Yelp
I loved this tiny little restaurant on the west side of Wilton drive. We came during a rainy time early on a Sunday. We were able to walk in without reservations -- which was lucky as we scored a low top table (there are only a few). Other tables are high tops or at the bar/counter.
We were greeted warmly on entering and had our temperature taken. We then had our choice of seating. I'd looked at previous menus -- knowing they change a bit -- so I had some idea of what I wanted.
They had oysters on special for only $1 each! My husband got a dozen of the raw on the half shell apoalachicola ones. They were gorgeous to look at and he said wonderful eating. I don't eat raw oysters, but they were nice enough to make an "off the menu" special request (at a different price, of course) -- they baked up 4 oysters with lots of sliced garlic, butter, and cheese. All went well with their freshly made warm bread which I dipped into the shells. No vampires in my neighborhood would be coming anywhere near me....
After the oysters, my husband had their bone marrow. Three large pieces served with bread to dip in the rich filling. This isn't my thing either, but he was a very happy camper.
Before my baked oysters, I dined on their burrata salad. The cheese was creamy and spreadable on the large piece of toast. There were cherry tomatoes, too, on top of a bed of dressed arugula. It was a good starter -- big enough to share.
We were too full for dessert, but they sounded appealing as well. While waiting out the worst of the rain, we were entertained by a group of gals on their third bottle of rose and plates of oysters -- just enjoying themselves.
I'd had this place bookmarked for a couple years... but a shout out to fellow Yelp elite Florence P. After reading her review, I knew I just had to make a visit happen soon! So thank you Flo. We came, we ate, we enjoyed. The service was great; the food delicious; the ambiance warm and cozy. And yes, I'd love to go back...,
