How to Spend a Big Fat Weekend in Denver | Bon Appétit

"As you well know after reading about all the things going on atThe Wolf’s Tailor, chef Kelly Whitaker never stops experimenting. That includesBruto, a funny coffee shop/onigiri counter inside the Dairy Block, yet another food hall but in LoDo. He has plans to turn the space into the main mill for freshly ground grains for his restaurants, but until then he’s turning out fun, wacky onigiri, Japanese rice balls stuffed with things like mushrooms, ricotta, and yuzu-inflected chicken. They’re served on a crystal cake stand with a box of little nori sheets right next to it for you to wrap yourself. Sure it’s a little DIY, but it means the dried seaweed stays fresh and crispy (instead of getting filmy and weird from the moisture of the rice). It’s a small detail, but it’s extremely thoughtful. And the whole experience is heaven." - ByElyse Inamine

Very cute shop. The furniture and decor is so cozy and lovely, and the sandwiches are great, and the caesar salad is to die for, and every time I walk in the staff are so kind!! Love it here!

Great deal for 2 slices of pizza and a side salad. Pizza had a thicker crust which is my favorite. The Italian soda was a new item for me and I enjoyed it as well.

Oh man, This place is so good. I like my coffee, strong, smooth and flavorful, and they checked all those boxes. I like that this place keeps the menu short and simple and everything is made from scratch. I really don’t like going to coffee shops with an overextended menu. Just focus on what you Do great. I also added a chocolate chip cookie. They also baked in house excellent. Caramel latte was probably one of the best I’ve had ever. It’s a little on the small side, which is my only complaint, but it’s totally worth it. I will be back as this is right down the street from me.

Quiet place away from all the busier downtown coffee shops and about the same distance. Interior is really cool, with a lot of nautical and local flair dotted on the walls. Food is incredible and rivals so many other places that charge twice as much, service is always very accommodating and fast, music is good, coffee is solid. It’s perfect place to get anything done for work or just hang out.

Great pizza, great coffee, and great service! The two slices of pizza and a salad lunch combo is perfect for a weekday lunch break or splitting a light lunch with someone.

Best Italian sub I’ve had in Birmingham. I wish I didn’t like it so much otherwise I would try other things on the menu. I have had a really good scone there too.

UPDATE: Know before you go - this is NOT a dog friendly place. Comfortable and laid back space with the best scones I've ever had! The servers are friendly, and it's a great place to relax, work, hang out and drink coffee.
