The Bund Review - Forest Hills - New York - The Infatuation

"Queens natives and childhood friends David Kong and Jim Nguyen opened the first location of The Bund in Forest Hills in 2016 to give the neighborhood a destination for quality Shanghainese food. In 2019, they opened a second location in Astoria. And at both spots, you can choose from three options for Shanghainese wontons, or just do the smart thing and try them all. The Shanghai jumbo wontons are filled with pork and leeks, with a delicate and lightly-salted broth. The mini pork wontons have a paste-like filling and come with an herbal chicken broth. And the third option with chicken and zucchini instead of pork is less traditional, but perfect for anyone who’d like a slight crunch with each soupy bite. Food Rundown Peking Duck Bao While this is a Northern-style dish rather than a Shanghainese one, The Bund’s version still has the fluffy bao and juicy, thin-skinned duck that makes it so satisfying. There are two buns per order, and we recommend dousing the duck and scallions with the hoisin-based sauce. Pancake with Beef Brisket This is a giant rolled up pancake that’s as flaky as phyllo, stuffed with tender beef brisket. It’s meant to be shared, but the portion is big enough to be a full meal for one. Crab Pork Soup Dumplings Soup dumplings are almost a requisite order at any good Shanghainese restaurant. The dough is slightly thick on these ones, but they still hit the spot. We have a slight preference for the crab and pork version over the plain pork xiao long bao, but both are worth trying. Shanghainese Jumbo Wonton with Soup Skip the Sichuan wontons (not nearly spicy enough) and try these Shanghainese wontons instead. A house signature, these extra-large wontons are filled with pork and leeks, with a delicate and lightly-salted broth with egg strips and seaweed. Deep Fried Matcha Sesame Balls On the outside they look like traditional dim sum sesame balls, but on the inside these have an ample amount of matcha mixed into the bean paste. They’re deep-fried but not too oily and just sweet enough to balance out the matcha bitterness. Order these if you need an extra caffeine kick with your dessert." - Diana Kuan

I always got takeout from here, but I wanted to try it in person! It was so good! The staff was incredibly attentive and sweet. We got some chicken soup dumplings, noodles and some pan friend chicken dumplings too. So yummy! I will be coming back!

Google
We ordered the Szechuan chicken cold dish last night and were surprised to be served a dish primarily covered in peanut sauce, as the menu doesn't mention peanuts at all for this dish. We asked the server who confirmed that this was the correct dish and that peanuts weren't mentioned on the menu. She didn't try to correct this, still charging us for it. We didn't end up eating it but even my partner's duck wasn't great, being dry and lacking in flavor. The soup dumplings were okay, but overall, the experience wasn't worth $60.

Google
if i could give this place 12 stars out of 10 i would! i placed a delivery order for the wonton soup, wood ear mushroom salad, and beef and pepper noodle soup. everything came fresh and delicious, and way earlier than expected. the noodles had a homemade texture that i really enjoyed. i was feeling super sick, so i asked for more wonton soup broth in exchange for a free promotion item. they were super generous and gave me both! love their service.

Google
The food is tasty here. I really like the pork soup dumplings. But the salted chicken was very yummy, pork belly bao tender, and the scallion pancakes are the best mix of crunchy texture and gooey inside. The only thing I haven't really liked was the seafood soup dumplings, but that could just be preference. The place is small. But we had no problem finding a seat for lunch on a weekday. Salted chicken this time was definitely pork.

June 2025 Update: New menu, new staff. Must be new chefs in the back as the food tasted different. Pork chop over rice was no longer served with a marinated egg and pickles, but with egg fried rice. The pork chop was no longer satiating. Last year it came out freshly prepped and juicy with a lot of flavor. Now it's too lean and bland, like it was never seasoned. I gave the food here 5 stars last year and they set the bar really high. Now it's at 3 stars. --- --- Past review: An unexpected contender for best dish at Bund Dumpling House is their fried pork chop over rice (Taiwanese style). This is not on their regular menu, but on a separately laminated side menu. Got this tip straight from their friendly staff after I had already ordered their delicious dumplings and was looking for something more satiating. Was told to eat the pork chop first while it was still hot and crispy.

Excellent food selection and service! We were just roaming around the neighborhood when my sister and I came across this hidden gem. We will definitely return to explore the rest of their menu…and delicious noddles! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick and tasty bite.

I am SO happy I tried this place! I'm definitely not the first to say that there aren't any good Chinese options in Astoria. HOWEVER, Bund on Broadway has saved my Chinese flavor craving taste buds! Since moving to Astoria from eastern Queens I had basically given up on Chinese food because other than this place they're pretty terrible in Astoria. Did I mention their soup dumplings, dim sum, and noodles are hand made?? THE DETAILS: * Pan fried pork buns - These are REALLY good. The dough is soft but crispy on the bottom (vs other places where it's dried out) and it was literally dripping with the meat sauce when I bit into it. The sauce also wasn't bland like some other places. * Dan dan noodles - This is so interesting. I've actually never had this noodle dish before so I wanted to try it and the flavor profile is quite unique. Definitely recommend giving it a try! * Spicy beef udon noodles - My boyfriend loves udon noodles so he opted for this dish. Other than the fact that he said they could have been spicier (but he has a really high spice tolerance) he still said they were REALLY good and this is the only place we can get Chinese food in Astoria (lol) *Zongzi (sticky rice with pork wrapped and steamed in a banana leaf) - We gave this a try and it was very nostalgic for me. The rice was a little wetter than I'm used to but that might be me thing? Overall very tasty. Wish I got the salted egg one though! *Matcha sesame balls filled with red bean paste - Oh my gosh I've never had this in matcha form. I always remembered going to dim sum with my family and getting these from the push carts but this is a new take on them. They were still warm when we got them (we did delivery) and they were delicious! If you liked sesame, red bean, and the stickiness of mochi, you will love this dessert! I'll be ordering again to try their cold sesame noodles next! Take my advice and give this place a try (and check out the yummy photos)!

Go there twice continuously in two days. Of course because it’s sooooo delicious! For the first day, we just passed by and not expected this small street side restaurant is a hidden gem! The food just bring my thoughts all the way back to my hometown… So we went there the second day, and ordered different stuffs, also amazing. Definitely will go again. 👍

Yelp
We decided to try this place out since it's within the block of where I live. I'm still new to the area and wanted to check some local places out. ALSO, just saying but the area itself doesn't have like a lot a lot of Asian place, maybe Japanese and Thai but that's about it from what I've seen. We went on a weekend afternoon and there were many seats available but have seen it being PACKED!!! at night and with Asian people so it must be good right? Anyways - once seated we looked at the menu and saw that they had a lot of familiar dishes! We ordered the Scallion noodles, scallion pancakes with beef, the crabmeat and pork soup dumplings, the curry puff dumplings, the Ox brisket and tripe with peanuts and a Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice. The lady that took our order was very nice and friendly! Throughout the meal, she would check in to ask if the food was okay. Okay - first off, the food came out QUICK! Which was ideal for us on the day we went. We had an appointment for our cats and wanted to make sure we won't be late but also we were fed. The scallion noodles was pretty decent in that it was exactly that. It wasn't overly sauce-y nor bland. Had a nice bounce to them as well. The scallion pancakes with beef was SOOO crispy. It seem a little different from the usual ones I get but it still passes. The hoisin was good and not too much as some places that I've been to then to have too much hoisin or oyster sauce and it gets salty. The beef slices were small and not a lot but scallion pancakes are the star! The soup dumplings tho!!! I was actually very surprised. The broth was very flavorful and the skin was thin but not so thin that it'll break on you when you grab them from the steamer. Wished we got more soup dumplings... The curry puff dumplings came with 4 and all were packed full of curry flavor but not too much where it'll coat your how mouth. They were plated with some thick slices of cucumbers which were devoured ! The brisket and tripe was okay. I'm saying okay because it wasn't spicy and it didn't make me want it more. The brisket was a little thin to my liking, maybe that's why it wasn't spicy enough. Lastly, the Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice. I'll be honest I was so excited since I haven't had Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice in SOOOO long!. The ones here were bland and there were no sauce or anything. So everything was good but I would not order the Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice again. If it was more flavor and not just fried, I think it would improve it a lot. Again, the other food items we ordered were good and the quickness is appreciated ! Overall, good food and would come again. It's a gem in the area, for sure.

Yelp
I want to preface that I got this order to go. The food came out 10 minutes after ordering so wait time was pretty good. And the portion size is very generous. I really appreciated that! But personally the flavors were a miss for me. It was a touch salty for me throughout and the flavor lacked depth. Nonetheless, I'm keen to go again and try a different dish.

Yelp
A small restaurant just a few blocks off the train station. We tried the crabmeat & pork soup dumplings, beef stew noodle soup, salt & pepper fried chicken and wontons in red chili oil for 2 people. All the items were delicious and hit the spot. The soup dumplings were extra tasty. There was an abundance of super favorable soup inside and the skin was thin. Dare I say the soup dumplings are better than some of the most popular soup dumplings restaurants in New York? Overall, highly recommend for the food and prices. The service is what you pay for a fast and casual Chinese restaurant.
google avatar

Lou D.

Yelp
Delicious variety of dumplings and full Chinese menu also. Fast service and friendly staff at this small location. The dumplings are the star but don't forget to try the food as well.

Yelp
We were the only Asian in the shop 1. Salt and pepper fried chicken This honestly tasted better than it looks but it still wasn't the best. I thought it was too salty. 2. Soup dumplings I would've given this a 4 stars actually. I really liked it! Very soupy and the dumpling skin is thin. Most importantly it was $6.50 - I think it's very reasonable for New York prices. 3. Beef noodle 4. Spicy pork noodle Unfortunately, both noodles were more on the bland side. The broth is really bland and the noodles were slightly mushy and over cooked. The aunty serving us was really nice and spoke mandarin with us. I really wanted to like this spot but it isn't it for us :(

Yelp
Cozy neighborhood gem with affordable tasty options! Everything was delicious but standouts were the Shanghainese pan fried pork soup dumplings, and the Dan Dan noodles. The crabmeat soup dumplings needed a little more flavor and the steamed roast pork buns needed more meat, however I enjoyed everything. If you want more flavor I recommend ordering the hot oil.

Yelp
For walking 10-15 minutes instead of taking a train out to flushing or Chinatown, this place is great for your immediate cravings! We got the mini pork wonton soup, roast pork bun, baby bok choy, and soup dumplings. The wonton soup was great for a rainy day and the bok choy was cooked just right for the crunchiness and savoriness of the garlic cooked within. The soup dumplings were decent but were missing an essence for me. Skin was nice and thin though. They use a lighter vinegar which doesn't pack as much punch as a dip. The roast pork bun was sadly very disappointing for me but it could be that I have higher standards for this. This place is not to be dismissed. I'd definitely come back for their noodles and rice cakes next time!
google avatar

Sunny W.

Yelp
Newly launched dish at the restaurant!!!! They are now serving pho. The noodles and meat were good. Definitely would go back when I'm craving for pho in the area.
google avatar

Jamele W.

Yelp
I just like the food. I stoped ordering over the phone because they seem like they do not understand what I am asking for, and one -two many times have they gotten my order wrong over da phone.
google avatar

Moeka S.

Yelp
I've ordered from this place and I wanted to come in person. The food was honestly... a hit or miss!! The fried pan soup dumpling and pork and shrimp shumai were DELICIOUS. I wish there was a sauce, I asked for soy sauce and there was vinegar with the pan fried soup dumpling so I ended up mixing them and pouring them over to the food. Wanton in red chili sauce was good but it was definitely more sesame sauce than chili sauce. It was good and the wanton was stuffed. Curry bun, I wasn't a huge fan of:// It needed an oomph to the flavor. It felt like there were some curry-ish something inside but not quite. Inside is clean and the service were quick and efficient. And very inexpensive!! Also if you pay with cash and spend over $30 you could get a soup dumpling dish, which would make it so worth the visit. I would stick to traditional dim sum dishes next time.
google avatar

Kwen Y.

Yelp
Used to be my go to place for Shanghainese However it appears the old chef was gone and the food quality dropped significantly. All foods are flavorless. Really a shame as it was so good back then.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Came for dinner and had a great meal here! Great lowkey spot in Astoria. I tried: + Crispy shredded hot and sour beef + Steamed Vegetable buns + Pork soup dumplings + Dan Dan noodles + Steamed pork buns The pork soup dumplings were the standout, followed by the hot and sour beef and steamed pork buns. Overall awesome! 4.5 stars.
google avatar

Jessika Z.

Yelp
Needed dim sum and Yelp has done it. Came to this place and the food was absolutely insanely delicious! This is a small restaurant, BYOB, but the food was fresh and hot. The staff was great and took great care of our table. The food is affordable and place seemed to fill up quickly, which was great to see. I had the soup dumplings, pan friend soup dumplings (after reading I learned that they are known for this), Dan Dan noodles, and scallion pancake. I will officially be coming here 1x per month at least. Save a trip anywhere else and try this intimate, fresh, and comforting spot in Astoria!
google avatar

Karina Q.

Yelp
The food was kind of tasteless and one dimensional. The noodles were just spicy, too much pepper and no other seasoning. The curry beef bao dumplings were tolerable, 1 more star for the soup that my friend ordered (he said it was not too bad). Overall I would not recommend this place, there are def better and tastier options in the area.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Yeah I will never visit this restaurant again. They aren't very cheap and I ordered two dishes. The first was fine but when I opened the second, I found a roach. When I called back, they wouldn't refund the whole order over the phone. I had to go back and show them. Upon seeing the evidence, they STILL wouldn't refund the whole order, only the contaminated dish. This is terrible customer service. They were not apologetic or anything. It felt like they didn't even believe me. 0 stars
google avatar

Riki J.

Yelp
Came here on a week night, it's a small space but got seated right away. Ordered the spicy ox tripe, cucumber, and Peking duck bun for appetizers. They were all very good, the spicy ox tripe was actually spicy and the Peking duck was perfectly balanced. I had beef and chicken soup dumplings which were both okay, I prefer the original pork. Also had the crystal shrimp that was good and sesame matcha balls with red bean filling. Service was quick and efficient.
google avatar

Eden H.

Yelp
I've eaten at Bund Dumpling House and have taken out food several times and have had wonderful meals every time. I usually get the wanton soup and the dumplings are really good. Sometimes they have different types of specials for example one time they had a delicious fried chicken appetizer.

Ellie T.

Yelp
Trying to practice Chinese with the workers was like pulling teeth. If you want to practice Chinese while at a Chinese restaurant, I'd recommend Flushing, Chinatown, or even any of tue other Chinese takeout places on Broadway in Astoria.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
This is Matt's son writing his first review. The food was very cheap and you get a lot for your money. I had the shrimp soup dumplings and noodles with scallion sauce. My dad also got the pork bun dumplings. The food was so amazing we even got extra food to go to eat tomorrow. The staff were very nice and the service was quick.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Real deal XLB original pork, skin as thin as possible, soup plenty and burning hot, as it should be. Known as their specialty here, and it is definitely true. Brisket & Tripe - cold dish, cool and tasty, tender on both brisket and tripe. Mouth water chicken - nice and cool again, chili oil marinated to perfection. Curry beef bao, was average, very soft bun. Shrimp dumpling, delicate and delicious XLB pan fried, full of soup again and a significant crunch at the fried area. Crispy noodle, HK style, was average Dan dan mein was light and noodles were light as well. Shrimp XLB had the tasty soup with mini chunks of shrimp, first time I've had shrimp, skin was a bit thicker only than the original but the original was so good, it couldn't compare, so shrimp XLB probably very good if ate first. Will be back, next door real deal al pastor. Wish we had it this good in San Francisco.

Yelp
Let me say I am so happy I was introduced to this place. The food is beyond amazing! My friends took me here the other night. Very authentic food. We had to try a lot of it! It was cold out so of course we had wonton soup and pork soup dumplings. They were so good. And for a good price! I was also curious about the black soup dumplings they were made of cuttlefish and had shrimp inside. They were interesting and worth a try! I love a spicy cucumber salad so we shared that with the table and some spicy noodles. So so good! If you are into this kind of food it is certainly a place to check out. Food is great, the service is quick. It is a little tight area inside. They do not serve alcohol. But they do have other kinds of drinks there.
google avatar

Bernadette S.

Yelp
I've eaten here once at the restaurant and three times grabbed takeout. I've ordered scallion pancakes every single time. They're typically always chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Sadly, I've only gotten to enjoy them with the accompanying dipping sauce twice. They've forgotten my sauce twice. I'm usually not a complainer so I make up my own. This last time (7/23/23) I stopped in for a takeout order. House special fried rice (yum!), pork belly buns, and my usual scallion pancakes. Burnt to a dehydrated crisp and again, no dipping sauce. I always peek in my bag to make sure I got everything but! Two employees checked my bag in front of me giving me the reassurance that my order was correct. Nope. The man that brought the bag out overlooked it and the lady who took my order looked in the bag and also overlooked it. All this after while waiting for my food I had a pleasant conversation with the lady about friggin bean sprouts. Overall good food. I'd just like my scallion pancakes cooked properly and with the sauce I pay for.

Yelp
Came all the way to Astoria just for Bund... Was hoping maybe some magic from Flushing might be making its way inward, but it seems instead that prefabricated--indistinguishable Times Square is moving outward...

B T.

Yelp
Still has some great options, but overall can be hit or miss at times. Sesame noodles are great, as well as veg steamed buns. Scallion pancakes are very oily and thin, crispy, so not very flavorful. Shanghainese smoked fish was super sweet and had many bones. Service is always good.
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
Bund is pretty good dim sum for Astoria! When I don't feel like making the trek to Flushing for Shanghai You Garden, I turn to Bund. The soup dumplings, like anywhere else, definitely have to be eaten right away, so I wouldn't recommend getting them delivered. The rice cake noodles are a favorite and the duck is a lovely treat!
google avatar

Aastha U.

Yelp
I've ordered delivery from Bund a few times. Here's what I had most recently: Wonton in Red Chili Oil: Packed with meat and greens and covered in a fairly spicy chili and sesame paste. Would get again. Bund Special Shaomai with bacon bits: This was a bit of a random choice on my part. These were filled with a slightly bacon-flavored rice. Would not order again. Chicken wonton soup: Tasty, fairly strong sesame flavor in the wontons. Would get again. Shanghainese mini wonton soup (small): Delicious!! My favorite dish. The pork wontons really shined. Would get again! Everything arrived well.

Tameeka B.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant for an elite event and I really remember the pan fried soup dumplings so I wanted to catch up w/ a friend who lives in the area and suggested we go here. We wanted to catch up and grab some dumplings. Here's what we ordered: - Edamame to start (the salt was all the way at the bottom of the bowl, we didn't realize it until the end) - Roast Peking Duck Bao - Pork Bao (my friend said it needed more sauce) - Pork Soup Dumplings (these were delicious! also note they come in 4s, we are use to getting 6 dumplings per order) - Pan seared soup dumpling (this is what I came for and it didn't disappoint, these also come in 4s and are very very hot! hotter than the regular soup dumplings) - a must try if you dine here Transportation-wise, it's not far from the subway (maybe a 5-8 minute walk) and parking can get a little hairy but doable. Heads up, the restaurant does not serve alcohol. And I'd say the prices here are pretty reasonable compared to other restaurants we dine at for dumplings. I will definitely be back because I want to try the truffle pork soup dumplings.
google avatar

Molly F.

Yelp
Speaking for their pickup and delivery (ordering direct), the food is always hot, service is great, the menu is extensive, and the prices are very fair. This is pretty much the only spot in the neighborhood for dim sum and Sichuan options so it's one of my go-tos. The soup dumplings are really good with thin skin and a flavorful broth. I think they are as good as or better than most soup dumplings I've had above Chinatown in Manhattan. I usually get scallion pancakes and Dan Dan noodles as well. The pan seared pumpkin rice cake with red bean filling is also a fun treat, though probably even better when dining in. Since covid started they've also have a huge selection of frozen dumplings for your freezer, including soup dumplings.
google avatar

Dipali G.

Yelp
The food is flavorful but very carb heavy, not enough veggies or meat in any of the dishes Food: the pan fried soup dumplings are not worth it! By pan frying it, it becomes so much harder to eat and the dumpling itself doesn't have much flavor, so I do not recommend. The zhongzi was interesting, it is just sticky rice and it is good! The chicken pan friend noodles were my favorite but I think they could have had way more veggies and meat, it felt like I was searching for both of those. We also got the pork noodle with rice cakes. That was good but I found the rice cakes a bit flavorless, so there needs to be more to it! Also similar complaint- there should be more veggies or meat to balance all the carb-y pieces Price: pretty cheap. We got 4 dishes and paid about $52 and had leftovers. The portion sizes are large so keep that in mind for when you order Ambience: the inside is not special. Service: good service with attentive waiters
google avatar

Alexandra R.

Yelp
My go to spot for soup dumplings !!! The authenticity of this place speaks volumes. It is a no frills type of place with great food. The service is always quick and helpful.. the food always comes out fast and hott.. there is just no going wrong here. My favorite is the pork soup dumplings. The pan fried dumplings are also always a hit and you HAVE to get the cold sesame noodles. Yummmmm There is no alcohol but you can BYOB which keeps the price of the bill low! Definitely a must try in Astoria
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
We have ordered from here multiple times already. We have mostly done pick up/delivery. Haven't eaten dine-in yet. Here's my take: - Pork soup dumplings: can be really hot and don't stick together BUT can also stick together depending on when they get to you/when you eat them. The flavor and soup taste great. The skin isn't too thick, and pops easy once they're in your mouth. I've been reordering these the last few times, hoping they don't stick together and taste as good as the first time I ordered them. This is why I keep reordering from them. - Dan Dan Noodles: very flavorful and heavy in peanut butter. Not a fan personally. - Roast Peking Duck Bao: for the price, I feel like I've had better in Flushing. More meat and less fat. Felt a little skimpy on the meat and toppings. - Pan fried pork dumplings: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Bigger portions than the Soup Dumplings.
google avatar

Angel G.

Yelp
Out of the Chinese restaurant, in the neighborhood, They have the best soup dumplings. It's 4 for per order, just enough to fulfill my cravings. I do wish/recommend the restaurant had some chilly oil that's a little spicier and the one that has chilly chunks for the folks that have spicier palette. Their spicy wontons are also very good just wish they were not as peanuty.
google avatar

Sharon J.

Yelp
Stopped by here since it was on the way to the Noguchi museum, and I was craving soup dumplings. Cute, asian decor inside and pretty good food and super affordable prices! Get: - Soup dumplings: super good although the broth wqs a little sweeter than i expected, thin skin, lots of broth inside - Pan Fried Pork Buns: also delicious but broth was sweeter than expected - Tofu with Black Fungus Mushroom: one of my favorite Shangainese dishes & well done here, also a chef specialty Other Dishes: - Shanghainese Pan Fried Soup Dumplings: i would skip these next time, i like the regular soup dumplings much better, these just have a crispy/fried bottom which i didn't enjoy as much

Yelp
I would say I like their dumplings here. The siomai was good but a bit dry overall it's a nice place to go when you went with Chinese Food but I think there are far more better places but I'm still giving them a five because it taste really good. It was a takeout , but I saw inside quite small but cozy and the service was always really good in this place. Wait, i'll really recommend their pork buns. Yes to that!!!
google avatar

Stefan H.

Yelp
It's a dumpling house and the dumplings here are great! But everything else was just not doing it for me. The ambience isn't the best and the service is OK. Having ordered a few other dishes like the cold noodles, duck buns and duck over rice, none of them were anything special, especially the duck over rice which was the least favorite Overall, if you want some takeout dumplings, this place can satisfy that craving, otherwise stick to Flushing for the other stuff
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Highly recommended- better than China town. We had the soup dumplings and the red chili oil stuffed wontons. Both excellent. The won tons had a spicy peanut butter red chili sauce. Wish we would have ordered more but we wanted to save room for Little Egypt.

Yelp
Favorites were the Chicken Wonton Soup (flavorful!), The Special Shrimp Soup dumplings (so soft and flavorful), SCALLION PANCAKES! (Run do not walk to order these it's so crispy and amazing) the veggie spring rolls (pretty standard but yummy) the Dan Dan noodle, pretty spicy so just be warned! And the fried beef,(lots of veggies and yummy!) the white rice is also amazing which as a latina is super important lol. Service was quick and efficient! Ambiance is more quiet and not too flashy in appearance but more elevated than a walk in take out Chinese restaurant. It's relatively intimate and nice for a meeting with someone you'd like to make conversation with!

Yelp
Was in town spending the night with a friend and we landed on Bund for an early dinner. I am so glad that we landed here. I love soup dumplings and these were absolutely perfect. We got an order of the pork and the shrimp soup dumplings, an order of the cucumbers for a fresh bite, and an order of the spicy wontons with chili oil. All was very good. Note: They do not serve beer/wine or alcohol

Yelp
I love that there are Asian options in Astoria and XLB options too! The food is pretty good and authentic. The soup dumplings were light and tasty, filled with a good amount of soup but I would say just get the regular pork instead of the truffle. We got the truffle and we really didn't taste it. The Dan Dan noodles had a real kick to it but they prepared the orders well and the service was good.

Yelp
Really low quality ingredients , bad tasting food and just overall really not a great spot. Food came out 10 seconds later meaning it was all just sitting and waiting for someone to order

Yelp
Delicious dumplings! We tried a bunch from the menu. Our favorites were: the pan friend pork, pan friend shrimp, and the pork soup dumplings Highly recommend

Yelp
I just ordered from Ubereats and the food was delicious. The pork buns just melted in my mouth. The scallion pancake was between a dessert and an appetizer. I ordered wonton and shredded pork pickle soup both just warmed my inside up. The crab soup dumpling was my favorite with its seasoned broth favored. I will order again.

Yelp
The food was really good, however I did not appreciate the atmosphere the workers provided. When it came time to pay for me and my friends food, we were being forced to tip twice when I had already tipped. One of the workers had a very mean attitude towards me, and treated us very hostile. I also felt targeted when she claims this is my first time eating out, and that I have no knowledge or experience. The entire visit I was very calm and friendly towards the staff so I'm very confused as to why I was treated the way I was treated.

Yelp
Craving for dimsum one Saturday afternoon and yelp led me to this quaint little dimsum spot. They are apparently well known for their soup dumplings-- something I've never had before but always wanted to try. Unlike regular dumplings, soup dumplings have broth inside. I don't have anything to compare it too but it's way better than what I imagined. The wrapper is paper thin, filled with flavorful meat (I ordered crab/pork and shrimp) and tasty broth. These dumplings held the broth really good. I imagine this takes a lot of skills and technique to make. We also ordered beef stew noodle soup and wonton soup and they were both just as delicious. The beef stew was tender and also full of flavor. If you're in the area, highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Got one delivery order and quite possible I ordered wrong but much of my comments are specific to my personal preferences. THE GOOD: - Pork Soup dumplings - 4/5 - These I would order again, and were quite good and I love a soup dumpling! NOT FOR ME: - Scallion Pancake - 2/5 - Very thin/burnt and greasy. - Roast Peking Duck Bao - 1/5 - looked promising but the duck was 98% fat so there wasn't much to eat unfortunately. I realize duck is very fatty so perhaps they could distribute the meat a bit more evenly. - Roast pork bun - 2/5 - 2 in an order, lots of sauce, but didn't love the flavor, almost citrusy and some bits of port were quite fatty. I may be used to hong kong style pork bun.

Yelp
Many dimsum selections. They're all delicious and fresh. Pork soup dumplings are the best in NYC and I've tried them all. Don't underestimate this small location.

Yelp
Relatively cheap eats! Would probably eat here quite frequently if i lived in the neighborhood.. We got: - shanghainese pan fried soup dumplings 9/10: my first time trying this and i really enjoyed it!! Would definitely keep my eyes peeled to try it at other establishments and compare. The fried dough texture was excellent and i enjoyed it more than the regular xlb - bund pork soup dumplings 8/10: the skin is on the thinner side, think dtf over joe's, which i actually generally prefer. Nothing Amazing but nothing terrible either, hence the 8/10 - dan dan noodles 9/10: also enjoyed this and especially enjoyed the price point. The bowl is deceptively larger than it appears

Yelp
Got takeout from here since it's pretty close to my apartment, and was craving Asian food. Beef stew noodle soup - very filling and satisfying, and good portion. The beef was a decent cut as well. No complaints here! Also very glad for takeout that they separate the soup from the noodles because it prevents it from getting soggy! Sticky rice - also very standard, but good nevertheless! Definitely would be open to getting takeout from here again if I were to be craving Asian food, but mostly because it's so close to me. There wasn't anything special, but sometimes you just need something that will satisfy your cravings!

Yelp
Very flavorful soups and dumplings. A great addition to the Asian food scene in Astoria. However, the soups did arrive room temperature which disappointed me since soup should be served piping hot!

Yelp
OMG, so glad I'm visiting and I don't live near here, cause I would spent so much money eating here too often. Seriously, the soup dumplings (fresh) don't know what takeout would be, but it was popular was SOOOOOO GOOD. I wanted to order 3x but I wanted to try different things. Pork XLB: 10/5, skin was thin but not too thin, tons of soup and the flavor was OMG.... Shrimp Dumplings: 5/5, wish had some chinese din sum mustard sauce but still juicy and packed with shrimp. Spicy Brisket Appetizer: 4.5/5, it was still good but j kinda wish it was szechuan numbing spicy. Literally my only issue.
