10 Great Cuban Pizzas To Try Around Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Cuban Pizzeria on Red Road just north of Calle Ocho is super cozy. Its split dining room and yellow walls gives us a warm, fuzzy feeling that’s the perfect accompaniment to one of Miami’s best comfort foods. Our favorite pizza to order here is topped with empella, which is unsalted pork fatback that gets crispy and golden brown in the oven. It’s a less salty alternative to bacon, which doesn’t overwhelm the cheese and well-seasoned tomato sauce. On top of pizzas, Bulila Chef also specializes in discos voladores, one of our favorite types of Cuban sandwiches." - yuliet llanes, carlos c olaechea

Bulila Chef Pizza Cubana - Review - Flagami - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Cuban Pizzeria on Red Road just north of Calle Ocho is one of the coziest restaurants in Miami. Its split dining room and yellow walls gives us a warm and fuzzy feeling that’s the perfect accompaniment to Miami’s best comfort food. The chef here (whose name is not Bulila, by the way) loves to poke out from the kitchen and survey the happy diners munching away on fluffy pizzas with a look of contentment. Compliment him on his pizzas, and you’ll be rewarded with twinkly eyes and a warm smile. Our favorite pizza to order here is topped with empella, which is unsalted pork fatback that gets crispy and golden brown in the oven. It’s a less salty alternative to bacon, which doesn’t overwhelm the cheese and well-seasoned tomato sauce. Google
Amazing pizza, it outshines all other pizza joints in all of South Florida. Taste is fresh and feels good to eat, like one of those that you don’t feel guilty eating. It’s a must have and a must recommend to anyone that wants to try Cuban cuisine.

Google
Waitress was really nice, about 5 minutes of wait time, TASTY JUICE!! Pizza is delicious. Everything is 5 stars expert atmosphere because I am really picky of the admosphere haha. I recommend you and your entire family to come to get pizza and eat it at home while watching some tv or I don’t know really. Thank you for considering reading all this! Good day (;

Yelp
The pizza looked good, but I'm just not a fan of their sauce. It's not typical Rey pizza or Monte de oca sauce, it's thick and very sweet. It was pretty cheap for all the food we got. We just couldn't finish eating it because of the taste of their sauce. If they would change that, I would rate 5 stars.

Yelp
From all the Cuban pizza places I been, this has to be the closest to the real thing. Cuban myself. It is also a very good price! Clean place. Friendly staff. The location and place it's a little hidden but nevertheless it's good. I prefer this over the competition as the sauce from the competition (Rey pizza I guess?) gives me severe acid reflux.

Yelp
Best Cuban pizza and spaghetti in Miami! Wee come here all the time. The dough is made fresh everyday by the owner and the taste of the spaghetti sauce is addicting.

Yelp
This is the the best Cuban pizza I have ever tried in my life. It is sad that these people are so hidden an nobody knows much about them. Their personal Cuban pizzas are amazing with that yummy crust. The reason why I want to write a post is because this place is so underrated.

Yelp
I have an obsession with pizza, and being from Miami, the land with few decent NY Style pizza joints and no Chicago Style pizza joins it leaves much to be desired. I'd been driving by this sign for cuban pizza off of 57th Avenue and 8th Street going north and finally decided to stop and see. Doesn't get more hole in the wall than this. Couldn't even see it when I parked, but deduced where it had to be, hidden between an optical place next to some type of clothing store... As expected this was a trip to old world latin america. Two basic tables with four chairs and counter space with four to six stools total, latin music blaring, but the owner brought it down when I entered. I asked for a menu and was given a 4x6 full color card. It listed pizzas and pastas with their toppings and prices. Their personal cheese was $4 and the family size was $12. Toppings included ham, chorizo, "shrimps" and pepperoni. The wall also listed all the typical cuban staple sandwiches, like a frita and a media noche at a fair price as well as the typical tropical juices and shakes, though I wasn't interested in them, since I came for the pizza... Like typical cuban pizza, the is thick, resembling focaccia, which I would bet has some lard thrown in for "good luck". It's similar to Pizza Hut pan crust but more seasoned. The tomato sauce had some type tang in it, cumin, garlic, and/or paprika. Whatever it is it's traditionally cuban my wife says. The cheese felt like some type of whole milk mozzarella or gouda, which I think is what I read these cuban pizza places use. Anyway, the pizza was well done all the way through and was as good if not better than Montes de Oca and Rey's Pizza. The place is cash only. Expect to bring along an interpreter if you don't speak Spanish or just point to the menu. I wish the owner luck as it doesn't get more mom and pop than this. :)

Yelp
I'm a pizza fan and I can tell that this place has the real taste of the cuban pizza. I love it. It's better than Montes de Oca. And better customer service.
