Buddy’s makes chicken and waffles special—beyond breakfast - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation
"Chicken and waffles too often feels like an afterthought, tucked away on page three of a brunch menu, or worse, miniaturized to sit atop a gimmicky Bloody Mary. But Buddy’s Chicken And Waffles makes the dish a special event, and not just for the morning crowd. Inside the laid-back spot, you order at the counter, pick a table, and let the smell of waffle batter carry you through until your tray arrives. Then, say hello to thick Belgian waffles dripping with house-made syrups, sauces, and butters that make all the difference.
Everything can be ordered à la carte, so you don’t have to pair your waffles with chicken unless you really want to. And some of these waffles are so substantial and loaded with toppings that the chicken feels optional. But you’re already here—go all in for the full Buddy’s experience. And pay attention to the specials board to see what masterpiece waffles the restaurant dreams up.
Food Rundown
Cheddar Bay Biscuit Waffle With Spicy & Regular Chicken Tenders
Buddy’s turns Red Lobster’s best export into a waffle and tops it with a pool of garlicky butter that seeps into every bite. And while the spicy tenders breading is a little crumbly, the regular tenders pair nicely with the waffle.

Buttermilk Waffle
One of the simpler waffles, but just as good as the other flavors. It balances sweetness with a creamy buttermilk tang, and makes for a nice blank slate for fun syrups like strawberry, bourbon, or salted caramel.
PB & J Waffle
If you see this one on the specials board, order it. A salty-sweet peanut butter cream cheese glaze gets drizzled with strawberry jam, and then topped with a dusting of Nutter Butters for a crunchy finish. It’s basically dessert, but not too over-the-top.

Deluxe Chicken Sandwich With Seasoned Fries
If for some reason you’re not in a waffle mood, the fried chicken sandwich holds its own. And the crinkle cut fries come coated in so much herby cajun seasoning they’re practically red.
