Best Restaurants Near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"BTJ Wings is located in the Walmart plaza in Vine City, a half mile west of the Benz. While the restaurant does offer other items like a Philly cheesesteak, burger, and even shrimp fried rice, the wings are the stars here. Wings come in garlic pepper, Cajun, extra hot, and lemon pepper." - Beth McKibben

This is my first time ordering from this place. My coworker recommended them to me because I was trying to find a spot to me some lunch. My food was delicious and fresh. It was cooked to order. I will definitely be returning

Sharon Thornton (VESTA)

Google
The good thing is they have small wings. The sauce tastes like a ketchup base w/vinegar and spices. The only thing was my Shrimp fried rice was dry and clumpy, with a good amount of shrimp. The eggs inside the rice was as brown as the rice, where I thought none was in there. I give them a 3 on rice, 7 on wings and a 7 on Philly sandwich, overall. Try for yourself

This is my first time visiting this establishment. I really, really want to rate the meal I purchased a negative 10. I purchased the large House Rice. I do not advise anyone to waste his/her money on this. 1. The rice was overcooked, gummy, dark, and sweet. Why? Why? Why? 2. The vegetables were few and old; they were not fresh at all. 3. Meat: Shrimp: maybe five, Chicken was dry, and The other meat was some type of shaving, fried! If you don't know how to prepare a dish, just don't offer it on your menu. I want my money back.

Love this place. My favorites are the chicken phillies, wings, fish, tenders and fries. Always fresh and customer service is equally as good. I do not recommend their hamburgers though.

Well, I have been going to this place every other day for a little over a year for lunch. I have brought people here and referred Clark Atlanta students to this place. I didn't have any problems with getting a sauce for my chicken and a sauce for my celery by the owner, his wife, and workers, until I saw a white girl work in this place 1 day. After that the owner had a problem with giving me 2 sauces. Still his workers or his wife had no issue. Just him. Now I'm thinking how they are in our neighborhood taking our money across town to his neighborhood but got the nerve to act like this to me. IEveryone around is giving sauces. t's rude and direspectful when I have helped him resolve situations with other customers. I guess he forgot there is 2 other wing spots in the area. Now, I will send the students there. To the owner you let 1 white girl come and mess up my experience there. So I will show you what yall can do with this wing spot and your sauce. The food ain't that good anyways unless it's crispy. Folks don't waste your time with this poor service place!

Google
This was my first time at BTJ I had the wings shirmp and fries the wings are medium size not to bad the shirmp you just have to tell them fry it hard lose batter fries are the good ones not the cheap kind prices right what you would expect this time around

Google
This (Atlanta University Center) neighborhood wing spot had friendly owners willing to serve, hot tasty food, great scores, and affordable prices.

Google
Fish (Tilapia & Whiting shown here) is not salty. Fish is crispy but not over crispy. You can request 'crispy' OR 'well crispy'. The hot wings (Hot - Honey Garlic Pepper shown here) are the best (fried), thus far. No call-in orders.

Yelp
Once again, I tried this place out. I am so not impressed. They're some of the worst wings I've had & I'm a huge wing lover. The lemon pepper seasoning has that over lemony, salty, pine sol taste. The hot wings were salty. No lie, my mouth shriveled up from all the salt. I should have went to Atlanta Wings down the street. The peach tea was good though. I'm never coming here again.

Yelp
i usually have a place in Gwinnett that I go to but since I was In the neighborhood I decided to try out a new place. I ordered Cajun extra crispy wings al'l flat. the wings weren't really good at all compared to what I'm used to and the fries werent good. overall a good experience and they had the game on. not too long of a wait either for my food.

Yelp
I love eating here the service is always great, they have a variety of food on the menu.I love their chicken wings and house special fried rice.

Yelp
BTJ will always have a place in my heart lol. I used to go here faithfully when I was in college. I would always order my usual, a 10 piece mild meal, and they would never disappoint. I'm very picky about mild sauce on wings, but btj's mild sauce that I really like. They always came through with seasoning to put on my fries once I get my order. I'm gonna have to make a trip back to the West End asap, I miss it.

Yelp
Very clean place, very nice lady running the front desk and the food was very good and great price for what I got. I got a 10pc wings combo with shrimp fried rice and drink for $12.00. Small place but I can see why a lot of college and locals eat here. Tasty food at good prices.

Yelp
Close to home. More than just wings. Why have I never been in here before? I'll be back. Spent $10

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are always on a quest for tasty wings. After searching for some places online with good reviews, we came across BTJ wings. BTJ Wings is in the same parking lot as the Walmart and there was plenty of parking. Walking in, the place was crowded and there was a bit of a wait before we placed our orders. We got 20 chicken wings ($12.99) that were BBQ and Honey Lemon Pepper, an order of fries and I got a Chicken Philly Cheesesteak ($5.49). Although the restaurant was crowded, our food didn't take that long; it took about 15 minutes. When the lady brings you your order, she opens the container so that you can see your food. The fries aren't seasoned, but they have plenty of seasoning that you can add yourself (Garlic Powder, Season Salt, Ketchup, etc) at the counter. After going back to the apartment, we finally tried our food, and it was pretty good! The clear highlight of our meal was the chicken wings. The wings were small but had a lot of flavor to them. Since the wings were so cheap, we regretted not ordering more. The chicken philly steak wasn't bad, though the bread tasted somewhat stale. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone in search of good wings.

Velvet J.

Yelp
The wings are amazing! The honey lemon pepper are great! The only downfall is the location as well as the amount of sauce they give free with a 30 piece. They only have 3 sauces and I had to buy the remainder needed for our family. The shrimp fried rice was also really good!

Lakayla M.

Yelp
My first time last week was great! Post pandemic, my faithful wing spot switched to the big wings so I had to leave them. My boyfriend hates bone in wings so this is the perfect place for me place for us. He got a chicken Philly + boneless wing combo and I got a six piece combo. We loved it. I prefer small wings. I swear I can taste the steroids on jumbo wings. I also love a place that has peach/lemonade since it's hit or miss; they also offer it on door dash which is super rare in Atlanta. Writing this review is gonna make me go back tonight.

Yelp
Okay this Wing Spot has it together and the price was right... It's a true hole in the wall my favorite kind of restaurant, it smelled like food was being cooked and the seasoning was in the air... Had my taste buds open had to grab a 50 piece....

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE the catfish dinner. Love the prices. And tonight I expected to wait like 15-20 minutes because they were packed but NO. 5 stars. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
BTJ... I have been to this spot numerous times in my college career. A prime location, within walking distance of the AUC. Very fast and excellent service. Prices are very formidable, for a college student. My order tends to be the 12 piece half lemon pepper and half medium wings. This place is truly a staple in the west End. Family friendly environment for everyone to enjoy.

Yelp
I love this place! They have some of the best wings and I love their fried rice. I just hate that they close early
google avatar

Suzanne B.

Yelp
First time going. I got a 10 piece with chicken fried rice. The wings were delicious, seasoned very well. The chicken in the rice on the other hand was super dry. Thank goodness for soy sauce. I'd definitely go back again though and get their wings.... If the chicken fried rice had been better would've been 5 stars.

Yelp
Best wings in Atlanta. The Ranch flavor is fire, never have to tell them crispy and always fresh.
google avatar

Tracey L.

Yelp
Horrible catfish, cooked in old grease, old fish and a flour batter, which is unheard of. The fish had a weird taste, it was rubbery, and super thin to the point where the flesh was practically non-existent. The fries weren't good, basically flavorless and hard as a rock. Will never go there again! I want Atlanta to get some good food. This place is awful.

Yelp
Stopped here when I arrived to campus around 1:30 and they had a nice steady late lunch crowd. I ordered the 6 piece combo that came with fries and a drink. They allow you to mix flavors which is awesome, I went with bbq and medium mixed. The wings were a bit small, but despite that they were very very good and sauced perfectly. Also the lemonade was very fresh. It tasted homemade! I would definitely come back to BTS if I was in the city.

Yelp
Located in the Walmart shopping center on the west end. I ordered honey Garlic pepper wings and fries , they were good but I was expecting a thicker , sticky sauce vs a thin watery sauce , but I would recommend this place ,

Yelp
I like this spot. The customer service is hit or miss, but the food is consistently good. I normally get the wing meal with hot teriyaki sauce. The wings are fresh to order and the price is reasonable.

Kadejah B.

Yelp
Was just there and there was a hornet inside I let someone know only because 1 I'm pregnant 2 I'm severely allergic to wasp and hornets the first thing she says to me is there's nothing I can do about then she goes to tell her boss about the hornet and then when she's giving me my food she was very rude I was trying to explain that I only said something because I'm allergic she ignored me I just feel if your not happy with your job then you could have picked a different job some people would love to have a job in these times l.......

Christina S.

Yelp
Wings are always good. And yes the wings are small but they are supposed to be! Those fat chicken wings are not natural chickensss! The rice is a bit non flavorful but nothing some sauces can't fix. My issue is that they do not take phone orders. Which i wish they did because goin here its always busy! But you'll be happy once you eat your food.

Yelp
This is just a quick go to spot. Their biggest seller are their wings. Most people dining here ordered wings. I had the philly cheesesteak & 6 wing combo. The cashier was new & did mess up my order but the food was just ok so it turned out to work in my favor. The wings were crispy & flavorful. The cheesesteak was a bit too salty for my taste. I did however enjoy the juice (lemonade, peach, & fruit punch). 3 stars because there is nothing standout about the restaurant and because the order was messed up. Other than that, very little complaints.

Pauline H.

Yelp
The lemon pepper wings were good. I also got honey garlic wings-- they were OK. I also go their crinkled fries- had no seasoning no complaints here because I can add my own seasoning. I also order their fried rice-- tasted really bland, it had a semi-sweetness to it almost tasted like they added teriyaki. There was barely any carrots, peas, or egg in the fried rice.

Shakeria S.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed at all. Wings were super small and the shrimp fried rice had no taste at all. They give give you one tiny cup of ranch to go along with 10 wings. I would at least expect two. I've had better wings.
google avatar

Thomas J.

Yelp
So, a friend ordered a philly and said it was decent but a little skimpy on the meat. I thought, cool, I'll try it and get the same thing. Tell me why it was the same amount of meat in it. Don't waste the cash for a dishonest business practice.

Yelp
These young ladies are soooo sweet and welcoming and the food was amazing I'll be back for sure

Yelp
I live near here and was happy to see a wing spot in the area that wasn't nasty AF! I've been here more times then I can count so I should've been reviewed this place! When I initially started coming here about a year or so ago, the staff was pleasant, and there was just a friendly atmosphere. There'd be nice light music playing and suggestions would be given! NOW it's always crowed, filled with mostly college students (as its near AU Center). There's even the occasional bum who comes in to beg as you're waiting for food. The service has always been slow BUT friendly. They don't have a phone to call ahead to place orders and they're very casual about the service being slow! Yet, I come back again n again because the wings are delicious, not too small or too big. They have over 6 flavors..good for mix combinations! Good fries n fried rice! The phillies are also good and the fried fish is just okay. It's a great spot for wings if you're in the area but don't expect to be in n out!

Larry B.

Yelp
This place is to be a great place but after the new manager took over it been down hill ever since the wings are small and taste ok but everything else sucks.the menu have went up on the prices by at least $1 for nothing more and i don't think they ever clean the nozzle on the soda machine be careful with that

Tracey B.

Yelp
I have been visiting here for several months now. The food for the most part is good. However the customer service is horrible. The cashiers have no respect for the customers. The cashiers are always on the phone, looking in the mirror and taking selfies. I don't understand why management allows this to go on. Even though the food is good, the employees will run the customers ago.

Nikita H.

Yelp
My mother was the first to try this restaurant one day with one of her friends. They stopped there for lunch, and raved about how fresh their fried catfish tasted, and how affordable the prices were. The next day, my father went and picked up dinner for the entire family. He said the place was packed, but the customer service was excellent, the people were nice, and the food was fast and fresh. With both of my parents being catfish connoisseurs, lol, they are very picky when it comes to fresh seafood, and they both said it was some of the best tasting fried catfish they ever had! They said it wasn't over seasoned, the crust was crispy, light, and didn't fall apart after taking one bite. Needless to say, when we have family visiting from out of town, we pick up food from here, and they have nothing but great things to say about the food. I'm thoroughly impressed by this business and would recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
After shopping at Walmart Historic Westside Village, I noticed BTJ Wings and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I asked the cashier how long they've been opened and she said about two months. I let her know it was my first time there and she gave me a complimentary soda. I ordered the six piece teriyaki wings with a side of fried rice to-go. The food is made to order and my wait time was minimal. The customer service is excellent, and most importantly, my food was fresh & delicious! I'm thinking this place will do great business being that's it's within walking distance to the Atlanta University Center and the fact that the Walmart at this location doesn't have a deli that sells food to-go. I definitely will be returning because this place doesn't just have wings but fish and burgers as well, which I will review in the near future. If you're in the area and hungry it's definitely worth checking out.
