"Matt and Catherine Wendland have since expanded into Seattle with Moonshot Coffee, Seasmith, and Fable, but Burien Press, their first shop, has all the elements that make their cafes work. First there’s the Olympia coffee beans, used in simple but balanced seasonal drinks (the cardamom latte was a wintry hit). Then there’s the pastry case starring the gluten-free banana bread, which is moist and sweet like a coffee case. Then there’s the curated beer and wine selection.
