Brown's & Family BBQ & Soul is located on the southwest side of Chi-town on 87th Street. This restaurant is for take-out only. My mother was desiring some Turkey Tips and she was told this restaurant had the best in the city of Chicago. Who ever told my mother that DID NOT LIE! I've eaten turkey tips from a few barbeque spots around the city __ this indeed has been the best. The taste and texture is on point. Excuse me for not taking and posting a picture of the dish before I started eating it. I was actually half way in when I realized I did not capture the entire meal. They give a Lot for the price. If you like Turkey Tips you will not be disappointed. What I really noticed and loved was it's ALL MEAT and no fat or gristle (at least mine was). My turkey tips came with fries. I will eat there again.

I was told they foods was good so I decided to give them a try. The first time I went they had no sides, I give them another try today ..after I called my order and traveled 20min the cashier say they don’t have turkey tips and he was just about to call me 20min later. That why black businesses never make it! I will never waste my time and go back! I don’t care to ever taste the food!

Rib tips are great, so are the wings, made with the homemade mild sauce, which in my opinion makes them taste better than the wings sold by the restaurant chain located next door.

Omg today was my first time trying Brown’s & Family BBQ & soul. I was greeted & even had the opportunity to taste the Turkey tips. The Turkey tips were tender enough for anyone with dentures or no teeth at all to enjoy the flavorful tips. The crispy fried chicken wings with or with out the sauce is also very good. Each order came with French fries so be sure to ask for crispy fries. This is a take out only spot. No dine in available. It’s small inside. If you’re in a rush don’t bother because good food takes time to prep or cook. You must try them for yourself. You’ll thank me later. I’ll definitely be back soon. Googled bbq places on the south side besides Lem’s and i57 Smokehouse and came across this new hidden gem. The plus was the restaurant being on Grubhub!! I ordered the turkey tips w/ 3 wings and while the tips were extremely tender and the fries were perfect, I think the chicken was slightly undercooked, nothing the oven couldn’t fixed. I’ll definitely order again, the sauce was really good also!

Whoever y’all grill master/cook is going to tear the quality of y’all business down! The fact that EVERY RIB WAS BURNT and they still decided to sell it is crazy to me! There was no way y’all thought your customer ME was going to be ok with that. That chicken was overcooked and old. I ordered through DoorDash they called me and told me they didn’t have Turkey tips ok cool after maybe 6 min the driver was on his way to me and what’s crazy is the place is about 10 minutes away from me and the food was ICE COLD!!!!!!!! Smh never again

I got the tip and rib combo and both the meats were tough. The ribs were a little more tender than the tips but there was barely any seasoning. I asked for mild sauce but it didn't look like there was much on there. The fries were terrible as well.

Horrible customer service and leadership. Tried to call my order in the young lady was almost done taking my card info and says they’re out of ribs. By then my husband was walking in the establishment so he changed what we wanted and ordered, my order was completely wrong when he got to me and when I called they hung up on me and when I called back the owner answered and told me he couldn’t do anything about it. I support Black businesses but they need to do waaaaayyyy better than the service I received. BBQ was tough and rushed, I won’t be back.

First time trying this place and I probably wouldn't return. The food took an extremely long time and it's a bit dry. The hot links were the worst. This mac and cheese shouldn't even be sold or on the menu at all. Can I have my $29 dollars back. A bit disappointed!

Tips and chicken wings are delicious, great sauce, tender meat. I've ordered here several times and it's been fire

I ordered this off of the Facebook recommendation and when I tell you I was disappointed. I was disappointed. The food was absolutely horrible bbone grizzle. I'm brought a link and tip an extra large one and for what I pay for it. I may be received maybe 5 edible tips and the amount was extremely small. I spent the total of $60 from any edible food horrible.

Large portions, the tips were tender, meaty and delicious, good price! I will be back

Just stopped by this place for the grand opening. They were sold out of many items because of the overwhelming response of the food, so I only tried the spaghetti. It was really yummy, well seasoned (with Italian sausage) and delicious. They have a great variety of items on the menu, so I'll definitely be back to try the BBQ and other items. Great black and family owned establishment in the community!

Driving through the area, stopped by for lunch. I ordered a small catfish with fries. Catfish was simply delicious! It was 2 catfish filets cooked to perfection. Perfect combination of flaky & crunch. My fries just as ordered, salt & pepper with mild sauce. Excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was friendly & prompt. The steady flow of customers shows Browns Family BBQ & Soul is on the right track!

I don't have any pictures but let that be your guide. I opened up the food in the car and by the time I got home my nephew and I ate everything. The rib tips hands down were my favorite so yummy and will be my go to order! My nephew had the chicken wings and he enjoyed them. I'm not a fan of crinkle fried but I love a good fry sandwich and those fries in the white bread with the bbq sauce was sooooo good. The greens were good and flavorful, I prefer all leaves in my greens no stems but the stems were small enough not to be bad. The Mac and cheese was yummy. Idk what flavor was mixed in but we kept going back for spoon fulls. Side note I am not far from the Resturant! Soooo glad to have tried something new! See you soon Brown Family

With them opening on April 1, they got a huge following. It took me four tries to place my order with them. Usually the line is out the door and down the block. The food overall is really good. The bbq is cut large so you are getting you money worth. The greens and Mac & cheese are homemade. No can stuff here.

Family likes the Turkey hot links and mild sauce fries. Tender and juicy Sauce is very tasty prices are decent.

Their wings can be very good but some days lacking a bit in quality (not fresh). Tried their catfish and was a bit apprehensive because I thought it might have been fishy based on the smell; however, I gave it a try and it was straight fire. The fish was fried hard, super crispy. It was also well seasoned and you can tell it's actually catfish.

DISAPPOINTED ON MOTHER'S DAY!!! Placed an order on their site, it took payment, said the order was being prepared.... Just to get there and the restaurant was closed. If you are closed your site should say that and definitely not accept orders . I was excited to taste their food for the first time and now Im just frustrated. A sign on the door but no note on the website. . In this age of internet/technology the site should have been updated as a priority. Ughhhh

Hubby and I gave this place a try. First and last time! Cole slaw was like water , not good at all ( went in the garbage). Spaghetti had no flavor. Chicken wings tasted like they had been cooked and reheated. Rib tips ok, not the best, links were the best thing, not great either. So needless to say won't be back!

The food tastes just like it you're eating at your cousin's house! I had the Tips with Mac n Cheese and Greens... That's my new spot!

I had the turkey tips and the perch fish it was exquisite . I'm going to tell everyone about this place

I went to the restaurant at 3:00 pm and they had no turkey tips ready said to return at 6. I came back and they said it will be another 45 minutes okay so I waited. I told my friend it better be worth it...it was not. I will say that the banana pudding was delicious and the pork links, (even though I wanted turkey but they were out of that too) were pretty good. The turkey tips were a little tough but more than that the sauce disappointed me. It was really weak. It was supposed to be mixed with mild and hot but it was watered down. The Mac and cheese was good but the string beans left much to the imagination. Would I go back? Maybe for the links but never the tips again. I really wanted potato salad as my side but guess what they were out of that too‍. The people were very friendly here and I hate to put down the food but it was just not what I expected. I guess I'm still gonna be searching for that good bbq

Tried them today for the 1st time. Had the Chicken Wings, Turkey Tips and Turkey Links. 5 STAR MEAL !! As long as they follow the same recipe, and the same process, I don't see any reason why I would turn them down. Good Job !!!

If I could rate this 0 stars I would, the customer service was bad and the time to get your food after ordering is even more horrendous. I do not recommend this place at all.

My first Time trying this place was last night 4/28/2023. I order a large combo Turkey tips with turkey links , Pork Rib tips dinner with spaghetti with greens also. When we got home and opened the food it Was AMAZING, so much flavor and seasoning. My Wife loved the turkey links so much that we are going back tonight for Round 2 . I told all my coworkers to try this Place out ASAP. The Next day we went back 4/29/2023 and not the Same Experience. When I arrived I was told no turkey tips at all for the rest of the day . It was 7pm and still light outside . I went ahead and ordered a Large turkey hot-link and a Small turkey hot-link both plain with Sauce on the side PLEASE. Food came fast only 15 minutes wait . When we got home and opened our food both orders were Covered with Barbecue sauce , even the bread had barbecue sauce on it . I don't like eating my food like that covered in Sauce neither does my wife . I ate mine anyway but she did not . We had to go back out to grab her Popeyes instead . Friday was Great. Saturday was Disappointing.

Amazing, Awesome Barbecue sauce The Ribs is very Delicious and The Soul food Oh My God, Mercy Mercy just taste so good with the potato salad and everything else. We will be back . And the Fish is just cook very Fresh.

I work in a medical office and a patient overheard us discussing bbq for lunch. She handed me a flyer and said to try this place that recently opened. I went yesterday and ordered a mini tip and link combo. The cashier said it'll be about a 10-15 minute wait. No big deal I am ok with that. 35 minutes after placing my order is when my mini tip and link was ready. There was another customer that placed an online order and she had to wait about 6 minutes. The bbq was delicious and the service (not just with me) was fantastic. My only negative is the wait time. I will definitely return.

Best BBQ I've had in the city. It all tasted like authentic, delicious home cooked meals.
