Feels weird to judge a place based on atmosphere when it's located in an almost abandoned mall-like location in the depths of Brooklyn... but there basically was none. The food was okay but it felt like a limited menu, with more fun options only available on the weekend. I'm a huge fan of plantains, both sweet and savory, so I definitely enjoyed my meal but there wasnt anything that unique about it, and I wouldn't recommend traveling out of your way to go here but if you're nearby, yes, solid spot 👍🏼

Google
Great food, pictures doesn’t do it justice. They offer a plantain everything menu, from nachos, to sandwiches all of which are good options. Really great portion sizes, and great flavors. They periodically have specials like goat and conchs, always worth a visit. The recent addition of plantain pizza is always great as a featured item.

So, I saw this restaurant on Instagram, and I just had to see for myself. I was not disappointed. I am a born and raised Jamaican, and when I tell you Haitians are one of the best cooks on the planet, just know you're missing out if you haven't tried an authentic Haitian dish. This restaurant is located in Caton Market in Flatbush. I ordered the griot tacos with all the toppings and an order of plantain fries with griot 🤤🤤🤤 It was delicious. The young lady that took my order was so pleasant, and I love that. Great energy, great location, great service, and most of all, great food. I will be back again

Ayisyen Approved 🇭🇹 I didn’t go to their brick and mortar location but I would assume the quality is the same. On a warm Sunday, I finally had the chance to get the Griot and Plantain sandwich from the “BunNan” stand at Smorgasbord. It took less than 5 minutes, the staff was so friendly and after weeks of eyeing their stand, I am so happy I tried their food. They give you an option of sweet or green-plantain and I chose green. The griot was flavorful, and not too salty. I asked for extra pikliz (spicy, vinegar, and onion/carrot relish) and thanks to my mother, I am used to spicier. The sandwich was large and filling. I will definitely try it again and I rarely repeat meals at Smorgasbord. I recommend they have spicier pikliz for customers who want something more intense 🔥

This place is really good, I always be coming here when I can and the food never fails to be good. The atmosphere is really nice too, it feels very fancy. The cashier guy Ted is really nice as well. I would 10/10 recommend coming here

Google
I ordered the mushroom green plantain sandwich as I am vegan and it’s one of the few items they have that can be made vegan without the sauce. Great flavor as the sandwich was quite savory. The service was great, and I love supporting local owned restaurants and business. Ted was my server and did a great job explaining the menu and the specials they were offereing. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and what something good.

I go here almost twice a week. It’s around the corner from my house. The food is AMAZING!!! I’m NEVER disappointed. There are other restaurants in the market but my number 1 choice will ALWAYS be Bunnan!!! ☺️

Yelp
Bunnan is one of my neighborhood go-to's, the type of place I can order from and know whatever I'm getting is good. Today I was finally home on a weekend, and decided to try the Plantain Pizza I've been seeing them advertise on their socials. *I want to offer to the team that the order method is a little confusing (pic below)-- I chose the Plantain Pizza Griot option (love their pork), and when it came up, it asked me to pick an option for a Taco. Knowing from socials that the Pizza was a personal pan size that, I figured it must just come with a size because this special is on the pricier side of their items ($26). So I chose mushrooms for the taco to go with my Griot pizza, but when my roommate came back with the pizza, and it was only/all mushrooms. Honestly, if this was anywhere but Bunnan I'd have been unhappy about it, but literally everything was so good I can't even complain. The Mushroom pizza is absolutely delicious Only mentioning it in case anyone else on Toast runs into that confusion, but trust me, eating here you'll be happy with whatever you'll get. 10's, as usual!

Yelp
Drove a lovely 2hrs (in traffic) to try BunNan... it was on my to try list and I'm so glad we made the trip. EVERYTHING and I mean tout bagay was amazing! I had the mushroom sandwich which had all the flavors! (Ordered 2 more to go). My group tried every sandwich (griot, tassot, jerk chicken, snapper and mushroom). Sampler box is a great idea! You can order and sit inside, though seats are limited and shared with other spots..but if you're me, the vibe is also outside! I had dlo kokoye, instead of water from the merchants outside and bought some kann to go. I absolutely wished this was closer but I won't let distance separate us BunNan! A bientot!

Yelp
The Goat plantain sandwich is phenomenal. Delicious ingredients and tender meat. Comes with a tiny tiny side salad. The service is very nice and the food hall has ample seating. However, the workers tried selling me on a juice drink. I don't normally drink sugary drinks but they insisted it was good. So I obliged and ordered a large to help support this small business. It wasn't until I paid that I saw the price: $9 for a regular cup of juice. Which was about 12 ounces. Those mangoes better be crushed by the palm of your hand for $9. It was decent but I would never actually pay that much anywhere else as it was nothing special. I actually do not really recommend this place because the price for something simple is clearly way too much and seems to be about gouging your wallet to support the new food hall.

Yelp
This was located inside a food hall. The location had plenty of potential, but when I was there, there were only 2 food stalls operating. Bunnan specializes in these plantain sandwiches. You have 5 options to pick from (pork, goat, jerk chicken, red snappers and mushroom). During the weekend they have special items like plantain lasagna. If you like trying different things or are indecisive, they have the sampler box option for $26. You can pick 4 sandwiches of any flavor except the goat one. The sample box is a smaller sized plantain sandwich than if you ordered individually. We ended up getting all four different option. You can pick between green plantain or sweet plantain for the sandwich shells. Here is my ranking of the four: 1. Mushroom - this is surprising my favorite! This is the least salty one and the mushroom texture is so meaty. 2. Pork - taste like bbq pulled pork 3. Red snapper - savory, texture reminds me of dried canned tuna 4. Jerk chicken - overly salty in my opinion; I also haven't really had jerk chicken but was a bit taken by the taste & texture I also highly recommend getting the sweet plantain shells. It's softer and the contrast of the sweet with the savory proteins really brings out the flavor! You get your food pretty quickly. It took about 7-10 minutes for my order and there were no orders in front of mine.

Yelp
The Flatbush Caribbean Market held so much promise, but in reality it hasn't lived up to what I imagined for the place. It feels like the vendors are selling the remains of someone's garage sale, if I'm being honest. The food hall that was promised is sparsely occupied, but Bunnan is the one stand that keeps me from writing off this place entirely. Bunnan's whole deal is that they take jerked meats and serve them between two grilled pieces of plantain. I tried the jerk chicken one and the flavors were on point. The sandwich is not exactly large though for $15. But you're paying for the privilege of something that came out of my fever dream, and it totally works. Whenever I'm at the market, I skip the vendor stalls and make a beeling for Bunnan's stand. You'll have to wade through a sea of CDs and tshirts, but for this plantain paradise it's worth it.

Yelp
First time trying Bunnan, I had the fried pork (griot) bunnan, it was delicious, tasty and fresh. Service and ambience is always lively whenever I visit. Worth trying it out. Great for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
This place is just flat out . Bunnan can be found in the Caribbean Marketplace in Flatbush, NY. Think food hall. The food was delicious. The ladies working here were gracious and the atmosphere gives Afro Caribbean vibes. You are guaranteed to dance from the music or the food. -jerk chicken bunnan sandwich w/ salad - passion fruit lemonade

Yelp
Bunnan is located at the back of Flatbush central market which makes it a laid back atmosphere where you can eat on the tables nearby. To make their sandwiches, they smash the plantains and each sandwich has caramelized onions, red cabbage slaw, pikliz and sauce. I absolutely loved the sweet plantain and the tenderness and flavors from the goat. what we ordered: sweet yellow plantain with pork $15 green plantain with tassot goat $23 passionfruit lemonade $6 I love the sweet yellow plantain! The sweetness from the plantain contrasts well with the pork. Sweet and savory. Savory green plantain with goat was tender and well seasoned. the green plantain is a crispy texture whereas the sweet plantain has a softer bite. Slaw in the sandwich adds a lot more dimension to the sandwich and the salad balances the savory flavors well! Passionfruit Lemonade was refreshing but on the sweeter side. Overall I have to come back on the weekend to try their plantain waffles and pizza!! The cashier was helpful in explaining the menu options.

Yelp
One of the few dining options within Caton market. The prices are as to be expected which is around $15+. The sandwiches are not large and don't come with any sides. I enjoyed my mushroom sandwich although I did feel like it was not. It was flavorful nonetheless. The service was quick and there are shared seating options if you don't want to takeout. A good quick stop option.

Patrick A.

Yelp
Ordered the griot sandwich with 1/2 green and 1/2 yellow plantain. This was exactly what I needed. Sweet and savory. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely will return.

Yelp
Traveled from Florida to come eat here. They did not disappoint! Friendly and helpful staff and flavorful food! Ambiance is cool, Caribbean music playing as you eat. Glad I finally made it!

Yelp
So I decided to try this place after hearing a few people raving and shouting about it. You can find this place in side of the Caribbean Market on the corner of Caton & Flatbush. There is little to no parking. Upon entering I realized I was in sort of a flea market. There are several vendors in there selling oils, cultural attire, etc. BunNun is also next to several other small to go places. The seating area is cafeteria style. Seating is for all of the restaurants to share. There were three young ladies working and one young man when I arrived. The girls who took my order were very nice. I learned that Tassot is not one of the meats served on a daily basis although it is on their big display menu. I also learned that you have a choice of sweet plantain or green plantain. I opted to get green plantains for the sandwiches. I g got one griot and one red snapper. On this day they were giving 2 free sliders (smaller bun nun sandwiches) so for those I got one jerk chicken slider and one griot both on green plantains. I did not get the onions or sauce on it, just red cabbage slaw and pikliz. Each one comes with salad accept for the sliders (as shown in the picture). The sandwiches and sliders are made to order which is good. And I appreciated that they used sticker labels so that you can identify which one is which. I was so stoked to try one, I did so in my car before pulling off. I chose the griot. Upon opening, I saw that the salad had no dressing, not even a house dressing. C'mon! The Griot sandwich was huge! I cut it in half and saw a lot of pieces with grèse. It gets very messy easily because once you bite into it, ingredients start falling out. I was not pleased at all. I am Haitian, and am fully aware of great tasting griot, perfectly fried BunNun, and exceptionally made pikliz and red cabbage slaw. This is was nothing to rave about. I taste tested the rest and was gwo fache. I mean seriously, the concept of these sandwiches is great! So the expectation is that they are great tasting too! And I'm not talking mediocre. The red snapper was salty as hell and the meat was hard. The jerk chicken was actually ok, very spicy in addition to the pikliz but I like spice and if you're ok with spice you'll like it too. I actually I would rather a slider than the sandwich. Also, I opted to have the sauce on the side just because you never know and the sauce is a no for me. Too bad I wasn't sold on the sandwiches but I'm glad I tried them so I won't have to again. Also note that they do take cash but it has to be exact change or you can pay with card.

Yelp
Amazing style of Caribbean dishes, unique choices style of plantain. Great service. Will be back!

Jerome D.

Yelp
I came while they were going to close, ( was a last minute decision to go ) , the server was nice and very patient. The food overall was good , tasted familiar, (tastes like "lakay") It was late the store was about to Close, I wouldn't say there was much lively ambiance, (apart for the chance to built a new playlist , with the fire songs ) , we were almost the only ones around, I say if you are looking to experience much more, dont be like me and go earlier, maybe your experience will be a lot more.

Kiki P.

Yelp
The ambiance here was amazing, It was my first time going to the central Caribbean market place and decided to give this place a try. The staff was friendly and had patience with my indecisiveness. I had the griot sandwich, passion fruit lemonade and the sweet plantain bread pudding. All of it was delicious and reminded me of the Caribbean. I definitely would recommend!

Xenia M.

Yelp
Bunnan surely lives up to the hype! I was so happy to see that every item is made fresh to order. I got the griot nachos which I highly recommend! Griot was tender and full of flavor. The homemade lemonade was also tasty but pricey. Overall I had a great experience. Glad to see Haitian cuisine highlighted to the world like this!

Amanda J.

Yelp
I've been following BunNan on Instagram for a bit. On my recent visit to Brooklyn, I knew I had to visit. I went out my way to visit, actually. And... IT WAS SO WORTH IT. I got the griyo plantain sandwich. I am not sure what all was on it, but holy moly. It was absolutely delicious!!!!!!! Like.... SOOOOOO flavorful. I was very impressed, and I'm wishing I could go back as I type this. Service was quick, and while you order at a counter, there is seating nearby as well as outside, if I recall. The location is among other food stalls, and it took me a second to find, but no biggie. If you're at all considering visiting, get going!!

Yelp
Bunnan BK is hands down one of the best Haitian restaurants I've been too. As a Haitian myself, the thought of creating a sandwich out of Bunnan (Plantain in Haitian Crole) with serval types of meats and fishes have never came across my mind and it's truly mind blowing how a chef could combine Plantains and Meats with additional toppings to create such a divine sandwich! Atmosphere: The atmosphere of Bunnan is a chill modern like Cafe type of scenery. The area is more of like a big food court with other surrounding restaurants with tables and chairs in the area. It's a pretty cool zone to be seated in. Service: Greeted by the cashier -- The service was really nice! My aunt had some questions about how the food was prepared and if she could have her food done a certain way and the cashier was super friendly and polite with her. It's nice seeing great customer service when it comes to people who are picky with certain aspects of their food. When I was also asking a question about our drinks (Prior to the meal being ready) she even offered to make our drinks first before the meal . I quickly assured her to take her time and not to worry about it! I wish I got our cashiers name but she was a really polite Spanish/American woman with medium length hair and tattoos her attitude was a 5/5! [5/5] Food: The food was so delicious! Me and my aunt have been dying to try the food ever since I saw it on my instagram feed a few months ago and it was definitely worth the wait! - I ordered the Bunan Griot (PORK) ($15) Sandwich and when I tell you it was worth it.. It. Was. Worth. It. The Plantain was so crispy! So crunchy! So Savory! The sandwich was absolutely delicious it left my taste buds wanting more and more. Not to mention they give you a lot of griot on a sandwich makes it so worth the price. I seriously wish I took a picture of the insides because it was so delicious and looked amazing. The sandwich also came with a small salad, and some Piklis sauce. The sauce was extremely delicious and I poured some on my sandwich and salad. - My Aunt ordered the Jerk Chicken Griot ($15) and she claims it was very delectable. There was a perfect amount of spice, the chicken was very tasty, and the piklis sauce was definitely the icing on the top of the cake. She did say the chicken was just slightly dry but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal as she still enjoyed every bite she took. - Passion Fruit Lemonade ($6) This refresher was so delicious! It was cold and tasty! Definitely something you should try while you're here! The passionfruit really clashes well with the lemonade causing a great mixture!! Overall [5/5] As a Haitian I must say this is one of the best if not the best Haitian owned restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food, the atmosphere, the service.. everything is just so good and I love supporting my own people when it comes down to business. Me and my aunt loved this place so much and would definitely encourage people from all nationalities to try this Haitian Cuisine! .

Yelp
Delicious fresh plantain, fast service and amazing drinks. I was thrilled to have both a sweet and a green plantain sandwich and even vegan items! They're in Smorasburg in 2 locations every weekend too

Glenn C.

Yelp
This place was selling their Haitian grub during the Atlantic Antic. They sell stuff made with fried plantains (or as they would say bannann peze.) Unfortunately for them it was raining but I definitely enjoyed what I ordered. Friendly people. I ordered a bannann peze sandwich with griot (or fried pork.) The sandwich also came with caramelized onions, red cabbage slaw, pikliz (a pickled veggie and hot pepper relish) as well as an unspecified sauce. It was $15 and there was also options for jerk chicken and mushrooms at the same price along with red snapper for $20. They offer it as a sandwich, boat, fries, or nachos. There was also a passion fruit lemonade (for $6) and bottled water. They also had weekly specials advertised including goat tassot (or fried goat) on Saturday. The griot was very juicy compared to other spots. I would have liked a bit more of the fully fried pieces to add some texture but it was still delicious and I think it was crunchy enough from the plantain alone. The caramelized onions added some sweetness and the slaw added some crunch. The pikliz could have been a bit hotter but perhaps it mixing with the light sauce made it a bit less hot. Tasty sandwich. Would have again. Note from review reply- Still delicious even without the high heat btw. Thanks for the comment. I understand it needs to be balanced. I like habaneros and scotch bonnets unlike many others. Maybe offer extra pikliz or something? Unsure if that's the case at their original location.

Geraldine E.

Yelp
On Labor Day Bunnan was at the West Indian Parkway and I had to try. They have a location Flatbush Central Caribbean Marketplace. This succulent Haitian plantain griot sandwich was absolutely delicious. The griot was juicy. The plantain was made perfect and that pikliz was a nice addition to add a little heat to it. It also had cabbage as well. This sandwich was pretty big in size. I can't wait to try the other meats.

Roro B.

Yelp
Nah imma need more stars for this one lol. First off I've been eyeing this place ever since it came across my Instagram page. So today was the best day to see what the deal is. I had the jerk chicken and I don't do jerk but I did it today!!!!. This sandwich is plentiful a whole meal with the right amount of everything!!!. Then I had the passion fruit Lemonade and let's just say if they sold it by the gallon they'd be rich lol. But seriously do yourself a favor and stop by and get you something good good to eat cause baby this is it. I'll be back real soon!!!!

Keshia C.

Yelp
Pretty good and filling. They were very accommodating as I asked the the mushroom to be taken out (don't like it). Very good and will try again

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Food is so good, I have no problem driving from Suffolk County, Long Island to Brooklyn... in traffic. The goat sandwich is my favorite but I have eaten every iteration of the green bunnan sandwich and they all are delicioussssss! Please do yourself a favor and go order something. Next on my list are the plantain tacos...

Shari H.

Yelp
I've heard great things about this spot so I was happy to try them out. They are located inside the Flatbush Central Market. The set up is nice. You see them making the food right in front of you. The staff was really nice and informative. I even met the owner Nadege was also there. I ordered the griot-pork sandwich which was $12 and came with caramelized onions, red cabbage Slaw, pikliz and sauce. The griot is housed between 2 plantains. The sandwich is on point and flavorful and huge! The pickliz has a nice heat to it. I would order this again due to the price, size and flavor. My friend ordered the passion fruit Lemonade and the jerk chicken sandwhich. She said the Lemonade was light and refreshing. The menu also has red snapper and mushroom which can be in a Sandwhich or Nachos.

Shana H.

Yelp
My friend was in town and we were looking for a new place to try. I was slightly craving plantains. I searched and found this location. It happens to be 5 minutes from where we were, the menu looked good so we decided to go. This is located in a Caribbean food hall. The stand inside looked non descrpit but we gave it a chance. Paris the host was so kind and happy to help us choose what to eat. She was pleasant and patient with us while we decided. We ordered and waited. When we got our order the presentation was everything. Even the boxes our food can't in were labeled to perfection! I got the sampler of two goat sliders and two pork sliders. My sister and friend got the snapper sandwiches. We all chose green plantains. The sandwiches and sliders were TO DIE!! They were sooo delicious. The portions were large and they were bursting with flavor. Ed went yesterday and I'm already planning my trip back. Fantastic!!! 5 stars for service, presentation and quality and quantity.

Krystalyn A.

Yelp
How'd I end up at Bunnan?? I ordered from Bunnan after having had my first plantain sandwich at another establishment. I ordered a fish plantain sandwich and told a friend about the concept and she mentioned that Bunnan had them as well - not sure which company came out with it first. The other establishment used swai fillet, while Bunnan uses red snapper. I was told by a friend that red snapper was a more elite fish, but I honestly think the sauces make or break the overall taste. I appreciated the creativity of the aesthetics of the food and thought the foods tasted pretty good.

Fabiola F.

Yelp
Finally made it to BUNNAN!!! and I was DELIGHTED!!! the food is EXCELLENT, SO DELICIOUS . I had Griot Plantain Sandwich soooo yummy . It's 2 large pressed fried Plantains filled with Griot ( Haitian fried pork) very well seasoned, juicy, tender, no bones with caramelized onions, red cabbage slaw(not sweet, slightly acidic), Pikliz, and their special house sauce. And also their Passion fruit Lemonade, very refreshing with, the perfect amount of sweetness. The service was quick and friendly. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. PS: M-F if you get there before 4pm you pay $10 instead of $15 for the sandwiches, you're welcome

Nat A.

Yelp
Just wow, that red snapper snaps! Get the sandwich if you want all savory. Get the boat for that sweet and savory duo. Soooo good!

Danielle M.

Yelp
Yes, Yes and more yesss! This place gets an A+. The spices, the flavors, the plantain bun, the tangy slaw! I want to eat this everyday (my bank account would be crying though bc it's not cheap) but definitely worth the splurge for lunch here and there. I will definitely be back! As you can see from my photo, I was definitely satisfied! Only thing to note is that it is a little hard to find. Thankfully the gentleman came outside to greet me and help me find the restaurant but the food 10/10!

Chelly L.

Yelp
OMG BunNan is literally the perfect combination of texture, spice, sweet and savory...I travel from Coney Island (South Brooklyn) to Flatbush just for BunNan weekly sometimes! My mains are either the sweet plantain boat with Tassot or Griot (I alternate) or the fried plantain sandwich with griot!! Today I got the Plantain Nachos with Griot, TWO sweet plantain boats with Tassot and a passion fruit lemonade (yes I always buy extra for later )and OMG everything is fresh, cooked in front of you and flavor you'd never imagine, seriously!!! To top it off the staff is always so friendly, patient and welcoming!! Get to BunNan NOWWWW!!!

Guerline E.

Yelp
Bunnan has become my favorite place to get my plantain meal. I love there is a variety and options available for meat lovers or vegan. The different choices makes it the #1 place to dine alone or with friends.

Fabienne M.

Yelp
Had a break for lunch and this was close by plus I wanted a taste of my native food. I was the first customer of the day and it was my first time visiting this establishment I was very excited and it definitely fed my soul. I had the plantain griot sandwich which consists of fried pork, cabbage, spicy slaw, and fried green plantain. I'm not crazy about green plantains but this want too bad. Server was very pleasant and welcoming giving me details on was to get and the special. Inside was like a food court style so there are places to sit and enjoy your food as well as restrooms and charging areas.

Christina M.

Yelp
As a Haitian young women it is hard to not rate this place a 5. I struggled to rate them a 4 and here is why... Former patrons have set the tone for what to expect as far a flavors they were really BAM BOOM- that's a great thing. But for all the postings online- I found it difficult to find the restaurant. It's like hiding in the back of some small mini mall. I drove from Queens AND managed to park on Flatbush (I used to live in Brooklyn for ten years). It took me like 15 minutes to figure it out which didn't feel fun. Anyway found it. Expressed my relief and was greeted, lol by a pleasant gentleman who was peeling plantains with a woman. I start placing my order and pull my card to pay and he gets a phone call and everything was on pause. I was stuck there playing hot foot holding my card for like 5 minutes. Then he realized we are mid order in person and you're mid order on the phone... I was supremely patient. He never got off of the phone and I felt compelled to walk away. I took a quick tour of the space and when I returned like 5 minutes later my order was ready. The customer service needs a little work but the place is clean and the food taste great. I think it's pricey. Griot and Plantains and not expensive foods so I was surprised to find a Sandwich & Lemonade were over $22. It was filling and hard to pick up. The griot wasn't as crunchy as I would have liked. It came with a little salad and balsamic vinaigrette that I mistook for au jus and poured it in my sandwich like a fool. The food STILL was good! I would recommend but I am not sure I would go on that wild goose chase again. There is a place in Lower East side they sell "patacon" it reminds me of that some how.

renje g.

Yelp
- fast service - friendly service - food is good - inventive plantain sandwich - Im told the snapper is good - griot is alright - i cant wait to try the boat - lemonade is sweet, but good with ice - if there were a way to make sure this place were open,. that would be great I have attended at least three other times during 'opening hours' only to find the place locked up and closed

Aviut R.

Yelp
I got the griot fries at Bunnan and it was so tasty! The atmosphere of the Flatbush Market food hall is delightful. So it really breaks the 5 star scale. Everyone was very friendly. Market also has events/workshop space. It's decorated so beautifully and I love that it so community orientated. I hope it stays this way. As for Bunnan, staff is very friendly. They kindly answered all my questions about their menu and I finally decided on the fries. The plate is rather big. I'm taking more than half home but it's a good price for the amount and flavor you get. The pork is delicious and the sweet plantain fries are perfectly sweet. Also their passion fruit lemonade is very refreshing. I loved the whole experience. I'm positive I'll be returning to try more!

Shawanna W.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to visit BunNan and they did not disappoint. I'm not vegetarian but I'm currently refraining from eating meat so I had the mushroom sandwich and it was delicious. It was so flavorful. If I was this impressed by a veggie sandwich I can't imagine how good the meat selections must be. I'll definitely be back to try them as soon as I have a chance.

Yelp
Loaded mushroom fries! Five stars for Taste, texture, and presentation! My third tasting from BunNan's sinful menu selections! Whoever came up with this merger of tasty crisp plantain fries alongside well seasoned chopped mushrooms, a unique red cabbage slaw, caramelized onions, bright, fiery pikliz, delicious sauce; all beautifully chopped and presented ("we eat with our eyes") deserves 5 Michelin Stars! It was impossible not to finish it all despite feeling full to bursting! The perfect 'heat' cleared my sinuses and left a lingering delicious umami taste on my palate. Go get you some BunNan or do what I did - peruse the menu, let the mouth-watering commence and wait by your door!

Yelp
Visited BunNan today with my husband who loves anything Plantain. This restaurant is located in Flatbush Central where the decor is so warm, bright, authentic to caribbean culture. We ordered plantain fries, griot nachos and passionfruit lemonade. The service was great , food prepared to order. It was fresh, plantain nachos crispy, flavors are spice all married together well. We'll definitely be back . I got my eyes and taste buds on that SNAPPER ! Top Tier Black woman owned business.

Yelp
I come to this restaurant all the time. I get the same thing everytime i come. X I get oxtail rice and beans cabbage and a spoonful of Mac and cheese and a stew chicken rice and beans with cabbage. This usually cost approximately 31 dollars. Yesterday I only got one plate the one with Mac and cheese with a half piece of salmon the woman at the counter said 42 dollars I'm like wtf she said the half piece of salmon Is 14 dollars o said take that mf off the plate. Now I'm paying 31 for on plate of food so I'm done with them.

Yelp
Been wanting to come to this Caribbean marketplace since it opened and soo glad to finally make the trip! "Bunnan" is Haitian creole for plantains, which is a staple in most Caribbean homes. As a Haitian-American I'm very particular about where I get my Haitian food but BunNan definitely lived up to the hype! Both the plantain sandwich and plantain boat were both delicious. The sandwich uses the green plantains, while the boat utilizes the riper yellow plantains giving you a sweeter option. My friend and myself both went with the red snapper and it was so so good. The flavors, the presentation, the temperature, the textures.. it was all perfect! When we got there at the end of the day we had to wait for them to fry up some more plantains since they had a busy day, but the 15 min wait was definitely worth it. There's plenty of space to sit or you can walk around and visit other vendors. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
We came out on Fritay Friday for a fritay box & the griot was amazing. Incredibly moist & a large portion. I did not like the akra very much, but the rest of the food was great. The griot sandwich is also tasty. The toppings provide a great mix of flavors. The place recently opened & is not so busy, so it did take some time for us to get our food, as the food was made fresh to order & there were only 2 people working there. The marketplace is nice, though, so we enjoyed browsing while we waited.

Yelp
I love plantains -- green and yellow! So when I heard that Chef Nadege Fleurimond was opening this eatery in the heart of Brooklyn, I could not wait. The menu spoke to me. Plantain nachos and sandwiches....WHAT? Yes, please! There were options for everyone -- griot/pork, jerk chicken, red snapper, or mushroom. I went for the jerk chicken nachos + passion fruit lemonade, which was edible art and a sensory experience. Every bite was a taste of home that left me speechless. The combination of fresh ingredients, textures, and spices was so DAMN good. The jerk chicken, crisp plantain chips, caramelized onions, red cabbage, pikliz, and the sauce was mmmm...bon bagay net! The heat from the jerk chicken was spot on and paired nicely with the lemonade, which was refreshing. Why settle for the ordinary when you can try the extraordinary? This is the real deal. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you. BunNan has been open for only two months and I have already been twice while raving about their food to everybody. Now that they're open full-time, all bets are off. I will be a regular customer and am looking forward to trying both the staple menu items and the plantain-made specials -- boats, waffles, lasagna, and fries. Plantain lovers across the African, Caribbean and Latin Diaspora unite at our newest hotspot where it's plantain e'rthing!

Yelp
Had this at Prospect Park yesterday and it was soo filling and delicious!! The sauces were amazing and it brought everything together in that sandwich. I wish I took a picture of it before I devoured it in the park.
