"Matt and Catherine Wendland have since expanded into Seattle with Moonshot Coffee, Seasmith, and Fable, but Burien Press, their first shop, has all the elements that make their cafes work. First there’s the Olympia coffee beans, used in simple but balanced seasonal drinks (the cardamom latte was a wintry hit). Then there’s the pastry case starring the gluten-free banana bread, which is moist and sweet like a coffee case. Then there’s the curated beer and wine selection. If you’re getting a coffee now and beer for later, check out the bags of assorted mystery beers — at $30 for seven high-quality cans, it’s a bargain." - Harry Cheadle

"Burien Press holds strong in the tradition of great Seattle area coffee houses. They have the standard favorites for those who like their coffee more traditional, like lattes, mochas, and cappuccino. Still, for the more culinary-minded who want to try something different, there is a velvety butterscotch latte, sunshine golden milk, and hot chocolate with house-made dark chocolate sauce." - Laura LeMoon

"Just like White Center sister spot Moonshot Espresso, Burien Press serves homemade pastries and espresso drinks along with some specials, like golden milk lattes or peppermint mochas. They also stock their shelves full of natural wine, local beer, and grocery stuff like tinned fish, hot sauce, and olive oil. It’s hard to go wrong with a breakfast sandwich or pastry, but the giant homemade biscuit with whipped butter and jam is the real standout when a hit of carbs and fat is necessary." - Nate Watters

Another espresso gem! 💎 ☕️ In my espresso snobbish opinion, these places are tough to find as we are in a epidemic of burnt coffee/espresso. Would you not agree that coffee isn’t getting cheaper (nothing is! 😅). And at the expensive price point of espresso (avg $4 a double shot), I do expect a solid quality tasting product and I find roasteries even burn their espresso and or give a cup of hot muddy water. 🤢 Not this 💎! They provide rich tasting “dark matter. It’s obsidian colored like my soul 😂. In addition they offer fun and unique drink options like cold brew limeade and an espresso tonic and orange bitters! What?? That sounds weird! Yes please! The baristas there ( I use the term as they expertly craft their coffee drink and dial in their espresso machine) were kind and laid back. Bonus: I snagged a dark chocolate sea salt and what it a rainbow sprinkled cookie? (Almost fruit pebbles tasting in the most delicious way possible). Both were really good. Bonus bonus: this place is also a craft tap room for after noon early evening beer options and they have craft cans and bottles to go as well. I didn’t realize this was also a mini bottle shop! I hope destiny brings me back to this area, this small town near the airport, and to this gem of an espresso cafe. Hot Tips: 🅿️ was and looked pretty easy to find in the area. 7 mins from is a beautiful park and beach called Seahurst! Get your delicious coffee and go their from a walk. Parking was also smooth there (it was around noon on a Friday).

Great spot for a really good cup of coffee. Bakery items are delicious. All the staff is super friendly… No “Seattle ice” attitudes Back patio is a great place to enjoy your coffee.

words can’t express how much I love this place. I don’t care that it’s a bit on the pricy side, but take my money for a butterscotch latte in exchange. it’s so creamy and not super sweet. always have a pleasant experience with the workers and the atmosphere is so beautiful. truly an aesthetic place. only downside is they don’t offer almond milk but the latte is so good I don’t care

Great coffee! Great baked goods. Beer plus coffee is always welcome in my book. It's got a great little selection of bottles and cans from local breweries to choose from along with beer on tap. I highly recommend the espresso tonic drink

Had a layover on our way back home to Tennessee and wanted to try a local coffee shop instead of a big chain starbucks type of place. My coffee and nut bread was awesome. I recently found out I'm allergic to dairy so it was nice seeing that they had options to accommodate that. I'm by no means a vegan or anything so I can't attest to the options for people who do that, but swap milk for something else and I'm on board.

Service is always great there, but only the first time I ordered the chai tea latte I was in heaven. It was perfectly spicy and yummy. All the other times, the same drink was not spicy enough, and I have been disappointed since. My husband, though, has been enjoying the lavender latte when in season.

This is a cute lil place we were recommended to stop by & we were not disappointed! The lavender vanilla latte was delicious! They have seating in the back & we got to enjoy the which which was delicious as well! The staff was super friendly & very polite to all the people they served, it was really busy but they didn’t seem to let that bother them.
