The 13 Best Banh Mi Sandwiches In Austin

"After spending a few years hopping around the Austin area in a little red food trailer, B’s Kitchen eventually settled down with a permanent space on Anderson Mill Road. The meats here get tossed in a sweet and savory sauce before hitting the grill, resulting in great crispy edges on thick cuts of pork belly, pork shoulder, and chicken—but that doesn’t mean the classic cold-cut version is any less deserving of your attention. There’s also a housemade chili sauce that packs a little heat and some extra roasted flavor that you’ll want to slather all over your sandwich. " - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

B’s Kitchen - Review - Anderson Mill - Austin - The Infatuation

"After spending a few years hopping around the Austin area in a little red food trailer, B’s Kitchen eventually settled down with a permanent space on Anderson Mill Road. The meats here get tossed in a bit of sweet and savory sauce before hitting the grill, resulting in some great crispy edges on thick cuts of pork belly, pork shoulder, and chicken, but that doesn’t mean the classic cold cut version is any less deserving of your attention. There’s also a housemade chili sauce that packs a little heat and some extra roasted flavor that you’ll want to slather all over your sandwich. Food Rundown photo credit: Nicolai McCrary Pork Belly Banh Mi The pork belly banh mi is probably their most popular item, and with good reason. A long strip of tender, grilled meat runs down the middle of a toasted baguette, accompanied by a handful of pickled carrots and cucumbers. It’s just the right amount to balance out the richness of the pork belly. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary Pork Shoulder Banh Mi Our personal favorite, the pork shoulder banh mi is dressed the same as the pork belly, but with just a little more bite in the meat. The pork is cut into smaller, bite-sized pieces, so there’s more surface area to pick up some char from the fire. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary Bun Ga Nuong The vermicelli bowls here are another great choice, and almost enough for two full meals. Their menu only lists bun thit nuong (grilled pork) but when you order you’ll have your choice of meat. We went with the chicken—it’s juicy and savory, and tastes great over a bed of vermicelli noodles, covered in fried onions." - Nicolai McCrary

B’s Kitchen Vietnamese Cuisine has excellent flavors! I found my new favorite bahn mi place! I also ordered the beef rice noodles which was also excellent. Owner and chef Jimmy is a friendly hardworking guy. I will be back. Thanks B’s Kitchen!!

Way overdue to write a review. I used to make a special trip from Leander down to Austin when Chef Jimmy had a location down on Cesar Chavez in Austin. Was thrilled when I heard he relocated to Cedar Park! I've had all of their sandwiches and a few noodle dishes and everything has been excellent. My favorite sandwiches are the beef, chicken and pork shoulder. The bread is very fresh and Chef Jimmy has always made things to order depending on spice preference. Highly recommend!

One of, if not the best place to get Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches in Austin. I do like to get your traditional Banh Mi, which is great here, but it's not like I can get Pork Belly Banh Mi anywhere else so that is my go to sandwich here. The bread is nice and crispy, not too thick, bready, or dry. The Pork Belly is nice fat and juicy, which is great for me. Chef Jimmy is super nice, he will make your food any way you prefer I like my pork belly spicy so he'll cook mine up in chili oil, it can be a bit spicy and messy, so it might not be for everyone. His traditional Bun thit Nuong (chicken, beef, or shrimp) with egg rolls over rice vermicelli noodles is great. Chef Jimmy also has the occasional specials, his Pho was amazing, I wish it was a regular menu item. Now that he has a brick and morter store open, you gotta give it a try. I got the chance to stop by when it was not busy. The Pho was not my favorite, most likely cuz he was out and we got the last batch. He has added Bun Bo Hue (BBH) to his menu and it is great. Not too spicy but the broth is nice and flavourful, and those homemade pork meatballs are delicious!!!

First time trying B’s Kitchen. I ordered the Buddha Tofu Banh Mi with Vietnamese Iced Coffee & my friend ordered the Pork Belly Banh Mi - both were fantastic. We will definitely be back. 💫

Delicious Banh Mi Sandwiches! I ordered the cold cuts sandwich and the Grilled Pork Shoulder Sandwich. Both are packed with flavor and textures. The chili oil sauce adds a good kick. I'm looking forward to my next visit. I will be ordering the Pork Belly Sandwich. Yummy!

Small Vietnamese restaurant in Cedar Park, soon to be closing Sept. 18th, and moving to Anderson Mill. The banh mi is one of my faves in Austin, has the crispy yet fluffy bread with lots of meat and veggies inside. Also really enjoyed their pate. Their bun thit nuong is pretty impressive! This box is pretty heavy, at least a couple pounds so they definitely do not skimp on portions. It's very good. The owner was also super friendly! Their current restaurant does not have any sit down tables, but there is a big shaded rock on the side of the building that some people eat at. Hopefully the new space will have a dine in option.

I ordered the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls. The food was amazing! The egg rolls are delicious by themselves and even better with the grilled pork. Also the pho is pretty damn good! It might be a little pricey but overall, you'll get good food and great service
