Walked into this place not knowing about the hype. Seemed really nice and I was intrigued by the coquito latte. Regardless of the hype I think this coffee was tasty. Never had a latte like that before. The reviews that say the coffee is bad are really extreme. It may not be the best coffee some people have ever had but it's not too the levels others are saying. Just judge for yourself. It's small inside so you might need to wait a bit. There are a few tables outside on the curb.

Support local business! If you’re in Williamsburg and want actually decent coffee, add this spot to your list. Coquito latte is absolutely worth the wait! Super quick service and lovely staff. They also roast and sell their own beans! Can’t wait to try both the daily blend and espresso 😍☕️ Also, for fun: check out the sculpture by John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres installed near their entrance. 😊 We love you Buddies!!!

If you are looking for the best coffee, tea, sweet treats in the best neighborhood in NYC, Williamsburg Brooklyn, look no further than Buddies Coffee. I love their coffee here and their speciality drinks like the coquito latte and matcha Thai tea lattes. They offer alternative milks like oat milk too. It’s good to venture over to Grand street because after your drink you can browse all the vintage stores in the neighborhood for unique gifts for yourself or others. Don’t regret not picking up a bag of coffee beans that are roasted by Rachel the owner herself!! 🫶🫶 I hope they expand to more locations because they will be successful in wherever they go! There’s normally long lines on the weekends so go early and patiently wait. ♥️♥️

Google
The hype is real and all of the TikTok fame the shop is getting is absolutely deserved! Rachel, the owner, is one of the most genuine and authentic business owners I’ve ever interacted with. There is heart in everything from the coffee to the floorboards to the front door. The drip coffee rivals the best that you can find in NYC and it’s only made better to know that the person running the shop is also the person who roasted the beans. Plus, the classic and iconic NYC cups are just the icing on the cake for me. I got a 2lb bag of beans and cannot wait to make this a dedicated part of my morning routine. Opening the bag, the aroma of the beans is unlike any other bean I’ve ever smelled!! Stay in line, the wait is more than worth it!

“The coffee here is very tasty! The shop is small, but they have chairs and tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your drink.”

Google
Buddies Coffee is the best there is — found myself always going back throughout the week & always on weekends while running errands. Welcoming people the minute you walk in, coquito matcha (LIFE CHANGING), & the appreciation of Latin culture 🤍💃🏽

Google
Wow! COME TO THIS PLACE! The coquito matcha changed my life. Every sip transported me back to being with my family and friends during Christmas time in Puerto Rico. Highly recommend checking this place out and trying that coquito latte/matcha!!!

Google
Adorable little coffee shop. The owners are incredibly friendly and the interior is small but stylish. Not much spacing inside. Only a couple small tables with chairs. The order line moves quickly and the coffee is delicious. I tried the hot coquito and it was very good. Very much recommended as a coffee visit. :)

Yelp
The vibe here is immaculate. Super friendly service with the coffee is great too. Got a hot almond milk latte and was not disappointed. If I'm in the area again I'll def stop by and try their coquito latte.

Yelp
Popped in here since I've had it bookmarked for a little while and it's very warm and inviting. It's run by a very sweet couple and the vibes are immaculate, with great music and Puerto Rican flags everywhere. It's a tiny shop with a small menu of coffee and tea drinks (they are known for their coquito lattes) and they also have incredible pastries. The service was excellent, and while there's not much room to sit--they only have one small table and a few chairs, it's a place you could definitely become a regular at. Would highly recommend checking them out if in the area. I know I'll be back very soon!

Yelp
I had a breakfast nearby and this place was highly rated in yelp. As I was walking toward the coffee shop, I saw a really long line. I almost turned away seeing the line, but I decided to stay. The line moved fairly quickly as it was just a tiny store and it could only hold one or two person in line inside. The gentleman at a cashier was super mellow, nice and helpful. He smiled and explained what coquito latte was. My gosh, it was one of the best latte I ever had. I dont know what type of beans they use but it is delicious!!!!! I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
This small but mighty coffee shop in Williamsburg is a place you must stop in to. I was in the area and I told myself to stop in especially because I like supporting small businesses and I saw this shop all over on tik tok and the news. It is a small Puerto rican coffee shop owned by a wonderful couple. They have Puerto Rican flags hanging in the store too. It is a very small shop but very inviting. They are known for their coquito lattes. I did not try it when I was here last I just had a regular latte which was pretty darn tasty! They do not have decaf coffees yet though. Since this is a very small shop there is really no room to sit inside so when I was there many people were enjoying their coffees outside. This is a place you must come try if in area.

Yelp
I came here after seeing the owner Rachels tiktok video crying about the struggles of gentrification. I am a fellow boricua and i had to come to support. It was a great to see there was a line and many people were excited to support a Puerto Rican owned coffee shop. I will definitely recommend the coquito iced lattes because they were so tasty and worth the money. The place is small but mighty and they have seats outside also. Please come to give this small coffee shop a try in the gentrified Williamsburg neighborhood. Keep a small business alive with this creativity of coquito! I have to come back to meet Rachel because only her boyfriend Taylor was there. Hes a coowner as well and super sweet!

Yelp
buddies is a cute and little coffee shop! The owners are very kind and came out to greet people in the line. The line was a bit long but just shows that everyone loves their coffee! I got their coquito latte which was delicious :)

Yelp
This place has some of the best matcha and hojicha. The coquito latte is better than other cafes' that i've tried and has a home made yet high quality product vibe. The staff is the sweetest and give great recommendations. Also given the small space the aestheic and efficiency of quick service is impressive. Def go check em outtt

Yelp
This place is everything I love about Brooklyn! Buddies is a non-pretentious coffee shop run by the sweetest couple. I went here specifically to try the coquito latte I heard about from a friend of mine. If you don't know, coquito is a cinnamony, coconutty, sweet milkshake like beverage enjoyed by Puerto Ricans during the holiday season. Knowing this business was Puerto Rican-owned, I thought the coquito latte was going to be a hit--and it was! I walked in on a Saturday morning and there was a bit of a line but it moved quickly and the barista was sweet and engaging with all of us. She thanked us for our patience and was very efficient. The space is small and it's probably best to grab-and-go but there is one small indoor table and a few outdoor tables if you prefer to sit and enjoy your coffee. There is also a pool/billards space in the back of the coffee shop (which I believe is separately owned). In addition to grabbing a coquito latte for my fiance and I, I couldn't resist grabbing a tahini chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was chewy and delicious and a great mix of sweet and salty flavors. It was also served in a paper french fry bag which I thought was cute and eco friendly. The barista informed me that they change the flavors of the baked goods every so often, and I look forward to indulging in some others in the future, along with some other coffee options!

Yelp
Ok, this is a business I want my money going to. Puerto Rican owned. Female owned. Small business. Best of all, phenomenal matcha latte and guava cheese quesitos!
google avatar

Yelp
Came in for a quick caffeine boost after lunch - the cafe is very small with a limited menu but just enough to make a decision and have a lovely drink! There's limited seating inside but a couple of tables outside right in front of the cafe. The iced Chai was perfectly balanced with spice and sweetness and the iced matcha wasn't sweetened but still very deep and fragrant. There's also a bathroom available inside, past the billiards room.

Yelp
Not the best coffee, the workers complaining about politics is crazy. I'm not a big fan of the excess sugar they use
google avatar

Valerie D.

Yelp
Definitely a grab and go spot, but the service was great and fast esp given the customer to barista ratio. I still barely waited. I am obsessed with their recommendation- the coquito latte.
google avatar

Yulissa C.

Yelp
Coffee spot is great! Small location with two tables inside and like seating for 5 but they also have outdoor seating for the warmer weather. Very simple coffee menu they have a specialty drink coquito latte I want to try next time but I went with a classic latte. It was delicious , strong flavorful coffee. The barista was nice too works fast and knows his regulars you can tell the way he knew what the guys in front of me and behind get so I love places like that because it shows they care for their customers. Really great options of pastries the little bear looks cute. Couldn't decide between their two savory pastries they had that day and the barista suggest this cheese one and it was really good!! Ate that in my drive back home I was shocked how delicious and flavorful and tasty it was 10/10 going to come back to try the other savory one. Overall great coffee great pastries cool chill vibe 10/10

Yelp
The owner of the shop was very nice & thoughtful. She kept checking up on the long line, love that. The coquito latte was DELICIOUS! Definitely worth the trip & will be going back.
google avatar

Martin D.

Yelp
The workers there seemed super nice! Several people came in that were clearly regulars and you see why, the place has good coffee and a family feel to it for whatever reason. My iced coquito latte had a sweet nuttiness to it that I really enjoyed as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Buddies is such a dope looking shop. The vibes are immaculate with lots of street-style decor. The hot latte I got was solid, would definitely come back. I appreciate the barista's 10/10 latte art that shows his dedication to the craft. The big downside is that it gets cramped if there's a line. There's very little room for standing, and only one table.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place, great coffee and amazing owners- so warm and welcoming. And the Coquito latte is a must
google avatar

Caroline D.

Yelp
This has easily become my new top coffee spot in the neighborhood. The drinks are amazing and they usually have specials. The coquito with oat milk literally changed my life. They usually have a small array of pastries too, but bevvies are definitely their main focus.
google avatar

Daniela A.

Yelp
Amazing location and amazing service. The owners are the sweetest people ever and go out of their way to connect with each of the customers I got the coquito latte and the matcha loaf and it was absolutely delicious. The location is a bit small but if you are into pool you can rent a pool table in the back and it makes for an amazing time to enjoy your coffee.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Great coffee - had a perfect espresso. The beans are roasted in house. Local bakery items are served. Will be back!
google avatar

June M.

Yelp
The place is aesthetically pleasing. However, the shop only has one table to sit. So if you looking for the coffee shop to sit down, study or chat. This place might not be the one for you. However, their coffee is good, on a pricey side tho. I got a matcha latte for $6, but it was the best matcha latte that I have tried in the Brooklyn area. The barista is friendly and his latte art is good. I love the little heart that he made.
google avatar

Yelp
The cutest tiny cafe run by a couple! They really pay attention to every detail! All of their coffee is roasted fresh weekly by Rachel! It's definitely my favorite spot! Their Coquito latte or cold brew is a MUST try.

Wendy A.

Yelp
It's a great place for coffee, food and conversation. The owner Rachel is very attentive, sweet and kind. Definitely recommend to all my friends and family.

Dominique A.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor & GO TO BUDDIES!! Big fan - it's not located near me but the hike is well worth it.

Yelp
hands down one of the best coffee shops of all time. the owner of this coffee shop is the sweetest most nicest human you will ever meet. she is an incredibly hard worker who makes a beautiful cup of Joe. This is better than any franchise coffee shop in town. a yrue hidden gem , beautiful ambiance, excellent staff and phenomenal coffee. always a must stop when im in town. DONT MISS OUT!
google avatar

Yelp
Coffee machine at work was broken so I stopped by on my way in this morning. Coffee was good, $4 for an Americano which is on par with Devoción down the street. Staff were great! Super friendly and chatty! I get why a lot of places have switched to digital points/visit trackers but I really love that they do a physical stamp card.

Yelp
Loved loved this spot that happened to be round the way in Williamsburg area. This sweet ambitious young lady amazed my group with her story of perseverance and resilience. Great smooth tasting coffee and pastry was worth coming back for. The coffee beans are roasted by the owner to perfection and I plan to get some shipped back home
google avatar

Yelp
Buddies has the the best coffee in Williamsburg and very likely all of NYC. Their cold brew in particular is the best I've had, using a special bean blend that they've carefully selected and roasted. They also do a cold brew coquito during the holidays that's absolutely insane.
google avatar

Howard C.

Yelp
When you're looking to start your day off right, you gotta go to Buddies. World-class hospitality meets the perfect coffee, its hard not to step out feeling like a better person with a Buddies cup in your hand. Whether its cold, rainy or a wintery-mix w/ a line down the sidewalk, the baristas will make sure you are treated right, like mi familia. They'll crack one-liners, talk about the nuances of coffee/pastries, tell you that you look good, and if you're lucky you might even become instafamous if you swing by when they're creating original digital content. Buddies understand its about more than just the coffee and I've never seen anyone leave without a huge grin on their face out of the bakers dozen times I've gone by. Its no wonder everyone's been talking about Buddies around Brooklyn.

Emely T.

Yelp
I tried Buddies Coffee at the H&M pop-up in Williamsburg. The vibes are a 10/10. Rachel, the owner, is so kind, attentive and an amazing conversationalist. My best friend and I tried the drip coffee, which kept us warm during our errands. The best part is that the coffee is roasted by Rachel herself! We also tried the vegan coquito that she uses for her coquito-flavored cold brew and it is HEAVENLY. Rachel, thank you for your stellar service. I'll be dropping in again!

Yelp
A must stop coffee shop. Owners understand coffee, roast it themselves and treated us exceptionally well. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area.

Yelp
Dope lil coffee spot, super awesome barista. Glad to know this place is here, will definitely be returning, for the coffee and the pool rooms!

Jihwan K.

Yelp
Great to find this place newly, so will return soon. Perfect coffee is absolutely right, also look forward to seeing their new roasting. Plus even my kids (who normally hate to give chance to their parents to enjoy coffee and place) loves this place!!

Claudia V.

Yelp
Great coffee, service, and ambiance! Highly recommend - this is my go to every morning!

Yelp
I ordered coffee and some merch online, and the checkout process was so easy. The coffee smelled so freah in my mail box that I had to have a cup that night. I also ordered a spork, it's cool AF I use it daily

Alanzo N.

Yelp
Great spot! Everyone here always puts a smile on my face. Highly recommend, also they roast their own beans.

Yelp
Cute local coffee shop with really sweet staff. Their lemon matcha banana bread is so good, and their coffee is very fresh. Get the sporks!
