I've had better from them than what we ordered. We didn't go deep dish and I think we should have. I recall those being better. Granted, the sauces were fresh and everything was still good. Just wasn't blown away.

We struggled with places being closed during the off season, so we ended up coming here twice while in Telluride. Between our visits, my husband and I shared: - Chester's Tail Wagger, Classic Pizza (seasonal) - Little Rose, Detroit Style Pizza - Gold Hill, Detroit Style Pizza - Southwestern BBQ Chicken, Detroit Style Pizza We really enjoyed everything we had here. The seasonal pizza was definitely my favorite followed by the Little Rose. They have a really good Detroit style crust. I tried my mom's Gold Hill on a classic crust and actually thought that pizza was better on the classic crust instead of the Detroit. I wish the BBQ pizza had BBQ sauce as the base instead of red sauce with just a drizzle of BBQ. The red sauce was a bit weird to me on a BBQ pizza, but it was still good. I just recently discovered they also have locations in Denver, but it's called Blue Pan Pizza so maybe I'll be back sooner than I thought!

We ordered the Bruschetta, garlic parm chicken wings and Chicken wrap. I also wanted to order a deep dish pizza but our order was already massive with generous portion. The bruschetta was yumm had loads of cherry tomatoes drizzled with Balsamic vinegar and the bread was one of the best I had. The chicken wrap was also good. The garlic parmesan wings the outer fried layer was hard, but still okay. This is a very busy place. But the bar side stools will be available immediately.

Brown Dog Pizza was really good! Our server was friendly and very good at her job. She gave good recommendations and even brought to-go boxes and the check without us asking. The food was excellent. They have gluten free thin and deep crust pizza. The gluten free thin crust was the best I've ever had. They accommodated my service dog without any hassle.

Our first time in Telluride and did my research about must try restaurants. Brown Dog Pizza did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was phenomenal. We had spinch artichoke dip, garlic knots , wings (garlic parmesan & barbeque) and of course, their famous Detroit Style Pizza! We ordered half/half of Brooklyn Bridge & 313. It was sooo good. Generous toppings & perfect crust! Great service from Brock too!

The atmosphere is great — a lively bar area for social people, cozy booths for private groups, and a nice balcony, perfect for couples. Definitely an awesome place to eat in Telluride!

Brown Dog Pizza is great. Classic ski town pizza shop. Pizza is delicious. We got a salad to start with some homemade balsamic dressing that was really good. Our server made us feel welcome and was quick to bring our drinks and food. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for a table but we sat and had a drink next door.

I get it. There are other places to get a drink and something to eat in Telluride. But when we’re in town, this is our go to. Consistently good food - sandwiches, salads, and pizza - there’s nothing bad on the menu. There’s outdoor seating when the weather cooperates, ample table seating, and the bar is a great place to watch sports on one of the seven tvs. The prices are reasonable and the draft beer selection is good. I guess the main reason we keep coming back is the service. These folks work so darn hard! This joint is jumping on festival weekends. But they never lose their friendly composure. We should try other places, but we’re back for our third visit to Brown Dog this weekend. Keep up the great work!

I came in from Honolulu, Hawaii and happened along Brown Dog on a weekend girls trip. Our waiter made a great recommendation on the Detroit Style pizza. We tried the Pesto because it did not have pizza sauce. It was light, fluffy and not too filling. Price was great. College Football was playing, the restaurant was a little loud. Not too loud to not have a decent conversation. I'd definitely come back. Pizza was great!!

Needed a quick snack before we continue our road trip. Bookmarked this whenever we were in town and here we are. We sat outside and people watch like we always do. Staff were friendly and quick to help us get seated. Mid afternoon, not a lot of people but enough to make you want to check this place out. We ordered a small Parma Italia to share and it was just perfect. Actually if it was up to me and my body, I'd want the whole thing to myself lol. I'm starting to like Detroit style pizza more and more! I wish they have a Brown Dog in our area. Every bite was perfect and arugula just made it so much better, that bit of freshness that lightens the palette. ahhhhh.....dreaming about it again. Boyfriend scarfed up that two pieces in no time! I actually gave him a part of mine since it was cut up "evenly", hehe. I was just being fair. Loved loved loved this place! Will have to come back when friends visit.

These reviews don't lie - they do have great pizzas - specially Detroit Style Pizza. Located in Telluride downtown - this place is not huge but has two- floor seating as well as bar seating. We went on a weekday evening and it was busy as it can get for a weekday. We sat at the bar, ordered few drinks while browsing though the menu which has apps, burgers, wraps, subs, enough Pizza options both Detroit-style and classic or you can make your own pizza as well. They also let you order any pizza in any style. Being from NJ , we were not sure about ordering Detroit-style pizza but our bartender suggested to give it a try. So, we ordered a small Detroit-style pizza and it was one of the best pizzas I ever had - crisp, fluffy and not too heavy. We liked it so much that we ordered cheesy Garlic bread in the same style.

Dang it; just had a review vanish into the ether. Okay, sad to make this report: I'd been looking forward to getting back to Brown Dog Pizza and . . . it just didn't do it for me this time. We've been to Brown Dog Pizza several times before (last visit over five years ago, however) and this visit wasn't up to par. We were the first ones in the door ahead of an enormous Sunday lunch crowd, and our server got our orders in immediately, ahead of the throng. (He also did a fantastic job of staying on top of an enormous number of people during the time we were there - and he was ably assisted by bussers who jumped on top of any little issue they noticed. Good show on service.) And our pizzas arrived quickly - surprisingly quickly, given our recollection of how long the Detroit pies take to bake. And they were - surprisingly not all that warm. Well, the toppings were warm and the pepperoni were curled, but the crusts just weren't hot. Warm enough, but lacking that molten quality I've experienced here before and was yearning to experience again. The sauce didn't seem as vibrant, either. Ah well. Toppings were good. Prices were reasonable. (I think what happened is that they had a bunch of pre-baked crusts ready, shoveled on the toppings, and threw them in the oven. Good for fast service on a chaotic day but not the top quality Detroit pies I remembered.) The room is the same as it ever was: good use of space, nice bar area and great overlooking balcony seating. There was an inviting covered patio out front that I don't remember from our previous visits (good use of COVID funds?). Brown Dog is clearly still packing them in - I'm just not sure I'll be in a hurry to rush back after this visit.

If the bar is open, grab a seat and watch the game. The staff is very friendly and eager to ensure the customers have a great experience. You can't beat $7 Long Island ice teas and some of the best pizza in the area. Barrett was super helpful even with only one good arm! This place was so good we made the 2.5 hour drive again the day after from Moab and had to come here.

We've had Brown Dog for take out before and decided to dine in this time so we could eat the pizza super fresh. Since we had our dog with us we sat out on their covered patio on a dreary and rainy day. They were nice about wiping down the tables for us as the rain continued to come down and even as we moved tables three times as the more sheltered tables freed up. My husband and I split a large Detroit style pizza and got half Brooklyn and half 313. Both were great but our favorite was definitely the Brooklyn. I love deep dish style pizza and the crust and flavors were chef's kiss. I wish I had gotten the name of the gentleman who took care of us for dinner because he gave us the best service - wiping down tables, helping us with a photo, constantly checking to see if we needed anything, etc. He reminded me a lot of Jack McBrayer haha. Anyway, great service, great pizza, dog friendly, and highly recommended.

Fabulous! The pizza was crispy, tasty, and delicious. Though we should've ordered the "small" as we didn't put much of a dent in this pizza. This is a hip pizza place that was crowded when we got there - about 3:45, and much more crowded when we left. Our server was very nice and accommodating. She also doubled as the bartender, so we didn't see her much. But, that really wasn't a problem because there are plenty of people wandering, serving, and clearing. Great place for food & drink.

With limited spots to eat good, reasonably-priced food in Tellluride, Brown Dog Pizza definitely hit the spot! It gets pretty busy around peak lunch and dinner hours, so go early if you have a larger group. We walked in around 5pm on a Monday and were able to be sat right away, but it got pretty busy shortly after with a waitlist. Service is casual and the vibe is sports bar/fun. You do have a server and the service is pretty quick. Overall, we enjoyed everything we ordered and loved the Detroit-style pizza! It was delicious! FOOD RATINGS: - Spinach dip (4/5): Love that this comes with chips and pizza dough bread! It seems like they put a smoky provolone cheese slice on top to really add to the cheesiness and it had a good smoky flavor. A bit too cheesy if that's even possible, but overall really good. - Caesar salad (3/5): This was just okay. I would have liked more dressing as it seemed a bit on the lighter side, and the way the romaine was chopped was hard to stab or scoop with a fork. The dressing also had a slightly off taste that I didn't prefer. - Brooklyn Bridge pizza (5/5): This was delicious! Perfectly crispy edges, great house sauce, and tasty meats. Would definitely order this one again. - Parma Italia pizza (5/5): This was also delicious. If you enjoy prosciutto and ham and arugula with a slightly sweet balsamic glaze, this pizza is for you.

Excellent GF Pizza! I almost cried tears of happiness when I bit into the pizza and it had the real Detroit style pizza crunch! I would go back to Telluride simply for the pizza. If you ate GF, don't miss this place. Its worth it! The staff is awesome too. Our waitress was so attentive and helpful, even during the busiest time of the day. I honestly couldn't say a single negative thing about our experience here. Its a must if you are in Telluride!

Very busy pizza place on Main Street in downtown Telluride. Parking is tricky in this bustling area but it's worth it. The Greek salad was great with lots of all the ingredients. The pizzas were also delicious and the service was pretty quick - especially with a packed house. They have a huge selection of beers and a full bar and a big variety of food on the menu besides pizza. Definitely worth a stop here.

What a gem of a place in beautiful Telluride. The restaurant stayed full the entire time we were there but the service was great and the food was even better. We ordered mozzarella sticks for our daughters and they loved them. They were definitely homemade and not frozen/premade. After finding out that the owner is originally from Ann Arbor, MI and that he knows true Detroit Style deep dish pizza, we knew we had to try it. This has to be in my top 5-10 best pizzas EVER! The Brooklyn Bridge was out of this world. It's a deep-dish pizza, with crispy/cheesy edges, the perfect amount of homemade red pizza sauce, cupping pepperoni, hand pinched sausage, fresh garlic, mozzarella, oregano, Ramano cheese, and whipped ricotta. I already need another one of these in my life! Our daughters wanted a cheese pizza so we ordered them a Classic American pizza with traditional crust and this may have been the best cheese pizza we've ever eaten. Of course, we enjoyed a few margarita's while we waited for our pizzas while our daughters enjoyed games of pac man on classic arcade machines. So much fun! I highly recommend coming here for pizza. There was a wait for us to be seated but I promise it was well worth the wait to get in. We made the drive from I believe Silverton to eat here and ended up staying in Telluride for the night since we were already here.

All of it was fantastic! Make sure you order the different ranches they offer bc they are a perfect addition with the pizza. The food is absolutely delicious, however, I believe we received the wrong pizza eventhough the waiter said it was the right one (we knew this as the 3-1-3 shouldn't have had red sauce on it and the pizza we received had red sauce on it.) The hostess was quite rude to me when I checked in as we were finishing drinks at the bar next door and the hostess didn't like that (you get 15 mins to come to the restaurant once they send you a text that your table is ready.) The restaurant has a cool vibe though.

Over the course of two visits in Aug 2024, I had the 3-1-3, Joe's NY White, and Pesto, on both traditional and gluten-free crust. They were all very good, but I'd rank the 3-1-3 as the 2nd best pizza I've had in my life. It was outstanding! The Joe's NY White and Pesto were both good, but nothing over-the-top. Brown Dog had a great vibe & quality staff. If you want a table easily, I recommend having an early lunch (11 AM), late lunch (2 - 3 PM) or early dinner (4 - 5 PM), as all other times they are PACKED!!! If you do go at a time when there's availability, ask for the upstairs table by the window. It has a great view of the mountains & main street, and overlooks all the action below w/o being in the middle of all of the noise & action.

What a place! After a long hike up, in the rain, we were looking for a place to eat. Seeing that celiac dictates every experience in regards finding a restaurant, it can sometimes be frustrating. I am always Leary of pizza places due to the chance for cross contamination, however I was relived when we found this place. This was absolute best GF pizza I have ever had. It was one of those dishes that for days and weeks after you are still thinking about. Highly recommend!

Do not miss this pizza spot!! Stopped in on our way out of bluegrass festival and was looking for a good slice of pizza. I had the gluten free pepperoni mushroom. And holy cow, best gluten free pizza crust I've ever eaten. It was New York style deep dish and tasted every bit as flavorful and delicious as traditional crust. Service was prompt and servers were super friendly! Great little sports bar atmosphere with even better food. Every dish I saw come out looked incredible. Also had a side salad that was full of fresh veggies.

There's no such thing as a cheap place to eat in Telluride, so let's get that out of the way right away. There are affordable places, and there are fancy places, and then there are exclusive places. This is an affordable and fun spot for pizza. We came in on a Monday for lunch and even in off season it was bumpin'. Luckily there were a few open seats at the bar so that's where we parked. There are lots of jerseys on the wall and the TV screens were hosting a whole bunch of talking heads and highlights playing Monday morning quarterback. We got a salad and a pizza, and decided to share both. The pizza was an all white pizza and while I do love simple, it was probably a little too much so. It could have used a bit more sauce or a bit more adornment, but that didn't keep us from eating the whole thing. The salad was good, full of candied nuts and a vinaigrette and was a good way to start the meal. As noted, they ain't giving it away so my bill cleared $40 for one pizza and salad, but for this town, that's not bad.

Honestly, not really sure what's so great about this place. Came in on a Tuesday, got on the list, and waited 30 mins for our table. The famous garlic knots weren't great. Half were so drowned in garlic, they were gooey and overwhelming. The other half were hard as rocks and inedible. Luckily, nobody asked how they were or why we only ate half. Pizzas were fine, but honestly no better than any other Detroit-style pizza we've had in the past. Service was fine, but again, nothing screaming of anything more than middle of the road average.

Never had Detroit style pizza before and I loved it! It looks like it would be "heavy" like a deep dish pizza - it was surprisingly light. We had the Margharita style with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and half Italian sausage pieces. The amount of sauce was perfect, not too much. Thin crust pizza is generally my favorite, but when I dine here again - I will stick w the Detroit style.

Wait is long, but otherwise, this was a fun experience with pretty good food. Vegetarian review: - I've already forgotten which one I ordered, but it was along the line of a margherita. Pizza was very true to style (I'm reference the Detroit style pizza), and flavor was pretty good. They have a cheese dip that's delicious as well. It's very shareable between 2- 4 people. It comes with both regular chips as well as little pizza dough chips- these are reminiscent of pita chips, but pizza dough instead. Small salad was standard, but large enough to share as well. Service was great and personable. There are people there who actually watch the games playing, so be prepared for a sports bar environment- it can get loud. Great experience.
