We are returning guests to Buckhorn Inn. I love the history and quaintness of the property that dates back to 1938. I had only stayed in the cottages in the past but this time we booked a traditional room in the main house due to #1 availability and #2 to save some money. I’ll admit I was apprehensive at first about a room in the house but I ended up loving it!!!! Almost more than the cottages. It’s a feeling I suppose ….as an adult when you have no parents or grandparents homes to return to ….but at the Inn you feel enveloped in comfort and love. Nestled might be a good word to describe the feeling- like going back in time to grandmas house. The amenities are wonderful- comfortable beds and pillows- nice chairs for sitting- and the bathroom even has a tub which I did enjoy. No matter what room or cottage you book - if rest, peace, and contentment is what you are looking for - you will find it at Buckhorn Inn. Also the food is outstanding- we booked dinner both nights and it was amazing and we did not have to fight traffic or crowds. It’s quiet , relaxing and elegant but with a down home feeling as well. Breakfast is included in your stay and they are like breakfast you have never had !!! Delicious muffins or coffee cakes- and a hearty meal of your choice. Something for everyone’s palate. They also put out sweet treats at 3PM - so extra hospitality is everywhere. Love Love Love this wonderful place, atmosphere, owner and staff.

A true gem – everything was perfect! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming inn. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such kindness and warmth. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure everything is just right. The room was comfortable, with a lovely view. We also truly enjoyed the meals — everything was delicious, from dinner to the tasty breakfast. If we lived closer, we’d come here all the time. It was a real favourite place. Highly, highly recommended!

I had heard good things about the Buckhorn Inn for years, but had never visited. We recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and were looking for a low-key, relaxing destination. Buckhorn Inn was perfect!|From the time that I called to make the reservation, I felt welcomed. Tracy was great at answering questions that I had. |All of the staff and owners were very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner on the first night and everything was delicious, especially the bread. (that is my weakness) The breakfasts were wonderful. Unfortunately, dinner was not available the second night of our stay. Tracy was helpful in giving suggestions though.|Our room in Cottage 3 had a wonderful view. The weather wasn't great, so Mt. LeConte was often hidden behind the clouds. |The only problem we had during our stay, was that we hit the wrong button on the (wrong) remote. We left a message at the Front Desk and Tracy was at our door within minutes, to correct it. |On our last day, Debbie helped us with check out and was also very friendly.|We plan on visiting again.

What an amazing place to stay. My grandfather told me about this place and he used to visit in the 1950s. We were in the blue room on the second floor, and the views were amazing. The grounds around this bed-and-breakfast were amazing and we enjoyed walking every day. I wanna give a special shout out to the chef is the breakfast or outstanding, that’s blueberry, streusel that I’ve had in a long time. The staff was super friendly, always said hello and asked how are you doing? I am definitely coming back to the Buckhorn in every year. I still recall, sitting in the rocking chairs and enjoying the view with a cocktail in my hand, paradise.

Our first visit and it was memorable! We loved that we could take a nice walk on their nature trail with so much to see including two swans. A friendly guest suggested taking some of the lettuce they grow specifically for guests to take to the swans and we did. The staff is very wonderfully kind and attentive. I noticed how there would be 2 to 4 working breakfast and each one would pop by with something or remove plates. They were paying attention to everything and with a smile. The other guests we spoke with were so friendly and had stayed many times here. The breakfasts were delicious and the biscuits and muffins were amazing.

Such a beautiful place with exceptional food and the best service. Probably or tenth or so time to come and every time we go, can't wait to go again. A special thanks to Agatha, whose service was really next to level. Very accessible to gatlinburg, but not in all the hustle and bustle. We stayed in the tower room, which was very quaint, but a few stairs. Don't tell them, but I think it's the best value for what you get anywhere in the area. And I'd live in knoxal.

This was our first experience at Buckhorn Inn. Access to the property was easy and the directions provided were excellent. Gorgeous historic property. Homemade breakfast included and was exceptional. We really appreciated the accommodations and the quiet retreat. Staff friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
What a lovely stay! I have always dreamed of a true "B&B" experience, and this was exactly what I imagined! The staff was so incredibly warm, welcoming, and courteous to us the entire stay. We were welcomed with a tour of the inn, the dining area, the library/reading room, and the downstairs living room, and then we were shown to our adorable room. They also provided us with some of their complimentary spiced tea, which they make themselves. We did not partake in the dinner, as we had other plans, but it smelled heavenly! The complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious - it's a table service experience and came complete with freshly baked biscuits, freshly baked berry coffee cake, and freshly made eggs benedict. The coffee tasted great! The inn-keeper came and greeted us during breakfast. They were also very ready and able to accomodate my husband's GLUTEN-FREE needs (they had a homemade bread/toast that he was able to have with his breakfast, and with the eggs benedict). Overall a wonderful experience, and we already hope to return for our next anniversary.

Yelp
What a lovely, charming Inn for rest, relaxation and family fellowship on this Cousins Reunion weekend. I hope to return soon! The Buckhorn Inn was built in 1938 amidst the solitude and beauty of the Smokey Mountains. What you'll find here: *The main lodge contains 10 rooms. Three nearby guest houses accommodate families and friends traveling together. *Their breakfast and dinner dining options are delicious with breakfast included- however reservations are required for both seatings. Boxed lunches are available with advanced ordering and $8 per person. Dinner is a set four course menu and served at 7:00. *Enjoy nearby hiking and exploring the Smokeys and close to nearby attractions such as Dollywood.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is a treasure. The service is incredible, the food is divine, and the views/atmosphere transport you back in time. We love coming back here for our anniversary to share a dinner to celebrate. The view of the mountains during dinner is incredible. We can't say enough good things about this place. Chef Frank, Agatha, and Clayton were an amazing team that served us a beautiful evening. Thank you all so much!

Yelp
The Buckhorn Inn is a wonderful throwback to a kinder and gentler time. You may choose guest houses, traditional rooms, premier rooms and private cottages. Channeling our inner Walt Disney we chose a cottage as he did when he stayed here in the 1950's. The cottage has a screen porch, bedroom w/master bath and Jacuzzi tub, living room and kitchen..... along with a beautiful view of the mountains. This is a fantastic place to unwind, enjoy nature and some pretty fantastic breakfasts too. The staff is friendly and attentive, along with the buildings and grounds looking right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. While this our first visit, we are planning a return trip in fall to enjoy the fall colors.

Cindy R.

Yelp
OMG! Hubby and I had dinner here and the food was amazing from the soup to the entree to the dessert. Everything was seasoned perfectly. If l lived closer, I would celebrate every occasion there.

Denise M.

Yelp
I found the Buckhorn Inn through an Eater Nashville article recommending their nightly dinner. Upon checking out their website, I was enchanted and booked into a cottage. We were only able to enjoy dinner one night but we had breakfast and afternoon treats 3 days. The staff is great. The grounds are beautiful. The food is delicious. I can't wait to return!

Nic G.

Yelp
This is a great alternative to the many, many more of the same lodging options in Gatlinburg proper. Do yourself a favor and give yourself a buffer from all that and all the crowds! This is a historic lodge with gorgeous grounds and friendly people. The facilities are all updated and everything in our cabin was very clean. Our cabin (#7) included all the amenities we could want, including robes. Smoky Mtn hiking is just down the road. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I had last visited the Buckhorn Inn roughly 30 years ago. At that time it was kind of worn and run down looking. However, times have really changed. The entire Inn has been updated under new owners. The place is fantastic, beautifully done, and the grounds and views are wonderful. Plus the staff couldn't have been better. Before the trip, my knee, that I had put off having replaced, finally gave out. When we arrived one of the staff carried our suitcases to our room. When she had finished I tried to give her a decent tip, but she refused it. Their employees don't accept tips. Then, without being asked, she brought us some of the brownies that were the afternoon treat. The big surprise (for me) came at breakfast. After being offered our choice of three different coffees and a few freshly made juices, the food was incredible. There were menu choices each morning, or you could order other items individually. Add in two fresh baked items (biscuits, coffee cake or...) each day; eggs Benedict variations (country ham in it, or shaved mushrooms and spinach); waffles, etc. And I can't compliment the staff enough. I have one major regret while staying there. Before arriving I had received repeated offers for dinner reservations there. Remembering how the place had been 30 years ago under different owners, I foolishly declined. After having breakfast there, and experiencing the atmosphere, I realized my error and tried to get reservations for dinner. However, they book dinner well in advance. Next time I'll know better.

Yelp
Fabulous hosts, beautiful rooms, exquisite meals, and beautiful grounds and scenery ! What's not to like?

Yvette N.

Yelp
Quiet, charming, gorgeous views, amazing food, excellent service. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Heather S.

Yelp
We LOVED our stay here. It's tucked off the main road from all the shopping and hoopla. Very quiet. Very clean. Our room was cozy and the balcony looking over the back was just spectacular in the morning to watch the fog roll over the Smokey mountains. We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
This resort is home away from home, come here for a true Tennessee experience. The cabin/hotel décor, the friendly, accommodating staff, the scenery, the locale - EVERYTHING - is a perfect peek into what it's like to live in Tennessee. My husband and I visited for a 2 day baby moon, and couldn't have been more comfortable, nor been more pleased with our choice. For starters, the staff does little things which add a bit of home comfort such as covering a sip hole in a to-go cup of soup to keep warm and prevent spilling. Or going out of the way to ensure that guests receive all accommodations (such as a souvenir mug) included in a resort package in case the guest is unaware or simply forgot. The resort scenery is beautiful providing excellent Smokey mountain views and lookout points. The resort grounds maintain multiple gardens which largely sport Tennessee's state flower, the iris, along with two ponds containing at least 5 swans - swans being a consistent theme throughout the resort. The price of resort packages and basic accommodation is surprisingly affordable, especially for the quality of service. The cabin in which we stayed (Wells House) was up-to-date, clean, well cared for, well maintained, and contained anything one may want to entertain a large family. If considering Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge as a destination, please consider Buckhorn Inn as a stay, and have at least one dinner at the hotel. The food - breakfast and dinner - is very tasty and everything is freshly made. Guests may even order a $10 brown bagged lunch, so one may schedule all meals thru the hotel kitchen if planning dinners out or cooking in a cabin isn't appealing. My husband and I scheduled many of our meals during our two day stay, and this wound up being an extremely convenient, stressless option. My husband and I have so many good things to say about Buckhorn Inn that it's difficult to list them all. We will absolutely be back here for whatever type of occasion: anniversary, family vacation, holiday weekend - whatever! If a quiet, beautiful, home away from home is what you're searching for, choose Buckhorn.

Yelp
We LOVE this Inn and are returning for I believe the 4th time this spring. The accommodations are terrific, and the food is unbelievable in style and value and taste and is just fabulous I love that you can see on the website what is being served before you arrive. The breakfasts also are a dream come true. We have tried other inns, and none compare, and we will just keep coming back to Buckhorn

Yelp
This was our second stay at Buckhorn Inn and it didn't disappoint. Wonderful staff and the rooms and common areas are spotless. Wonderful breakfast with great view of the mountains. I highly recommend the Buckhorn Inn.

Yelp
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Buckhorn Inn for 3 nights this past week and had a great stay there. Our room, the Red Room #4, was very nice, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. If you want a nice view, choose another room. We didn't really care, since we were headed to the Smoky Mountains anyway. It was a decent size room though. Breakfast is included with your stay and I would highly recommend enjoying that perk since they serve a awesome breakfast. Also, the staff are great. Very friendly, courteous and helpful. One example is Wayne, one of staff members there. We had a bottle of wine that needed opening and asked Wayne if he could get us a cork screw. He said he would be happy to open it. We thanked him and off he went. He came back a couple minutes later with two wine glasses and the wine uncorked and chilling in a bucket of ice! Now that's customer service! So if you want a place to stay with great service, comfortable beds, and great food, Buckhorn Inn is a nice choice.

Ralph B.

Yelp
Fantastic getaway to the mountain. My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Buckhorn and it did not disappoint. Comfortable, clean accommodations coupled with friendly staff and a beautiful grounds. Highly recommend if you are searching for a top-notch B&B.

Len B.

Yelp
I've been fortunate to travel all over the world and experience many different things. This place ranks in my top 10 stay experiences of all time. One comes here to get away from everyone and everything. Forget about TV, the Internet or other technological conveniences. You can get these things here, but then you are missing the point. This place is about getting away. We rent a cottage when we visit. The accommodations are quaint and the atmosphere relaxing. They also have traditional hotel rooms in the main building. You can even rent houses which are located nearby. Breakfast and dinner are set menus. The food ranges from very good to excellent. If you are a guest there is no corking fee if you want to bring your own wine - unbelievable. Lunch is on your own unless you call ahead to order their box lunch. I've eaten over a dozen meals here and would not rate a single one below a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5. If you want something unique and positively memorable, make it a point to check this place out.

Terry S.

Yelp
If you are looking for fancy contemporary lodging, move along. The Buckhorn offers quietly elegant rooms, cabins, and 3 houses that are comfortable in the very best of ways! We chose Cabin #3 and had the additional treat of a screened porch, a patio, a gorgeous view, and a jacuzzi tub. Couldn't have been happier with our choice! Our package came with 2 dinners and 3 breakfasts included - perfectly cooked 4 course dinners served by a very friendly wait staff. You can dine at the Inn even if you are not a guest, and I highly recommend doing so. The Buckhorn is on the Arts and Craft loop, set well back from the road, offering a peaceful oasis to the hubbub of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but easy access to both, as well as GSNP. 75 years old and still amazing. Come, relax, and enjoy.

Kayla A.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal here paid for by friends who love this place and stay here on visits. I can only speak for one dinner we had during Spring Break in March. We had just hiked Abrams Falls earlier in the day so it was a treat! Reservations are a must for dinner and the evening's menu could be found on their website. I believe it's $40/meal plus gratuities. If I remember right we ate salad, a lentil or bean soup (didn't sound appealing on the site but it was delicious!), bread, bacon wrapped pork, mashed potatoes, green beans and mud pie (which ended up being the most delicious ice cream version of it) served with coffee. Do get the Buckhorn tea! I'm not a tea person but I think there's tea, OJ, lemonade, cloves and cinnamon (?) in it and it is SO good. Also others around us enjoyed various wines, which was an additional charge to the meal. We walked half of the 1 mile trail before dinner upon arriving early and saw two beautiful swans swimming around the pond. It is really a nice place enough away from the strip of stores and attractions that it feels cozy. Plus you can still see the mountains out the windows.

Nikki A.

Yelp
Our first visit to the smokey mountains and the buckhorn inn was incredible! The staff was kind, the cottages were cozy and the food was unreal! So amazing! Would recommend to anyone. What a treat!

Sophia S.

Yelp
The most romantic, off the beaten tourist path place you will ever experience. I wish I could give a billion stars. I will never forget this place and plan to visit as often as possible.

Don J.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places: accommodations are upscale comfortable, service is always top notch, food is fantastic - make sure you stay for dinner, you won't be disappointed! And the surroundings will cause you to take multitudes of pictures! A fantastic place for a relaxing couple of days or a romantic get away (or both!). John and Lee are wonderful innkeepers in the truest and best sense of the word! My wife and I have come here regularly for 8 years and recommend this B&B wholeheartedly!

Neanna M.

Yelp
If you believe in fair and decent treatment of customers, do not book at this hotel. We, along with another couple, had reservations to stay here last April. Two days before we were to travel, my husband suffered a serious accident and could not travel -- doctor's orders from the hospital. We notified the hotel the very next business day. Instead of refunding our deposit of $280, the hotel immediately charged our card an additional $667 for the nights we had not yet stayed!! When we phoned, we were told that the hotel had a 12-day cancellation period, and we were giving them only 7 days notice. However, they told us that they would give us a rain check for any future stay. My husband has now recovered from his injuries so we recently contacted the hotel to reserve for October dates. My husband had to make numerous attempts to speak with the manger concerning the promised rain check; the hotel is now refusing to honor their promised credit for the $519 they have charged our credit card using the lame excuse that "rain checks are not valid for October, weekends or holidays." What kind of a rain check is that???!! Because of my husband's accident, we had to cancel with a number of hotels. Most of the businesses were very sorry and could not have been more cooperative or nicer with their refunds. In stark contrast, we have found the Buckhorn's management surprisingly nasty, unkind and unfair. What I have described above is only PART of our negative experience with this hotel; there is much more to this story, but I do not want to make this review even longer.

Lynn C.

Yelp
Amazing B&B! Staff was amazing. The food incredible. Attention to every detail. Property was beautiful. Enjoyed hike to meet swans Bubbles and Squeak. Close to everything but away from crowds. Lots of outdoor spaces to relax.

T A.

Yelp
Have stayed here a couple of times in last few years I care about good food and this is the only good food I have found in this area. Breakfasts are wonderful Evening meals vary each night and are served at seven. No menu choices so if you are particular you would need to check in advance to see what is served

D S.

Yelp
When you first come out of the awe inspiring Smokey Mountians and into downtown Gatlinburg you start asking yourself: 1. How does a Ripley's Believe It or Not musuem go along with the mountain theme? 2. How many fudge shops can one town support, and.. 3. What was the mullet count again, I just lost track. But once you get through the bustling, vegas wanna-be, downtown metropolis that is Gatlinburg, and arrive at the Buckhorn inn, you'll forget you asked yourself those questions. This place is truely what a Bed and Breakfast should be. Small, quiet, quaint, nicely maintained, and very worth the trek from atlanta. I've been here twice already and have not been disappointed yet (nor do I think I ever will be). From the friendly staff, to the incredible breakfast and dinners (included in your room rate), it was shangri-la mountian style. On our second stay, we stayed in a room called "The Tower". That is exactly what it was. An odd three level tower, detached from the entire inn. The desk clerk said people either love it or hate it, there is no in-between. We loved it. The Bedroom is at the top and the windows wrap around all four sides. The bathroom is on the middle level and the bottom level has a sitting/mud room. Very cool! If I had hair I would have throw it out the window repunzle style just to stay with the theme (I suggested that to my wife, but she would have none of it). I think that room was about $119/night (rate included Bkfst and Dinner). They also have multi-room cottages you can rent, not sure how those are. It's located on the beginning of what is know as the Artisian community loop. a couple miles of independant arts/crafts studios and restauarants. While some of the art screams "Holy Flea-market" the majority is very nice. Quite frankly you can skip the Gatlinburg scene and spend a day or two checking out the studios. There's a pretty cool blown glass studio right next to the Buckhorn which my wife and I love! We cannot wait to get back there in the fall to check out the leaves and to have the Pumpkin spice pancakes again (I still dream about those).

Ellen L.

Yelp
Amazing location with great views of the mountains; however, it is only a short drive to Gatlinburg! The food was amazing! Dinner at least one night is a must. The rooms are adorable and have an "at home" comforting feel about them. The Inn itself has so much character and the inn keeper and owners were extremely nice. Every one there does their best to accommodate you and your needs. The grounds were also very beautiful. I hope to go back one day. Our stay was everything I hoped for and more. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at the Buckhorn Inn.

Melissa B.

Yelp
I planned a getaway to Gatlinburg so my husband and I could have "one last hurrah" before our baby arrives sometime around Christmas. I thought a bed and breakfast would be a nice, romantic departure from the usual hotel stay. On a random Google search for "bed and breakfast Gatlinburg," the Buckhorn Inn popped up. I visited the website and checked out some reviews and decided to reserve a room. There was only one room left for the weekend, nay, the MONTH, for which I'd planned! I snapped it up in a hurry, and I couldn't have possibly made a better decision. We arrived on Friday night after an absolutely insane work week and a 4-hour drive from Nashville. Exhausted, we passed out. Husband went for an early run on one of the beautiful trails just outside the Inn on Saturday while I awoke leisurely. Breakfast entrée was.. wait for it.. bananas foster french toast. I swear I drooled on my shirt just waiting to be served. The owners came by to welcome us briefly; they knew our names and the female innkeeper, Lee, hugged me and mentioned my pregnancy in conversation. They really know who is staying with them and want you to have a wonderful experience - such wonderful, yet unobtrusive, hospitality. We ate our fill (and more), and then headed out to do some touristy-type activities. They keep a journal in each room so you can write your own memories or observations; ours dated back to 1989! What a wonderful way to keep positive and cherished memories in the room. I only wish we could have stayed longer; we didn't have dinner here, which I hear is amazing. And the price is very reasonable, especially considering the amazing home-cooked breakfast that is included with your rate. A note: a previous reviewer mentioned that dinner is included in your rate, which may have been true at the time he wrote his review, but is not correct now. We didn't make it in time on Friday night for dinner but I will definitely make reservations next time! WHEN we come back to Gatlinburg, I will have the Buckhorn Inn at the top of my list for lodging options. Just remarkable.

D S.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Gatlinburg that offers a great place to stay at a reasonable price, nice people, a view of Mt Leconte and great food if you choose to eat there. We've been there over a dozen times and will continue to go back.

Dave B.

Yelp
My wife found this place for our wedding anniversary and I could have been happier. We arrived early and seat on the back porch with a glass of wine. What a view what a view. For dinner we had white bean soup, salad, prime rib, and Coconut pie. The food was great and the wait staff was there for your every need. We were not staying there but hope to on our next visit to the area. The B and B looked freshly painted and well maintained.

Jones B.

Yelp
Great old cabin feel, if it's cold outside they keep a fire going. The food is fresh and the menu is typically a set but only because it's a small location. It's a reservations only spot so call ahead.

Amro E.

Yelp
So it was beyond our expectations, simply everything is just perfect, the reception was great, the cottage was clean and super romantic also the fooooood oh u should reserve the dinner and enjoy the taste and the sweet view while enjoying their food and wine

Toni H.

Yelp
Making reservations was easy. When we had to change the dates it was a simple transaction. We stayed in Cottage 3. Cottages 3&4 are the only attached cottages but I'm pretty sure are the only ones with open back porches facing the mountains as well as a screened in porch. We had breakfast delivered to our cottage every morning which was lovely. We would lay in bed, call and see what's for breakfast and they delivered it to our door. The cottage seemed small at first, but we had just stayed at the Ritz. The place isn't as big as the pictures had me believe, but after a while we got used to it. The mountain views make the place feel cozy and lovely. We loved the fireplace which I made sure was constantly on. I thought the bed was fine, husband thought it was meh. We had dinner at the inn one night. A four course meal for $35 a person. I wore a dress and my husband wore a long sleeve shirt and a baseball cap. Because it was our honeymoon and I wanted him to be comfortable. He asked me what he should wear and I told him he looked great. When we walked in an old man said "hats off" to my husband. I was frustrated by his comment and the whole place kind of had that judgmental feeling about it. Also I'm not sure why this man is concerned with us. Dinner just had a pretentious air throughout the dining room. The meal was good. Nothing to die for though. The next night we decided to pick up dinner from the inn (the four course$35/pp) and then we just brought it back to our cottage and ate. We enjoyed it much better. We ate crab stuffed cod, cream of Vidalia soup, salad, and strawberry mascarpone tart out of styrofoam. It was wonderful.

Senta R.

Yelp
We had dinner here tonight and it was amazing. The atmosphere was so warm and perfect for the holidays! We were a large party and they put us in our room, they were so efficient and accommodating. The food was also delicious - I highly recommend it!

Stephanie S.

Yelp
The fact that I am leaving anything but a stellar review for Buckhorn Inn is probably more disappointing for me than it will be for them. This place is very near and dear to our heart and will always have more good memories than anything else. We have been there 3-4 times , starting with an amazing mini honeymoon almost 14 years ago. Since then we have been back for wonderful anniversaries in addition to buying gift cards for my parents and my husband's parents because we love it that much. All that being said.... this visit was different. My parents, knowing how much we love Buckhorn, gave us a gift certificate last Christmas. We had planned on visiting last April but had to reschedule due to Covid. Fast forward to Oct. 11, 2020, a date that had been marked on our calendar in anticipation and excitement about returning to one of our favorite places. Things seemed different upon arrival. When we walked in to check in, there was very little greeting. They asked to see our gift certificate and then basically shoved a key to our room at us. The other lady that was there turned her back to us and never even acknowledged that we were there. This was polar opposite to how we have been greeted in the past. We did not let this effect our excitement about our time at Buckhorn. The room was perfect, as usual, and we could not have asked for anything better. The view was gorgeous and the Inn was everything we remembered. Day 1- Breakfast- There was a noticeable difference in how we were treated in the past. The service was lacking which is way out of the ordinary for Buckhorn. No water was offered, coffee pots passed us multiple times with not offers of refills. It was just totally different. Our room was fine, but we had a grand total of 2 towels and we were not checked on one time to see how our stay was. Day 2- Another amazing breakfast and a very sweet server who was overheard saying that it did not feel like she ever left from the day before. Interesting. We were unsure about tips for breakfast at Buckhorn (and all B&Bs) so we looked around both mornings to make sure people were not tipping. We did not want our servers to think that we did not appreciate them. No one left anything that we could see but made sure our appreciation was known even though it lacked in comparison to the past. All that being said, as we left, we were glad to have a rare weekend away. This is where things got the most interesting. My husband turned in the key and after no response from the lady at the front desk, asked if there was anything else we needed to do. Her response: "Your gift card did not cover gratuity." He and I were both embarrassed. Gratuity for breakfast? Okay, so he handed her $20. We did not eat dinner there and no one visited our room at any point. It left us feeling disappointed and embarrassed. All that being said, we have loved our times at Buckhorn but probably will not be back.

Yelp
beautiful old Inn with a stallar view of the mountains on the back porch. We managed to get in for dinner which is tough as they only have 35 tables and most are for guests of the Inn. its is a 35 dollar fixe prix dinner. we had flounder which was very nice along with soup, salad and dessert. highly recommended. even if only for the view. Gary the server is very helpful.

Yelp
Beautiful place, horrible food. We had been wanting to try this place for dinner for awhile and finally got a chance last night. Based on the review we were expecting an excellent meal, but sadly we were both very disappointed. The lodge is beautiful, looks like a really great place to stay, the food however, was horrible! The soup had no taste, the salad had a dressing of just olive oil with no seasoning, and the main course couldn't even be eaten. The pork chop was cooked to a point it couldn't even be cut with a knife, atop the pork chop was a cold mixture of what looked liked canned apples. The vegetables were obviously frozen and cooked too long. For dessert they brought us banana cake with caramel sauce. The cake was so dry the caramel couldn't even save it. It was also disheartening that even though we sent back full plates of food, the waitress didn't even ask if something was wrong. I am hoping this was just a bad night for this place because we wanted to like it, but just could not.

Yelp
Warning! Room was much more "worn and tired" than the pictures. VERY low ceilings. Very claustrophobic. Interenet is so slow you cant use it. Our room was up some TINY staircase that only one person can go up or down at a time. Will never go back and will try and let others know the real side of this place. Very old and outdated in all ways!!!!! Look elsewhere NOW!!

Yelp
Where do I start? Over the past few years we have stayed at several B&Bs. This one takes the cake! I fell upon it by accident when driving from Asheville, NC back home to Chicago. I used my trusty bedandbreakfast.com and upon opening the website I got a good feeling from it. Normally I do not choose B&Bs that call themselves "Inn" b/c I do not want a small hotel, I want a B&B. This is as good as a B&B can get. They have such a great selection of rooms, small cottages and entire homes for rent. Even the homes can be rented nightly. The prices are reasonable and include the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. Did I mention that the Inn keepers are browsing the dining room saying hello during breakfast? They are not at all invasive, just a quick hello to make sure everything is to your liking. They address you by Mrs. or Mr. (enter your last name here) and it is so charming that their manners are so polished. The views here are wonderful too. Unlike any I have experienced at a hotel (well maybe the view at the Four Seasons in Hawaii was just as good). The only complaint we had is that we could only stay one night b/c this was the last leg of our trip. I wish so bad that I would have completely skipped the Inn at the Biltmore (which was twice the price of the Buckhorn Inn!) in Asheville, NC and traveled to the smokey mountains in Gatlinburg, TN sooner. I love staying at places where wonderful, friendly service is a given. This place gets it!! I am already planning a trip back hopefully over labor day and I live 10 hours away!! Tons to do in the area too. Beautiful place--God's Country as my mom would call it....Lastly, this is my first time placing a review on Yelp. This place is that good that I want others to know. My boyfriend suggested that I don't do the review b/c he doesn't want The Buckhorn Inn to get too crowded. He loved it equally as much as I did! Nicely done Buckhorn Inn!

Yelp
I had eaten at the Buckhorn just once prior to last night; my parents love the Buckhorn and eat here at least once every visit they make to the Smokies (and often more). I contacted the Buckhorn in May to see if we could make some arrangements for a family dinner to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and the Buckhorn was wonderful about making the arrangements. We had a private dining room, and our server was so attentive. The kitchen was very conscientious about my food allergies. When the grandsons wanted more bread, more was sent out immediately. The table was decorated with fun confetti and little place cards wishing my parents a happy anniversary. The food was fantastic, and my ten-year-old declared the five-onion soup to be his all-time favorite, replacing baked ziti as his #1 favorite dish. The Smoky Mountain Trout was fantastic, too. Dining at the Buckhorn Inn is a wonderful experience!
