De Burgemeester

"A contemporary restaurant in Linschoten’s old town hall, run by an ambitious team led by chef Spruijt. His excellent technique and keen eye for top - quality produce is evident in the dishes. The variety of tastes and textures is playful, intriguing and even more delicious in combination with the sommelier’s choices." - Michelin Inspector

We really enjoyed the food! The whole experience was very enjoyable and pleasant. There was a diversity of food and tastes and everything was perfectly executed and perfectly balanced. The only dish we didn’t liked was the main course of the lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the tomatoes sauce was very nice, but all the other elements on the plate wasn’t to our taste- too sour or too salty and not balanced. But maybe it’s a matter of preference. We will definitely come back! Thanks for a great experience!

We came to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary, and it was a surprise from my husband. The food was amazing, with the olive being my favorite! I enjoy having coffee with my desserts, and two members of staff (who worked smoothly and effortlessly) asked me, and I specifically requested it with, not after. Unfortunately, the coffee never arrived until I mentioned it. It was perfect before this oversight. Despite that, I would still come back and highly recommend the place.

Chef Sander and his team visited our house and provided an amazing culinary evening with a 7 course dinner plus wine pairing. The food from start to finish was of a fantastic level, the preparation, different textures, unusual flavours and presentation all matched. We had 2 completely different menus (1 vegetarian with food intolerances) with matching wines from unusual areas. It was such a special experience to have a team that works at such a level in our own home, our own kitchen. Definitely recommend it! Thank you.

Very well presented and tasty food. Wine pairing made me discover some very good new type of wine. Michelin star well deserved

In the beautifull cozy village of Linschoten, I had the pleasure to take-away a 10-course meal for 5 persons to celebrate my father’s birtday. The classiness of this fine looking restaurant started allready at the entrance with the hand-desinfectant having a very luxurious smell as if rubbing ur hands with premium wine. I was warmly welcomed by the staff, and received help with moving the 6 boxes to my car. All boxes were nicely labeled, sorted and prepped without smears or collapsed meals. It was impressive yet easy to set up at home. Sauces were seperated and described to which course they belonged. A very intuitive manual was provided. The meals were fresh and incredibly well prepared judging by overall presentation/appearance, selection of ingredients and texture/mouthfeel. Most of the flavours were very balanced, rich and intersting. To give you a few examples: Starting with the smooth beeftartare and crunchy radish being neutrally flavoured but enhanced by the salted kick of the ponzu sauce (pic.7) was excellent. Another fave was the poulpo (pic.3), which was very well prepared, submerged in a mild green curry not too overwhelming and contained a subtle hint of basil which made it delicate. The veal cheek was perfectly tender (pic.5) slightly oversalted but nonetheless impressively savoury. Portion size and number of courses for me was perfect. At first sight one might think the meals are too small but after a few courses I was satisfied to notice it was all quite filling. In all, I much enjoyed the tasty and excellently prepared dinner by De Burgemeester in Linschoten. Considering also how difficult it is to provide luxuous food via Take-Away, not to mention all the packaging (which thankfully was provided with “durable guaranteed” labels). I think that De Burgermeester successfully achieved to bring the michelin star to our home dinnertable. Thank you for contributing to speciallness of my father’s birthday :) PS: like mentioned in a previous review, we also warmed our dishes Au bain-marie style which turned out very successfully

UPDATE 2022: So, this is a awkward review. I’ve been here a few times over the years. In the past with my very western ex wife. In the past, wow, amazing. Super food, super service. Always felt special and well taken care of. This time. Welcomed very warmly, very nice service, amazing food. Really, amazing. Everything is just as I remember. I’m super happy talking with my wife (not western) and we are already planning our next visit. We have desert and ….. nothing. No one comes anymore. People walk around. Nothing for us. An hour passes and we can finally pay and leave. Also, what’s a shame is that I really wanted to see if they had some more wine I could try and yeah, was really keen but yeah, nope. Not interested in us. I complain, explain how we are left alone for the last hour. They are happy to take our 460 euros for the meal and wine and yeah, they hope they can make it better next time. So for most in the area, it’s fine I guess, it’s unlikely you both you non western (I’m also part Māori so it makes me look a bit different). I’m not sure we will go back, they say they will make it better but why should we pay for their attempt? Need to think about it

Food was very interesting with a creative chef that combines interesting flavours. There are intriguing techniques used during the preparation and the preparation is a sight to behold.
