With indoor and outdoor seating in a convenient location near Seattle University, this Albanian family-run cafe is perfect for the not-very-adventurous who want to expand their geography without too many foreign ingredients. The space's large windows and bright, clean aesthetic adds value to a cheap but lovely meal.
I recommend the byrek if you're in the mood for something warm, or just not into a sandwich or salad. However, I only hear good things about their sandwiches. They bake their own bread and the whole place smells amazing. I'm still thinking about a warm and fresh three cheese byrek.... Their vegetarian options are fantastic.
There's a great beverage selection, whether it's coffee and tea drinks, kombucha, flavored sparkling water, local brews, or mimosa-style cocktails. For a place that isn't a coffeeshop, they make a great latte. The pastry choices are less basic than average and I appreciate that. I like their chocolate pretzel cookie, and my coworker gave the baklava two thumbs up.
The space is clean and requires you to bring your dishes to a box to clear after eating. It's a nice middle level of sophistication, where I feel I could comfortably be wearing anything or bringing anyone - a date, a coworker, a vegetarian, or even a picky eater. I'd go alone but this place deserves more customers!
