sitting outside together at a long table and trying their beers. Street parking available. Clean bathrooms. It did seem the indoor area might get hot in the summer so I felt this is more of an outdoor venue.

Great micro brewery! Good beer, craft sodas, local lemonade and lots of events and fun activities so check their calendar! They have a fun beer club that made me wish I lived local.

Mission accomplished! I went to 2 other breweries and they did not have growlers however Brotherwell did! This place had great branding I sampled several of their beers they were delicious they also had a rattler which is beer and lemonade which uses a local manufacturer for their lemonade. I even took home a 6-pack that's how tasty their beers were. The owner and his assistant were very friendly we talked a lot about the local community and compared them to Wisconsin Also discussed what's trending in beer. This was a very pleasant stop and it always a pleasure to meet new people in the industry.

Brotherwell has a cool vibe and great location. Tons of space, friendly staff. Tried the Shelter in Haze hazy-ok, looked great, but flavor was closer to an IPA than the fresh pop hazy usually encountered. Wacotown IPA definitely was, better of the two for me. Very chill space to unwind from travel or just wrap up the day.

Excellent beer, including several Texas Beer Festival winners. Personal favorites were the hazy IPA and a Belgian. They welcome you bringing your own food. Plenty of indoor, outdoor, and parking space. Cool!

Not ready to be done for the day after exploring Waco, I crossed the bridge to Brotherwell. This is a brewery and they sometimes have a food truck. No food truck today, which was just as well, as I was well stuffed with tacos from earlier. A bit industrial and bare but they have a few tables inside and a few tables outside. I was inside and chose one of their beers, sitting at a table near a power outlet. No air conditioning other than a few high speed fans so a hot/humid day might be a challenge. Another beer and two hours later, I was ready to call it a day. Tripel, Radler, Wheat, Hazy IPA, American IPA, Porter, Irish Red and a Hazy Pale. The "Wacotown" was my choice and it was pretty tasty. Prices are reasonable at between $5.50 and $7.00 for a pint. They'll pull a pitcher if you prefer. I believe you can bring your own food if you want.

Yelp
Ambiance: Trendy brewery with a huge outdoor seating area perfect for bringing your dog, kids, and family/friends. Good weekend spot given that they have events, music, and games. I enjoyed their IPA options - including the "Total Eclipse" themed IPA they had during the April 8th eclipse. My friend group and I enjoyed sitting outside together at a long table and trying their beers. Street parking available. Clean bathrooms. It did seem the indoor area might get hot in the summer so I felt this is more of an outdoor venue.

Yelp
Great local brewery in Waco. Great beer. Awesome people. What's more to ask for? Possibly some food, but whatever. Bar snacks will do. They do have Broken G BBQ and trivia night on Thursday. I just come for their award winning Shelter in Haze hazy IPA.

Yelp
North of the river, west of I35. Large warehouse type building, with picnic table outside. Plenty of parking in this developing area. Stopped in post lunch to check out their beers, friendly welcome and good selection of brews. Some on tap, also had cans available if you want to take home. Worth stopping by if you are a beer nerd crossing places off your list.

Yelp
We were sightseeing and found this place by mistake and had to stop by because we just had their beer at a local eatery, "Guess BBQ". The staff was so friendly with tastings and in general with advice on what to do around town. Didn't realize we were actually speaking to the owner Jake. Local beer is very good. We're taking a 6pk of the Act of Faith 8.0% IPA to go!!

Yelp
Found this place on a whim after making the trip up to Waco. It's a good selection of beer with nice outdoor seating. The neighborhood itself looks like its going through some changes and is a bit on the quiet side. I'll admit we're beer snobs & have visited our fair share of local brewers. The Shelter in Haze IPA was decent and gives any good hazy a run for its money. What I really appreciated about this place was the sense of community - they definitely seem like they're trying to give back to the neighborhood since so many folks were telling us we should have been there the night before, when they hosted a concert for local artists.

Yelp
A fun brewery with cute grounds that makes for a nice visit! I stopped off here for the Eastside Market, which was held on a sunny Sunday, with merchants from across the town selling cool things, food trucks serving up grub, live painting, and live music, as well as cold frosty beers! They offered free water and had plenty of seating amidst the rows of stalls of merchants set up here. They offer a list of beers here, and sell growlers to take it home in. Unfortunately, at the time of my visit, they weren't selling bottles or cans of beer. It was a recent law change that allows breweries to sell cans and bottles directly to the customer, and it caught them off guard. They're working on it. The brewery offers some memorabilia, clean places to sit! There's plenty of parking along the street here. It's a nice place to check out the art and have a round of beers!

Yelp
We are from Houston and stopped by here after reading great reviews. My boyfriend and I did a flight, and we were very impressed. The beers are superb and James who helped us was very nice. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I went Brotherwell Brewing on Saturday, September 28th around 2pm with my family. This brewery is a laid back, causal place, were you can sit and relax and take your time with family and friends. It is non-A/C, although there are fans. They do take credit cards and have some cool looking merchandise. We are waiting for them to get more blue T-shirts in stock as they were out of the common size - Large. We tried a tasting of 4 beers; the best was the WIT and the seasonal Oktoberfest. We didn't like the Act of Faith at all; we didn't even finish the sample. It has a lot of potential as far as the location is - we are excited to see what's coming next and how things mature!

Yelp
Totally hooked! Incredible beers, incredible staff! Definitely this will be my new spot to drink really good beers. Triple act of faith IPA is an experience!

Yelp
This is a fun low key craft brew spot. It's rustic and relaxing. The beer is good and fairly priced. I bring a growler over to have them fill it from time to time and am never disappointed. Think globally drink locally!

Yelp
We love Brotherwell!! The beer is amazing. Very friendly staff and a wonderful outdoor seating area. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Just returned from four years living in Europe, so I was searching for a beer that wasn't Miller, Bud, Coors, etc. In short, I'm a beer snob who needed some good beer. Brotherwell has not disappointed. I've got some of their hazy IPA in my fridge and am currently enjoying their Trippel. My beer fix has been satisfied...for the moment. Once these growlers are empty, I will return for refills! Awesome beer that I highly recommended!

Yelp
The Bridge Street Wit is up there with Paulaner, and Boulevard Wheat and is delicious. But don't get me started on the Act of Faith Tripel--absolutely dynamite--and at 7-8% ABV it will hit you like it's supposed to. The owners are awesome, genuine, friendly guys who love giving back to the East Side community. Can't wait for them to make it big now that they are entering beer contests!

Yelp
Great hang out spot! Even better beer! Thanks for opening a cool place for us in Waco.

Yelp
Great spot for a few beers and a tour of the brewery! The beers are delicious (and a great price), but the real steal is getting a flight so you can taste a few. I was in town visiting, and they were kind (and local) enough to give great recommendations for the rest of my trip, and each of those were just as good. These guys have a lot of room to grow at their location, I'm excited to see how far it comes along on my next trip to town!
