We were visiting from out of town and needed a last minute reservation for a large group, this restaurant not only accommodated us quickly, but made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The steaks were absolutely phenomenal, perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Every dish we ordered, from the fresh, crisp salads to the flavorful appetizers, exceeded our expectations. You can really tell they use high quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve. If you’re anywhere near the area, don’t miss this restaurant, We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

Located at SoCo, this time dining establishment impressed us with its quality and service. I enjoyed one of the best burgers I have had in years, the steak was excellent. The wait staff was friendly and responsive, the food did not take long to arrive during lunch. They have a large selection of alcohol to choose from. The only potential downside is the price point, you are looking at spending $30-$50 per person. They have outdoor and indoor seating and a bar inside. If you are looking for an excellent meal and drinks look no further.

Absolutely incredible! From the warm, cozy ambiance to the exceptional service 😊, this place truly stands out. Their steaks 🥩 , sausages 🌭, and burgers 🍔 are hands down among the best in all of Orange County—each bite is a treat! 🍽️ Do yourself a favor and check it out—you’ll be thanking me later!

Google
Outstanding! Excellent service and food. Onion soup is awesome. Beautiful taste, not over salted. Perfect, I think he treats it like a reduction so the flavor is intense without having to compensate by salting. Beet salad with Endive. Great taste and quite refreshing. Highly recommend both. All vegetable side dishes were excellent. Had the greenbeens, the roasted potatoes, and roasted vegetables. All were beautifully prepared and tasted amazing. Mains on the table; Lamb Chops, and Branzino. Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Braznino, I didn't taste but 2 other said it was excellent. Deserts; chocolate mousse made different than any I've had before. Creamy rich, and the chocolate bubbles on top, I think a mix of dark, and dark-bitter chocolate bubbles. Was amazing, love it. Highly recommend. Apple Tart, again prepared differently than any I've had in the past and now the only way I want it. Awesome! The home made Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream is a beautiful silky creamy texture with deep vanilla flavor. Better, way better than a softened Hagen Daz vanilla bean. I also make my own vanilla cooked vanilla Ice Cream and I don't think I will ever bother again. I'll just stop by the restaurant and order an ice cream to go. Lol I met chef Jeoffrey. Very nice man. GREAT chef! Can't thank you enough for such a great dinner. Thank you!

Google
This is a nice little place in an interesting area. It was actually pretty crowded when we went on a Sunday, even though the rest of the area was not. I had the burger, but overall just thought it was alright. It got a little difficult to eat and fell apart/was messy, and the bun got a bit soggy. Overall enjoyable. The appetizers were good too

Google
This was a absolutely phenomenonal experience. We came here specifically to have the dry aged Ribeye and it was delicious. The location, atmosphere, service, and food went above and beyond. I highly recommend the butcher fries and the 30 day dry aged Ribeye. It's more than enough food to fill two people. I will be coming back here when I'm in the area.

Google
We enjoyed an excellent time with friends. The location is great, and their hospitality was pleasant. I am not sure if I would rate my NY stake highly, but other enjoyed their rib eyes. My wife wasn't very fond of her salad, but the Branzini was pretty good.

Google
Fantastic time, really loved the food and I’m not a steak lover. The ambiance was excellent, our server Leo (?) was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. I hope to come back soon! Also enjoyed a Lillet spritz, extra points for having that available!

Yelp
Get ready to be transported on a romantic date. The Butcher's house offers incredible. It's cooked to perfection. We had the filet minion with bearnaise, the half roast chicken and the burger. Each was delightful in their own way. Everything was flavorful and juicy without being too salty. The service is attentive. Would recommend reservations!

Yelp
This French steakhouse brasserie is nothing short of exceptional. The attention to detail in every dish shows the passion and expertise of the chef. The steaks are perfectly aged and cooked -- with that incredible crust and tenderness that only comes from true craftsmanship. The pork chop is juicy and flavorful, and the sausage is absolutely flawless. A true standout from the trendy rushed restaurants around. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting, with a friendly team that clearly cares about creating a top-notch experience. Every visit feels special, and it's clear the chef, owner, and team have poured their hearts into this place.

Yelp
Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 7.5/10 Food: 8/10 What we got: baguette with butter, a glass of the Bordeaux, raclette potatoes, the ribeye (medium rare), tallow fries, and the apple tarte. Everything came out pretty quickly and was very good. Our server was great but it was obvious they were understaffed for the evening (maybe because it was a Tuesday) and he was stretched thin, but he was helpful and very polite. We'll be back to try more of the menu!

Yelp
Well, for one it's super cute! And the food is super good. We had a Boudreaux with dinner and it was fantastic. We went on a week night so it wasn't too busy and the service was good. It is pretty small so it would be a good idea to make reservations on a weekend.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday evening with a group of friends with a reservation for 6:30pm. The space itself is on the smaller side with some outdoor and indoor seating. The decor is simple yet classy and it looks like an upscale place. Our server was Leo, who was super nice and accommodating. One of the people in my party asked him a million questions and he was so sweet. I was watching Emily in Paris earlier that day so I promptly ordered a Kir Royale as my beverage. Leo recommended the Butcher's House pâté and Rustic Carpaccio for starters. I wasn't in the mood for pâté so I got the beef carpaccio. It was tasty and good for sharing. For the entree, I got Branzino. It was light and fresh and I really enjoyed the sauce vierge. A friend ordered chocolate mousse so I decided I needed dessert as well and got creme brûlée. This was delightful. I actually really wanted the apple tart fine but it takes longer to prepare and I'm impatient. Overall, my dining experience here was great. I'd like to try some of the beef next time I go. I heard the Toulouse sausage is divine.

Yelp
If you're looking for great food, a dining experience without the pretentious, friendly staff and all at a reasonable price...GO TO BUTCHER'S HOUSE. We were seeking an upscale steakhouse to cerebrate our daughter's 30th bday. Found Butcher's House on Yelp and decided to give it a try. This quant spot inside SoCo is a few steps away from Susie's Cakes. I found this out once I went to collect the cake I ordered. Lucky for me the Butcher's House was open for lunch (on Sunday) and I was able to leave the cake with the staff for service later that night. We walked into this quite unassuming eatery. On chefs recommendation, we individually enjoyed 3 different pours, all of which were spot on to our separate wine tastes. Three of us started with burrata and bread service. Very tasty. If you haven't tasted French butter you're missing out. The hubs and I split the bone-in rib eye. Well, I had one piece and the bone and chose to compliment with the exceptional onion soup. Very traditional, flavorful and filling! One piece of meat went home. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. As someone who chooses not to eat red meat, I'll admit...it was out of this world. Our daughter's filet was cooked to perfection as well. She brought a hunk home. As for sides we agreed to share the halved Yukon gold potatoes smothered in raclette cheese and covered with prosciutto and Butcher's salad. Both incredible in flavor and size. Some potatoes came home. While the desserts looked good, Maddie (I think she was our delightful server) brought out the candle lite cake to surprise our daughter. I'd highly recommend this neighborhood gem!! Chill vibe, heated outdoor seating, stunning food...Bravo au chef! Je me suis régalée. I can't wait to go back. C'était délicieux!

Yelp
I went to Butcher's House Brasserie for a birthday dinner, and it was amazing! Our waiter (wish I remembered his name!) Vietnamese guy who spoke French) was so friendly and helpful--he gave us great recommendations! The place was beautiful, and the food was incredible. The dry-aged steak was the highlight--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. If you're looking for a spot to celebrate or just enjoy an amazing meal, this is it. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food 5/5: Butcher's House Brasserie has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Orange County. Every meal starts with their warm, crusty bread and butter--it's simple but so good--and their rich, flavorful onion soup, which sets the tone for an amazing meal. You really can't go wrong with any of the steaks here; we've personally tried the filet mignon and the New York steak, and both are exceptional--perfectly cooked, tender, and full of incredible flavor. The butcher's burger is also fantastic, and the merguez boulettes are a must-try if you're looking for something a little different with bold, delicious spices. Service 5/5: The service here is consistently excellent. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to offer great recommendations or answer questions. They create such a welcoming vibe that it's easy to relax and enjoy the meal without ever feeling rushed. Ambiance 5/5: The ambiance is cozy and stylish, striking the perfect balance for a date night or a special dinner with friends. The warm lighting and thoughtful decor make the space feel inviting but still sophisticated, making it easy to settle in and savor the entire experience. Butcher's House Brasserie is one of those rare places where everything comes together perfectly--amazing food, great service, and a cozy yet elevated atmosphere. If you're a steak lover or just looking for a memorable dining experience, this spot is a must-visit. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Friends had come here and raved about how delicious the steak was, so here we are. Came on a Friday evening, we changed our reservation last minute so they only had outdoor tables. However we were worried we we were going to be cold, so we asked if we could sit inside, as we didn't plan to be long. They were sweet enough to accommodate us. It was actually colder inside than outside as there we were the only ones inside. And the outside area had heaters, so good to know for next tine time. We ordered the 30 days dry aged bone Un prime ribeye 38 Oz for 2, with blue cheese, bearnaise and the peppercorn sauces. The steak was incredible. The dry age crust was so incredibly flavorful we didn't even need any sauces. However the peppercorn sauce was sp perfect with the steak. It took it to another level. For sides we had the raclette potatoes and the traditional fries. The traditional fries were very well seasoned and we asked for some aioli which was delicious together. The raclette potatoes I thought were a bit of a let down. However, our friends loved it. For starters we ordered the butchers salad - this salad was perfect to start our meal off. It was bitter but in all the best ways with the yummy dressing. For dessert we ordered the apple tarte fine. I expected this to be flakey and buttery. However it was not. It was hard to cut and chewy and the salted caramel was a touch over done, giving it a bitter taste. Our drinks we ordered a espresso martini and a mocktail. Both were really good. All in all we came here for the steak and that was amazing. Very cute restaurant - highly recommend.

Yelp
Definitely recommend! This was one of the best meals and experiences we've had! The food was superb. We went for brunch and got the French onion soup, pork chop and eggs, and the burger and it was better than we could have imagined. Also for more of a fine dining experience it's very affordable. Our French waitress was so kind and very helpful (I can't remember her name). We cannot wait to go back again!

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! My friend picked this place for our couples dinner. I had looked at the menu online and thought it seemed alright, wasn't super excited about it though. Fortunately, this ended up being one of the best meals I have had this year and I really want to go back! This is a tiny place, pretty cramped inside. Next time I would request outdoor seating. Our server was very slow in the beginning, but by the time the food started arriving, she was more attentive. For starters we had the Burrata and the Carpaccio. Both were FANTASTIC. Loved the honey roasted acorn squash and the pistachios that came with the burrata. The carpaccio - oh wow! When it was set in front of us we all commented on how thick it was. I decided to be the brave one and take the first bite. Yes, it's thick, but it's also grilled on one side so it isn't just a thick piece of raw beef. We all loved this appetizer, especially the gribiche sauce that topped it. One of my friends had their Sweet Gem salad and shared it with the table. I can never resist a grilled salad, and this was one of the best I have ever had, I couldn't stop sneaking bites off the plate. The dijon vinaigrette, prosciutto, and pickled onions made this salad delicious. For my main course I had the Hanger Steak with shallot sauce. Absolute perfection! I asked for it medium rare and it was spot on. The sauce was so rich and yummy, but I was fine eating the steak on it's own. I tried bites of everybody else's food - Beef Cheek, Ribeye with blue cheese sauce, and Toulouse Sausage with mashed potatoes - all wonderful. Our sides were Sautéed Green Beans and Butcher's Fries. The beans were excellent, soooo garlicky. I took the rest of them home to eat with my leftover steak the next day. Butcher's Fries had salty, thick, pieces of bacon on them and lots of cheese. Of course, we ordered dessert. Chocolate Mousse and Creme Brulee. Both were nice, on the "lighter" side which was great cause I was full and couldn't imagine eating a heavy dessert. I really liked the contrast of sweet and bitter crunchy chocolate pieces on top of the mousse. I didn't pay the bill, but I did notice the prices on the menu were much lower than I expected. My husband paid our half and said he was happy about how affordable this dinner was. I really do hope we come back here, it was such an excellent dinner!

Yelp
Everything is phenomenal. I love the butcher burger. The sausage with the potatoes puree is delicious. I've seen the branzino** and it looked amazing and the person eating it couldn't stop. I come here and enjoy a nice mocktail since I don't enjoy alcohol and get to have a nice healthy meal seed oil free and cooked in natural fats and butter. I'm so thankful this place exists. Wish more places existed that cooked with no seed oils and made delicious quality meals.

Yelp
For my husband's birthday this year, we went to Butcher's House Brasserie to celebrate. The restaurant is located near the SoCo Mix and is next door to Arc and Greenleaf. Because it was also Easter Sunday, we made reservations in advance not knowing if it would be busy or not. It wasn't busy but we had a table anyway. The restaurant has limited seating indoors and some seating on the patio as well. We checked in with the host and let him know we had a reservation. Caroline was our server and she was so nice. My in-laws joined us and we ordered some bread with butter to start. Then we ordered our entrees: Branzino, Duck Confit, NY steak with shallot wine sauce, and Filet Mignon with blue cheese sauce. We also ordered the Raclette Potatoes, Butcher's Fries, and Roasted Vegetables as sides. Everything was quite good. My MIL expressed that the filet was the best steak she has had in a long time. The potatoes were quite good with the melted cheese. My duck was so tender but I wasn't a fan of the beans it was served with. The steak was tender and juicy. I had a couple of bites from my husband's plate. For dessert we went all in and ordered the Chocolate Mousse, Creme Brulee, and Apple Tartin. They brought out the tart with a candle for my husband. It was quite nice. The desserts were delicious and we enjoyed everything. It was a lovely dinner. Thank you to Butcher's House for a fantastic meal.

Yelp
Food was good. Definitely returning to give their menu more of a chance. This place seems like it's got potential. We came on a Sunday evening so we had no problem finding parking and made reservations from their website. The service was straight forward nothing special but to the point. The restaurant is small and gives warm vibes. We sat outside and enjoyed their beautiful outdoor dining.

Yelp
Hole in the wall French eatery with good food and drinks! My fiancé and I came here for lunch on a Sunday. Not too crowded so we got a seat in the bar. Interior is dark with table and bar seating (outside tables available) like how the air conditioning wasn't overly strong like other restaurants. They had brunch menu when we came since it was the weeekend. For drinks my fiancé got the red cab and I got the seasonal rose pamplamousse. For food I got the croque madame ($18) and my fiancé got the French onion soup ($12) and steak salad ($21). The rose pamplamousse was one of the best spritz's I've had, I'm not a grapefruit fan but it wasn't overly acidic and sweet either, they also pour a generous amount. My croque madame was not overly salty or rich. Ham was fresh and cheese was melty. Came with a side salad as well. The French onion soup could have been sweeter but overall solid. The steak salad was rare but like how they didn't over dress it. Overall service is fast and food is delicious. Would love to try the apple pie my next visit!

Yelp
Walking into the restaurant, the lighting is dim and intimate. The bar is lively and the bartenders are smiling and serving up creative cocktails and glasses of wine. The waiters are quickly cleaning tables and setting them up for parties waiting to get a most sought out spot. While seated, the servers are attentive and warm. The food experience was delectable. Bread with French butter and a fromage platter to start, each flavor, salty and sweet for balance. We ordered the ribeye for two, with sides of potato with raclette cheese and butter lettuce with pickled onions and fresh parmesan. The steak, a true medium rare, had robust flavor, which was enhanced with the side of bernaise sauce. To end our meal, the apple tart with vanilla ice cream is a must have. The dessert was so good it's almost worth going for that dish alone. I am looking forward to coming back to try other specialties on the menu. I would recommend to make a reservation if visiting on the weekend evenings.

Yelp
We enjoyed another dinner at the Butcher's House. Their summer special appetiser with fermented green tomatoes, zesty ricotta and figs was the highlight: so fresh, sweet and savoury at the same time, with a bright citrus notes. Yum! We also tried their house made pâté, and had our favourite duck confit, half chicken entrees, and my husband couldn't resist a ribeye with a side of roasted potatoes and crunchy butter lettuce. Their server Adam was very attentive and knowledgeable about the seasonal menu changes. High quality food, great service and warm summer evening at the patio made our day.

Yelp
This is a fairly well-represented French-style bistro. The staff seem like they care, so the service is great. The food is better than you would expect, but a little less sophisticated than some of the other pricey French spots in town. If you are searching for a cool little bistro that will remind you of France with all the delicious flavors that matter I would definitely recommend checking this place out . It's a great date spot also as the vibe is cool and sexy. Everything I tried was excellent tasting, and if I closed my eyes, I could imagine myself on some side street in Paris. Also a fantastic brunch option!
google avatar

Vicki C.

Yelp
I got to try a bit of everything from the ribeye to the rack of lamb. I have to say though the pork chop was outstanding. Tons of flavor, soft and juicy with a nice crispy outer crust. I wish there was a bit more in the green beans side. I probably would opt for a different side next time which was topped with arugula. The fries with raclette and bacon was a meal in itself.

Yelp
Came here with my husband for a date night. Wanted to have French ish food. The servers and chefs speak French here! Nice and elegant restaurant. Christophe was our waiter and he was very helpful and attentive. Not much of a cocktail place but if you want an aperitif to start it is very well crafted. I had the sud orest sunset which is light and delicious. My husband got their martini that was clean and refined. The bartender looks like he's into making the cocktail and you can taste his care. The wine selections are nice from inexpensive bottles to fine. Food Ordered the pate and onion soup ( highly recommend the soup) to start. Excellent rustic pate with French baguettes great French starter I think. Really start the mood of having a French feast. I had the duck confit; flavorful fall of the bone duck with crispy skin to contrast the delicate duck texture surrounded with cassoulet style beans . Ordered side of butchers frits which is Fries, raclette cheese and bacon. Best pairing I think with our dish. Husband got the medium rare rib eye with peppercorn au jus. Succulent tender steak and lovely sauce to pair. We ended our meal with their crème brûlée. Creamy crème and a delicate toasted sugar on top. Great overall experience and very full. For sure will return to try other items on their menu. Also a great date place :)

Yelp
We have never been here before. It has great ratings but our experience was not what we expected. It was a small but quaint establishment. It had a small bar area. They had a nice wine list but we brought our own. The corkage was $30.00 which we found to be pricey. The decor was appealing. Our table for two people was small. We had to keep shifting items in our table to make room for food and drinks. We found it a bit odd to have a canister of salt on the table instead of being in a salt shaker. We had to purchase bread and butter as an app for $5.00. We found this to be odd as well. We hoped the food would be worth the extras. Sadly, we were disappointed. We ordered a 38 ounce 30 day dry-aged bone-in ribeye. It had way too much fat in it. Every bite I cute had fat. The Raclette potatoes we ordered was not very creamy as described. It came hot to the table and looked creamy but as the cheese cooled down, it was like eating globs of cheese. We would not order this again. The sautéed green beans were delicious. The service was good and our waitress was nice. Overall, for what we paid, we were not happy. We love eating a good steak but ours was not good. We would not order this meal again. We ended up paying $216.59 and it was not satisfying at all.

Yelp
Located in the SoCo plaza in Costa Mesa (an ever increasing source of hidden gem food options) lord this brunch and dinner option. The ambience is casual and comfortable in this cozy establishment. The service is polite and pleasant. The food is modern American- the croque madame had fresh ingredient and was satisfying if not filling vs. the steak and eggs is more substantial and gratifying albeit the meat was slightly overcooked but the eggs, potatoes, and toast all are worthy compliments.

Yelp
Good food and atmosphere. We went for lunch and got the steak and it was really tasty and well aged. It's a cute little place and the server was attentive. Will be back when I have a chance.

Yelp
10/06/2023 Hubby and I came here for a date night with my cousins. It's a small, cozy place in the SoCo Plaza in Costa Mesa. We had a 6:30 PM reservation. There are about seven or eight tables inside and outdoor/patio dining as well. Our server was Remy, who was very friendly and informative, and on top of his serving game with great suggestions this evening. I had the grilled Branzino which was grilled well, seasoned perfectly and very delicious. I had an order of the Butcher's Fries as my side, which was like cheese fries with bacon. It was okay. I couldn't eat it fast enough so the cheese hardened. Of course hubby picked off most of the bacon and I ate most of the fries with cheese. Hubby had the New York Steak with Peppercorn Sauce. Cooked perfectly! The steak didn't need a sauce but his side of petite potatoes tasted yummy when you dipped them in it. Cocktails were good and since we couldn't decide on one dessert we ordered all of them - crème brûlée, apple, tart, and the mixed berry crumble. ALL WERE SO DELICIOUS!!! A great date night or celebration restaurant. Too bad none of the stores were open after we finished dinner, but we were able to walk around and look at all the stores that were closed. CON: One single use bathroom

Yelp
Beef Carpaccio: I would eat this for breakfast everyday if I could. (5/5) Rack of Lamb: I like how this tastes with the peppercorn sauce. (5/5) Duck Confit: The duck was nicely tender. (4/5)

Yelp
Our group of four arrived without a reservation and the only available seating was at the bar for a Wednesday! Note to self: try booking something in advanced if you know you're coming here. Thankfully, the bar was L-shaped so it worked out for us to still hold a conversation without having to re-arrange ourselves. We settled into our seats and the bar area has hooks beneath the table to hang your purse. Really nice to have when the bar seats do not have a backing to secure a purse, especially when your back is toward the door. The host that seated us also served us and she was an absolute delight! I didn't want anything too heavy, so I decided to go with the Toulouse Sausage (pork sausage served with au jus mashed potatoes). There's one stuffed with bleu cheese for an extra $1. I'm pretty certain I chose the regular version, but I think mine had small portion that had a filling. It was really good, so if you love that funky flavor, it pairs really nicely with the pork! Friends had the House burger that is comprised of dry-aged beef, nueske bacon, house sauce, confit onions, lettuce and conte cheese served with fries and garlic aioli. If you want spicy mayo, it will be $1 extra! Looked like a solid portion and will have to try that next time. Overall, good variety of options and very interested in returning to try their Butcher's Choice options. They have a nice meat fridge on display toward the back of the restaurant, or on the way to the restroom, so I will have to check that out next time.

Yelp
We came here for dinner. Made our reservation for Saturday. Absolutely recommend making one as it was busy. The ambiance is delightful, moody, and welcoming. We had Adam as our server for the night, he was attentive and friendly. We ordered the Carpaccio, it was phenomenal! I got the Duck Confit and a butter lettuce salad, my boyfriend got a New York with peppercorn sauce and the roasted potatoes. The meal was so good. We ordered the apple tarte for dessert. The entire meal was wonderful. Great price point for the entire experience.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Butcher's House. We were brought here by my SIL and celebrated our families birthdays. They come often and highly recommended the food here. We ordered a little bit of everything and I have to say they were not kidding, everything was delicious! From the veggies to the fries and the steaks. Our server was also so sweet and was checking up on us often. We sat right outside the restaurant and it was a rain night and we had heat lamps, it was just the perfect ambiance. I highly recommend their steaks, any of them really. I got to try a the hanger and some of the Ribeye, so good. You also have some sauce options to go with your meat. You can ask for more than one and we got the Shallot and Béarnaise. I highly recommend both. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here, it's all made with effort and great ingredients. We're not in the area often, but if given the opportunity I would definitely be back, especially to try their weekend brunch.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Clean food! They cook with health animal fats. Lots of things on the menu work for Nourishing Traditions and GAPS folks. Friendly staff. There's always someone there that speaks fluent French and will let me practice with them. (That's a plus!) The blonde American waiter who speaks fluent French and English is super nice. Beautiful decor. Incredibly yummy cuisine. My husband is addicted to their duck confit. Definitely worth trying. Inside and outside seating. Good selection of wines. Healthy meats. We love this establishment!

Yelp
Do you want a French Brasserie experience? Go here. It is French, French, French! And it's excellent. They have the MEAT!!!! Great friendly staff- leave your French snobby stereotypes at the door. All French wine menu and even French beer! Did I mention the meat?

Yelp
This was such an amazing meal! It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday night which I hope changes - this should be a hot spot for dinner. Service was great; helpful and just attentive enough. They were out of the wine I wanted to order, but the alternative they suggested was delicious. Unfortunately I think this is why my photos were a wee bit blurry :) We got a couple appetizers, meats, and sides and enjoyed absolutely every bite of the meal. We will definitely be returning. - Burrata: this had delicata squash, pesto and greens and was served with tasty freshly grilled bread. - Rustic Carpaccio: this was a thicker cut carpaccio than we were used to which I think was due to it being grilled. So worth it! They achieved just the right amount of smokiness in the beef, and the sauce was absolutely delicious - Hanger Steak: our favorite from the night. Super well executed and seasoned. - Lamb Rack: I loved how simply they treated this lamb rack; they really let the meat itself shine. Loved it! - Butcher's Fries: the bacon was flawlessly executed, just on the cusp of almost burnt - perfect crunch to go with the cheese and fries. If you don't like crunchy bacon, we can't be friends, I'm very sorry. The cheese was delicious and every bite was great. - Butter Lettuce: we got this to cut through the richness of the fats from the meats and the fries and we were so glad we did. My only complaint is that some of the leaves were too big, so I wish it was cut smaller. Everything was nice and hot and fresh from the kitchen, and we really enjoyed the entire meal. We ordered the shallot and the peppercorn sauces along with the meats, and they were fantastic. We enjoyed the meats and the fries dipped into the sauces. The shallot in particular reminded me of a really tasty gravy. Don't hesitate - check this place out if you like good food (especially good meat)!

Yelp
This is like the third time that we've been here at this little French restaurant in the SoCal area. The food and the attendance are real authentic French. We love the butter and the bread that is served at the start of the meal. The appetizers were excellent in our picture. We enjoyed both dishes. And the steak oh my goodness is savory. Oh Mami, and best eaten slowly to taste the age beef flavoring. The addition of sauce is an option because the beef is already so very good. But cutting the beef and small pieces and dipping in the sauce is an excellent addition to the flavor profile. We had French Bordeaux wine, which paired very well and not very expensive. We brought in a bottle of wine but since corkers free is $30 and their bottle of Bordeaux is about $50 we opted for the Bordeaux. Our reservation was at 5 PM, but they had another reservation at 7 PM therefore we proceeded quickly to our dessert by the request of our waitress. Next time we request for a longer seating.

Yelp
Located in a small plaza- this is a must try place. Their steak is cooked to perfection and roasted potatoes are cooked in duck fat! Yum! We were told the sausage is consider an appetizer and is similar to what can be tasted in France. This dish did not disappoint and the mash potatoes that came along with it is to excellent. Our server, Remy was excellent in describing the various dishes and very attentive. Parking was easy to find. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
Just had the best spontaneous lunch I think ever! The sausage, steak frites & crème brûlée were perfect! I can't believe how delicious the sauce was with the steak & the fries were exactly right. The service was also top notch. Can't wait to come back for dinner!

Yelp
Love, LOVE this place for brunch! This perfect location being in the SoCo courtyard and The OC Mix for our shopping needs supporting our local owners was a great option for the day. The prompt service at noon with Brianna for choice of indoor or outside seating immediately for brunch was perfect. She made sure the tables were spot cleaned. The 5th star was the great recommended entrees plus the ambience outside to get the vitamin D we needed. Recommendations we ordered were: Croque Madame BH Style $16 Rustic bread, Bechamel, jambon de Paris, Comté cheese, Prosciutto, sunny side egg (So delicious - I would crave this again) Toulouse Sausage with Blue Cheese $18 Blue cheese added to the sausage & served with peppercorn sauce (One word: yummy) French Toast $12 Brioche, fresh berries, salted caramel sauce (great flavors, enjoyed this too) Latte and the espresso with chocolate: the perfect way to start the day off from labor! Service was excellent from Christophe who's also French and funny adding our compliments for this review to Chef Geoffrey (who is married to Brianna). Will definitely be back to try their dinner entrees! See you again BHB!

Yelp
All I wanna say is, the chefs know what they're doing. We ordered the lamb rack (medium), and hanger steak (medium rare). DELICIOUS! Perfectly cooked. The only thing I didn't quite enjoy was the sauces we chose which was the spicy mayo and peppercorn sauce. (I'd rather eat the steaks alone bc it's so good!) Before we got our food we thought we weren't gonna finish everything it was a piece of cake to devour. We also tried the burrata appetizer and the flavors were great. The mashed potatoes were so buttery here, it's a must have whenever I eat steak! The customer service and vibes are very nice, perfect for date night.

Yelp
Fabulous, authentic French steak house in Costa Mesa! Really vibey, intimate setting with a fantastic wine selection & cocktail menu. The food is outstanding (we shared everything between 3 people); bread & butter, burrata starter, little gem salad, bone-in NY strip steak, butcher's fries, and crème brûlée. We enjoyed our waitress's wine & food recommendation and waiter's personality!

Yelp
We discovered this authentic French restaurant by accident while shopping in SoCo. The French specialties like the saucisses de Toulouse are amazing, so is the duck confit. This is the kind of food my mother cooked. Unpretentious and authentic. We have been going regularly and we just love the food. For anyone who loves French food, I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I stopped by this French brasserie for a week day lunch with my brother. The seating inside consists of a long aisle of tables with one side having cushioned seating and the other side having extremely uncomfortable cheap $10 kitchen chairs. There is a bar inside as well as patio seating which I'm sure would be the preferred seating in the evening. Items here are served a la carte so I went with the hangar steak. Hangar steak (8oz. - $32) - The steak was lightly seasoned and woodfire grilled to a perfect medium rare as I requested. 1 sauce is included with the meal so I went with the peppercorn sauce and paid extra for their bleu cheese sauce. The sauces were a HUGE disappointment! The consistency was so thin and they really lacked flavor. Sadly the steak was also flavorless. Organic Chicken ($24 - 1/2 chicken) - This is what my brother ordered and it looked really plain and flavorless. Overall I was disappointed in the tasteless food and the pricing. The cheap indoor seating definitely needs to improve especially with the pricing they are charging here. Service is ok.

Yelp
Nice small French-style steak restaurant with a small, but very inviting menu. The 6 oz. Filet and Duck Confit were excellent. Butcher's Fries with cheese and bacon was good, but would benefit from a cheese that would stay soft, rather than harden up. Service was very good.

Yelp
It's possible our expectations were too high when we finally made it over here for dinner last night. I'd heard it had been hailed as the best new restaurant in OC, which would set the bar unfairly high for almost any place. Our experience: the Butcher's Burger and traditional fries were fantastic - the dry-aged meat in the burger is the star here and it feels like the whole thing is kind of built around that, and the fries were the perfect size and consistency to go with it - but the grilled eggplant (a special) was too chewy to cut easily even with a steak knife, and the ribeye was the biggest disappointment of the night. I am firmly in the "don't pre-cut my steak" camp, and if I had known the ribeye would come out like that, I would've requested it not be. The flavor was OK but each bite was frustratingly tougher and drier and colder than the last. One last note: the menu states that "all substitutions will be politely declined" which is fine and good, but is pretty limiting if every salad has either the same dijon dressing or blue cheese and someone in your party doesn't like those. We confirmed the no-substitutions theory when we asked for a different dressing and were told it was impossible. In short, we'd come back for the burger, the fries, and the nice patio, but definitely not the steak.
