Brydge Review: Brydge Is the Stylish, Unfussy Restaurant Cambria Deserves | Eater LA

"Effortlessly chic yet unfussy, this hyperseasonal Cambria restaurant stands out with cleverly constructed vegetable starters—mushrooms with an abundance of oil and Parmesan, and carrots shellacked with honey—plus small-plate proteins like meatballs in tomato sauce and petrale sole in brown butter that can easily make a meal. For groups, the large-format House Suppers serve two and run $68 to $90; add a few more vegetables and you’ll feed a crowd, while the ribeye is luxuriously marbled and simply dressed, with bread and salad on the side. The wine list emphasizes local producers at pleasantly low prices for the area and genre, with glasses starting at $12; bright natural wines from nearby Parr Collective pair nicely. Set a block off the main drag in a Victorian-era home with a candlelit patio and an herb garden, it has a hip but affable energy—staff will happily talk specific farms, cheerfully bring blankets when it gets chilly, and our server encouraged my kids to pick miniature plums from the tree. Travelers abound, but it’s also a locals’ spot, especially for restaurant industry folks; when I mentioned it at Parr Collective’s tasting room, everyone in earshot raved." - Ben Mesirow

Amazing little place. We stopped there randomly for lunch and ended up returning the same day for dinner. We really enjoyed all our dishes — the food was amazing. My wife said the burger was the best she’s had in years, and I loved the shrimp and tuna starters. The wine was great too.

I had been on the road for 10 days exploring the Central California Coast. I had been advised to go to Brydge downtown Cambria. So glad I listened, for I had an outstanding meal in a intimate setting of a home. The beet salad was one of the best I have had the good fortunate to have eaten. Seriously, the meal is worthy of a Michelin Star.

Google
Hands down one of the best dining/date night spots in Central Coast. The moment you step in, it feels like you’re embraced with a warm hug. Customer service is stellar and the ambiance is darling. The real show stopper is the food! Every dish is prepared with so much thought. The wine list is very diverse and refreshing. There’s not a bottle listed that I wouldn’t try. This was one of a handful of dinners where we didn’t feel rushed. It reminded me of dining in Europe, in the best way. We can’t wait to go back! Thank y’all for a lovely experience! Cheers!

Google
This is such a nice spot. The building and location is so cute and cozy, and waitress very friendly. We shared the meatballs and a steak with a side salad, and you could tell that the food was high quality, very fresh, and prepared with care. It's a little expensive, but that's expected with a restaurant of this quality. I'd rather pay it here than at some lifeless fancy chain. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of the food, since we ate it too quick, but you can see how beautiful, quaint, and historic this place is in the ambiance photos I got. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice dining experience on the central coast.

I wish we went to Brydge the first night of our trip so we could come here everyday to try new dishes!!! Best meal of our trip by far, service was incredible and we absolutely loved every dish - standout was the Salmon! Highly recommend!!!

Google
Brydge was a delightful dining experience from the tasty drinks (I enjoyed a nonalcoholic lavender lemonade) to the fresh beat salad and to-die-for homemade bread to the perfectly prepared salmon. My favorite was the dark chocolate pudding for dessert—chef’s kiss! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Being served by the chef is as an added treat—she is lovely! I can’t wait to dine here again. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking for delicious, local food within an old historic house in Cambria.

Google
The food was 5 stars, hands down. Everything we ordered was fantastic: the beet salad, the polenta with shrimp, the pinsa bread and butter flight, the dark chocolate pudding. Our only complaints were that the bread/butter came out last, instead of first like you would expect, and also the bench seating was not so comfortable. They definitely seemed understaffed for a busy Friday night.

Dominic D.

Google
Rustic, old fashioned, simple, candle lit. We ordered more than we thought we would because it was so unique. Dining in pairs is the best bet. Service was good chef came out to ask us what we thought. Everything was unique. It is a bit spendy but if you are like us and from the central valley you won't be disappointed. Dishes are similarly priced to other basic restaurants. We ordered two starters and a supper for two, the prime rib, which was cooked perfectly. We will for sure be coming back for lunch tomorrow. Also not that it matters but as a gay couple we appreciate it being LGBT owned as an added bonus. So glad we decided to stop by. It got very busy over veteran's day weekend. So come early unless you dont mind taking your time and chatting while waiting for food. Wine was delicious. You can tell they care about what they do. 5 stars.

Yelp
Brydge Restaurant elevates the farm to table concept and offers a meticulously curated menu that will leave you beyond pleased. The Red Beets,Pluots, Oranges & Chèvre small plate was a perfect marriage of ingredients, making it my favorite dish. My burger loving son was fully satisfied with his perfectly grilled burger. And because we are suckers for classic simplicity, we also ordered the grilled cheese and it was the perfect balance of a crispy exterior and cheesy molten interior. Ambience was lovely and cozy and the service lived up the quality of the food. Well done Brydge, you have won us over!

Yelp
This was one of the best meals of my life! The crazy amount of love and attention-to-detail they put into their food is amazing. I can't remember what exactly we ate (we were there in Feb '25) but we ordered half the menu for dinner with some local wine and we cannot WAIT to go back in a couple of months! Looooved The Brydge! We will be back soon ;)

Yelp
Brydge is an absolute gem ! It's a quaint and cozy converted home located off of one of the main streets in downtown Cambria. It's intimate & small with devoted service. We enjoyed it so much, We ate there twice and ordered the same thing on each of our visits. They use fresh local produce, and have seasonal menus. We started with the Dolmas , which are a stuffed grape leaf filled with a delightful & fresh filling served over a yogurt tzatziki sauce & topped with zaatar. As a side, we ordered the mushrooms which were an insane blend of king mushrooms, trumpets , Cremini's, oysters, shiitake, etc. all topped with a bit of cheese and toasted breadcrumbs under the broiler. All I can say is OMG. The best! The Supper for two is served family style and is a very affordable option. We opted for the eggplant Parmesan, which was served with a tender nicely, dressed green salad, and their fresh pinsa bread. We asked for one of their flavored butters, which was absolutely divine.. I normally would never order a stuffed eggplant dish unless I was in an Italian restaurant, but this was so wonderful! They have a small but limited wine list which features many wines from the local wine region of Paso Robles. We loved the Grenache with the above pairing. Be sure to make a reservation as they do get quite busy on the weekends and due to the nature of their small size. Enjoy!

Yelp
My husband and I came to Cambria to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We came in for a late lunch/early dinner on a whim, after my husband found this place on yelp. We were kindly greeted and seated promptly. We ordered a few smaller plates- a beet salad and shrimp dish first and then a chicken dinner for two. Everything was delicious, clean and created with care! This was by far the best meal I've had in cambria thus far!

Yelp
Brydge Restaurant is a local spot in Cambria. It's right off the main road but one of the best spots for a farm to table meal. The plates are definitely shareable and I highly recommend the meatballs and beet salad! They were both packed with flavor and neither felt heavy. The staff were also super helpful with recommendations and the outside seating is an added bonus to a great atmosphere. Next time you are visiting or passing through Cambria, Brydge Restaurant is the spot to go!

Yelp
I love farm to table restaurants and after all the glowing reviews I had really high hopes for The Brydge. The ambiance was great, we were seated in a cozy room that even had rolled up blankets for the bench seating. We also had fantastic service, with great wine recommendations. Unfortunately the food fell short for all 4 of us. Maybe we came on a bad night but the food was really lacking in flavor and taste. It was quite pricey for a meal that no one particularly enjoyed unfortunately.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner at Brydge. We shared all our small plates. The bread and butter plate was original and delicious! The roasted mushrooms were excellent, well seasoned and presented. The shrimp and polenta was very good. The polenta was very good - buttery! The beet salad was fresh and tasted great. Now for the kicker. The Sicilian gelato! This was authentic, rich, creamy and delicious. It was the first time I have ever had authentic Italian gelato in the US. Service was good but it was a little too fast but no one rushed us, the dishes came out a lot quicker than we would have imagined. Highly recommend when you're in Cambria.

Yelp
Brydge Restaurant - Cambria's Hidden Gem Balancing Farm, Flavor, and Flair: Somewhere between the misty pines and the gentle lull of the Cambria coast, there's a little culinary secret tucked inside what looks like an old house stripped down to its bones. No stucco. No pretense. Just exposed wooden panels, thin air, and blankets draped over chairs because--well--there's no insulation and they're thoughtful like that. Welcome to Brydge Restaurant, where warmth is served as generously as the butter. And let's start there: the butter. Not one. Not two. But a flight of butters--each one a small edible poem. Classic creamy. Anchovy-infused (trust me, it works). And a sweet butter that practically winks at you. Spread them on soft, almost naan-like bread--light, tender, with just enough chew--and suddenly you understand what hospitality should taste like. Crystal rock salt sparkles across the top like culinary jewelry, a reminder that details matter here. We kicked off with a salad so fresh I half expected the radishes to blink. But it wasn't just freshness--it was thoughtfulness. The radishes weren't hacked into oblivion but lovingly carved into little curved scoops. Texture, flavor, shape--it all sang in harmony. Every bite felt like the chef actually cared. Because they did. Then came the potatoes: buttery, golden, with a kind of richness that's more comfort than calories. The kind you imagine your imaginary French grandmother might make. And the polenta? Tender, soft but holding its shape, dusted with shaved Parmesan that added just the right salty snap. Now, let's talk about the Philly cheesesteak--but this isn't your typical greasy gut bomb. This is Cambria's coastal chic cousin: thin-sliced Wagyu beef, grilled to juicy perfection, and cradled in bread so beautifully toasted it made the angels weep. No grease. No oil slick. Just clean, rich flavor with onions so caramelized and reduced they practically melted before they hit your tongue. Every detail at Brydge Restaurant seems to be tuned to the same frequency: earthy elegance. The tin plates--yes, tin--felt intentional, sitting lightly on rustic wood tables, creating a kind of farmhouse luxury that's rare these days. Even the glasses--thin, fatigued, slightly whimsical--added to the layered experience. And when the lavender Meyer lemonade hit the table? Pure sunshine. You could taste the hand-squeezed lemons, the delicate lavender--no syrups, no shortcuts. Just honest-to-goodness flavor. The mushrooms were another surprise: hearty, meaty, packed with umami and cooked until just the right moment. It's the kind of thing you don't think to order but are so glad you did. And that's the magic of Brydge--nothing here is just okay. Everything has a little twist, a little "wow," without ever shouting about it. Service? Spot-on. Present when you needed them, invisible when you didn't. No interruptions. No awkward hovering. Just genuine, warm hospitality that reflects the soul of this sweet little Cambrian town. In short: Brydge Restaurant deserves a spot on the Michelin Guide. It's that good. Farm-to-table without the fanfare. Comfort food with culinary brains. And above all, a dining experience that feels like home--if home happened to have a seriously talented chef in the kitchen.

Yelp
Brydge was a fun addition to our eats while in Cambria. The flavors of all the foods are unique. Loved the burger and lavendar carrots. Quaint patio, a perfect spot for lunch. Highly recommend!

Yelp
For our last night in Cambria we got a reservation at Brydge. When we walked into the historic home that houses the restaurant we found something really special. The restaurant was gently lit with understated paintings hanging on exposed wooden walls. There were even blankets piled in a corner in case you were cold and needed to bundle up for your meal. The whole place had a vibe like you were visiting a familiar and unassuming home (Maybe this is what it's like to visit home if your parents are interesting artists and good cooks?!). We ordered the steak dinner and the olive oil potatoes. Everything was straightforward, unpretentious, and very well prepared. The steak was generously portioned for two hungry guests, with a beautiful burnished crust, topped with butter and flaky salt. While obivously the center of the meal, it didn't outshine the simply dressed salad and charred flat bread accompanying it. Even the long spicy and sweet peppers accompanying the steak were remarkable in their own way, and excellent with the crisp potatoes or smashed into some butter on flat bread. The service was fast and helpful. Perhaps most noteworthy, we didn't feel pressured to buy more or go for the upgrades in an industry facing brutally thin margins. Instead, our server seemed to radiate the same vibe of quiet welcome pervading Brydge: feed people good food, help them feel welcome, but above all let them enjoy a quiet meal, as if they're somewhere like home.

Yelp
Complete and utter 10/10. Delphine was our waitstaff, she was amazing, attentive and made or meal 12/10. The restaurant is in an old house built in 1877 with redwood walls. It's so quaint. Now for the food: incredible! We ordered polenta with the heirloom mushroom medley - TO DIE FOR. Prime ribeye was so flavorful, like a party in your mouth. The quality of cut, the rosemary & butter, cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. There is an understated elegance here. Memorable.

Yelp
This restaurant is a Star. It's off the main drag in Cambria but well worth it. Delicious, fresh and innovative dishes. My daughter and I split sole, mushroom polenta, beet salad and cannolis. It was awesome. I was impressed.

Kala B.

Yelp
Fantastic food! Main gripe is the timing and lack of apology/self-awareness of it. I.e. kitchen was not smooth. Took nearly an hour to get our app: butter and bread. Took another 20-30 minutes to get our polenta with roasted mushroom and ribeye. We didn't risk ordering desert in case we'd be there another hour. Overall, great ambience, polite service, horrible timing.

Yelp
While staying at a nearby hotel with family, we found this resteraunt on Yelp and were pleasantly surprised! The place is a lot smaller than we expected but when walking in it was the most adorable quaint place you have ever seen. It was a home built in the 1800's that they turned into a resteraunt and we were all in love with the atmosphere. For food we ordered the reuben special sandwich, prime ribeye, and classic cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was very good and the bun was soft but crispy. The patty was very thick and cooked perfectly. The ribeye was a little on the smaller side but was so tender and juicy with butter and rosemary. And the reuben is a must try in sourdough bread! Overall the experience was a 10/10 and the server was a wonderful lady who answered all our questions and was very kind.

Real S.

Yelp
We knew this is an expensive restaurant when we decided to go here. But the food and ambiance just doesn't match its high prices. Small quantities, over-oiled, taste-deficient. Those are the three adjectives that come to mind in describing the food. Having said that, the service was very attentive. But that's just not enough to go back.

Yelp
10 out of 10 food gourmet delicious cooked perfectly. I would recommend the classic burger the service great super nice nice time. Ambience was great nice cozy old house just don't get lost looking for it as it blends in with the other houses.

Keren T.

Yelp
The place is cute but feels a bit awkward in layout since it's a house turned into a restaurant. The staff was pleasant, but my beet salad ($22) came well after I'd finished my tiny Wagyu burger ($26), which was only about 4-5 ounces, came with just lettuce and no sides. All of the other entrées are designed for two, so if you're dining solo or as a couple who likes different dishes -- tough luck. They also only offer two white wines and one rosé by the glass. I left hungry -- and I'm a small eater -- and even considered going somewhere else afterward. The flavors were mediocre at best, nothing special or memorable. It's a shame, because Cambria could really use more high-end restaurants, but this isn't it.
google avatar

Shila N.

Yelp
Food was good, but the eggplant portion was extremely small and definitely not enough for two people as the menu stated. It was not worth the $68. Overall, the place felt overrated.

Yelp
Top line: Brydge is underwhelming from start to finish given how much they charge. Go to Robin's instead. We stopped in on a Saturday for dinner. The service was forced and distance. Staff seemed very overwhelmed. She couldn't explain the wine list, I.e there were some interesting reds that were on the "sparkling list" that she told me were not sparking and when I pointed out the list of three wines under "sparkling" on her own restaurants wine menu she was still confused and then didn't offer to go figure it out. The menu, at first glance, has the infrastructure of a worthwhile, interesting meal but the execution, unfortunately, leaves you feeling like you got taken and might develop hypertension from the tremendous amount of salt. Our drinks (red wine and champagne) were brought in water glasses. I almost got up and left, but I decided to keep going. The Persian cucumber salad (pesto, kale + peppers included) which fit on a small bread plate for $17 was so salty we almost couldn't eat it. Clumps of pesto stuck in the crevices of the kale which was served as a butchered single leaf mixed in between ribbons of cucumber. The tough ends of the cucumber was nestled into the dish. We tried to cut the kale up into small chucks so it would distribute the salty pesto into the dish. No luck. The "pork meatballs" come in three and were tough ( should really be called sausages). $18. It took 1.5 hrs to get two drinks and three small plates. Our server never came back to ask how anything was. I stopped the only employee we saw who was running food to tables and let them know what needed improvement and that we needed our check. The response was "thanks for those notes". We left hungry and $90 lighter.

Yelp
This place is great for an intimate dinner. It's set in a cozy house that was built in the late 1800s. They have local art work adorning the walls and the staff are so friendly. Our servers name was Delphina I believe, wonderful woman, she told us a little about the house that the restaurant is in. My mom and I ordered the butter flight, the garlic shrimp with polenta and the beet salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the beet salad. It had beets, pistachios, chèvre, endive and an other greens. It was delicious. The butter flight had three butters, lavender, sardine and grass fed Irish. I enjoyed the lavender and sardine but my favorite was the Irish butter. It came with pinsa bread which is similar to focaccia but not as greasy. It's soooo good. The garlic shrimp on polenta was also good but I want to warn people of the spice level. It is a tiny bit spicy because of the Calabrian chili that's in it. The flavor is fabulous but if you are sensitive to spicy food, maybe let them know that you want to skip that ingredient, they seem to be very accommodating. We didn't have room for dessert but they do have two. One is the dark chocolate pudding which is similar to ganache and a pistachio gelato. If you havnt tried Brydge Restaurant out yet please do, your tastebuds will thank you.

Yelp
What an incredible little jewel of a restaurant we stumbled on during a brief stop in Cambria. Dog friendly patio seating, we enjoyed a late lunch that included sharing of plates of scrumptious food. We were well taken care of by Elaine and really had a wow experience here! The bread with the butter flight was SO good, apparently imported from Italy this dish a MUST if you are a butter fiend like we are. My personal second favorite were the carrots. This quaint restaurant is located in a historic house, and lived up to every rave review I saw.

Yelp
Outstanding! Creative menu, with quality ingredients. We enjoyed pork meatballs, roasted mushrooms (a fav!) an amazing cheese plate, the burger and a lunch pastrami Sammie. No detail is overlooked. We finished with the imported pistachio gelato with smoked sea salt...yum!! Nice wine recommends and great service with Chloe. First time here and we will be back!! A new Cambria fav.

Yelp
We have a "Meal for two". We paid 100.00 for one small ribeye, a very small salad and an even smaller side dish of cauliflower. Definitely Not worth the price. The steak was good, BUT NOT WORTH IT FOR TWO PEOPLE. Went home hungry. To bad.

Mhyon L.

Yelp
Incredible experience, amazing food, great service, soothing atmosphere, must visit, 10/10

Yelp
Skip the rest and go to the best! This farm-to-table restaurant is a pretty cool converted farmhouse come restaurant. We sat on the back patio looking up the hillside with Mexican Sage, red Hot Lips, and a resident hummingbird. Nice ambiance! My had the olives as a starter, the half-roasted chicken, with potatoes and salad. The food was delicious. I asked our server for a wine recommendation and she picked a winner for me. The sparkling lemonade was also quite refreshing. So, wander off the main drag and wander in to the Brydge Restaurant--on Bridge Street--and enjoy a lovely dinner!

Rie W.

Yelp
The food here is phenomenal. The service is impeccable. Every dish that we had from the beet salad, garlic shrimp, quail and potatoes was delicious. Hats off to the chef and the very kind and sweet server! I will definitely be coming back. You should come here before this place gets booked.

Yelp
I've been visiting Cambria for ages and a friend recommended Brydge. The service was great. The atmosphere was relaxed in an 1877 house converted to a restaurant. The wood paneling, art, earthy light fixtures and local wildflowers set the vibe. The food was excellent. We did all small plates. Olives, beet salad, the roasted mushrooms and sweet onions, polenta with sage leaves, brown butter and Meyer lemon oil. The mixed greens salad and the Pinsa bread. All delicious and a perfect serving for two people. We also did the dry cocktails - the Ginger Lime spritz and the pear blossom fizzy. Both excellent and refreshing. We will definitely be back!

Robert And Melva H.

Yelp
Food was great we've been a few times and you can't go wrong but the steak was over the top. Service was fantastic every time, very friendly and efficient. The ambiance very homey and beautiful.

Yelp
Great. Was so good for lunch, came back that night for dinner. Chef is the owner, serious food talent. House-turned-into-restaurant, chill vibe, really, really good food. Go and enjoy!

Aubrielle H.

Yelp
Brydge was my favorite restaurant ive ever been to. Eating here made me emotional. The owner and chef came out and poured our water and asked us where we were from. I could tell that they really cared about their craft, the space they create, and the people who came through it. It was truly an honor to eat here. The food was 10/10. I could taste the love. I had the reuben, the potatoes, and the pistachio ice cream. Im writing this yelp review 3ish weeks after I ate here because I believe that Brydge is special and I hope that it gets recognized as special and can touch other people in the way it touched me.

Yelp
Words cannot explain how amazing the steak is here. As the party next to me said, and I quote "This place ruined steak for me. How am I ever going to cook a steak like this? I can't do this at home!" We went a little overboard because we wanted to try everything. For us, the steak was the star of the show. Our second favorite was the mushrooms, simple yet delicate and flavorful, and lastly the clams to round out the bunch. I might be the only one that felt this way hit the potatoes were, well potatoes - that isn't to say that they were bad but with a menu like this I would have gotten something else instead. The electricity happened to go out so we ended up having the romantic aspect turned up a notch. I cannot praise the staff more it really feels like you're eating in someone's home and you're the VIP guest. A great dinner for a special occasion.

Meleah M.

Yelp
I was extremely underwhelmed by this restaurant, especially for what they are charging. According to some locals, this is the hotspot in town, but I just don't get it. The food was nothing special. It's the same beet salad you can get anywhere at any restaurant that has a beet salad on the menu. The charcuterie board was uninspired. There were two types of cheeses on the board that were way too similar, and the same goes for the two types of meat on the board, then just a couple pickled mushrooms, berries, and olives, and some tissue thin flatbread. There was nothing creative about it. The service was just OK. Our server did not explain any specials did not explain anything on the menu. Did not explain any drinks. Did not give any insight on any dishes whatsoever even when the dishes were delivered to the table. Then the server did not come back to check after the dishes were delivered. The ambience was nothing to write home about. Also, the lady that looked like she was likely the one in charge was extremely grumpy and insisted on being called Chef. I can tell this is the kind of spot where "Chef" thinks a little too highly of themselves and their culinary skills because nothing was mind blowing. Save yourself $300 and go somewhere else because I certainly left this place feeling hungry and disappointed.

Yelp
Was passing by on the way to San Jose. First the server J was excellent. The food was amazing. Their rib eye which I shared with my wife was out of this world. Beet salad 5 stars. I forgot my credit card there and i found out about that next day and 200 miles furthur. I called and at my request they offered to mail it to me in Orange County. Need i say more?? I will definitely be back

Yelp
An absolutely perfect restaurant for lunch. I tried the beet salad that was delicious with pistachios and chèvre. The oranges and beets were so fresh, and the flavors complimented each other well. I also shared the burger. The grilled onions were the best I've had. The bun was a perfect texture and size.

Don W.

Yelp
Very warm and welcoming ambiance and service. I went with numerous apps and was generally quite pleased.

Kate C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our evening. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly. We will definitely return.

Anna D.

Yelp
Have to say, the polenta with mushrooms is the best mushroom dish I've ever tasted. The quail dish was tasty, especially the lemon chickpea puree, but pricy! Really enjoyed the olive oil potatoes as well, and service was great.
google avatar

Christian A.

Yelp
Stopped by this past Sunday evening for dinner. Had one of the best rib eye steaks I've ever had in my life! Everything about this restaurant was amazing. Loved the historic building they are in and inside feels so quaint and well decorated. The service was excellent. Our server was well knowledgeable of not only the menu but of every individual ingredient of any dish. To accompany our steak, we also ordered the Shrimp starter, mushroom starter, and potatoes. Each of those dishes were delicious and so flavorful! You can definitely tell they use fresh and quality ingredients. The only thing I regret is not taking photos of the food that night because we were so hungry and enjoying every bite. I did manage to get a shot of the outside before we left. We had such a great experience for dinner and loved our food that we had the opportunity to come back for brunch the next day for their lunch menu. We had the Reuben sandwich and Wagu burger. We had no doubt the lunch menu items would be a hit just as the dinner items, and we were right! Definitely stopping by again at Brydge next time I'm in town and we will be back! Thank you Brydge Restaurant

Yelp
Short Review: Amazing locally-owned, locally- sourced food that is prepared to perfection. You can really taste the difference here. A must try if you haven't already! Long Review: I've been coming to Cambria regularly for the better part of 20 years, and to be honest I was just frequenting the same old places. However, on this trip a new one popped up on Yelp. This one! I read the menu, looked at the pictures and thought we should try it. It was something different and I was in the mood for different. Well, turns out it WAS different and GREAT!! Four of us shared a couple of small plates - olives and the butter tasting, which is three different types of butter they create and served with soft flatbread that they make from scratch. OMG it was all so scrumptious! Then we shared the wagyu prime ribeye and the other couple shared the eggplant cassoulet. OMG again!!! First off, I have a hard time sharing a steak because I'm a medium-well kinda girl and almost no one else is. I was sharing it with a medium-rare person, so we thought we were going to have a problem when we ordered it that way. But, no! I ate it! It was prepared perfectly, and was so tender and tasty!! Wow! That's DIFFERENT and a FIRST for me! The other couple really enjoyed their eggplant too, even though one of them was vegetarian and the other wasn't. He still loved it! The service was really great too. We were welcomed when we walked in even though everyone was busy. Our waitress was awesome in explaining everything to us and we enjoyed each of her recommendations. The place is small but quite intimate. You should definitely make reservations ahead of time. There is a covered outdoor patio out back as well which would be great for large dinner parties or celebrations. This is a HIGH RECOMMEND from me, folks! If you're in the area this is a must try!

Yelp
This place is definitely my must stop stops from now on. First of all, the service is perfection. I really appreciate the top notch service (especially during a time that we seem to have lost that) that we received. We started out with small plates. The roasted beets and polenta. Can I say? That was yummy and probably the best polenta I've ever had! It was drizzled with a lemon oil and a little cheese. It went well with the greens that came with the beets. We then decided to try 2 sandwich plates: the burger and the pastrami sandwich. Both were delicious but I loved the burger. Simple, but fresh and delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Wow sooo good. We had the rainbow carrots, olive oil potatoes, simple lettuces and polenta. Outstanding food and service and the place is sooo cute!

Yelp
The Brydge is a beautiful little rustic house that has been made into a restaurant. When we ventured in, the owner/chef met us and seated us at a little table by the window at a table where they had rolled up blankets as cushions (or blankets if needed). I ordered the grilled cheese with mushrooms and it came with a side salad. First off, I never order grilled cheese, but this sounded so good with the addition of mushrooms that I had to try it. I was happy that I did. The sandwich was perfectly toasted and gooey with two types of cheese and the unctuous mushrooms. It was the side salad that was the perfect balance. It was a dijon vinaigrette with dill and other seasonings. It was sooo good. I hope to go back someday!

Yelp
This is a strange review to write since I'll go with the questionable stuff first and then the good parts of the restaurant later. My friends and I went to this place on a Saturday night and after looking at the menu, we decided we would try the prime rib-eye steak. On the physical menu, the price was listed as $68 for the steak. However, we overheard a table next to us question their bill, because they too had ordered the steak thinking it was $68, but they were charged $86. When we placed our order for the steak, the staff explained to us that there was a price change in the steak, and it is not $68. The price is $86. The staff member said she wanted us to know about the price change, because 2 tables were unaware tonight when they ordered. My friends and I agreed to go ahead with our order. In hindsight now, I wonder if this was a restaurant price-gouging that night to their customers, or truly a mishap on the restaurant for not updating the menu properly to reflect the accurate price. This is questionable to me now, because the price of the steak is a significant difference, especially compared to restaurants such as Fleming's, and an almost $20 difference seems excessive and questionable. The steak was good, but not worth almost $90 in my opinion. One of the salads that came with the steak had a very tart dressing that overpowered the salad for us, so we recommend if you get that, just be prepared. However, our meal was overall good, but I don't feel it reflects the price for what we paid. We had the beet salad, grilled prawns, and garlic bread with different flavors of butter. As for service, we received great service. Sage, our waitress, was incredibly patient, warm, and sweet. She even brought us extra bread, which we so appreciate given the butter varieties we ordered to eat bread with. She really made the experience welcoming for us. This place is located next to Brydge Inn, literally. The lights weren't working outside the restaurant that night, so we got lost initially. The restaurant is an old cottage-looking, charming house converted into a restaurant. The décor is cute and cozy.

Yelp
This was one of those meals that I will remember for quite some time. The ambiance was perfect, service impeccable and the food was exquisite. Even the music was on point. This will be our go to restaurant from here on out while we are in the area.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Fresh, organic ingredients that were cooked to perfection! I can't rave enough about how great the food was, you HAVE to visit this place if you are in town. Service was good, and the ambiance was relaxed.

Yelp
Walked in before 4pm on a Sunday for 4th of July weekend after visiting Hearst Castle. Not busy at all, plenty of indoor seating. Outdoors was nice as well. It looks like a little house that converted into a restaurant. There's parallel street parking. Our server was so knowledgeable and he said rule of thumb is 2 plates a person to share (if just appetizers and not the house suppers aka main entrees). They didn't have anymore seafood chowder, so we got their substitute soup, the Tucson bean. SO good. My bf loved the mushrooms and the noodles. The potatoes were great, can be oily for some people. Amazing experience and nice to see fusion food around the area.

Yelp
I've been curious in trying Brydge since it opened a couple of months ago, so we had the chance to go while in town for lunch just before we left. We ordered some small plates (smushed potatoes and roasted beets), which were lovely: the potatoes were tender and the aioli were creamy, while the roasted beets were sweet and tangy from the goat cheese. My partner and I split the kimchi grilled cheese and mushroom burger. I was informed the kimchi is homemade, and it was pretty good: the sesame seeds were a bit excessive, but otherwise the kimchi was sharp, pungent, and had a kick to it. Grilled cheese part was gooey, crispy, and decadent: the American cheese was a bit bland, so it would've been nice to have the kimchi paired with mozzarella or Cheddar. The mushroom burger was juicy and the buns absolutely buttery, although a tad on the salty side. I also ordered a non-alcoholic drink (a "mocktail"), which was a ginger/lime spritz: SO sour, yet refreshing and a palate cleanser between bites. I'd be happy to try more mocktails on the menu! Service was friendly and warm; the servers and manager knew how to make us feel at home. Glad that Brydge opened up, and I can see Cambria becoming a foodie place, thanks to this restaurant!

Yelp
Best place for dinner in Cambria. Super chill service, tasteful interior, delicious food that is fairly priced. We went back twice in one weekend. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The halibut was outstanding. Cooked perfectly and so moist and served on a bed of greens. It was one of the specials that evening. Mushrooms, potatoes, chocolate pudding and pistachio gelato are worth coming back for. The beet salad could have been more beet forward but still a very nice salad. Pass on the butter flight and tomino cheese plate. Proper burger was had by a friend that night and said to be very good. Looking forward to trying the eggplant cassoulet next time. Great friendly service. Highly recommended.
