Jason Santos’s Buttermilk & Bourbon Southern Restaurant Opens in Watertown | Eater Boston

"Chef Jason Santos’s New Orleans–inspired, playful take on Southern cuisine opened a second location in Arsenal Yards, emphasizing fun and creative liberty rather than strict authenticity. The restaurant highlights an expanded oyster program — including roasted oysters with chargrilled butter and romano crumbs (inspired by Felix’s), oysters Rockefeller, Buffalo fried oysters, and raw bar items — cooked in a Marra Forni brick oven. Staples from the original menu appear alongside standout small plates: Aged Gouda Mac ‘n’ Cheese (made with high-quality aged gouda, pork scraps, and a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos crust), a Red Apple Wedge with slab bacon and mild Clemson University blue cheese topped with candied walnuts and shaved apple, Spicy Fried Cauliflower finished with a red jalapeño vinaigrette and whipped goat’s milk feta, Cast Iron Baked Brie with caramelized onions, Steen’s Syrup, gooseberries, spiced pecans and Iggy’s grilled bread, and Slow Roasted Baby Back Ribs finished with a Carolina mustard barbecue sauce, pickled cherry peppers, and long-time potato salad. The space includes a three-season patio, a fireplace, and live music, and the beverage program features nearly 20 bourbons plus rye, scotch, beer, cider, wine and cocktails (including frozen options, hurricanes on tap, and bourbon-forward drinks like a chocolate praline Old Fashioned). Dinner service begins daily at 5 p.m., with lunch and Sunday brunch to be added and reservations available online." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Suburban Expansion of Boston Restaurants During the Pandemic | Eater Boston

"A New Orleans–inspired restaurant that opened in Boston’s Back Bay in early 2017 and is slated to expand into Watertown’s Arsenal Yards in early 2021, taking roughly 3,000 square feet in the large mixed-use development. Customers at the original location praise the fried chicken (notably the Nashville-hot preparation) and the honey-glazed biscuits, and the spot is known for a substantial bourbon selection—an offering the new outpost is expected to bring with it." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

The menus items are fusion of different cuisine, which are quite fun to try. All dishes are medium sized tapas style, each person probably needs about 1.5 dishes. The alligator meat is exotic, and tastes quite nice. There are other dishes that are a little salty and too strong in flavor that left a strange after taste, hence the four stars for the food. We did not finish the duck and the ribs.

Great brunch! I was there with a large party, and the service was excellent. I got the scramble, delicious! The friend chicken and waffles were also very good. Don’t miss the beignets either! Amazing southern classics

Google
10/10. Love the vibe. Food was incredible. And the size of the tapas were large. Drinks were out standing. Loved the decor. I can't wait to return. Recommend making a reservation in advance. Free parking garage as well!

Southern Comfort foods with a Bourbon Twist: Buttermilk & Bourbon in the Arsenal Yards brings a taste of the South to Watertown with its flavorful, comfort-driven menu. The vibe is warm and inviting —great for casual dinners or weekend brunch. Highlights: ✔ Southern-inspired dishes – Rich, satisfying flavors with creative twists ✔ Cocktails – A fun mix of classic and bourbon-based drinks (worth trying!) ✔ Atmosphere – Stylish yet relaxed, perfect for groups Room for improvement: - Some dishes could use a bit more boldness to match authentic Southern depth - Service was friendly but occasionally slow during peak times with food coming in randomly from kitchen Overall, a good experience—great for bourbon lovers and anyone craving hearty Southern fare. Would return for the biscuits and creative drinks alone! 🥃

Google
Loved the atmosphere—super trendy and well-designed space! Ordered the Honey Glazed biscuits to start and they were insanely good—some of the best. The Wagyu sliders were great—juicy and flavorful. The Beignets, though, were a miss. Burned and greasy. Would skip those next time. Still worth going for the vibe and those biscuits alone!

Google
Beautiful space! Good service. Ok food. I went for brunch and had the sausage scramble. The sausage was overcooked and dry. The tots were over fried. I didn’t like the jelly on top which is probably just a style thing. The biscuits were very good. I appreciated the hunk of butter on top of the grits. I will give it a shot for dinner sometime.

We had an amazing meal at Buttermilk & Bourbon! The Pornstar Martini was 10/10 and the fried pickles are probably the best I've had in Boston. My partner loved the catfish. Paulina was a great server and very attentive! Love this location and have been a few times and it's always great.

Google
Ah, this one's a favorite! My partner and I tried the one in Boston, and were so pleased with it that we decided to stop by at this branch. Amazing cocktails like always! Took the elixir (bourbon, ginger bear, lemon, honey cayenne and torched rosemary) and the moonflower (gin, St. germain, orange Curacao, herbsaint, butterfly tea, and lime) and enjoyed 'em both! (Though liked moonflower slightly better - since it felt like the perfect drink for a spring evening). Decor was Gothic and uber cool. Our bartender was also super sweet and warm!

Yelp
Enjoyed this one! A medium to large venue with an outdoor seating area. It's inside of a new shopping complex. There are what appears to be two garages & some limited time parking, with the most being 90mins at the end of the strip. The venue is bright, yet a lot of earth and wood tones. Definitely plays into the Bourbon Theme, although more like Bourbon street as in the food has a New Orleans & Southern style to it. The food was AMAZING!! Enjoyed every thing that we had. Staff were friendly and accommodating, service was top notch. We had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with the waffle subbed out for the Signature Warm Honey Glazed Biscuits, Southern Style Greens, Biscuits & Gravy, & the Thick Cut Bacon. I say again, everything was amazing. The thick cut bacon is legit just regular bacon, but it was still good, lol. We also have a Bellini and the house Sangria. This place makes the list of places to visit again next time I'm in Massachusetts. Grades: Buttermilk Fried Chicken: A+ Signature Warm Honey Glazed Biscuits: A++ Southern Style Greens: A++ Biscuits & Gravy: A+ Thick Cut Bacon: B+ Sangria: A Bellini: B+

Yelp
I went in there today joined by my friend, having made reservations after viewing the menu online. Upon arrival, we were hit by a wall of sound so loud I could not hear the hostess who was about 3 feet in front of me. I asked her if the "music" is always this loud and she smiled and nodded yes. She found us a very nice table , but I couldn't even hear anything my friend was saying; it was unbearable (I bet the corporate computer can't even lower the music). After waiting for a server that seemed like a millennium, we decided to leave and had a nice meal at City Works. Great place if you're deaf and know sign language, but forget having a conversation. I can't speak for the food. It might be great, but I'll never know.

Yelp
Let me just say this--I'm hooked. Buttermilk & Bourbon in Watertown is one of those places where every dish that hits the table makes you pause, take a bite, and go, "Wait... this is insane." The vibe? Southern charm with serious swagger. From the moment you walk in, it's got that sultry, moody New Orleans feel--dim lighting, funky decor, and just the right amount of edge. You could roll in dressed up or laid-back and still feel like you belong. Now the food... every. single. dish. is a knockout. From the buttermilk fried chicken to the honey-glazed biscuits to the creamy grits, crispy Brussels, and crawfish mac--it's like flavor overload in the best way possible. Rich, comforting, and just straight-up delicious. I haven't met a plate here I didn't like--and trust, I've tried a lot of them. The drinks are just as impressive--playful, bold, and strong enough to keep the night going. And the service? Friendly, fast, and happy to recommend a favorite (which is hard, because everything's a favorite). Buttermilk & Bourbon is the kind of spot that keeps you coming back--not just for the food, but for the whole experience. If you haven't been, go. If you have, you already know.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally got the chance -- but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and it was just okay. The chicken was crispy but lacked standout flavor, and the waffle was soggy. For $22, I expected more. Service was sit-down, but pretty minimal. No one rushed me, but it was very much a "here's your order, here's your receipt" kind of vibe -- not much interaction or attentiveness throughout the meal. The baked mac and cheese was cheesy and solid, probably the highlight of the meal. But still not enough to make me eager to come back. No complimentary bread, and $18 for a basket of biscuits felt excessive. Glad I finally got to try it, but nothing about the experience made me want to return or recommend it.

Yelp
This place has been on my "to visit" list for years and I finally arrived...and I'm so glad I did! While not every dish was perfection, the totality of the experience was top notch and deserving of five stars. The Watertown location is a bit hard to find and, if you are using GPS, be prepared for some harrowing quick turns and maneuvering that will make you question whether it is worth it. But trust me, it is! When I finally arrived and parked in the free parking garage, I got a bit turned around when the elevator let me out inside the Rosche grocery store. But I eventually made it out and to the restaurant that is below the garage and beside the grocery store. It has a somewhat dark but festive vibe, with old school top forty music setting the mood. The food had a southern flair that the very pleasant waitress said is Louisiana inspired. I started with the biscuits and OMG were they savory, soft and with a bit of upper crust crunch delicious! They provide a couple of spreads, and the cinnamon butter was my favorite. I also tried the BBQ ribs, which were tender and perfectly seasoned and glazed. The fried chicken sliders were also glazed and the glaze on them was a bit too much. But they too were tender and very large for a slider. They are definitely worth sharing with your table mate(s). The BBQ shrimp was delicious as well but not very plentiful. I tried a couple of sides, specifically the greens (wonderful) and jalapeño grits (just ok but not special). The honey butter old fashioned was a nice rendition of a timeless classic, and the elixir bourbon was equally delicious. While I wanted to try the bread pudding or the beignets, I was too stuffed. I guess that will have to be a future visit. I certainly see B&B in my future!!!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this spot. The vibe is Nola and the food is outstanding. We had the chicken sliders, duck confit, and the beignets. Everything was fresh and tasty. The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried. The duck confit was amazing. Also tried the Blue Voodoo IPA collab with the chef/owner who was also on site running the kitchen. Definitely recommend and will return next time we're in Watertown.

Yelp
The restaurant is tapas style meaning they bring the food out as it is ready versus bringing everything out at the same time. It opens at 5:00 for dinners. Since I arrived at 4:39, I sat at the bar. The parking is limited. Everything is a late carte meaning everything is ordered individually. The sides are ordered separately from the entrees. This place is relatively new opening just after Covid. I ordered the marinated swordfish with potato salad. I was hungry afterwards so side orders are definitely necessary If you go here make sure to order the sides or multiple entrees.

Yelp
We visited Buttermilk & Bourbon in Watertown with a group of six: four kids and two adults. The restaurant follows a tapas-style approach, meaning dishes come in small portions, which didn't work well for our larger party. It quickly became expensive. For instance, we had to order five servings of the crawfish hush puppies at $12 each. While the food was good, it wasn't particularly filling, so be prepared to spend a lot if you're looking for a satisfying meal. The drinks, however, were a highlight--strong and well-made. I had the spiked hot chocolate (likely a seasonal option for the holidays), and it was both rich and potent. Overall, I'd recommend Buttermilk Bourbon for the quality of the food and drinks, but it's probably best suited for smaller groups or adults-only outings rather than dining with kids.

Yelp
Back again for Sunday brunch! The ambience is thriving, although the din makes it a little difficult to hear one's dining partners. Our server Luke was personable and efficient, bringing our drinks a starter right away. I had Peach, Please which was a lucious combo of tequilla and peach something. We started with the incomparable biscuits. If you like biscuits these are not to be believed, large, warm, soft, with a light sweet topping. Served with honey butter and a cheese spread. We did not leave a crumb and were far less hungry than when we arrived but could not resist the next course. We three ordered the chicken and waffles, with two of us asking for regular maple syrup instead of the spicy syrup it comes with. The waffles were just the right amount of done-ness, but the chicken was the star, with a light fried coating of tender and juicy chicken. We'd mentioned our friend's birthday late in the game (she was opening a present) and Luke surprised us with a small serving of lemon custard with a candle in it. The custard was creamy and delicious. I was surprised to see a charge of $1 for it on the bill as we hadn't ordered it and usually when restaurants provide a birthday unasked it is gratis. But, small things which didn't mar the experience. Parking is easy, there is a very large free garage next door, as well as a few smaller outdoor lots in the complex. We will be back!

Yelp
This was my first time trying southern comfort food, and I was honestly blown away. The food in Buttermilk and Bourbon is absolutely delicious. It's all so fresh, and the taste of the food is exceptional. I have to give a special mention to the biscuits - they were so crumbly and delicious and they melted in my mouth, and the cauliflower was bursting with flavor - I was so sad when we finished it! The restaurant itself has such a nice, elegant vibe, and it's also very relaxed and cozy, and it has a beautiful interior, which adds to the already amazing dining experience. The service is also incredible - our server was so friendly and considerate, and he made the experience even better. I loved Buttermilk and Bourbon - it's the perfect spot for comfort food to share with friends or family. I am sure I will be returning soon!

Yelp
Decent place to grab lunch and a beer. Tuna tartare, and alligator fries were decent starters. However, the Nashville hot chicken was not even dipped in hot sauce , which was very odd. Some hits and misses at this place. Service was friendly.

Yelp
I really wished I would have taken pictures, it was the best meal I've had in a long time. My daughter and I split the meals so we could sample a few different things, we started with Wagyu burgers sliders, which were very good, then the wilted garlic spinach and buttered Jalapeño grits were both solid choices. Then the wonderful honey glazed biscuits and fried chicken thighs with white BBQ sauce were to die for!! I'll be dreaming about this meal when I leave Boston and go back to Utah. For dessert we got the peach and graham bread pudding with raspberry mousse, which was another amazing trip for my taste buds. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back next time I visit my daughter. We also took home enough leftover food for my daughter to have it for another meal. Our server was wonderful and answered all our questions and gave suggestions which perfected our experience! We also sat outdoors and there were several lights strung up, which really gave it a cozy atmosphere and the weather was perfect after 8pm on an August night.

Yelp
Above average across the board, I had no complaints other than the kitchen closing and the staff still trying to ply you with drinks. My want for a dessert was met with a "no", but offered drinks. Service was A1, server was very attentive. He was floating around but the coworkers had his back and made sure his tables were good. Good teamwork guys. Ambiance felt cozy, almost like a speakeasy. Before I forget, the jalapeño grits are super valid, meaning extremely good...My favorite part of my meal

Yelp
OMG! What a great first experience at Buttermilk & Bourbon. The food was next level- we got oysters, dirty fries and the wagyu burger. Absolutely delicious! Service was top notch. From the hostess to our server Luke it was a 10/10. Luke was one of the most personable servers we have ever had, was polite, kind, talkative and truly cared about making our experience great. The ambiance was also amazing. From the music to the decor it just felt like a cool vibe that we enjoyed. It was an amazing experience, and we cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner with some friends. We had a reservation for 6pm and was sat promptly. We sat at a weird half moon table that faced out so it was a little awkward for talking but was good for food sharing! We ordered a lot of sharing plates but I felt like the biggest stand out was the chicken (as it should be!)! It was so good, crispy was a good amount for everyone. The biscuits were also sooo good they had a sweet butter and a pimento cheese butter and it was so good! Everything else was very mid would go back but nothing super stand out. Though it was quite loud it was a great place to celebrate my friends birthday! Would recommend!

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Service: 2/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Visited with my sister, who's gluten free. She got sides, the scrambled eggs, bacon, and grits. The grits and eggs needed seasoning. We didn't eat much of the grits as we didn't like the flavor at all. I got the French toast and tried some beignets. My dishes were way better. So get the specials, not the sides. As for service, it was super lackluster. Our waiter didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink first off. Then it took forever to get salt and pepper for the eggs. Our waiter just seemed like he didn't care at all lol. The patio is nice for the summer, so that was a positive. Very mid overall and don't go for a good service experience.

Yelp
We came in for brunch right when the restaurant opened and luckily got a table with no reservations! My friends and I ordered some coffees and they were alright. We also got the biscuits for the table and I ordered the brisket hash. It was okay, but a little salty. I wish there was more brisket in it. The pieces of beef were pretty small and a little dry. The potatoes were fine, but overall it was pretty vinegary with the pepperoncinis. The blueberry pancakes were great, though! Very fluffy and perfectly sized. The restaurant got pretty busy pretty quickly, probably for brunch. I wish they did brunch on Saturdays too! Overall a nice meal, but it could've been better.

Yelp
I have no clue why this place isn't higher rated here on Yelp. The four of us had an outstanding Saturday dinner a few weeks ago. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly (had reservations). Easy parking. The restaurant is gorgeous. We were immediately brought water and promptly ordered drinks, which were all good when they shortly arrived. The menu is not large but had plenty of really good sounding items. We narrowed down our choices to sharing the biscuits, the brisket nachos, carrot "salad" and a tater tot special of the night. Doesn't sound like a lot for four people, but it was just right for four people. Favorite had to be the amazing tot dish. They MUST add this to the permanent menu! We all loved the brisket nachos and the biscuits certainly lived up to their mammoth delicious reputation. Note: if the menu calls for pickled onions of any kind, just go ahead and order it. They know how to make them and it adds to everything. The only slight disappointment were the carrots. They were just not what was expected. Not a salad at all. But beautifully roasted carrots. Very rich. Still very good, but no one fought me for the rest of them. All the food is rich, but surprisingly the prices are not for rich folks. For the four of us, the total bill (before tip) was only $115. A STEAL in this part of the world for this quality.

Yelp
A fine taste of Southern hospitality delivered in abundance by none other than chef Jason Santos. Charming, vibrant, and nicely decorated atmosphere delivering a cozy southern trademark ambience. With an exquisite menu channeling the love of New Orleans, you're transported straight to the Bayou via the delicious offerings drawing from its well known southern influences. Thank you kindly to chef de cuisine Jeff Decandia for delivering us a wonderful taste of the Bayou. GRILLED HANGAR STEAK A perfectly cooked mid-rare steak served with grilled vegetable fregola, delicious smoked paprika chimichurri & crispy shallots. This dish packs a combination of incredible flavors. WAGYU BURGER SLIDERS Alas, this dish did not deliver the wow factor I was hoping for. Finely cooked patties with griddled red onion, American cheese, shredded lettuce & dill pickle aioli. This dish was somewhat bland compared to the others and the experience we were hoping to feel from that very first bite. P.E.I MUSSEL FRITES A generous portion of mussels dipped in a hard cider, leeks, crème fraiche & roasted chile butter sauce. An extraordinary combination of flavors that certainly deliver a taste of the Bayou. HEIRLOOM TOMATO & ARUGULA SALAD goat's milk feta, Kalamata olives, red onion, cucumber, red wine vinaigrette. The freshest tomatoes I've ever had.

Yelp
5/5 Honey butter biscuit is the besssttttt 4/5 Pulled pork poutine Southern food, tapas style Had made a dinner reservation at this location with a group of friends and tried an assortment of dishes. I would highly recommend an order of the honey butter biscuits. They are amazing! Freshly made with sticky honey glaze on the crispy top of the warm biscuit plus the spread of the honey cinnamon butter - so good! Overall, the service as ok. We didn't have any issues with the reservation, but the staff wasn't very attentive in picking up empty plates or refilling waters throughout our time dining there. It's a nice, casual place to go to with a location that is easy to get to. There's plenty of free parking since it's part of the Arsenal Yards shopping area. The dishes in general weren't bad. I don't know that I would go out of my way to come here regularly, but still an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for a cute spot that serves up delicious wings or fried chicken to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and I gotta say I'm happy with my decision choosing to go to Buttermilk & Bourbon. Also super glad they opened up another location outside of Boston because if you live in Boston, you'd know how crazy it is to get into the city for a 6PM dinner reservation. The restaurant is very pretty, love the outdoor patio option. It definitely gives the magical French Quarter vibes of New Orleans. I was kinda bummed that we got seated at a pretty small in the corner kinda spot tho in such a pretty restaurant. (Even when I submitted a request on OpenTable for some help making the dinner date a lil more special since it was my boyfriend's birthday..) But besides that, the food was amazing. We had to get Shirley Temples and these ones were a solid 8.5/10! (Something was missing but definitely was not bad and we both got cherries). Then we get to the food -Yummo! Best biscuits I've ever had! I still dream about these biscuits (sorry no pics). They're so buttery soft but crispy at the same time, go so well with the sweet cinnamon butter. We also got the BBQ Corn which was ok, I wasn't big of a fan of corn x bbq sauce. And as someone who lived in the South and loves Southern cuisine, you know I had to try their Shrimp & Grits and it's ok.. there were a lot going on in that dish (peppers, celery, andouille sausage, onions, etc) and I'd just prefer some simple cheesy grits with shrimps. And last but not least, the Nashville hot fried chicken. My boyfriend liked it but since he's a so called chicken wings expert, it's a bit too spicy to enjoy and not crispy enough? I think it's pretty damn good (I love spicy and they were moist). We did not get any dessert because we got a whole cake at home to feast on that night but the service was very great. One of the servers did not hesitate to help us taking a cute pic for the grams with their lil set up outside of the restaurant. But overall, definitely a cool spot and we would like to visit the other location at some point to see if there's anything different and if we're missing out not going to the OG location.

Yelp
3.5 stars is very accurate. Very happy to have a Watertown location with easy parking nearby! Love that they have a covered outdoor seating area. Not sure if it's still open during the colder months. Food was great and the cocktails were excellent. I didn't know it's tapas style! For the small portion size, you definitely need to order a couple of servings if you come with a group. Menu is not allergy friendly, which is fine. Just putting this out there for those who may need it. Ambiance is great. Bathroom is clean. I would consider coming back maybe once to see if it deserves 5 stars.

Yelp
We used to love this spot -- came here often and for special occasions, but as my kids said, "it fell off." We were there at 7:30 on a weekend and they were out of fried chicken, the burger sliders, and the potato salad. Those are components for multiple dishes and the foods the kids like. We ordered fries--never came. We waited a long time between items. They also charge for a side of ranch and BBQ sauce after all these things aren't on the menu. They don't ask if we want another drink or dessert. I let the server know we were disappointed. . . didn't care. I did talk to the manager on the way out and she said, "do you want. . . a refund or gift card. . . " -- don't make me say, yes. Just give it to us. rather than getting just a big bill and leaving us so disappointed. Also, now, with the economy the way it is, we don't go out to eat that much, so when we do, and when it's pretty expensive for a family of 4, we want it to be good and feel worthwhile. It was one of our favorite spots, but we won't come back anytime soon. . . and it's kind of a reminder to just spend that money on something special to make at home.

Yelp
Damn why the hate on B&B?!?! I was also quite worried that it would be overrated BUT the food was really good. I went for brunch and we started with the wild mushroom pesto toast and it was incredible. I liked how well the flavors all worked together - it was an umami bomb to start with. The chicken and waffles were pretty decent. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, but the star of the show was the honey butter. It complements both parts of the dish. Finally for dessert, we got the beignets, which were pillowy soft and the rich dark chocolate sauce really makes me reminisce on this dish. It is a little expensive for the amount of food you get, but it's worth it from time to time. I didn't really understand the decor or ambiance of this restaurant but it was pretty nice. The servers were also very nice and accommodating!

Yelp
Had heard good things about this place, so wanted to finally try it out. This was a really fun and quirky dining experience, and will definitely be my go-to place to bring out of town friends when they come to visit. Was confused by the menu at first, but once we learned that dishes are meant to be shared, it made more sense. So we ordered a few different ones to try. There wasn't a single dish I didn't like. Everything had so much flavor and even though each dish was very different from the next, they all complimented each other well. Taking away one star because they forgot about our Street Corn and we had to wait a while for it. Waiter didn't apologize either for the mistake or for the extra long wait. Overall good experience, enjoyed the food very much.

Yelp
This place is amazing... chicken is legit. All food fresh and service second to none. Come in you won't be disappointed. Great ambiance.

Yelp
Not a good experience. Service was poor at best... really obnoxiously poor. The food? Southern-style restaurant out of fried chicken, sandy mussels, and really salty BBQ shrimp. I will never be back.

Yelp
The food is spot on, although it runs heavy; when I am in New Orleans, it is hard to find a good salad too. The mixology is stellar here, their bar staff are really mixologists who love what they do. There are so many good things to drink. Each time I go, I see what's new and different just for cocktails. Back to the food, I certainly have favorites and have found the brunch to be an opportunity to try things beyond my ken. it's all good. I need a nap after, but I always have happy thoughts. The cuts of the alligator tail could be more generous. I rarely visit with a thought of I"I just want X." I always come and go with "what is new and different?" This place is rarely empty, we come at off hours, and especially late so we can sit at the bar (when it's just two of us). When we are a group I make a reservation, which will avoid a long wait. The place is funky-dunky NOLA with a bit of New England industrial. The most modern twist is the kitchen is right there, and you can watch the magic happen. It is a standard goto for us, by ourselves or to impress.

Yelp
Really love this location. This buttermilk and bourbon has high ceilings and it's a nice lofty area. The staff was super friendly and we sat in their section called the voodoo room. Food was phenomenal had the ribs, the wagyu sliders, the chicken, sliders, scallops, special, and the roasted carrots and street corn. At the end we had of course the beignets we forgot to take a picture of it because I was so excited and I ate them up with their maple, salted soft ice cream. Looking forward to coming here again.

Yelp
I've been to the Back Bay location a couple years ago so I was really curious to check out the new location here. My friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday around 11am. The Arsenal Yards area was very new and modern and there were plenty of seats inside the restaurant. For drinks, we ordered the Café du Monde and the B&B Hurricane. The first Café du Monde was basically the same as an espresso martini and the B&B Hurricane was not as fruity as I would liked it to me. Service was overall good except for that we were occasionally having issues hearing the waitress because she speaks quite softly. For food, we ordered: -boneless thighs (Nashville hot): I thought the Nashville hot dry rub spice was the perfect amount of spiciness on the chicken but it was a bit too spicy for my friend -biscuits: the glazed biscuits were really good as always. Can't go wrong with this one! -Cesar salad: this was a little weird. Since they added anchovies to the salad, the whole dish ended up tasting pretty fishy and it was just not for us

Yelp
Fantastic addition to the already great Arsenal Yards. Our group ordered a ton, but I took part in: Honey glazed biscuits 9/10 House special buttermilk chicken thighs 10/10 (must get!) Would come back here with a large group of friends or family anytime. Good environment, fast service, and great food.

Yelp
Great location in the buzzing Arsenal mall area. Plenty of free outdoor parking and garage around. My friends and I had reservations here for Sunday brunch. It was a very busy Sunday afternoon. Upon walking in, we noticed it was a very busy brunch crowd so we were patient to be seated. We were I my given 2 menus for a group of 6. Once seated it took 20+ minutes to get our orders taken as well as get water. I'm not sure if they were short staffed but we didn't see our waitress for a long time thereafter, unfortunately the attentiveness was not there. Food: we ordered the blackberry baked Brie and biscuits for the table to share and both were really good except for the toasted bread that came with the Brie was more in the burnt and bitter side. I would def return for the biscuits though! We also ordered jalapeño grits, chicken and waffles, home fries, fancy drinks and lots of beignets to end our meal. The home fries lacked flavor and were like warm. The sliders were very thin dry burger patties with unmelted cheese, all the other items were decent. The beignets were fantastic, came hot and served with a sweet cream dipping sauce and powdered sugar.

Yelp
TLDR: well done small plates Loved our time here. Ate on the patio on a cold night. Food came out quickly and was delicious and felt oh so fresh. Price is about right. Really loved my cocktail as well which I can't remember the name of but it was this wonderfully smoky but light deliciousness.

Yelp
When we arrived the restaurant was half full at most yet we were seated next to the door the waitstaff used to enter and exit the kitchen. After 10 minutes waiting for anyone to come to our table I went to the bar and got our drinks myself. After another several minutes I went to the hostess and told her if someone didn't come to our table quick, we would leave. The food was mediocre at best and not worth what they charge for it. We had 3 different dishes and all of them were awful. I ordered beignets and coffee for dessert. The coffee was cold and the beignets were overcooked. The staff don't seem to care about anything customer related and quality has been abandoned at this restaurant. The bathroom was untidy and the trash from the barrel was spilling onto the floor which gave the impression that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned recently. Do not go to Buttermilk & Bourbon and go to McDonalds for something better.

Yelp
Can only comment on the drinks ... as I did not get any food here, but yowza - EXPENSIVE!!! We sat at the bar. The decor is amazing, and it's a really nice space. The service was decent too. Assertive ... but not too friendly. Unfortunately, the drinks were weak and subpar. For the price ... I expected a lot more. My BF and I both had 2 drinks each, and the bill ended up being close to $80. Such a disappointment ... since we were barely buzzed. Got more tipsy off the beers at Shake Shack. Not that I was looking to get hammered, but I was expecting a little more substance and quality. I mean ... our drinks weren't even filled up all the way. I don't think I'll go back to this location, but I'd definitely try the location in Back Bay ... as I've heard very good things about that one. Such a shame though ... since this location is down the street from me.

Yelp
This food was great and fast. Tapas style but creole flare. I loved it here. You can pair your stuff with a nice bourbon and sit outside! New Orleans feel on the inside!

Yelp
Chicken and waffles were really good. Wasn't a fan of the spicy syrup. The crab dip lacked flavor. Probably would not return. Decor inside was nice.

Yelp
Food is great, decorations for the holidays were lovely along with the hot cocoa bar. Service was poor - took a long time for our server to stop by the table even at the beginning of the day when the restaurant was not as busy. Our drinks were forgotten multiple times. While paying, the server was looking directly over my shoulder to see what the tip would be which was quite uncomfortable. For the price point, l would expect better service.

Yelp
I had such a blast! Thank you Watertown B&B for an amazing time. I truly loved it here! Food: tuna tartare, ribs, alligator fries, what more can ya ask for! All so yummy and very much tapas style. The meat slid right off the bone, and the chips and food were all so good!!! Drinks: oh gosh, I don't remember what the names were. I think the frozen red in this picture was a hurricane, and mine was a cotton candy frozen with a wine spritzer added to it? Ambiance: Outdoor seating was so nice, a dog came up to us :) it was very warm out, but it was perfect weather

Yelp
a little pricey, but great ambience and plenty of room for multiple parties of people. I found the hors d'oeuvres to be really well crafted and the service amazing.

Yelp
Great spot for New Orleans cuisine with a nice outdoor dining space. Food was delicious and the drinks were okay, but the service was quite slow and not the most attentive (enough to detract from the overall dining experience). Our favorite dishes were the honey glazed biscuits, baby back ribs, blackened octopus, fried chicken sliders, and beignets (+ chocolate sauce). The only dish that we probably could have done without were the raw oysters -- mostly compared to other options in the city. The drinks elicited mixed responses from our group...overall consensus was that they were fine but not what you'd come for. I've been to the B&B in Back Bay and while they're very similar, I did enjoy the almost suburban ambience of this one. Drinks: 1. Golden Daiquiri (4/5) 2. Smokey Dame (3/5) Food: 1. Signature Warm Honey Glazed Biscuits (4.5/5) 2. Half Dozen Oysters on the Half Shell (3/5) 3. Tuna Tartare (4/5) 4. Slow Roasted Baby Back Ribs (5/5) 5. Blackened Octopus (4.5/5) 6. Fried Chicken Slides (4.5/5) 7. Nashville Alligator Fries (4/5) Dessert: 1. Fresh Fried Beignets with chocolate sauce (5/5)

Yelp
Do not believe that they are open until 10 for dinner and 11 for the bar. If you show up at 9, you'll be treated like a nuisance even if you order quickly and, don't you dare add another item to the small plate concept at 9:30. For a "bar rescue" chef, he might want to come to his own place. The food is okay - I expect buttermilk fried chicken wings to be just that, not six wings you'd get from a pizza shop. And Nashville Hot is saucy, not dry.

Yelp
A lovely French inspired tapas restaurant at Arsenal Yards. I came here for brunch with a friend and we ordered the crab cake Benedict, low country scramble, and beignets with chocolate sauce. Our waiter said 3 dishes would be good to share between 2 people, which was definitely a good amount of food. We were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy our brunch, until the bees started flying and attacking the food. The beignets were pillowy soft and delicious. The crab cake Benedict was pretty good and flavorful and my least favorite out of the three dishes we got was the low country scramble. The sausage was good, but the eggs didn't have as much flavor as expected. Overall, a nice place to grab brunch on the weekend.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night with my boyfriend for a birthday dinner. We made reservations for 7 pm and the place was pretty busy. Luckily, we got seated right away and our waitress was super friendly. This was my second time here (my first time was unfortunately disappointing in terms of service) so it was nice that our waitress this time around was attentive. My first time here, they completely forgot about my friend's order and took over 30-45 minutes to bring it out to us. By the time she got her food, I already finished mine. Although the food was good, it was not worth the wait. On this visit, the service was so much better. Our food came out within 15 minutes of ordering! We got the Alligator Fries and the Chicken Sliders which were really good, but a bit on the heavier and saltier side. For a small plates place, these were definitely pretty large and filling portions. We also ordered drinks. My boyfriend got a beer and I got the Hurricane ($14). By the time the drinks arrived at our table, we were almost done with eating our food. The Hurricane was pretty solid, a bit light on the alcohol in my opinion, but tasted great! Overall, I'm glad I gave them a second chance. I don't think I'd come here again for food but definitely would come by for drinks.

Yelp
Honey Butter Old Fashion ($17), Cast Iron Baked Crab Dip ($18), Benne seed crusted rare ahi tuna ($17), Warm Honey Glazed Biscuits ($16), Alligator Bites ($18, from Valentine menu) This was certainly one of our best Valentine dinners in years! We were seated at a 2 person table in the front section but off to the side so conversation was easy to hear, despite people talking loudly and music being at a normal volume. Jasmine was our server that night, and she was both knowledgable about the menu and attentive to our needs throughout the meal. It was really hard to make decisions about which drinks and tapas to order since everything truly sounded interesting, so our thought process was to just pick a few that evening and return to try some other dishes at another time. The portions were average to large, with the biscuits being a lot for just 2 people to share, and both the tuna and crab dip plates were super tasty and for sure our favorites. Sadly, we opted for the alligator bites on the Valentine's menu, thinking that we should choose something different that usually isn't on the regular menu, but honestly wish we had instead gotten the crawfish hush-puppies... The alligator bites just didn't have much complexity and were OK at best. However, we look forward to a future dinner at BnB and plan on ordering the dirty fries and the brisket mac and cheese and crawfish hushpuppies, and we also intend to try a couple of new cocktails. Thank you to Jasmine and to the restaurant for a memorable Valentine's.

Yelp
I've now given them two opportunities, both experiences were poor. The food was mediocre last time (chicken and waffles), but friends wanted to go back. - Despite having a reservation, we waited 20 minutes to be seated - despite taking her time coming over, Mimi, our waitress, started walking off before one in our party asked if we could order beverages - the other two members of my party were served food, I was served nothing. I saw the gentleman next to us, who had arrived after us, be served the same dish I ordered. 12 minutes later, Mimi returned to ask us "what we were missing." We reminded her. - she appeared some time later with one of two missing items. It was my pancakes, which were lukewarm and burnt. They certainly didn't just come off the line. They tried to hide the burnt surfaces with raspberry compote. - despite my friend's empty glass, Mimi walked off without allowing her to order another drink - Mimi finally brought out beignets after a second reminder. Also overcooked and greasy. - we wrote the last four digits of our cards with the amount we wanted charged (some of ordered multiple beverages, or entrees vs apps). My friend pointed out the amounts/card numbers to Mimi when she returned. In spite of this, she split the bill three ways. Bad food. Bad service. Won't be back.

Yelp
Service is always great, vibe is lit, drinks are adorable and satisfying and the food always delivers. We love Connor and he always delivers 5-star service! Got the baked potato tonight -- meat was perfect and plentiful, potato was well-cooked, and the sauce paired well with both my potato and the fried chicken I stole from my boyfriend's plate!

Yelp
Service on Sunday we sat outside and they were pretty busy but...it took awhile to be served. Food is 6.5/10 the chicken and waffles is good I liked the hot sauce that comes with it it's like a flavor explosion. The waffles are soft and the spread gives them a nice cinnamon taste. Now the low country scramble is not particularly my speed it's not nasty it's just not great. The drink wasn't good to me either. The grenadine tasted different throwing the whole drink off. It's a small plate type of eatery meaning the plates are meant to be shared.

Yelp
I like the ambiance of this place, it was very chill and casual. I had the Voodoo Priestess and The Elixir to drink and both were tasty. I ordered the Chicken Wings -Sweet and Spicy and the Crab Cake. The food was good, but I'm sure not everyone will approve because it was kind of generic meaning that nothing really stood out about the flavor of either dish. The service was great, so I would probably return here for a drink or two.
