Google
Stopped here as it is one of few restaurants open after 8pm in San Diego, the prices were very good and the food was incredible. Staff was friendly too. my wife got a tri-tip bowl and loved it but I had the California Burger and it had to be the best burger I have ever had, hands down. The sweet potatoe fries were cooked to perfection. They also have a great selection of drinks but since I had to drive back to the hotel, my wife and I settled for the craft soda, which was really good - I have never had anything like it. I would highly recommend giving this place a try.

Google
Loved this place from start to finish. Called before coming and the person on the call was great. Upon entering, Emily took my order and was so friendly, kind, helpful, welcoming. Great Smile. It’s nice when team members actually eat and love the food. Everything I got was dynamite. Grass fed burgers-Yes! En Fuego Burger made with crispy bacon (like I requested) and Sweet Potato Fries are exactly as described—so delicious. The sauces are all so delicious as well. Inside/outside seating. Great drink options as well. You gotta try this place! Happy Hour offerings 2-5pm daily as well (see photo).

Google
I have been here so many times. Love it. Everyone here is always going above and beyond. Usually come here after the gym. Never had an issue here. I can probably point out 4 workers that always go that extra step. Especially one of the female workers. Not sure if she's a manager but she's so friendly and always on top of everything. I have tried just about everything, including their limited time Asian fusion menu. The Salmon Bowl, Tri-tip, and Chicken dishes and all were very well seasoned and the meat was cooked perfectly.

Google
My wife raved about this place. It was a terrible disappointment. We got three different chicken dishes and they were all awful. My son's piri piri chicken sandwich was as dry as Clark Griswald's Christmas turkey. We could tell the chicken was not fresh or cooked to order. They were dry, stringy and chewy, not what freshly cooked chicken should be like. It took 3 minutes from order to table and we were there at opening. Try something else if you must.

Google
This restaurant has a great variety of options for everyone, but we stopped by specifically for their vegan offerings and we weren’t disappointed! The avocado sandwich was fresh and tasty, but the standout was the vegan empanada with their chimichurri green sauce. So flavorful and satisfying even our picky-eater kids asked for more. They also have gluten-free options, which is a big plus. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
AMAZING dinner, incredibly tasty, I could come and enjoy this place every day. Wonderful, friendly, personable manager and staff, casual atmosphere.

Google
My mom and I went to get lunch. The food was good, I do feel like the trip tip could use more flavor. The mac was delicious! My mom loved her dish. She got rice, tri tip, ans butternut squash and she said everything was delicious. I had the pomegranate lemonade and I would drink a gallon of that if I could!

Google
Went there a couple of times in the same week for late lunch. Nice service. The food was really good. Good location. Outside seating under the sun or at the shade. Also good if you don't have a lot of time and need a quick lunch. I give four stars for atmosphere as it was a bit empty but it was around 1:30-ish on weekdays

Yelp
Best value cafe restaurant. Reasonable to low cost. Can get busy because: I've tried 10 things on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. Wine is good quality. Service is organized. Pleasant enough surroundings. 10/10 for value.

Yelp
Hoky smokes!!!! First timer here and it's AMAZING! The Tri-Tip w/chimmi churi sauce was so tender and tasty. The brisket was also tender and delicious! White sangria was to die for! The restaurant is also beautiful and comfortable. Management is so nice and checked on us several times. I appreciate that. Will 1,000,000% be back!

Yelp
Nice, clean reasonable place for amazing lunch or dinner. One of the best burgers I've had! Today I tried one of the bowls, and it was excellent and healthy with steak and veggies! Vanessa was a sweetheart, kind, courteous, professional, and made us feel so welcome!!!

Yelp
Food Great, i normally get the curry chicken bowl with grilled veggies but trying the spicy chicken teriyaki bowl today. Service: OK, the dark haired girl with long braid, not very happy to be at register. The food is good, so its worth it. Ambiance: Chill, casual and modern, great vibe

Yelp
The burgers here are to die for. I love the meat they use! Service was decent. It's in the beautiful La Costa Town Square which is always a high plus. Bushfire Grill gets 5 stars 10/10

Yelp
Lots of GLUTEN FREE items. Moderate prices and a good patio dining area. Was the food better than Urban Plates? Probably not, but we still spent 3 hours on the patio celebrating my birthday.

Yelp
Our dinner here this week will be our last. After years of many good meals here, we've seen a steady decline. Out of the six dishes we ordered, four were barely edible. Cold vegetables, cold meat, burnt rice, bland flavors -- I could go on. Sadly, that won't get my $100 back.
google avatar

Tammy D.

Yelp
I like the selection of food appears to be very healthy. Service was great even got a sample of the Peri Peri sauce since I wasn't sure what that was. The only negative was that my meal was not warm. There's lots of outside dining as well .

Yelp
Brushfire is definitely a reliable go-to for me when it comes to lunch. I typically order one of their bowls which is cost effective and very filling. Today I decided on the braised grass-fed brisket bowl with jasmine rice and mixed veggies. The meat is super tender and juicy while the veggies have a nice variety and are sautéed. You mix all of those around in the bowl and you have a very fulfilling meal. I'm never hungry after a Brushfire meal and have never been disappointed.

Yelp
Been here a couple times. Got the Tri Tip bowl with Jasmine Rice and the Korean Cauliflower. Excellent price & value at $15 for grass fed beef. Came with chimichurri sauce which was great with the tri tip. Ordered fries. Super crispy and perfectly seasoned. Some of the best fries I've ever had. Highly recommended. Fast service. It's fast casual and nice to eat with real plates and silverware.

L C.

Yelp
I just ordered the chicken bowl with veggies & brown rice. Horrible tasting food. It has absolutely no flavor... The Peri Peri sauce taste like straight vinegar! I am surprised & disappointed. The chicken has no salt, no pepper, or any kind of herbs or spices. ZERO TASTE! I will never eat here again!

Yelp
Located in the La Costa town square, there is plenty of parking for this restaurant. We came here around 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was empty. They have a decent menu filled with bowls, plates, sandwiches, burgers, etc. We got the Thai chicken curry bowl, the steak plate, empanadas (chicken, beef, veggie), and a kombucha, followed by a couple of glasses of wine. My friend had to ask them to cook the steak again as it wasn't as medium as she wanted but otherwise enjoyed her plate. The Thai chicken curry bowl was excellent! This would be my recommendation for this restaurant. I would also definitely recommend adding the roasted Korean cauliflower for an extra crunch and flavor profile. The empanadas were all delicious and we couldn't pick a winner! The kombucha and wine were good too. We stayed here for about 3 hours and it didn't get busier so we had a lot of privacy for ourselves. The server was pleasant and not too pushy in getting us to leave, which we liked :) we shall be back for sure!

Yelp
Bushfire grill is in fire!!! wow the tritip sandwich is beyond delish! I like med rare & every time the sandwich is perfect! the staff so kind, every need met with ease. The salmon & Tri Tip is a better grade than Urban Plates(sorry honest). i still can't believe I get this big tri tip sandwich for $16. almost price of Big Mac with better quality nutrients. MUST TRY Bushfire!!

Yelp
Excellent burger! I ordered online and it was very easy to customize my order as I'm a bit picky. It was made exactly as I ordered it. Juicy & delicious. They have nice outdoor patio seating. Nice calm ambiance. Thank you!

Yelp
Never disappoints, highly recommend. Healthy dishes, good size portion, enough for leftovers later!

Lacey B.

Yelp
Amazing, everything! Exceptional service from Vanessa's warm personal welcome 'Hi Lacey!' So cool she actually remembered my name & special GF order! Now, for the food, to all meat lovers, the Tri Tip is so pink, tender, flavorful. Gonzalo & Andrey are true chef's! Price is so cheap, $16! Killer deal!!super satisfying! A must!

Yelp
Bushfire restaurant is my local go to "healthy, delicious homemade" fast prepared fresh food for dinner on those nights Im too tired to cook. Menu changes with seasonal fresh vegetables & fruit. Standard pricing. Always a delicious meal!

Stevie G.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to trying Bushfire for a long time. They're right across the road from us and my kids love steak and salmon now. Big let down. Everything was overcooked and unseasoned, The surf and turf was ordered med rare and was cooked well, the special broccoli crowns were the size of an index fingernail, had zero flavor and cooked to mushville and disintegrated with touch. The cauliflower was doused with straight sesame chili oil, the same kind I use at home in my ramen. Good but nothing you go to a restaurant for. the battered fries had an interesting seasoning. Super familiar, nothing original. There was not one single customer nor food delivery person that entered the restaurant during our 30+ minutes there during peak dinner time in a super busy town center. Bummed

Yelp
So lovely here, 5 yr friend, right by my house, just me and my dog, the team is always so welcoming and I love all the organic foods, and vegetarian selections, YUM!!!! This is my place.....

Yelp
Bushfire has a good selction of bowls, salads and sandwiches. Their grassfed meats and sustainable salmon stood out. I haven't tried their burgers but I did see a meatless patty as a healthy option. Yay for options, they have many sides: fries, rice, cauliflower, sweet potatoes and mashed potoatoes. I've also seen squash and mixes veggies. I can't help but try an empanada when I see it on a menu, but often times, i don't order them again because they're just OK. The Bushfire empanadas are darn good though - they are seasoned well in a flaky (not greasy) dough. Many times empanadas either have too much dough and not enough filling or are salty. I avoid the ones with a yellow dough that taste like shortening. No worries about that here, they offer chicken, beef, veggie and a seasonal one which are perfect with their creamy, chimichurri sauce. If you're here during happy hour (2 PM - 5PM daily) there is an empanada trio on special. Plus 50% off beer & wine. WIne is on draft. They also serve Stubborn soda and iced tea. I am not really here during peak times, so I always find everything comes out quickly with no issues. The last two times we went, my husband and I ordered the same exact things as before and both quallity and taste were consistent. The employees are on top of it and ordering is easy. i can't say that for most places, but Bushfire always gets our meal out quickly and as ordered. If you're new here, the menu can be hard to see when there is a line. Also, the seating area inside gets a little packed and tables are close together. Outdoor seating is available if you want more space. Cheers for clean restrooms and having take out containers and napkins in the self-service area

Yelp
Four of us had lunch Sunday, March 1st. My wife and I were bringing another couple who had never been there. The food was as delicious and wholesome as we had advertised to them. What made it exceptional was Vanessa. Her customer service exceeded expectations. She was warm and friendly but also on top of things. She anticipated our needs and took care of them smoothly. She is an exceptional representative.

Hunter S.

Yelp
the food was amazing, I got a chicken sandwich with fries. A chocolate chip cookie aswell. the sanwich had pesto, red onions, and it was really good chicken and bread. the fries were a perfect crunch with basil. service was really, really! good. I was greeted in a friendly manner at register and when seated with my family, we were briefly checked on after a few minutes in our meal. No extra talking needed since we had our mouths full. We felt comfortable asking for anything we needed such as an extra ranch and did not feel rushed. Very nice experience. The ambience was nice too. we had the opportunity to eat outside on a nice sunny day. the music was not too quiet nor too loud. there were people around us but the soundthat caried was nit intruding by being too loud, and it was a nice touch of background sound. My 4th tine at Bushfure and 100% feel the excitement to go again.

Diane C.

Yelp
we got the spinach strawberry salad wings and the focaccia bread all was delicious! Louie is so Professional and greets us everytime with warmth and a smile. absolutely make us want to come back at least twice a week!! Louie is an asset to Bushfire.

Yelp
Delicious food, great ambiance and really helpful staff!! Thank you so much for putting so much care into what you do! Will be back!!

Yelp
Had the En Fuego Burger. Run-of-the-mill burger and fries. The flavors of the patty were fine. Locked heat as the name suggests. The burger was load - I mean loaded with lettuce, enough to make a side salad with. The Chicken and Guava empanadas both were fantastic along with the delicious creamy chimichurri sauce. I'd comeI back just for the empanadas. The staff were super nice and helpful. The ambiance is order at counter and self serve.
google avatar

Lindsay G.

Yelp
Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was ok - nothing really stood out as excellent. The steak was tough, most of my bowl was mashed potatoes and the veggies were bland but some salt & pepper helped. I appreciate ingredient sourcing.

Nicole C.

Yelp
We have had great experiences here. Food quality is great, service is great , staff is always smiling- very friendly and helpful .

Ella D.

Yelp
Our food was absolutely terrible, steak was soo chewy it was gross. The chicken was small and undercooked and we tipped before receiving the food... which we wouldn't have after receiving our food. It's not a cheap meal for two so for both of our plates to be bad was very disappointing. We have come here many times and today was enough to not come back.
google avatar

L S.

Yelp
We were looking forward to eating here. Location was good, plenty off street parking during evening time. Place was clean, service was good. Everyone was helpful. The food was a disappointment. The tri tip bowl was dry and hard to chew, way overcooked! Possibly suggest not cutting meat into cubes would be my recommendation! The burgers were also overcooked and not tasty at all. Had ordered medium. The place was busy which lead our party to wonder why? Did we order the wrong items. We did order the chicken empanadas, I don't think the garlic condiment that came with it, complimented the empanadas. The fries were crispy and cooked well. Don't know how experience the cook was regarding the tri tip. A let down dish. The chimichurri sauce also needs to br reinvented- less garlic perhaps?

Terry R.

Yelp
Excellent staff and very clean!! Food is off the charts! Burgers are great and the sandwiches! Brussels Sprouts are roasted and best Mac n cheese!

Yelp
I'm pretty sure this is my second review for the bushfire kitchen in LaCosta but I am super grateful this place is in my neighborhood! I love their daily happy hour between two and five you can get some wine half off appetizers specials and order off the regular menu as well. Today we had really good service provided by Emily cheerful friendly and professional. We ordered the gaucho steak sandwich it was delicious and also some chicken wings which were super tasty. This is my go to place in my neighborhood if I am creeping steak sandwich late in the afternoon me and the husband love to come here for an early meal don't like eating after 5 o'clock. Grateful for the bush fire !!

Dane W.

Yelp
We usually have good experiences when we go. My wife's meal was very cold. Her side dish wasn't cooked all the way. When we brought the food up. The staff gave us attitude. Told us they would re fire it. We waited for over 20 min. Finally i got up. I guess they forgot about us. They promised a refund. Still haven't received that. Also the knifes they give you to cut thru the steak don't work at all. We had such a hard time cutting the food. Won't be back
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
First time trying this place. It's walking distance from my father's house and we wanted to go somewhere close but somehow my dad missed this spot. Checked the menu and noticed they used only high quality ingredients. Organic Grass Fed Beef, Steak, organic chicken, etc. The pictures looked awesome and so we went and walked over for dinner. Blown away is an understatement. Food came out very fast and it has a very casual atmosphere for the food being so good. Price isn't outrageous. I got the Chimichurri Tri Tip Bowl with jasmine rice and Roasted squash. Flavor was out of this world and the portion was far more generous than I was expecting for $14. This is our new spot for sure and the fact we can walk here in less than 5 mins is even better.

Sofia E.

Yelp
The food is great! indoor and outdoor seating. Awesome happy hr 1/2 off beer and wine all days 2-5 pm!! great service don't forget to ask for Vanessa!! She's the bomb and makes u feel so welcome!! Love her!!
google avatar

Nicki G.

Yelp
When Bushfire first opened, we thought it was great. The food was fresh and the salads were tasty and fresh. Not so much any more. There seem to be new people serving and such every time we go in which makes me think there is a high turnover. I like their options but everything seems to be over cooked or not fresh like it used to be. In my opinion there is less attention to detail and providing good service that used to happen in the beginning. And prices have increased a LOT!

Clarice H.

Yelp
we absolutely love this place! we usually bring our pup and they're always accommodating. They are so kind and turn the heat lamps on for us! The food is delicious. Vanessa provides excellent customer service and always greets us with a smile!
google avatar

Nicholas B.

Yelp
Stopped by tonight to grab a quick bite, since I know all of their food is precooked and it usually takes them about 2-5 minutes to get their orders out. Waited for 30 minutes. Watched a lot of other customers who came in after me get served. I've run many restaurants, this is a quick serve concept. They need to get their line organized. I understand it was a Friday night, but the kitchen was pure chaos. Saw many many guests complaining about ticket times. Management needs to get this placed dialed in if they are going to try and keep up with their DoorDash orders and still give timely service in the restaurant.
google avatar

Britt T.

Yelp
We order from Brushfire almost on a weekly basis since it's close by. They use quality ingredients and their sauces are outstanding. My go to is the salmon bowl with veggies, an empanada for my 1 year old, and the curry chicken bowl for my husband. We always get a side (or two) of sweet potato fries, which are larger cut and seasoned. The aioli dipping sauce it comes with is delicious. Service is quick and I love the online ordering capability. I know they have a great happy hour- but haven't tried yet!

Torey S.

Yelp
My family and I absolutely LOVE bushfire and have been coming here for years! All of the staff is so nice and friendly especially Chris. He is always happy, talkative and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. We are regulars and will continue to be forever!

Todd M.

Yelp
What happened to this place? Not sure what happened to the staff but when I entered what was once a friendly restaurant on Thursday night, I was completely ignored. The person at the register refused to make eye contact as I was waiting at the counter. A simple "I'll be with you in a moment" would have been sufficient. I was there for about 5 mins waiting awkwardly for her to acknowledge me. She was staring off into the distance the entire time. Then she started walking away from me, so I spoke up and asked her if there was someone here who could help me. She acted as though I appeared out of nowhere then said oh ok, how can I help you? Keep in mind no one else was in line the entire time. Should we as customers accept such blatant disregard for common courtesy at a restaurant?

Yelp
Decided to try Bushfire last week and I am glad that I did. I tried to call in a to go order but quickly found out that it was online ordering only. No problem. Fairly easy to enter the order. Plenty of choices to choose from on a diverse menu and they had empanadas and cookies too. I thought the prices were very reasonable especially with how much food you get, and compared to some of their competitors. Decided to try 3 of the empanadas, beef, chicken, seasonal guava and they are good, but 1 was a little dry (the beef one). A little pricey for an Empanada, but good and tasty. The mac and cheese did have a little spice to it, but it was yummy. the small portion was still a lot of food and a good value The spinach and strawberry salad was delectable, definitely want to get that again. Paired very nicely with the poppy seed dressing they suggested. The Tuscan chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious and will try that again as well. The trench fries were good too. More of the larger size fries and they taste good. I did not try any of the cookies, but will next time. The online ordering system said ready in 25-30 minutes and it was ready right on time about 27 minutes. The outside is nicely lit at night, and there is seating available as well. Plenty of TVs inside showing the baseball game as well.

Yelp
I'm not sure about their other locations but this one doesn't impress. We live nearby and have eaten here a few times and I think we're slowly learning to go elsewhere. While the food is generally good and the staff is usually friendly, there are some issues: The prices are high. For example, a burger is about $15 and it comes with no sides. Add fries and you're looking at $20. If you order online and specify a future time for the order to be ready, don't be surprised if they make it right away and it sits waiting for you to pick it up. If I place the order at 4pm and specify that I want it ready at 5pm, I don't want the order ready at 4:15pm because then it just sits and gets cold and soggy. They've also missed parts of my order before. When I emailed them about it, using the email address they provide on the electronic receipt, I got an automated text back offering me $5 off my next purchase. OK, but what about reimbursing me for the missing food? It feels like they're trying too hard to look good without actually trying to do better.

Yelp
great empanadas! great service. Whole family loved it. Great atmosphere. would definitely go back.
google avatar

Dani S.

Yelp
Kind of pricey, food is pretty average. Came here one afternoon for early dinner, this place is a fast casual type of place, so you order at the counter and get a number and then you go sit down and wait for them to bring out the food. We ordered the En Fuego burger and aside of Brussel sprouts. As well as one chicken empanada and one beef empanada. The burger looks really good, but it was very disappointing in flavor. The bread was whatever, the meat was OK, everything was very underwhelming. The chicken empanada had no flavor whatsoever. And the beef empanada had good flavor but the crust was very dry. The brussels sprouts were swimming in a sugary sweet sauce that didn't taste very good. The ambience is nice, open big tables. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
google avatar

Alma N.

Yelp
The restaurant was very clean and spacious. Servers were very courteous. We had empanadas. Loved the beef empanadas with chimichurri. I had a hamburger and my husband had a sandwich. Both were delicious and satisfying. I also took some empanadas and cookies home. We had a nice lunch at Bushfire Kitchen.

Yelp
Bushfire is my go-to when I'm craving something healthy and hearty. Inside is very casual and it's an order at the counter kind of deal. Minus one star because over the years of ordering takeout, it hasn't always been great. To-go food seems older, less fresh, and smaller portions. I got the salmon bowl to-go today and the salmon is small, grey in the middle, and cooked to death even though I ordered medium rare. Rice tastes hard and old. I got the same thing and dined in recently and it was a larger portion of salmon and much fresher. I think some extra love needs to be put into to-go orders. Still love this place!
google avatar

Judy O.

Yelp
The salmon was like a party in your mouth only to be exceeded by the outstanding vegetables. The beer was cold and service excellent! If you are in the area, it's an excellent place for a heathy meal.
google avatar

Gary H.

Yelp
Completely incompetent operation. They need to shit down this place as this is the 3rd or 4th time they have completely gotten our family's order wrong after waiting an hour to be served. This was a last straw as you shouldn't get a headache from taking your family to dinner. Not sure what is going on here but the management needs to be visited by corporate. We will never be back. Family of 6.

Yelp
My wife and I see Bushfire every time we go to the Petco that's nearby. Yesterday we made our first stop there at 3:30, here's our experience. 1) atmosphere was good/comfortable 2) my wife ordered the Tuscan chicken sandwich 3) I ordered a chicken empanada and the grilled sweet potatoes -- The sandwich was marginal almost deli-like and it made us wonder how long the chicken had been around since it was merely lukewarm. I'd give it a 3 out of 10. -- The empanada was room temp and was dominated by a doughy pastry texture and flavor. 2 out of 10. -- the grilled sweet potatoes with agave were honestly not good. Tough, spongey and the visual side was that of 3 hours old and not fresh. 0 out of 10. -- There were several staff members most of whom didn't appear interested in maintaining the table area (our table was sticky) or the quality of the food. I wanted this to be a good experience but am challenged to ever go back.
