Burma Burma - Review - Kala Ghoda - Mumbai - The Infatuation

"This always-packed, vegetarian restaurant and tea parlor introduced Mumbaiites to a range of ingredients, techniques, and flavors from our neighboring nation eleven years ago. It’s Burmese dishes that align with the desi palate, vegan-friendly laphet included. Burma Burma’s South Mumbai location was its first in India, and over the years its menu has evolved, going from mainly populist dishes like oh no khowsuey (with a choice of four noodles) and carbs-meet-broth samuza hincho soup, to more granular, hyper-regional plates like lemongrass-infused Mohinga noodle soup, and jasmine rice cooked in sun-dried mustard broth, a Mon tribe specialty. We always crave their savory fermented tea leaf salad and smoked chilli rice bowl. Burma Burma takes advantage of similarities in both cuisines to maximum effect, creating something new. Which explains why there’s always a wait for a table here, or at many of their 13 outlets across India." - Roshni Bajaj Sanghvi

The interior of the restaurant was also noteworthy, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience. We're so impressed with the food and service at this Burmese restaurant. If you're a fan of Burmese cuisine or just looking to try something new, this place is a must-visit! The dishes are authentic, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Can't wait to go back!

Nice place. The access and area is a little busy but the dinning experience and breadth of the menu is impressive. The staff is courteous and well mannered. We had some Boba Teas and food. All were good, and the deserts too. Can easily recommend

Rating: 4/5 A perfect place for vegetarians, with plenty of Jain options available. Since they don’t accept reservations, it’s best to reach by 7 PM to secure a table. The staff deserve a mention for not rushing you through orders, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. The food is good, and the ambience is decent, making it a pleasant spot to spend quality time.

Had a truly memorable experience at Burma Burma in Fort! The ambience was calming and tastefully done—elegant yet welcoming. Despite the lunch rush, the place was well managed and we were seated quickly. Service was top-notch throughout—prompt, warm, and thoughtful. Our server Chris deserves a special mention for being incredibly helpful and attentive. We started with the Burmese Blossom and Peru Lemonade—both non-alcoholic and refreshingly unique. For food, the lotus stem crisps were perfectly crunchy and addictive, and the signature Burma Burma Oh No Khowsuey was nothing short of divine—comforting, creamy, and full of flavour. Even the bathrooms had charming little signs in Burmese, which added to the thoughtful detailing across the space. Can’t wait to go back already!

Loved the place, something very unique in taste from routine food Burmese food varieties are too good to enjoy To pronounce it is as difficult as it is yummy but. We tried samosa soup, chees broccoli, potato brochoto, Chinatown noodle and smokkie peru, presentation of smoke peru is unique, see the video Only issue is parking because of old mumbai lanes and place is small so ensure you go on time to get place You can you dinout to get discount while making payment

If you're looking to explore the rich and aromatic world of Burmese cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. The dishes are bursting with bold flavours. Special mention must go to the Burmese tea, which is nothing short of exceptional. Rich, creamy, and perfectly brewed, it's a warm, nostalgic experience in a cup. Just a tip: make sure you arrive on time or a bit early — the place gets busy fast and there’s often a long wait. But trust me, it’s well worth it.

Burma Burma at Fort area is probably the best place to have Burmese cuisine. The joint is small, but it is a long wait to secure a table on weekends as no prior reservations taken, only walk-ins are accepted. The food is variety, tasty & delicious, the service was also good. No alcohol served here. Khowsuey Splits was delicious and the quantity was more than enough. Bubble Tea Thai tea, Raw Mango Salad, Burmese Falafel, Smoked Burmese Cheese are worth mentioning. Their takeaway brown coloured paper bag is good and holds good amount of weight. Overall a good experience of Burmese food, definitely worth a second visit.

They have got some really good food both in taste and quality. Their desserts are a must try especially the berry blast added recently, also, the samosa soup and khow suey noodles are a must try. The staff too is very helpful. They do not take reservations so I would recommend better to go in advance.
