Area chain outlet dishing Buffalo wings & cheeseburgers in a straightforward setting.
"Is a Northwestern student who can’t handle spicy foods called a “Mildcat?” Buffalo Joe’s will welcome those tame eaters, though the real fun involves eating the joint’s famous spicy wings. These are fried wings spun with tangy Buffalo-style hot sauce. Very flavorful and not too hot for those who can take it. The waffle fries are also a nice touch." - Samantha Nelson, Eater Staff
"With its large bright orange sign, it’s easy to spot Buffalo Joe’s in Rogers Park. This cash-only fast food spot has been a neighborhood chicken wing staple for years. Inside, the small space has a few counter spots and booths, but these seats are used mainly for waiting for take-out orders rather than dining in. Their menu has things like burgers and fried fish, but the wings are why you’re here. The sauces are great, whether you get the mild, spicy, or suicide topped with jalapeños. And regardless of what heat level you choose, each one has a nice tanginess. Unfortunately, the wings are tiny, occasionally overcooked, and though they have a decent crisp, the meat is under-seasoned. But despite not being the best wings in the city, we'll happily inhale them if they're there." - John Ringor
