The Best Restaurants in Camberwell, South East London | Eater London

"A casual eater walking into Victreatz might be tempted by a lunchtime jollof and chicken deal, emboldened by a ladle of hot stew on the side, but this would be to miss the best things that chef Victoria Cole makes, which are neither the chicken, nor the suya, but the pulses, starches and vegetables that define the soporific nature of Yorùbá cuisine. Ewa oloyin, honey beans, are cooked until they have soaked up enough stew that their cell walls threaten to dissolve, either eaten on their own luxuriating in their own sweetness as ewa riro, or mashed with a moat of hot pepper into ewa agoyin. Many stews and soups are done party style, with Cole wielding a lighter hand with the palm oil. Egusi, that ingenious seed, thirstily soaks up soup and coalesces into curds that are often compared to scrambled eggs or ricotta but should only ever be compared to egusi. All else that is required is a ball of pounded yam; some patience; and a roll of kitchen paper for wet fingers." - Jonathan Nunn

Buka Spot has great customer service and maintains a high standard of hygiene. I’ve tried over 80% of the items on their menu and can confidently say they’ve been consistent. I’ve also experienced a few situations, such as delivery guys mixing up my orders and not reading the food descriptions properly when ordering for example the moi-moi is served cold. Overall, Buka Spot offers delicious, well-prepared meals that truly capture authentic Nigeria & Ibile flavours and provide great value for money.

Ordered through JustEat. Ordered Ogbono soup with pounded yam. The Ogbono soup was too oily! And to make it worse the soup did not draw like it’s supposed to and the soup was not nice. Do better.

I’ve been buying food online from the restaurant for more than 1 year and today I went in person and the food was even better! I always wondered why people complain about the restaurant knowing full well they’re complaining and still eating the meal and licking their fingers after it… sighh. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to buy Nigerian food, it has such a unique taste unlike any other.

I ordered one time and it was really nice so I decided to order again and this time I regretted my decision. It was like the food was made yesterday and all the soup taste really bad and the amala was not really soft and freshly made. I don’t like this at all.

The Efor was really nice, no much oil. Very delicious. I will come back again!!

I ordered ayamase stew today and I was very disappointed. The stew had a big bone and just three tiny pieces of meat. This is very annoying and you need to do better!!! You need to offer the value for the money.

This is the worst Jolof rice, from All Nigerian Restaurants I ever tried, very big disappointment ! The rice was was overcooked, and the portion was small, is not even about the portion... is the food quality, the chicken is not fresh at all, is like out of date! We just just order from huber Eat which we paid 3.29 an extortion! Never Again, this is an insult for the good Nigerian food I ever tried 🙏🏽
