Busby's West

Lots of different areas to hang out, but not quite enough seating, service was quick, and the wings are really good, they definitely make a good margarita. The arcade games are not super expensive and therefore it is more fun to hang out and play them a little longer. Definitely coming back here to try more other drinks and see what kind of fun things they have going on.

This was our first stop after arriving in LA and boy did we get a good American welcome! Our bar tender (Ryan) was fantastic! He gave great recommendations on what’s popular and what not to have whilst engaging in great conversation about our country and teaching us about his! Definitely recommend this bar, great atmosphere and drinks, you won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely loved this place. Good food and they have happy hour. The staff were amazingly friendly. We had a good old time 3 nights in a row!!

Came here to watch the Champions League final at noon which was advertised on their social media. Got there at 11.50am to find they weren’t open yet. They only opened the doors at 12 and hadn’t set up the TVs yet for the game. Missed around 25min of the game before the technician came and fixed all the TVs. The place is also grossly understaffed. At the beginning for 1 hour there was only one security and one bartender. That was it. A server then came and started to help but they were still way too many customers for only 2 people serving and one person in the kitchen. Even with all these struggles they did a fairly decent job getting the drinks and food out as quickly as they could. I blame management for not being more organized. The limited staff on the day did the best they could and they were very apologetic and friendly. The food was actually pretty decent for a bar/pub. I got the Santa Monica burger which was tasty but impossible to eat with hands!

I visited Busby's West last night (Monday Aug 27th) with a group of friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. Our waitress, Lolita, seemed disinterested and rude for no reason, from the start. When we got there we were sitting outside and planning to order from the bar, but saw there was a waitress inside, so we asked her if we should order through her or the bar and she said her and that she'd come outside in a minute. First, she forgot my friend’s drink and then insisted she had already brought it. After realizing her mistake, she eventually brought the drink but charged us for two instead of one. Things didn’t get better from there. She got our pizza order wrong and didn’t bring out any plates or silverware when we asked. We had to get them ourselves. So I went inside and asked a man who worked there if I could get some plates etc., which he happily got for me, and when she saw me doing that, she rolled her eyes at me. Throughout our meal, she never came back to check if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. We had a large group of 12 adults coming from a book reading, so by no means were we acting obnoxious, half of our group are in their 60's. At this point, several of us wanted to order more drinks and food. When someone from our group finally went inside to ask if we could order more food, she informed us that the kitchen was closed and suggested we just close out our tab (it was about 10pm and the bar didn't close until around 1am). It would have been nice to know the kitchen was closing so we could’ve ordered more. Even then, when asked to come out and take drink orders, she said she would but never returned. We ended up going straight to the bar to order from the bartender, who was great and the only highlight of the night. To top it all off, she brought us the check without us asking for it, and there was already gratuity added to the bill. We would have gladly tipped more had she been a pleasant and attentive server. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in our mouths, and we won't be returning to this bar and do not suggest it for your night out.

Great place. Tons of t.v.s. lots of games. Board games for families, arcade games, shuffle board, pool table, and so much more. Great selection of ciders on tap.

This is a Bills bar to watch the game (it gets really packed when they're on). Also a great place to watch football in general. Service is great. Food is just okay.

For the most part, busby's was a great time. We went for a friend's birthday and had some drinks and laughs. The chicken and waffles were excellent. If it wasn't for the waitress being rude,I would have given them 5 stars.

I came through on a Sunday to watch a game and after finding parking easily on the street, I noticed immediately that it was packed! There were a lot of cheers and great camaraderie throughout the place. I was luckily enough to find a seat by one of the TVs and enjoyed the game while cheering for my team with other fans nearby. The arcade games were in use as always and the service was great as usual. There was a diverse group of fans and during my last visit, the chicken wings were really good. They came with a few veggie sticks and dressing, which added to the flavor even more! There are always plenty of boardgames to play and a vast amount of screens to look at!

Busbys is a great environment to watch a sports game. They have redone their outdoor patio and it's very pleasant for big games. Crystal always takes great care of our group which is excellent service. The games make it more fun to spend a day watching sports. The food is very mediocre but what more do you expect at a dive bar. Fries, wings, chicken tender and pizza. overall a great west side sports bar staple

Theresa's great. Came here for the monthly Game Dev Drink Up, ended up watching the Bills give the Dolphins a bad day. All in all, 10/10.

Teresa was so sweet and made our first time at this bar a great one! I love when you actually get to talk with the bartender and they take the time to help you pick out drinks. I'll probably call ahead to make sure she's there next time we go!

Go Bills.. . Yes on Sunday it's full of Buffalo Bills fans. And the most amazing thing is they serve Blue Cheese with Buffalo Wings.. Can't wait for the next Bills game

Great beer at Busbys for a really great price. The bartender was very attentive and noticed me instantly to get me a drink. The vibes are really cool and lowkey. The location has a lot of TVs and seats to sit an enjoy the sporting event of your choice. The nachos are full of flavor and heavy with toppings. The jalapeños was an amazing touch. Also the drinks are a very strong pour so come prepared!

The short: Relaxed sports bar -- When it's not a Buffalo Bills game day that is. Decent bar food, nice selection of beers, and a very friendly staff. The long: I was having a tough day and my girlfriend agreed that I needed to get out of the house for some food (and maybe a beer) to get a reset. I came to Busby's, my new favorite West LA bar and grill, looking for the collegial feel I've had here in the past in which to enjoy a burger (yes, yes, I know I said I'm giving up meat to help the environment) and a beer. Anyway, I headed over to Busby's and the place was empty... 4:00 on Memorial Day and the place is empty (see the photos). And yet I stayed in an empty bar to have a beer (in this case a Tortugo double IPA) and a turkey burger. As I'm writing this more people are showing up, so I feel less pathetic, but lest I make this review about myself (oh, you know I will... keep reading), let's stick to the restaurant, shall we? Ok, so Gabriel (behind the bar) guided me on my IPA journey today with an improvised unofficial flight. He then guided me through some black and tans, sours and snake bites... The turkey burger was middle of the road (that is to say, it was a turkey burger), well spiced and balanced. To put it succinctly, my socks stayed on. The bar is beginning to fill with a crowd that is quite friendly, pleasant and young. (Though the guy next to me is 81... but young at heart). The turkey burger was average but the rest of the food is actually quite good, though old time regulars will grouse about the french fry format changing from steak fries to string fries. The cheese pizza was well above bar food average. All in consideration, the staff, the patrons, the taps and the food combine to make this place a winner.

Had to beg the waitress for service only to find out she has to physically take your credit card and hold onto it until you pay. stupidest rule ever, with all the fraud in the world. We left without even ordering.

Still the best chicken wings around. Now with a side of the worst service. Waiter said happy hour drinks were just 20 percent off, despite the website promising $6 well drinks (we paid twice that). Took our order, brought our drinks, and disappeared. Thirty minutes later I asked the bartender to please check on our food. She said she'd find our waiter and see what was up. Keep in mind the bar was entirely empty at this point and only a few booths/tables were taken. Another 30 minutes later I finally saw the waiter and went up to him. No, the bartender hadn't told him anything, he had no idea where our food was, but he'd check on it. No apology or offer to refresh our drinks. Finally 15 minutes after that - an hour and a quarter after we'd sat down - food was placed on our table. Our twice-the-price-promised drinks were long gone. We asked for water and the manager. The server said No. Seriously! He pointed toward the other room, said the manager was the large man over there, and that we could go to him if we wanted. Told this to the waiter when he showed back up. He sent over Michael. Lucky us. I swear Michael never once apologized for any of it. Instead he told a hilarious story about how the kitchen was slammed and backed up because of ... the Republican presidential primary debate. Hahahaha. I'm disappointed in the service -- and the manager's take-it-or-leave-it attitude -- and that the onion rings and wings are still so good (if overpriced at $13 for 6). Mostly mad that my friend will never return with me and that I probably won't, either.

Been here a couple times and I really want to like the place. Ambiance is awesome and vibe is friendly. It's also huge so if the room you're in is too loud or boring there's another atmosphere 20 feet away. But the food is just not very good, even for car standards. Both times seemed to be low on servers so trying to get another beer or ketchup was a pain. Will go again but just feels like it could be way better with a little TLC.

I saw the bad reviews on this place but happily gave it a try anyway. Great staff, friendly and fun clientele and the food is surprisingly good. They seem to have turned it around. I recommend it highly.

Went in last week and the food was great! Nice atmosphere. The waitress (I think her name was Lola) was very friendly. Overall highly recommend.

I had the misfortune of visiting this dreadful bar and encountering the most incompetent waitress named Madison. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was dingy and depressing, with sticky floors and a stench that made my stomach turn. Madison greeted me with a fake smile and took my order, only to completely forget about it and leave me waiting for over half an hour. When my drink finally arrived, it was watered down and tasted like sewage. Throughout the night, Madison managed to mess up every single order at my table, causing chaos and frustration among the patrons. She was rude, unapologetic, and clearly had no idea what she was doing. To top it all off, the bar itself was poorly stocked and overpriced, with limited drink options and subpar quality. The music was too loud, the lighting was terrible, and the overall vibe was just plain unpleasant. I would strongly advise anyone considering visiting this bar to steer clear and save themselves the headache of dealing with Madison and her incompetence. This place is an absolute disgrace and should be shut down immediately.

I don't make reviews but holy shit, sitting at the bar during the bills chiefs game I was BLOWN AWAY at how attentive the team was considering how busy they were. Ryan, Cody and Chris aka the sexiest men alive were lovely and took care of me and the rest of the folks here despite having 100 hands pointing at them for drinks. Y'all need to come here not just for the good deals but for the people, they're lovely and will make you feel at home in a way no other bar on the west side will

Wayne is such a genuine guy! He hooked us up, we just barely missed food, but Wayne made up for it.

BEWARE - NARCISSISTIC BARTENDER AND MISOGYNISTIC MANAGEMENT. Cannot recommend this place less. Would give it zero stars if I could. The bartender was incredibly rude, I was actually concerned for his mental health because he was being so aggressive behind the bar and treating every customer terribly. Didn't catch his name but he was tall with dark hair. He grabbed my drink off the bar and threw it on the ground and when I asked what his problem was he started laughing and then called the manager and security over and kicked us out. This employee is so unstable, I did not feel comfortable being around him and I definitely will not be returning to an establishment that stands behind that kind of behavior. Oh and the drinks sucked Try Nickel Mine down the street. Just as many tvs, way better vibes!

Stopped by for a couple drinks after work and this place is a true gem. I loved the interesting mix of rooms, the variety of drink, and the tasty bar food. It was also fun just exploring the hodgepodge of rooms there were. Shout out to Bridget for being a top notch server. Highly recommend for an afternoon/evening out.

This bar has been my favorite sports bar since the minute I walked in two years ago. Teresa, who may not be the manager or running the place but should be and certainly will be real soon, greeted us that day and has been serving my friends and me ever since. Her services are fantastic. She is on top of everything even during the hustle and bustle of a packed bar on game night. She is really friendly, funny and thoughtful. She always remembers the names of the different friends and groups I bring with me. She always makes us feel special. Teresa is one of the many reasons my friends and I visit on a weekly basis.

Worst service you could ever encounter. One of the waitresses (has blonde highlights) came and made my friend and I get up and stand away from the table we had gotten. The table was not reserved, she just wanted her friends to sit there so she made us stand even after we had been waiting on a lookout for the table to clear up. She claimed this was her section so she had a right to sit whoever she wanted and then proceeded to never take our order after she left us with no table. Never coming back here again. Don't come to this bar. There are many other options on the same street, save yourself the waste of time by coming to this place.

I don't know how more reviews don't mention the fact Busbys West in Santa Monica is Bills Backers Bar and if you venture into this place on a day the Buffalo Bills are playing, you're in for a real treat seeing #BillsMafia in action. Heck, if you even drive by this place during football season and the Bills are playing, you'll see Bills fans inside, outside, and maybe even in the nearby alley. I've been coming to Busby's West for Bills games on and off since 2012. My go to is a shot of fireball, a coffee, and a Bud Light to start. Then I typically order at least 12 BBQ chicken wings...and countless more beers. The place has definitely increased in popularity as the Bills have more and more success with Josh Allen at the helm. I wish we could say the same about Busby's... they used to do a tray of free wings at half time and have some drink specials plus a special menu for Bills games. I think they did away with all that. I will definitely cut them some slack though as COVID has hit all businesses hard and the restaurant business particularly. I will say that, likely thanks to COVID, the Busby's West parking lot was turned into a decent sized outdoor seating area complete with a lot of TVs! Anyways, a special shout out to Trulie who typically works the bar in the back on game days. She's awesome and continuously goes above and beyond. I've only ever been to Busby's for game days (including a few preseason games). Be sure to arrive early to get a seat. If you don't, the "bison dome" is always an option. Do note that for some of the more popular games and as the season goes on, there are times there is a line to get into the place and they reach capacity. Be patient with the employees, they're trying to manage amongst all of the drunks... With that being said, another shout out to the Bills Backers organizers. I know it's not easy but we all appreciate you. Thanks Busby's West for putting up with us. Keep the beers flowing and the wings crispy. Go Bills!

I work at the hospital nearby on call. Have come to catch the game between call a few times. I think cuz I'm solo, not one staff member offers to take my order. Open seating...table next to me get serviced. If I sit at the bar, no problem. Great service there, but sometimes there is no soli seats. It's unfortunate, sitting thru two quarters without even a hello. I've come after work with coworkers, also good service. So I guess with that said, I'll pick up some McDonald's when I leave and next Sunday try the Irish bar around the corner ‍

I've only been to Busby's East so I kinda knew what to expect for Busby's West. Pretty similar - sport bars with a good amount of TV's and arcade games. Drinks are okay and they have decent happy hour deals. Staff is friendly for the most part.

If you're a Buffalo Bills fan, Busby's West is where you go to watch the games and find community! When I relocated from Buffalo to SoCal, immediately one of my Buffalo friends told me to meet her here for a game. I did and was not disappointed. There were so many people here that have relocated from Buffalo and meet at Busby's West to watch the Bill's games. The sense of community and fun is contagious! As far as the bar itself, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a little dark in certain parts indoors. The bartender was fun, although the Buffalo wings were AOK. They default to being served with ranch (very anti-Buffalo), but they thankfully will put blue cheese on them. Fun bar in Santa Monica to watch sports!

This is a cool bar. Lots of space and different areas for you to sit and talk, drink, watch tv or play games. To my knowledge only street parking. Service seemed great and staff was very accommodating. I was there for a party and did not drink, but it seemed like all the patrons were really having a great time! Definitely check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed this bar. Had wings they were good. A couple of IPAs and watched the Angels game. My only gripe is that I had go request they put on the Angels game while there were so many tVs showing the Dodgers even after the Dodgers game ended. Cmon Shoei Ohtani is killing it! But great sports bar and good atmosphere. I like it. Busby"s West was a nice find.

As a black person, didn't feel good when I walked in so I did not stay long. Nothing actually happened except being stared at... not greeted even though you're looking directly in my face. And no one offered to help me.

We came in with a small group to watch a sports game and the bar had plenty of seats indoors and a some outdoor seating. They have a small menu to order from and it's what you would expect from bar food. A cute spot with a nice vibe overall and will be back to watch some more games during football season.

I love this place! They have arcade games if you come with your man and he's going to be watching the sports games haha I was honestly surprised it wasn't more packed but it's nice having a seat and not being squished in like some other bars plus the food comes quicker

First off, the overall ambience was great. My friend and I came to watch the game and we were able to find a perfect table outside in front of the tv's. Our food/drink order was very good and came out in a timely manner. We came on a busy night, so it was hard to flag someone down after we finished our food. Everything we ordered was very delicious! Now for the con's and the reason why I rated 2 stars. I gave this review 2 stars because I did love the food and ambience. I was turned off by how poorly we were talked to, specifically from one the male food busser's that delivered our food. He came around to ask if we needed a box for my leftovers that I did not finish. I said, "yes please" and I had also asked him for more water. He came back and delivered the to-go box to me and immediately walked away. I was able to get his attention and ask, "Also could we please get more water?" Thinking maybe he had forgotten that I had asked him initially. He immediately responded by giving me attitude letting me know "someone is coming!" I was completely taken aback because I did not ask him in a rude way what so ever. Then he continues to walk away and say, "someone is coming, relax." I was so shocked how rude he responded to us. I've never been talked to like that from any restaurant staff. Clearly, he hates his job and doesn't want to be there. It was just so distasteful and I didn't appreciate it. This was my first time going to this sports bar and it left a really bad impression on me.

So sad , we come here all the time and tip well , they tired to double dip and change our credit cards twice. Never again . If I would have been a white girl or a straight white male this wouldn't have happened The bartender gets taken care of every-time we are so generous and great full but I guess that's not enough for these white men . Don't come here unless you're desperate .

Came here with a group to grab some drinks and watch a game. We were seated in the outside patio. There were lots of open seating and plenty of tvs for everyone. We ordered a pitcher and a few drinks. Our waitress was quick and got our drinks out in a timely manner. The rest of the staff that helped us weren't the greatest unfortunately. We accidentally spilled a beer on our table and it took a while for someone to come help us wipe it down. And when he did wipe it down, all he did was push the beer around the table with a wet towel. We ended up having to grab a bunch of napkins to clean it ourselves. Additionally, one of the bussers would swoop in when we weren't looking and take all our glasses away when we weren't even done with our drinks. If it weren't for our waitress, I would've rated the place one less star.

Food wasn't even delivered because we waited over 2 hours for a burger and a salad. Beer was "on the house" and tasted like soap. 0/10 recommend.

After 10 years I'll never be going back... It's been one of my favorite sports bars in LA but the service I've experienced over the last 4 visits in 2 months has been so consistently awful and uncomfortable that it's just ruined the place for me despite some great memories there. It's my latest visit there that's left me quite appalled. My initial thought was maybe they're lacking enough employees (which I know a lot of places are) but over the last 2 visits they seemed to be fully staffed yet incredibly rude and apathetic to any questions/comments/concerns discussed with them. In particular, food order experiences here have been atrocious. From an order on a slow Sunday night taking 50+ mins and having to be reordered twice, to the wrong food on another and cold orders, I'm at a complete loss... Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for the game. Not sure if it's new management or hires but this place is NOT what it use to be.

We went on St Patrick's Day and it was not crowded and easy to get a nice table. The menu was limited to mostly St Patricks Day food which was OK, but I really want to get a pizza. However, our waitress, Madison, was lovely. She was always so friendly and accommodating and really trying to make the customer have a great experience. She is an asset to your company and I wanted to let you know.

Went here to watch the Syracuse game. It is a huge bar with a lot of seating options. They do pitchers of beer and have a huge food menu. I had the chicken tenders and fries which were pretty standard. My friends had the carne asada fries which looked good, but they were also $19. They have a lot of tvs, even outside to watch the game.

I had a great time here for a Bills Game. I know nothing about football but I was in the mood for some ciders and bar food. I just ordered chicken strips and fries. It was average but the service was great. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive. I arrived before the rush and there was definitely a line for drinks but they worked hard to get to everyone on a timely manner despite there being only one bartender. Would recommend for a solo trip or with friends.

We were visiting California and our Buffalo Bills were playing Monday night football and heard Busby's was a popular Buffalo Bills backer bar. My daughter and I went to watch the game there and had dinner also. The food was delicious, service was great and it was a good time watching the game on their many, many TV's inside and outside on the patio. They had lots of Bill's jerseys, flags etc to decorate the bar. Unfortunately the Buffalo Bills lost but we still had a good time and would definitely go here again.

I came here to watch a game a celebrate a friend and from the moment I walked in everything felt hostile. I was with a group of mostly females and one of the bartenders thought it best to aggressive grab them for a mistake he made. Upon confronting him he made everything more uncomfortable. We didn't feel safe with the hostility and decided to request a refund for the drinks we had purchased but not consumed. The bouncer escorted us out as the bartender screamed at us as we left. I don't know what to say other than this establishment is not a friendly or safe place. For the price they charge you would think their customer service would be on par with their prices. Drinks mediocre, food moderate, service TERRIBLE!

I have hosted parties here, and I go here to watch sports. The drinks are great, don't forget to check out their happy hour! They've put televisions outside so you can watch sports outside too! The food is always good. Inside every room is a little different and they have board games, and games inside! The staff is fantastic. There are the usuals and then a lot of students, a nice mix of people. I've been going to this bar for years with friends, it's a really fun local bar! I'm very happy you survived the pandemic unlike some other bars. Please check this place out!!

I went to Busby's West for a game developers' meetup, and the bar was pretty packed. However, unlike a lot of other bars in the area, the bartenders were super. Even though there were lots of people ordering drinks, it was easy to get the bartenders' attention and get one for yourself. Really great service, and that's the most important thing at a bar for my taste. Also, if you're into arcade games, it seems like they have a lot of well maintained machines that are pretty new. People seemed to be having fun with a Pac-Man Battle Royale game that allowed up to 4 players. There are also pool tables in the back that aren't bad. It was 5 bucks for 3 games, which is a pretty fair price. The people there were really kind--being conscientious about other people's shots, not getting in people's way, taking turns. It was easy to find people to play with--I'll definitely play pool sometime again. A really great bar with a great atmosphere. Excited to try their food next time I swing by.

One of my regular to go places. This time we ordered the spinach-artichoke dip ( could be a little bit more chopped), and the vegetarian hummus plate, which both was delicious. The only thing is try to avoid soccer game nights, because then it's a madhouse, soo many people and not enough servers. But during the week it's a very nice, oldschool place to grab some drinks and good bar food. Plus the place is huge, so everyone could find a spot for their taste. Also they have arcade games, which I think is cool.

I want to start by saying I had the misfortune of meeting LA's most aggressive bartender, Cody Esquivel. This man is unhinged and I truly believe that he is going to hurt someone. I hope his co workers see his behavior and talk him into seeking professional help because he's seconds away from pulling an AR15 on someone. I watched him slam his lime tray on the bar after a customer asked him for a lime, upset because no one cut limes the night before. He was rude to my girlfriend who asked for a sparkling water, snatching the water from the bar and tossing it onto the floor saying it's club soda not sparkling like she asked. Which she didn't mind, it was the most bizarre experience watching this man be an asshole to everyone at this bar and also make himself upset. I watched him let beer from the draft spill onto the bar floor for a solid minute... how is this sanitary ? I've worked at a beer bar before and we'd use a pitcher to clean the line. It made me look around and realize how dirty and disgusting this bar is and how it can not be up to code. I've been bartending in LA for 10 years and I get being frustrated and hating your job but never in my life would I treat a customer this way. I asked him if "he was ok" to which he laughed and said "he's great" and "if I'm ok?" I said he was being very rude and he said he's not and this is just how he is and I told him he was being very aggressive to which he started laughing and called the bouncer to kick me out. I asked for a refund and left the full drinks on the bar and my friends and I went down the street to The Nickel Mine where the bartenders were super friendly and a much cleaner establishment. I can't help but to wonder if Cody is a big homophobe or just hates his life.

The "owners friends" as they described themselves are very controlling over the pool tables. The bar and arcade areas were scattered with empty drinks and trash. First and last time ever going to Busbys.
