Buddy's Place

It was a small kitchen so I didn't expect much from the food but all the food was great. The waitress was fantastic. Just make sure to go before karaoke starts if you want to get a table. Definitely the place locals go as everyone was hugging everyone else and having a good time

Food is good! Nice small town bar feel to it, Patio with the misters is nice on a warm day. Bartender is always on point! They have a pool table in the back, just a nice bar to unwind to after the days done.

I visited on July 5 around 12:30 PM, and unfortunately had a very uncomfortable experience. The woman working at the time was extremely rude to me. I had come in to pick up an order, and she immediately asked for my ID. I let her know I had left it in the car and that I was just picking up food. She responded by telling me I needed to leave and wait outside. I’ve been here multiple times and have never been asked for ID when simply picking up an order—especially when no alcohol is involved. I’m not sure why I was treated so differently this time, but the way she spoke to me felt unnecessary and disrespectful. I left feeling really disappointed. I hope the staff can be reminded to treat everyone with kindness and consistency.

Great food! Atmosphere is a likable local affair, we were not local and loved this place! Crystal/or Krystal was our awesome server! She read the room and was so appropriate to all the tables! Love that in her service! Highly recommend!

This is a must go to! Buddy’s is a staple here in Manson. The food is always on point and the atmosphere is something to be seen. All walks of life go here. I also love the music, outdoor patio.

Great for a burger and drink. However, this place does LOUD outdoor karaoke well past legal hours during nice weather. I'm a local resident and I've measured it at 80 dB and I'm 3 blocks away. I wish there was a way to get the noise level down so those that want to sleep at 1 AM can do so. My next-door neighbor said it bothers him as well, so he wears ear plugs during Buddy's karaoke nights.

No not busy, wasn't acknowledged after several minutes. I've been here before on vacation and it was great, but the person behind the bar didn't even look my way.

Karaoke girl was the worst ever. Bar is good, but she really ruined the experience for me. I'm definitely not happy.

Buddy's looks like a place in transition away from the Freedom menu to something new. The burgers were delicious but smaller than the old Buddy's. I love pub food and it will be interesting to see where this place goes

This is pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a dive type bar. It's dark, with pool table and a full bar. Myself and my friends had the philly and it was delicious. However, we were the first customers (we came in right after opening and all ordered the same dish) and the waiter brought out 2 phillys and 1 patty melt. When I told him that my order was incorrect he said they had run out of the peppers that usually go on the sandwich- even though the other 2 had just been served with them. People make mistakes but it was a bit aggravating. Overall I recommend trying the philly and if you like a dive bar, you'll probably enjoy this place. The server let us take home the mistake patty melt as well and it was good.

We called in an order and the staff member on the phone was unnecessarily rude, he seemed like he really didn't want us ordering. I work in food service and so do all of my friends, so we're well aware of how it is, but it was really disappointing and unnecessary. It seemed like a very "man" bar, so maybe they didn't like that a bunch of women were ordering, but it was still disappointing how rude he was. the food was pretty average dive-bar style food. wish the guy on the phone hadn't been so dismissive of us.

If you're looking for a fun bar with a great menu, then you have come to the right place. We have family in town and try to come in whenever we visit. Can't go wrong with any of the apps or burgers. This time my husband got the Philly sandwich with au jus on the side and he said it was amazing. Great service even when it's slammed.

Okay- hot, juicy cheeseburger and fries served with cold beer. Need I say more? Patrons friendly to 3 women just Looking for food. Kudos to server and cook!

It's exactly what you expect. It's a dive bar that needs a fair amount of renovation but maybe you're into that. The menu is okay. The drinks are not fancy. The food is satisfying but won't be the most amazing you've ever had, or even close to it. They have a TouchTunes jukebox. One note though, they gendered the bacon burger as a boy and the veggie burger as a girl and the chicken burger as a communist and the french fries and French dip were freedom fries and freedom dip. Maybe that's a plus for you. For me and mine, not so much.

A local gem!!! This came highly recommended to us while visiting Chelan. We visited during Stay Home phase 1.5. The restaurant offered limited patio seating and takeout, no seating inside. Wait staff all wore masks. Shout out to Jason - he was awesome! The menu has lots of bar food options. We ordered a Freedom Dip and Paddy Melt (we are predictable). The Freedom Dip gives options to add onions & cheese - I did both! You can also choose between fries or salad with your sandwich (maybe other options..?? - I forget). The Freedom Dip came out steamy hot, full of onions and dripping with cheese. It was soo good. Mouth watering!! I couldn't eat it fast enough. Mine came with a side salad, with fresh romaine, olives, cheese, and green peppers. The salad was a large portion, for a side. Hubs got a Paddy Melt. It has toasted Texas Toast and came with a huge portion of fries. He's a Paddy Melt connoisseur and he loved it!! The patio has misters and umbrellas. They will keep you cooler in the Chelan heat!

OmG! The service was incredible we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. It was really busy but we found a table for us in front which was great people watching. We had a incredible server I think her name was Sophie? We ordered a lot of food and appetizers. I ordered the Paddy Melt and it was incredible as well as the fries and the seasoning. My friends ordered the steak salad and they really enjoyed them. We ordered condiments ( extra) and she brought a huge tray it was great. The tartar sauce was incredible.. Can't wait to go back we boated in left our boat at the deck and then went home .. What a great day awesome food and drinks !

still a dive bar with the improvements. food is extremely marginal. got food on mlk day. could have greased a car with the smashed greasy fries. come on. change the oil. had to wash face when we left. airborne oil. just not a good experience. service was very lame. like it was a pain to serve a customer. never again!!!

Had a strange experience. First time visiting my roommate that lives in chelan and i order takeout. i come in and talk to this caucasian gentleman with ginger hair who brought my order to me. He told me it was $14.50 and then I handed him a $20. He gives a 5 dollar bill back and .50 cents. I leave the .50 cents on the table and he says "oh thanks... .50 cents". I was a bit confused and then he proceeded to say "I'm gonna give you some advice, if you're ordering food pickup, tip more than .50 cents". I told him there's no service provided since i'm picking up my food. If it was being delivered and I gave .50 cents tip then I would understand the frustration. He proceeded to tell me that the tip would be for the people that made the food but I believe put the prices you believe are fair that you can make profit & pay your workers a livable wage. It's not up to me to pay your workers but the reason it's getting 3 stars is cause the food was good. Def would recommend the patty melt but that staff member definitely needs help with his communication skills.

Straight scoop.... Local dive bar with great food, good drinks, great vibe, pool table, karaoke, WiFi juke box, and great service. This is our "Go To" place when we're in town, and enjoy the atmosphere, local banter, and overall attitude. Don't judge as you go down both socially and physically (yes, the floor doors) just ENJOY the best of Manson.

Legit and awesome "Dive Bar"! You have to be willing to appreciate a good dive bar to love this place. We sure do! The place sees a lot of their local regulars on a daily basis. And who wouldn't want to become a regular here??? The food is excellent (fries are the absolute best) and the beer on tap is cold. The burgers and steak salad are super good too. They make a mean Bloody Mary too (I think their bloody mary came in 2nd place in the 2019 yearly contest held during Winterfest). The floor might be a little uneven, the carpet and decor out dated but they have an updated Jukebox that you can order up songs from an app on your phone! How cool is that? And yes, it costs per song. I can't think of the app, but my friends use it all the time. They offer a trivia night, karaoke, live music and more depending on the season or day of the week. It's also one of the only bars open late (until I think 1am) in the Chelan area during the on and off season. Give them a call to verify. Don't quote me on any of this . You can find them on Instagram. They will post pictures of their soup and or other specials too. Outdoor seating is available. Tabletop shuffle board, pool table, and maybe darts (if my memory serves me right). No minors allowed. If you are looking for a family friendly bar hit up Sunset Bar and Grill across the street. They are really good too. If you're from out of town and looking for a good dive bar, give this place a try. I don't think you'll regret it. I know we never have.

If you're looking for some all-American comfort food that's maybe not nice to your waistline, but good for your soul and top it off with a nice drink...maybe some karaoke...This is the spot to go in downtown Manson. Everyone is so down-to-earth and friendly and it really feels like taking a nice break. I also think it's the best place to go out for after hours night life fun with your friends in the Chelan area.

Great vibe for a Friday night. They have a karaoke night each Friday that goes up till late. It's pretty much the only place alive in Manson. But food was very disappointing. Except for onion fries, didn't really enjoy anything. We ordered beyond burger and grilled cheese sandwich and they were just a waste of $. Portions were large and two of us can share a plate.

If you are not a local or repeat customer they do not care about you. I was waiting for my drink with my buddy and the bartender did not acknowledge did not consider serving me until the locals were served first, even though they got there 10 minutes after me and then the bar tender Jason told us that the locals get special treatment and gave us our beer with a mad tone in his voice for complaining that locals cut us in line. He said not to upset the locals or they would "kick our teeth in".

I wish I could put 5. The food was amazing and the chef was amazing and super helpful! The female bartender was to busy to answer questions or pay attention to a single female at her Bar. It's just disappointing when women ignore other women for one reason or another. sad

Went here on two occasions. Big complain on wait staff not wearing face coverings. Two ladies working the bar and serving , one 100% wearing a good mask, second one decided it wasnt important and didnt bother half way through. On previous day in their outside serving area the younger bald waiter didnt even try masking up and was the best buddy at all the tables up close amd personal... How do they expect their customers should follow the rules if the staff don't. Btw you'll get a better tip if you respect your customers. The manager needs to have a talk with their staff.

We have been to Buddy's at the start of the Summer and had very good service. Went again last night (a Tuesday) there was 1 bartender and 1 cook. You have to now stand in a line to place your drink and food order and the bartender makes drinks so everyone has to stand and wait. Then wait in line again to pay bill. The place was packed inside and out, way to busy for 2 people to handle. Bartender was running out of clean glasses and no one to bus tables. I know help is hard to find BUT! We were so disappointed!

This is what you might expect. Stale beer smell and the din of serious midday drinking. People are nice and their burger is pretty tasty given the environ. If you love bars and sports it's a good destination to hit. I am not an unfan, and I would hit with the right set of friends for a pour, but not am I diehard fan would other visit it once for the experience.

Four of us came in and sat down. 15 min later we left. In that time the waiter brought food to the other table on the deck, came back to bring them a couple of other things and didn't even acknowledge us. We went up the street and even though they were busy we had excellent service. We happily spent over $100 there.

Delicious food, great service. Love the paddy melt, taco salad and OMG the burgers and fries! Definitely a local gem. Support local business!

Again 10 star service and food!-love Buddys place! Great burgers with a bucket full of condiments. Each employee truly cares that you are satisfied. The owners are dog/wolf loving people. Cold beers, great food, nothing else compares!

Lived in Chelan for years, heard great things about buddy's food, but I always thought people were exaggerating, or that it was just good for tavern food. To my surprise their menu legit. 3 of us had the freedom dip aka french dip which was the best I have ever had, not joking. I think they cook the beef in the ajus and then sear it on the grill, the sauce is so flavorful, I chose to have the optional cheese and grilled onions.. it was amazing. The rest of our group that had the freedom dip were repeat customers who have been eating at buddy's for years. The other person in our party had the bj burger which had a thin slice of ham on it, the burger was juicy and tender and it was perfectly seasoned and their secret sauce was amazing. The fries were home made, delicious, and piled super high. Buddy's is a tavern atmosphere but a very welcoming restaurant setting as well. And there is a large outdoor area that is absolutely lovely. The menu has uniqueness that made us think this place should be on the tv show man vs food So far the general consensus of buddy's from everyone in our group was, best burger and french dip we've ever had.

Ouch! This has been our long-time, go-to place for years. Took guests on Sunday Night (4/3/22) after talking it up so highly--and everything was a bust! Looks like "Buddy has left the building." Waitress was only interested in talking to gal pals at the bar. Had to go up and ask for napkins and forks. Used to be an abundance of food in each order. Didn't even have enough fries to take home for hashbrowns the next morning.

Ehhh, ok. Bud Light was $3.25 which is an ok price (not for piss beer, but for piss beer in a bar!) I'm sure this place is poppin on a weekend because we went on a Tuesday night and there was a decent amount of people there. I liked the back patio. It's a good place to be on a Chelan summer night... Probably high 70 degrees! Perfect! The one and only bartender was good, quick with the service. I don't have a whole lot to say about Buddy's because I wasn't overly impressed. It was good, not great. I feel like a jerk giving a 3 but I just wasn't blown away so it is what it is. About a C+.

Who loves a dive bar? ME! Amazing and Super friendly service (which you'd probably second guess) and great food. if you love deep fried food and packed with gluten and msg, this is your place. the array of sauces are a big benefit and nice addition. go grab some coconut shrimp and deep fried macaroni and cheese balls... oh wait, mini corn dogs and PBR... soooo good.

Great place to meet up with friends. Food is amazing pub style food! Crystal, the bar tender was very personable and fun to visit with. Definitely be going back next time we're in Manson. Fun, comfortable, clean and lively!

Buddy's WAS known for their fantastic burger and fries.....new owners take note...the fries are still great...the burger patty is tasteless and so small it disappears and disappoints....I'll bet the burger patty weighs perhaps 2 ounces at best. Find a better quality beef patty, not some over processed small hockey puck!! Absolutely horrible!!!

I came to Buddy's this evening with some trepidation after reading the reviews from people who have been here since the change of ownership. Everything was fucking delicious and the service was impeccable. Do not hesitate, come here and eat and drink to your goddamn hearts content!

Good little bar for the locals and travelers looking for a drink. When I went on a Friday afternoon the drinks were dirt cheep, which was nice. I would definitely come back to have a drink. It's the cheapest beer in the valley. They also have pool tables and shuffle board. I recommend this hole in the wall.

Ordered some takeout food and it was pretty good. It's dive bar food but it was hot, fresh, and tasty.

First time here from outta town(Lynnwood), felt right at home the minute me and my wife walked in. Quick service.....Bloody Mary was Perfect, very tasty with just enough veggies.....and the food....WOW! Had the "freedom dip" (French dip with melted cheese and grilled onions) and the BJ Burger. One tip, unless your "REALLY" hungry....SPLIT a order of fries...think they were hand cut homemade and over a pound! I tried to eat em all, but no joy...lol! Will drive from our Condo in Chelan to eat and drink here again!

Fun place to hang, can get pretty rowdy depending on what wedding or other group is in town at the time , has a great outdoor area as well. Super nice bartenders!

Used to like coming here for a burger. Not now. Terrible service and overcooked fries in old frying oil. Spent the afternoon in the bathroom. Just say NO!

It was a Husky game night so we decided on this bar to watch the game and get a bite to eat for dinner. It is your typical good bar in any town..... lots of locals, but very friendly to tourists alike. They had plenty of TV's for watching the game. Good service, I came in alone because the Mr. was walking the dog, and I went ahead and came on ahead in and grabbed us a table. In that short amount of time, all three of the wait staff stopped by the table to see if they could get me something - really attentive service. The menu was somewhat pricey for bar food.... lacking your typical cheaper bar food appetizers. However everything in this tourist area is a bit higher priced so it is the norm here. We were not hungry enough for 2 big burgers, so we decided to share one of the build your own grilled sandwiches. It was $11.50 and you could pick your bread, meat, cheese, and load it up with onions, tomato, lettuce etc. It was really good! The stack of bar fries on the side was huge and home-style cut. It was actually a great deal for the price as we both were full when we finished. Overall this was a nice bar and we would stop again if we visit on a game day.

Definitely a dive. TVs everywhere, pool table, bar stocked with a broad variety of Vodka. Flies are welcome and present guests. Food was recommended to us by locals. It's always great to be welcomed by "freedom" fries on the menu. Do these people freedom kiss, too? To get to my green salad I had to dig through an 1/4" of shredded, plastic cheese. Always my favorite. The burger was fine but it took them 45 minutes to make it. Really!? I can have a locally raised, organic chicken baked with who knows what goodness in that time. This type of a wait also makes for a great conversation with a starving wife. :) Apparently they had a big to-go order to fill which they told us after the fact. Thanks- we had noting better to do anyways. Not doing it again.

Delicious and friendly :). Thanks for welcoming us so warmly :). The grilled ham and cheese and grilled cheese with fries were delicious!!! I also loved my sex on the beach drink and Doug said the coffee was good too. The prices felt much lower than the sunset cafe...while both are nice little places in Manson, Buddy's gets an extra star from me. Wish there was a place like this that we could bring our kids too :)

It's a bar. Service was slow. Food is bar food, but nothing special. Ordered was French dip with cheese and onions - it was good. Hamburger looked good too. Very loud and not a place for me.

We landed in Buddy's in Manson for lunch. Glad we did the service was great and the food was also. Big helpings might want to share unless you are a big eater. Would drive out of our way to return. Place fills up with locals at meal time. Another indication it's a good place

Buddy's is a fun place in town and as a resident of Manson, it's a fun place to people watch in the summer when there are drunk vacationers around. They have shuffleboard which is one of my favorite games to play while drinking. The outdoor seating is also nice in the summer. The beer selection is strong and the food is good. My favorite order is the roast beef sandwhich with onions and pepers with au jus dipping sauce. Oh and the fries are always hot and fresh!!!

The best, best burger in the entire Chelan Valley and beyond. The people are friendly friendly! The last time I was there, I told them that the burgers are the best and that the fries are also amazing...they told me they cut fresh potatoes for their fries! I had no idea...no wonder they are really good! I can't imagine that the staff would "scream" at any one...don't pay attention to this review...It IS a tavern, so I'm sure children are NOT allowed inside...why would someone take their children to a "tavern"? Also the person's cursing in their review makes me wonder about the type of person they are...like it's bad to "yell" that children are not allowed in a tavern, but it's totally ok to take your kids into a tavern and to curse online in a review?? Weird.

Highly recommend this place! The burgers are flavorful and the portions are huge. The wait staff is great and you never have to wait for service as the wait staff helps each other out. Especially liked how with your food they bring out a cardboard six pack bottle holder filled with your different condiments.

Loved Buddy's Tavern. Service was super quick and friendly. The food was just really good. I had the Freedom Dip sandwich - meat was tender, sandwich was hot - and it was huge. My husband had the burger and fries - he said it was excellent and again, it was huge and a whole lot of fries. Fun and friendly atmosphere. I'd recommend if you are in the area.
