"A lively restaurant housed in the historic rooms of an old shop, where the traditional dishes change regularly in line with the seasons. Highlights include the bucatini alle sarde (pasta with sardines) and fish involtini." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent restaurant! We were very lucky to receive a table without a reservation (I would not recommend trying this! It is fully booked for a reason!) The menu is great, accessible, not too big but with plenty of choice. Great wine selection and great food. Will definitely return.

This restaurant is very well located at the heart of Palermo and it is not expensive. The ingredients are fresh and of good quality. I especially like the tuna fish, which cannot reach this consistency except it is of good quality. The two pastas are relatively mundane. The ring shape pasta is not bad, but the flavouring is not creative. The spaghetti’s taste is something new for me, but I find the taste of dill is too strong and lacks a balance. The spaghetti is a little bit too hard for Asian standard. The fried seafood dish is not bad, still it is not creative enough. The staff is friendly and helpful. The decoration is with taste and atmosphere is good, however, as a Michelen recommended restaurant, it might be a little disappointing because they are not creative enough.

Nice inventive fresh Sicilian food. On the pricey side. Service was odd, lots of different servers, didn’t know the daily specials, and very slow to get attention and the bill.

Tried this restaurant in January (only just finding time to review) My brother wanted to try the restaurant for his birthday since it was in the Michelin guide. It was certainly on the more expensive meals we paid while in Palermo, it was one of the most disappointing meals we had that weekend. Palermo has such a great range of restaurants and far better value and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The service was very poor, from the moment we were ‘greeted’ at the door to the service throughout the meal. The food was below average, you can see from presentation (see pictures) to the execution of the dishes, it was nothing special, my pasta was over cooked and it reminded me of spaghetti hoops you get in a tin (see picture). Save your money and eat somewhere local, you’ll get better service and food at a more reasonable price. I’d like to add that I live in London so I’m used to paying for quality dinners, but I also understand that paying for such, you should get good service and a good quality meal, and here I did not hence why my poor review.

I was a disappointed with the restaurant, especially since it was rated a Bib Gourmand by Michelin. I understand al-dente pastas, but the one I had, felt raw. The rest of the dishes did not impress. I felt there were more deserving restaurants in Palermo.

We didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to give us a table with full house. The staff was extremely nice and helpful with the recommendations. Everything tasted otherworldly. We got some delicious appetizers with shots. The pastas were really good, I can understand why this restaurant is on the Michelin Guide. The textures, the flavours and the portions were perfect. We finished our dinner with some desserts and those were great as well, to sum it all it was one of the best food experiences in Sicily. I would go back for sure.

Fantastic place at the heart of Palermo! The attention to the quality of the dishes is above average. We had the friend cacio, angioletti with veal ragout and a pasta alla norma, which in hindsight I wish I could have ventured for a more elaborated dish! But the absolute highlight of the lunch was the cassata. A MUST!!! It has been 4 days since we ate there and we keep talking about it.

Don’t hesitate to eat here. Delicious dishes. Great service. Cozy atmosphere. The best Casaata is here.
