Butaco East Atlanta Village - Review - East Atlanta Village - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Butaco is a popular food truck that usually posts up outside of Buteco in Grant Park. But they've expanded with a new stall in the Southern Feedstore food hall in EAV. The exterior of the stall pays homage to its mobile roots with an outline of a truck complete with actual wheels and a side-view mirror. Order at the counter and choose from a variety of tacos served in corn tortillas like the spicy al pastor or opt for the crunchy shelled El Gringo with ground beef. The churros are skippable, but that’s fine ‘cause we can always snag a chocolate waffle for dessert from the Waffle Bar stall next door." - Juli Horsford

"The second location of Grant Park street taco spot Butaco opens Tuesday, June 13, inside Southern Feedstore in East Atlanta Village, joining sister stall Brazilian coffee and cocktail bar Buteco at the mini food hall. Taking over Gyro Gyro at Southern Feedstore, Butaco in East Atlanta Village expands upon the menu of the original location in Grant Park and includes both lunch and dinner. Butaco is also open until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights in East Atlanta Village. Expect street tacos stuffed with grilled shrimp, zucchini and charred tomatoes, and al pastor, street corn, a chopped salad, chips with salsa and queso, and a birria rice bowl tossed with black beans, lettuce, and fresh pico de gallo among the dishes at the Southern Feedstore location. There’s even quesabirria available." - Beth McKibben

I had the AL pastor barria tacos and they're were pretty good. I definitely enjoyed the barria dip. Next time I'll keep the pineapple salsa.

It was my first time here. Came in for lunch actually 4 days ago. I posted this review that day but it was flagged for some reason. My gf and I were very excited to try this place. We ordered 3 beef tacos, one steak and one shrimp all of them birria style, and an order of tots. Wanted to try the birria rice but it wasn’t ready and wasn’t going to be ready any time soon. We waited almost 30 minutes for mediocre tacos. The beef tacos with lettuce and tomato tasted like a Gordita crunch from Taco Bell. The way they made it was not birria at all. It was just greasy, lacking flavor, barely any cheese or cilantro and onion. Not to mention the steak was dry and flavorless. The shrimp was good but the shrimp taco was destroyed already and it just fell apart when I tried to eat it. Overall very disappointing order of birria tacos. Not to mention the customer service could’ve been better. This place won’t ever get my money again. Paid $30 for easily the worst tacos I’ve ever had, Taco Bell might be better. Not sure what they’re doing in that kitchen but they won’t see me again. If you’re looking for some real tacos go to Taco T or Casita Mexican because this place was an L.

These tacos are legit, definitely get them birria style, so effing good, making my mouth water just thinking about them. Chef Timmie was super sweet and gave the full break down on the style of tacos and offered recommendations. 10/10 don’t mess up and not check this place out

Fish and shrimp tacos were very tasty, the sauce was great I love corn tortillas and lime on the side, my mother said it was very good, she loved the freshness of the onion and lime on the side. Would recommend would eat again.

The corn was extremely tasty, tender, and hot! The Steak Birria Style tacos and the consommé was the most flavorful and tasty that I’ve ever had over a few different states and many places that I’ve tried them!

Pretty good tacos but on the small side as far as portions go. If youre hungry you may need 3-4 tacos to fill you but if you need a snack then 2 should be just enough. We enjoyed the rice and beans as well. You order inside and then pick up out at the food truck.

Yelp
It's Tuesday night and you find yourself in a mini food hall what do you do? The answer is simple; you find the place selling tacos. I have to say, Butaco did not disappoint and in fact everything was beyond what I expected. Let's start with the service; I believe the gentlemen that took my order, prepared my order, and provided a hospitable service was the owner. He said, he was from New York which was funny, because his food definitely has a Cali flare. So, I ordered the veggie tacos and a side of fries. Perfect combination of you're looking for something that is full of flavor but vegan friendly! You can also get the house made barbecue sauce and the habanero sauce if you really want to burn your mouth with a spicy hot sauce. I'm a heat seeker so it was perfect for me but this is not for everyone; don't play with fire kids. Ha The food was hot(cooked fresh) and was ready within 10 - 15 minutes after I placed my order. I'm was completely satisfied with this taco Tuesday meal and I would recommend this to anyone in the Atlanta area looking for something great to eat. Not to mention, there's live music in the establishment as well as other great looking food you can pair with your tacos! Thanks again Butaco! I'll be back in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. Ha
