Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias

"If you’re after a relaxed, friendly environment, this striking beachside brasserie with faux industrial styling, blue leather banquettes and stunning sea views is the place to come. The owner is proud of his Welsh roots and it shows on the menu. Cooking is pleasingly unfussy and local seafood is to the fore." - Michelin Inspector

Saw this restaurant in the Michelin guide. Nice restaurant in a beautiful setting. Service was pretty busy during the breakfast. However, we didn't have to wait long for our orders to come. The members of staff were all nice and friendly, although we had to make an extra effort when we want grab their attention asking for the bill. All of them seem a bit disorganised. Taste, portions, and pricing of the food were reasonable. We enjoyed our breakfast experience with the beautiful view and went for a walk a long the beach after our meal. We struggled to find a sign about the parking charges, hopefully this could be sorted as we'd like to come back when we are in the area again.

Exquisite food, the fish was super delicate and my wife's beef pie was delicious. Super good service. We had a very romantic meal here.

Stopped here for afternoon tea with my dad. Had reservations. Staff was super friendly and even got us in early. The mint tea was amazing and the food with afternoon tea was perfection. The smoked salmon sandwiches were my favorite and the raspberry and lime jam is stupendous!

Booked to go here as it was in the Michelin Guide however felt it didn't really meet our expectations. Taste wise it was no better than average restaurant. Would not recommend the prawn starter, you have to peel it yourself however it wasn't cooked enough so the shell was hard to take off (the meat was cooked but just not to where the shell should naturally peel easily) and the sauce that came with it detracted from the taste of the prawns. The charcuterie is also so so. Wouldn't recommend The crab starter and main however was delightful. Monkfish was OK but the fishcake was so so. The dessert cheese was our first time having it and the waiter said it was similar to brie. Texture yes. Flavour no. Unfortunately it wasn't to our palate and I love majority of cheeses. As it was first time having I cant say if the cheese was meant to taste like that or it had sweated. Our main waiter was delightful however.

I cannot express enough how fantastic this place is. The food was incredible and some of the best fish we've ever had, and the service we had from Simon (very sorry if we didn't spell your name correctly!) was utterly impeccable and felt like we were dining in the finest restaurant in London. If you're in North Wales, you NEED to visit here!

A restaurant in the Michelin guide with a beautiful seafront view. Fish pie was delicious and food overall good, but menu a little bit limited in that there was only one vegetarian option. The highlight really was the desserts, so unique and flavourful, wish we could’ve tried all of them if we weren’t so full!

Beautiful view of the seafront, the decor of the restaurant is lovely. Staff was kind. The coffee was really good, although the food was average, decent full breakfast, good portion!

This place should have been a shoe-in for a five star review. Great location on the beach and owned by a renowned chef. The day was beautiful too. Service was friendly but the food was really disappointing. We started with prawns with Bloody Mary ketchup - which could have done with having their dirt track removed but weren’t bad. The fried mussels were really tasty and warm but weirdly, served on crushed ice - which kept getting into the open shell. The real issue was with the fish pie. It looked beautiful when it arrived but had no flavour. I mean, plenty of fish and a lovely potato mash top but no taste. Also no seasoning. I would typically be looking forward to some mustard or even cheese sauce background flavour, but nothing! If someone told me the kitchen had forgotten to add 3-4 ingredients and salt and pepper, that would have explained things. So, I made the cardinal sin of eating it anyway because I was hungry and it wasn’t bad. Also, it took 30 mins to make and I didn’t want the hassle of sending it back without knowing it could be improved. We skipped dessert and bailed out. Big shame. I think Bryn Williams needs to do some spot checks on the food that’s going out in his name.

Yelp
I found this restaurant on a Michelin guide for the area. I booked it assuming it to have a star (spoiler, it didn't). We had a nice enough table in a restaurant that did actually fill up, so folks do like it. I was not quite as impressed as I hoped to be. That isn't to say that service wasn't good, or the quality of the food not acceptable. They both were. But there was something just not quite clicking for me. Only two days later did I realize what it was. Here is a place with an amazing view of the Irish Sea, on a popular coastal shoreline. Folks come for that and the rest (good service, food) is icing on the cake. I suggest that the owners try to do a makeover on the customer experience if they do want to get a coveted star. We left satisfied but not dazzled, like I had hoped we would be.

Yelp
Far too expensive, a poor service and little choice with very small portions. Drink are also very expensive too, and the tv chef doesn't even work there!
