The 18 Best Restaurants In Margate - London - The Infatuation

"A late lunch on Buoy And Oyster’s beachfront terrace is our idea of an afternoon well spent. Sip on tangy lemonade while surrounded by greenery—foliage hangs from the ceiling and the wicker chairs make it feel like summer even when it’s not. The dining room is spacious, with plenty of natural light and an airy energy that encourages lingering. But the view of the sand and beyond is the real USP. The Maldon rock oysters are a good move, as is one of the seafood platters to share. Snack on calamari while you stare out to the sea—and take it from us, you’ll want to keep the drinks coming until sunset." - Jake Oliver, Daisy Meager, Sinead Cranna, Rianne Shlebak

Margate’s Best Restaurants for Sunny Margate Weather in Kent, England | Eater London

"The full name for this little spot, according to Google, is: Buoy and Oyster: Seafront seafood restaurant and cocktail bar overlooking the beach in Margate. In other words: everything one wants on a day trip or weekend away in the town. Expertly cooked fresh seafood, assembled in modern, simple ways, such as in a dish of skate wing with caper butter and samphire; and in traditional formats, such as with its classic fish, chips, and mushy peas; or simply a platter of fresh shellfish over ice, with a bottle of Tabasco and some shallot vinegar." - Adam Coghlan

Google
Fantastic celebration meal with family (group of 6), we had the Xmas menu and it was amazing, no dry turkey or scrimping here. Huge delicious prawn cocktail, the most perfectly cooked turkey & the sticky toffee pudding was to die for! The cheese board most generous ever. Service was superb, no rushing and atmosphere relaxed and fun. Well done guys ❤️

Google
Chose the Buoy and Oyster for my birthday meal, and as always it didn’t disappoint. Food and drinks were lovely. Staff were very welcoming. They also found it was my birthday through conversation, and then gave me a special birthday dessert and a glass of fizz! Lovely atmosphere as well.

This was our dinner in Margate before heading back to London ! We were eager to try the best places in Margate, and we ended this culinary day trip with a bang! This place is magnificent, the food is incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, cooked to perfection, plus all of it is done in a quirky, cool, very tasty way! Let me explain: the “ridiculous Bloody Mary “ is not just a cocktail, it is a starter, and a big one too! It has a prawn, bacon, a big olive, and more ! It is delicious and I do not even like Bloody Mary that much, but this was incredible! We also had a delicious prawn cocktail that was just perfect ! We followed that with a fisherman’s board, 1 each. We chose a great Chablis, which was the perfect companion to the most perfect ending to a gorgeous day out ! A special mention to the staff, from the very kind manager that let us start our dinner a bit earlier than the time we had originally booked, 20.15, to the waitress who really looked after us throughout the meal, and everybody else we interacted with. Such a warm, nice device is very rare to find, especially when the place is heaving with people. The whole experience was very special, the food is delicious, we were extremely happy. A gem of a place that needs to be visited again and again. Thank you guys you are really fantastic !

Google
Amazing, absolutely loved it here! Seafood & fish were some of the best, very fresh and delicious. Great choice of drinks. Terrace has a lovely view (can be a chilly, but they have blankets!) Service was also really great.

Google
Bit late in posting, went first Monday of Sep. A really lovely restaurant, even on a Monday evening, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were all friendly & warm. Most importantly, everything we ordered was available. The food was fresh and not overly seasoned-my fav was the carpaccio. The only moan was the lobster and squid were a little overcooked. Highly recommend.

Google
Fussy eater and table of 14 and children so we were undecided if to order roast as a seafood bar. But wow it did not disappoint! Great portion for big eaters and cooked to perfection. The throwback cocktail, felt more like bottomless prawns and the waitress was very attentive! Maldon oysters, children’s mussels were all delicious. Great visit for all ages and families! Thank you so much! Will be returning!

Google
Service was amazing, very friendly. Food was unique, fresh, and beautifully presented. Massive thank you to Craig who is clearly an outstanding chef, and his crew for an outstanding meal overlooking the sea for sunset. Will definitely be back and will be recommending

I had such a lovely experience at this seafood spot yesterday! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by every member of staff, which set the tone for a fantastic meal. The food was absolutely excellent — fresh, and beautifully presented. What truly made the visit special was the outstanding service from Issy. She went above and beyond to make myself and my niece feel welcome, She even moved us to a table by the terrace so we could enjoy a better view — such a thoughtful gesture that made our meal even more memorable. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the genuinely caring service. Thank you, Issy, for making our visit so special!

Yelp
Cold food, cold service, cold restaurant. What food that was edible and not sent back wasn't nice. It was as if they just bought it all frozen from Brake Brothers and dished it out as finer dining. You're better off going to the chippy and sitting on the beach. It will be better food, warm, cheaper and it will be warmer on the beach! Ph not forgetting the 12.5% service charge!! Not the place it used to be. They've really taken their eye off the ball here.

Yelp
The attention to detail in the decor, service and cuisine are notable. Each dish arrived looking like a work of art and tasting like the Chef is striving toward a Michelin star. The halibut with cockles, kale and fluffy cauliflower puree had exquisite flavor and balance. The skin on the halibut was perfectly crisp in contrast to the flakiness of the halibut. The wine list has been carefully chosen, too! We're planning to return in the summer with our family.
