Burger King Follows Impossible Burger With Plant-Based Chicken Nuggets - Eater

"Burger King, which introduced Impossible Whoppers nationwide in 2019 — and faced controversy after one New York store actually served beef patties in place of the vegetarian option (oops) — is the first fast food chain introducing diners to Impossible Foods’ meatless nuggets." - Elazar Sontag

Yelp
I'm surprised Burger King still exists. It's certainly not the King, Prince, or even a royal subject these days. Finding a good Burger King is HARD; I know of only two decent ones, one in Brooklyn and another in East Harlem. That's it. But I stayed hopeful when I placed a mobile order at the Fulton location. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The burger wasn't flame-broiled or hot, which is the whole point of Burger King's appeal. Many locations seem to open without sticking to the original formula; "have it your way" should mean quality and consistency. Instead it's "have it however I give it to you". The service was slow, the ice machine was broken, and the restaurant had a dingy vibe. I won't be back. The quest for a good Burger King continues...

Yelp
Kind women workers. inside is very old 80s styles. (A bit dark....) enough space for everyone. All the drinks are self-service. use the app to get offers. one bathroom is inside.

Yelp
You all know I review chains, that are either exceptional or quite the opposite. DO NOT GO HERE. GO TO ANOTHER FAST FOOD OR BK LOCATION. Sadly, this is literally the worst BK I have ever been to and it's purely based off safety and hygiene, which I find important enough to review so others can avoid it. Ordered online/mobile order for croissant egg sando and biscuit egg sando, probably two of their popular items. I ordered it well before their lunch time started mind you. When I got there, the order was not ready, which was surprising. Then, Magdalen (at the front looked at my phone order), went to the back to grab the sausage patties (with her bare hands guys, her uncovered, ungloved bare hands),now you see why I'm reviewing this. So you can avoid it at all costs due to pure hygiene issues. That is not sanitary, we are still in the middle of a pandemic FYI. It was awful. Safety-this place was not safe. end of story. Food-after all this, they gave me the wrong order. Yeah, not returning here. Told Minha about this and she said she doesn't serve bfast, which doesn't even make sense because someone who came after me ordered a bfast meal 4 for $4 at 10.37am. So either she is lying or you decide. But it's worth mentioning. If you are smart, you will avoid this BK and go find yourself one on Broadway, it is a little walk-15 min, but I assure you the experience there will be better. OR go to mcds, which also feels unsafe but at least their hygiene seems sanitary and only a 5 min walk from here. Alternatively , Wendy's is also close. You decide, but just remember - magdalens hands touch every single persons money as she uses the register plus every other thing she touches.

Yelp
I visited this Burger King Sunday, March 24, around 11:00 AM. I ordered an early burger meal and sat in one of the booths to enjoy it. A loudly talking homeless man sat down in the booth next to me and harrassed me. He wanted me to go but to leave my lunch, which cost me $16.00, behind for him. Since he seemed a bit unhinged, I left but I took my lunch with me. At no time during my encounter with this highly unpleasant individual did the staff there intervene. A very unsafe location for sure.

Yelp
Long lunch lines everywhere as that is Financial District and budget conscious which pegs fast food for lunch. I usually order the original crispy chicken sandwich $5.99 and this time was a small side of onion rings $2.59. The queue moves moderately and orderly. The cashier server who took my order was being pushy to sell me other products or combos when my mind was set on one particular item. Orders are fulfilled by calling out order numbers for pickup. BK's direct competition is Chick-fil-A which is one block away on the same street and their line spews out the door consistency at all times of the day everyday. Store #17871

Yelp
Disclaimer: Burger King is in the midst of the 1 cent Whopper deal when you order from mobile near a McDonald's. That may explain the current state of affairs. Service here is currently very slow and even more chaotic and confusing. Orders come in 10 minutes after you place them. More than 30 people stand in a sweaty, stinky mass waiting for their numbers to be called. You don't know what's going on and neither do the employees. That's what you can expect from this BK at this particular time.

Yelp
Of all the fast food chains on Fulton street, this dark, filthy, unwelcoming Burger King is the worst. It lurks like a bat cave underneath years-old scaffolding, trash lining its entrance, a refuge for nodding off patrons opening and closing its doors. The signage is old and crusty. The windows are tinted grey with street soot. When will someone help this ailing beast and put it out of its misery?

Yelp
Not the best place to eat or order a veggie burger. When I ordered a veggie burger I waited for 10 minutes for it. Not the best customer service at the cashiers. Many of the staff speak too softly and I can hardly understand at times what they say. So I ask the staff to speak louder. It doesn't help when the noise surrounds and absorbs words. No say this place is your typical fast food place. Sometimes at lunch time the line goes to the middle of the dining area. I go here from time to time. Not the best. I give this place 2 stars for the location and convenience.

Yelp
I can honestly say as much as I like Burger King - I will NEVER go back to this one. Was in town visiting and decided to take a few people here. We were told to go upstairs to get seated. The host sat us - and nobody ever came back to check on us again. I spoke to a server who took the order of the two tables beside us that were sat after us and told her we needed help and with much attitude she said "hold On a minute" - I understand being busy - I am a restaurant manager myself......but they all need some coaching in customer service! After about 3 minutes we got up and left. Nobody asked us what was wrong or why we were leaving or anything. These folks could learn a lot of how the south has such great hospitality!

Yelp
This place doesn't look clean. I bought 2 burgers and I did not feel well on my stomach.

Yelp
I love burger king! So yummy. The new chicken tenders are SO crispy. French fries are good too. Bk is an awesome place. Definitely recommend. I think they have some vegan things too, well obviously french fries.

Yelp
#Came for the Mac 'n Cheetos. #Great place for drunk people to pass out face down on the tables. ...if I can give you an etiquette tip, don't be a douche and take selfies with these passed out people. It's not that funny. #idiot

Yelp
Burger King. Inefficient line, with cashiers that were fumbling around, and people in the back going back and forth on custom orders and specifics. It was quite a wait as people got their orders in all different fashion, some coming up multiple times to get different parts as they waited. And the credit card machine was down... in this day and age, that's tantamount to telling your clients that carry little to no cash that you don't want to serve them. Bad form. Get that fixed, that's a drain right there. But it is cheap, and lots of specials plastered all over the front windows. Hard to keep all of them straight. Good thing, the place was clean. Very clean, all things considering. And a cop at the door just hanging out. The space was huge, too - even with the rush of people at dinner.

Alan P.

Yelp
I got doubled charged on my credit card for one bill. The burger king Cashier told me that the charge didn't go through the first time I swiped and I had to swipe my card again to make the payment . Now I have an extra charge on my credit card. Called the phone number +1 212-566-5132 and no one answered. I want my money back :(

Yelp
I know that BK kind of lost some of its popularity in the last years. But for me to come here is bringing a childhood memory. Something about the taste. It has been a while, and I used to be a regular here. But since last time I came to Burger King not a lot changed, and this is a good thing. Got my good old chicken sandwich that got me that taste I thought I forgot. So Burger King, keep being so good.

Yelp
This location is just as good as any other Burger King I've ever been to. Customer service was excellent and although the place was very busy I was able to get in and out fast.

Yelp
Pretty hectic Burger King. This location is nice and clean with minimal crack heads inside. Lol. Only got this horse meat bcuz I used a buy one get one free Whopper coupon from the app.

Yassaman N.

Yelp
Don't know this place has poor reviews but the food is honestly amazing and fresh lol. The interior is definitely depressing but the food made up for it. I was surprised the mozzarella sticks were so crispy and the fries
google avatar

Kaylee T.

Yelp
When I first visited this Burger King, I noticed how dim and shabby the place looked. It looked relatively old, and it was very crowded. Due to the poor interior, I did have some low expectations on the food. To my surprise, the food was pretty decent and the employees were very humble. The inside itself was also very clean and sanitized which I enjoyed. A little tip for any future customers- if you plan on ordering, I'd probably recommend calling before arriving due to prevent crowding (especially due to the covid-19 situation).

Yelp
I was surprised at how disgusting this location was over the Thanksgiving week. I ordered the Whopper combo but the sandwich was very distasteful. The meat was not fully cooked and the bread was soggy. The Middle eastern worker had such a strong accent and was giving me a hard time. She act like she didn't understand English when I showed her the nasty mess that they wrapped and called a "Whopper!!" Beware!! So many homeless people were inside this location asking for money and doing whatever.. I could not believe that we were in the pandemic.. ? When I went to the bathroom it was also dirty like the tables in the seating area. I won't return!!

Yelp
Holy mother of God, the lines in this place are crazy. There should be a better way to organize this place. The line and the pic up line are situated awkwardly, makes no the experience, painful.

Breanna M.

Yelp
Just bad customer service Had an attitude because my order was messed up they changed it gave me the wrong thing AGAIN then got an attitude wit me because my food messed just don't come here tbh

Yelp
Ok let's be honest- in FiDi, things can get very pricey for your average Brooklyn girl. Three dollar Starbucks sandwich and coffees- that's an expensive, not to mention barely filling, breakfast. Pretty much you can't beat the combos here. Coffee, tatter tots, and ham egg bacon cheese croissant. For less than five dollars. They're so quick with it too. In less than ten minutes I was in and out. I also think they give extra tatter tots... Dunkin donuts definitely never gives me as much hash browns.. The croissant of course wasn't great but it's so much more filling and tastes comparable to the Starbucks sandwich. I didn't really notice the place itself but it's really spacious here- lots of room.

Yelp
Nasty bathrooms, we asked for toilet paper for bathroom and she said " I just put it in," and we go and she says she's gonna do it but when we go to leave one of the people with us went to use the bathroom and there was STILL NONE. On the way in an employee care out and there was stuff all over the floor and no toilet paper. She didn't wash her hands on the way out, they weren't busy. LAZY AND DISGUSTING IF I COULD GIVE 0 stars I would, never had to ask for toilet paper three times .
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Food was average. Hash browns weren't fresh, but the register employee was generous with the serving size. And she was the standout of my visit. Very friendly, knew the regular orders of her regulars, addressed everyone who came in, inquired about my area work (in the "let's see if this will be a regular" way), made nice small talk while we were waiting for my order to be filled; quite memorable and standout for the usual fast food encounter. And the kitchen staff were all waiting and watching the screens, jumping right on orders as they came through. Thumbs up!

Yelp
This is one of the fanciest Burger Kings I've ever been to (not that I make it a point of going to Burger King, but still). I stopped in with a friend because Shake Shack was swamped downtown and I really just wanted a cheap veggie burger (Burger King carries MorningStar veggie patties, and it's a brand I trust) and some fries. The cashiers and cooks are as can be expected in an average fast food chain - all business, zero customer service - but whatever, it's Burger King. I didn't go there to have my hand held; I went for super cheap, super oily options and a cold fountain soda. And they gave me exactly that. Does the veggie burger come with mayonnaise and ketchup? Yes. Is that an absolutely horrifying surprise to the kind of person looking to get a veggie burger at BK? Definitely. But I wiped that thing down and I ate it. Other than that, the seats (booths, high tables, etc.) were really nice and clean. Surrounded by pictures of skyscrapers and generally touristy New York icons, it's a perfectly mediocre place to have a fast lunch in the financial district.

Yelp
Hubby and I were lured in by the $1 flavored lattes. Sure, it's like a hot coffee milkshake, but it's only a dollar and DELICIOUS. 30 minute limit at a table when it's busy!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
If you want to see inefficiency of space at it's finest, enter here. Massive space with very little foot traffic. Still, 2 for $4 Whopper (yum-o!) or Big Fish (so good) days are nothing to scoff at. The real deal here are the $1 Double Cheeseboogers. I read that franchisees are actually suing BK because they're losing money on this: ~$0.55 to make the burger and the other half for overhead. Don't believe me? See for yourself: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/13/burger-king-franchisees-s_n_356360.html Too bad that tastes like crap...so I heard :)

Yelp
For a city Burger King, this is a pretty posh spot (not as fancy as the McDonald's that has the grand piano a few blocks away, but hey). I have found the service to be pleasant and efficient, and the bottomless fountain drinks sure quench that big-city thirst.

Ardella W.

Yelp
The trays are the worse, sticky, dirty and smelly. Looked around and say a worker pushy they trashed down in the dumpster using the trays. Ugh!!!!! Is that sanitary?
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
It's roomy and the line goes pretty quick. The food is set up nicely on the trays and there is a soda station for refills. I think my only problem is the manager. She is a small Asian woman that rules the kitchen by yelling and embarrassing her employees. She is a disgrace to the uniform and should be fired. She makes the atmosphere feel like a sweat shop with all of the ranting and yelling.

Ron G.

Yelp
Unlike the McDonald's in Penn station, Burger king served food that was what i ordered, wasn't a hazard to my life, and tasted good.
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
Service is slow like a tortoise. Prices are good though. The food on the other hand is still not that great. I find it to be too salty. Then again it is burger king
google avatar

Jing C.

Yelp
They forgot to give me salad dressing so now I have to eat salad with mayo and bbq. Hope I don't die from this
google avatar

Kristia B.

Yelp
Ordered a strawberry milkshake which was made very sloppily. The texture was way too thick. I mean, make a little effort towards customer satisfaction.
google avatar

Johnny D.

Yelp
Only get burgers here. Everything else sucks. It was little unkempt and the napkin dispenser was empty.
google avatar

Zach P.

Yelp
Probably one of the nicer Burger Kings I've been to in New York City. They have a good amount of seating and the place appears to be clean.

Edward D.

Yelp
I have stayed away from fast food for awhile except for an occasional breakfast sandwich and pizza. However, I decided to go with my wife to this Burger King for a quick late lunch this past Sunday around 2pm. It turned out to be one of the worst fast food experience of my life. The fries were the only decent part of the meal. The main items were actually pretty awful. The "crispy chicken" (not extra crispy) sandwich was small and way overcooked to the point of almost burnt (extra crispy would have been blackened and petrified). It also has a slightly spoiled taste to it. The fish sandwich was somewhat stale and unappetizing but more edible. The plain cheeseburger was as expected, small, flat, same as I remembered from the past but not as disappointing as the regular sized sandwiches. This will be the last time I will be coming here for a meal. I don't know if this is a problem with this location or all the Burger Kings but I will continue to avoid all of them after this unpleasant experience.
google avatar

Kristina P.

Yelp
Just from here. Well, the line was fast. But the food quality... They gave me a burn cheeseburger and too salt french fries. Next time will look for McDonalds. At least there is no burn meat.

howard l.

Yelp
free refills on soda! that is the best part of this burger king! the line moves fast and there is always seating. heck, burger king is just burger king! not much to expect except for old faithful. make sure you bring coupons!

denise p.

Yelp
This location is really nice. I've come here for the past 10 years. No place to park, but most customers are there on their lunch hour. The food is good and the surroundings are clean. However, the head manager is horrible. She tries to be everywhere at the same time. She is nasty and has no perfessionalism. She speaks to her staff horrible while they are servicing the customers. I witnessed her speaking to a young man inquiring about a job at her location. She turned her nose up and told him to go down the block where some other store is open 24 hours. The young man is African American. I looked around and saw one African American male and everyone else is Asian including her. I thought at least fast food resurants today in the year 2009 didn't discriminate and still get away with it. I guest I was wrong. All in all remove this manager and this location would be excellent. With this manager, I will not patronize any longer and will alert others I work with to do the same.
