The best place in Chicago to go for sushi and Thai food, hands down!!! It is always my go-to, and everything I have tried on the menu has been a banger! One of my favorite places to go if you're craving Asian food and are a vegetarian - it's so accommodating and amazing for those with dietary restrictions!!
Located off Grand avenue, there is plenty of street parking available around. You walk in and are greeted where you then proceed to sit either at their outdoor seating or indoors. I ordered a starter as I waited for the other guests in my party to arrive - the tofu peanut. I would say this is the only part of my order that I felt was not worth the price, but if you're super hungry and need something to hold you over until the main course meals, then it's ok. It was served kebob style and was flavorful, just not worth $3.
Whenever I come here, I always order one of the Thai curries. Especially in the Chicago winter here, their Thai curries are the best I've tried around and so comforting. This time around, however, I tried other items on the menu. We ordered the Spicy basil noodle with tofu, and the Godzilla roll vegetarian! I have always appreciated how the staff is upfront, honest, and reminds you of whatever dietary restrictions you may have. It's so easy to customize as well in case you were curious about a particular dish and wanted to modify.
Wow - were these dishes delicious!!! They were both amazing, but my personal favorite was the sushi roll. It was flavorful, loaded with veggies, and topped with a sweet "eel" sauce (not actual eel!!) that made it perfect! If you are a flat noodle lover, then you will love the noodle dishes. The dish we ordered wasn't overly oily or slimy, had plenty of tofu and vegetables included, and was spicy on request! Perhaps my favorite part about this place would be the portion sizes. You get SO much food for the price you pay, and I hope that never changes about this place.
All in all, an essay later, I HIGHLY recommend you at least try this place. One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and I miss it when I'm out of town. But fair warning - you'll be addicted!!
