"I don't want none unless, well you get the idea. Recently opened Bunsmith has quickly become a neighborhood favorite. They offer a great selection of asian-inspired steamed bao buns (with the option to also put the contents in a rice bowl if buns aren't your style) in a modern and cozy environment that doesn't feel presumptuous. Their menu is simple but effective, and their service is always prompt and friendly. Grab a few buns and an Orion Japanese beer and enjoy." - Kyle & Annie Turman

"Bunsmith is a Korean spot in Crown Heights that specializes in buns. We especially like the ones with fried chicken and pork jowl, and, depending on much we’ve had to drink we occasionally get the one with spam and cookie butter (which sounds overwhelming, but is, in fact, delicious). There are also a bunch of rice bowls if you want something a little more substantial, and there’s a pretty good beer selection as well. Stop by for a solo meal on a weeknight, sit at the bar, and have a meal that’ll probably cost you less than $20." - Bryan Kim

Pretty delicious spot with small and large plates, some traditional and cray flavors, and good cocktails. Had a cookie dough-SPAM bun and it was pretty good. Some choice veggie options and also some savory meaty flavors. Worth the trip.

Everything was so tasty! The fried cauliflower nuggets are a treat, the tofu lettuce wraps are amazing, and the buns are great. I thought the beef one had great texture but could do with a more interesting sauce, and the tofu/mushroom one was delish.

If you excepting to get same food as they have on Dekalb market , so gonna get bit disappointed. The atmosphere and staff is good. But we ordered a lot food expecting to get same food as we were getting in other location, quality of food was poor and taste of it was same.

So, this place has a laid-back, cozy vibe and offers some pretty unique and tasty food options. I had two buns (spicy Korean fried chicken and jackfruit) as well as the sticky fries. Everything came out quick and the service was friendly. All the food was very good, with the best and most unique being the jackfruit bun. Their menu lists a "spam and cookie butter bun", which I would be curious to try next time! One quick note: ordering two buns and fries, after tax and tip, set me back twenty bucks. Certainly won't break the bank, but I'm not sure it fits in the "cheap eats" category (which is how I found Bunsmith in the first place), either. Still, this is a cool place with good food, and I would come here again.

Bunsmith has become a regular spot for us. They have really delicious vegan options and a great vibe. My favorites are the tofu shiitake bun and sticky fries (especially with a generous drizzle of the table sauce), but you can't order anything bad here, all the food and cocktails are amazing. If you're trying to reduce your waste, know this place is a paper napkins/disposable chopsticks/toothpicks joint: best to bring your resuables! However water is refilled, cups and dishware are reusable, and not a straw in sight.

Had much potential but a disappointing experience. Cool interior design and tasty menu but our food came out cold. When we let the waitstaff know the reaction was surprising, no apology and hesitancy about taking it back to the kitchen. When the food came back the second time it was better - buns hot (fried chicken, tasty) and calamari warmer but not hot.

Pretty decent food. Good atmosphere. I would definitely give it another try.

Totally amazing buns- I recommend the spicy Korean Fried Chicken bun. You can’t go wrong with any of the food. The mural up front is pretty cool.
