Stylish boutique hotel with chic design and plant wall

"I started a pregame at the Lobby Bar with the $12 Astros-themed Juice Box Rita — a tequila-forward mix of triple sec, orange juice and freshly squeezed lime." - Brittany Britto Garley

"Chic Downtown Houston restaurant from superstar chef Chris Cosentino is reopening after being closed for more than a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic; it originally opened in 2019 to rave reviews before shuttering months later. The relaunch is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, with Jacob Coronado — formerly chef de cuisine at Montrose favorite Nobie’s — taking over the kitchen. Coronado will serve beloved dishes such as blue crab manicotti, rigatoni lacquered in Texas wild boar ragu, and a wild mushroom pizza topped with mozzarella and pecorino. The previous chef, Sasha Grumman, departed prior to filming season 18 of Bravo’s Top Chef and is now working as a chef-in-residence at Villa Lena in Tuscany. Starting September 15 the restaurant will be open daily for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m." - Amy McCarthy

"Opened in fall 2019 as part of a boutique Curio Collection, this Houston hotel is named for Charlotte Baldwin Allen and traces her role financing the city’s beginnings; its design by Rottet Studio and Rohe Creative includes a striking 111-foot living plant wall shaped like an “X” that nods to Baldwin’s inability to sign her name and invites guests to make their mark. Original portraits by local photojournalist Elizabeth Conley—depicting fierce Houston women with flashy cars—decorate the 354 guest rooms, and meeting rooms are named for notable Texas women such as Barbara Jordan and Miriam Ferguson, with background information provided." - Devorah Lev-Tov

"Rosalie Italian Soul at C. Baldwin hotel offers freshly made pastas and recipes from the old country. Try Blue Crab Manicotti with local blue crab and lobster sauce Américaine or the shells and clams served in a white or spicy red sauce." - Gabi De la Rosa

"When superstar chef Chris Cosentino opened his first Houston restaurant there, designers at Rohe Creative fashioned a stunning dining room that reads glamorous without being overly kitschy: vintage floral textiles, mixed woods, and built-in shelves filled with midcentury ephemera create a cohesive, stylish atmosphere, and a rose-printed pizza oven serves as one of the space’s most striking, talked-about features." - Amy McCarthy
