12 Seattle Restaurant Openings for April 2025 | Eater Seattle

"The old Rancho Bravo (or KFC, to longtime locals) drive-thru spot opposite Cal Anderson Park has a new tenant: a chain that will run the drive-thru 24 hours, which is being called a significant change for the location." - Harry Cheadle

Burritos California - Review - Capitol Hill - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This casual Mexican spot has a few locations in and around Seattle, serving a big selection of breakfast burritos, tacos, and more. It’s taken over the well-known space once occupied by Rancho Bravo back in the day. Everyone has a late-night, Capitol Hill Rancho Bravo story, and now Burritos California is open there 24 hours. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Google
the portions were freaking huge. I got two full meals and a snack from the enchilada/burrito combo. I can't remember what my partner got (chimi combo?) but it was an equally huge portion. the aguas were pretty good, a little sweet but didn't taste completely fake like some I've had here. the service was crazy fast.

The portions here are huge not only do you get a bang for your buck but the quality is definitely on point everything was delicious this us definitely the place to hit up on Capitol Hill

After a few bites of my California burrito, all I could do was laugh. This was pitiful. I've seen more carne asada in a vegetarian restaurant. When steak did turn up, it was grey, zero sear on it. The fries looked like they were just boiled and not fried, so mushy. I took a photo of my cheese and potato burrito about 1/4 of the way through. Several of my fries were green too indicating a lack of care in the kitchen. I was planning on forgiving the bad service if the burrito was good. The person taking my order just stared at me, no greeting, no thank you, nothing. Very uncomfortable Absolutely will not return.

They took over Memo and I should say the food, service is wonderful. I tried the birria chilaquiles and a side of home made chips they were divine, their dipping sauces are great as well highly recommend and their prices are quite reasonable for Cap hill

Google
I’m so happy to see a Mexican place with such authentic food and amazing staff. The menu options alone showcase that they truly understand all the ins and outs of Mexican food and then the portion to price ratio makes it so worth it!! We got the birria plate and a chile relleno burrito with agua de horchata and piña. Burritos- the chicken is well done with the perfect crust and the rice and beans are yummy good rations all around. The birria is great too it’s not too greasy and one again rice and beans SLAP. The horchata tastes pretty good compared to other places that use a packet and it tastes artificial same for pina. Lastly I love the condiments bar!! Omg and the corn tortillas are good too 😭

Google
I’ve been to three of these locations and it is consistently the best Mexican food in the area. Perfect when you’re hungover, perfect when you’re hungry. I have eaten more breakfast burritos than any meal other restaurants have to offer

Google
Insane huge portion of quesabirria tacos for like.. $10?? I'm very happy with that. I would say it's a very fair price since the seasonings seem to not be strong or very present which makes it fall short. Also had their tres leches cake which was decent but nothing to write home about, tastes similarly to a flan than a tres leches cake maybe due to some cinnamon or something in it. Overall pretty good food, very filling, very affordable for the hill. Definitely decent stuff for post bar hopping food or just a little Latino food without breaking the bank. Will definitely be my new food spot for a good lunch.

Google
Small hard to read menu. Food came out quick. Workers seemed annoyed at everything. Food was bland.

Yelp
Last value place in Cap Hill - breakfast burritos are a great deal! Fast / affordable/ excellent!!

Yelp
If you're on Capitol Hill near the Pike/Pine corridor and need some late night tacos this is it. It's a local fast casual chain. A 24/7 spot with a salsa bar. It serves the late night workers (healthcare workers, facility workers, and transit operators, for example) and weekend partiers. Something that's unique and rare, particularly on Capitol Hill, is this restaurant has a drive thru. It's because it used to be a KFC. I'm not encouraging vehicular traffic, I'm just pointing out a little history. Most people who live up here take public transit anyway. Oh, and Rancho Bravo used to be at this spot too. If you need a quick fix (Calm down, Hangry!) then just get tacos but if you're willing to wait a while then order anything else. Some entrees have huge portions like their Carne Asada Fries. You can share it with your friends. I like their aguas frescas. Refreshing summertime vibes.

Yelp
Dryer than the Mojave Desert in June Summertime Noon Sun! I ordered the carne asada burrito. Dry! Dry! Dry! Put some sausage or cheese in it or something. The meet was well done and really dry. Even the tortilla it was wrapped it was dry. Then there was the flavor. Better yet, lack of flavor. Come on! Mexican Food is supposed to be flavorful and dry. Not this garbage. Needless to say.... I will. NOT be coming here again.

Yelp
If you judge this place by the cover, it appears like a run-down, dirty, low quality restaurant. However once you step inside the interior is very clean. The food is good quality: I got the carne asada burrito with fries inside and as someone who lived in California, I can say the carne asada tasted legit. This place is definitely better than Carmelos and Tacos Chukis. There is a salsa bar with a red sauce that has a nice kick to it alongside some limes. The prices are reasonable given the large size - $11 for a burrito that could maybe feed 2 people.

Yelp
I didn't expect myself to eat here but... here we are. This was on a Saturday night and two of my friends and I wanted a late dinner in Cap Hill. We decided here given most places to eat at were already closed. It feels like a regular fast-food joint inside here with the many booths to sit in and the extremely colorful and bright decor inside. There's a ton of dishes and combos to get here but for this visit I got a birria plate along with two orders of enchiladas for myself. My friends got carne asada fries that we could split. I over-ordered here by accident with the two orders of enchiladas, but they have really big portions for relatively low prices here! The birria was tender and the enchiladas were done all right. Each set came with their own rice, salad and beans, and I got corn tortillas with them as well. The carne asada fries were also all right, nothing too special about them though they were pretty loaded with a ton of cheese and flavor. I've had much better places for Mexican food though this is a good place if you're wanting huge portions on a budget. Just don't expect much from here in terms of quality.

Yelp
I love this place so much, it's so clean inside despite being open for so long. Please come here guys, i placed the order at the wrong location but they still made it for me. Workers are so sweet and they give gigantic proportions definitely work the bank

Yelp
Ordered a shrimp burrito with no cilantro. Got no onion, tomato or bell pepper. Guess cilantro may have been in like a pico de gallo but no one said half the ingredients would be missing. I only didn't want extra cilantro like some places dump on. Super dry and flavorless but grilled shrimp were good.

Yelp
This place started good. Went back completely different. I grew up in so cal this isn't a California burrito. Not sure what there's serving and ton of onions and tomatoes in the burrito. Meat, cheese, cream, pico not hard!

Yelp
I thought sales tax was 3.5% but they charge over 4%. Interesting. @burritos you wanna respond?

Mike W.

Yelp
Very Rude staff!! They complain if you come to eat there more than once a week and will literally mess your order up and give you low quality portions. Also having to repeat the order at least 5 times, Spanish or English every time I go only for them to mess my order up anyway or give me low quality slop. This location needs an abundance of customer service training.

Vinny C.

Yelp
The food was delicious.. I got the birria burrito with consume the total came out to 11.23 after tax. This place has good customer service it was easy and quick to order, the owner gave me and my boys some free donuts after our meal and talked with us about living a happy life.. the portions of food are really good sizes and filled us up. I would recommend trying this place out.. the restaurant was calm and spacious the tables were spread out so people aren't in your business. Loved the birria it was super tender and not fatty.. 4743 University Way NE Seattle, WA 98105 United States

Yelp
I ordered the California Burrito on Door Dash and it was drier than the Sahara. Supposed to have pico de gallo and cheese but both were barely noticeable. Steak, potatoes, and a tortilla. And that's what it tasted like, just those three. Great Mexican is fresh with diverse texture and a tasty sauce. This was none of those things.

Connor E.

Yelp
Ordered the nachos, received a full box of stale chips covered in raw cheese, some chicken, and a few other underwhelming toppings. Completely cold and unmelted. There was a homeless man sleeping on the floor that everyone seemed to ignore. The service was nice. Ambiance not so much

Chelsea A.

Yelp
the previous owner made better Mexican food. this food now is TexMex / CalMex poorly made and just thrown together. food wasnt even cooked right. Definitely a place for drunk or high people. If you want real Mexican food go somewhere else.

Jack H.

Yelp
It was OK. Food came out rather quick and hot, the beef was extremely dry however and the salsas imo lacked flavor, quite watery. I do appreciate the salsa bar and the prices seemed fair for fast casual on the Hill.

Yelp
I thought $15 was a little expensive for the shrimp dish that I ordered, but I ended up getting three meals out of it! You might wish to request an extra tortilla because there's so much food to put in them. Everything was very fresh and I did the drive-through which was pretty quick! Definitely would recommend and it's open 24 hours!

Lawrence H.

Yelp
Okay this update is just for their carnitas: don't get it. Not only does it taste off (definitely not fresh) but they use a weird cut that isn't the standard shredded pork, instead like these cubes of meat. Just strange texture and lacking in flavor, with what taste there is being almost foul.

Armando O.

Yelp
Today I tried the monster burrito, the first time since they fixed and changed the name of what was before there. I am surprised as the portions are good, affordable and pretty delicious. I noticed that it's very clean in the inside and it feels extremely pleasant to order and pick up my food, hopefully it continues like this for the future.

Yelp
Comida Muy Buena! Especialmente Las Carne Asada Fríes. El servicio al cliente estuvo asombroso! Muy Amables! El ambiente estuvo muy bien y tenían música y decoraciones asombrosas! 100% recomendaría

Yelp
AMAZING food!!!! The Service is very fast. The ambiance of the restaurant is very welcoming.

Yelp
It used to be a different Mexican place that wasn't amazing but at least they had pretty good burritos. I've tried it three times now, thinking I could find something edible on the menu but for instance, last time I was there I ordered a burrito with shredded port and instead it came out with fatty diced cube pork bits that were nasty. I just want a chicken, or shredded port, or ground beef burrito with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and maybe sour cream, but none of their burritos come like this. They're always a meat (best guess what you'll get) with just rice and beans, or just pico de gallo. So weird. For the last and final time I'll try getting food from here, I opened the burrito so I could eat some of the pico de gallo and I left the weird fatty pork diced cubes because I didn't want to die.

Mason H.

Yelp
Got the birria nachos and they hooked it up! Amazing. Cajeros was super kind on till. Super fresh ingredients, and so clean!

Evan W.

Yelp
The food was great and having a drive through is super convenient given the location. The burrito was huge and every bite had just as much flavor as the last. All of the menu items I tried were great and they have options to cater to anyone's taste. I can confidently say I will be a frequent customer.

Yelp
One of the ladies who works on Sunday evenings is very unprofessional. She doesn't have customer service skill and should not be working there. Also, the card you get where you get a free order after you get six orders but the lady told me it was only for dessert or a drink, which is misleading!
