The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai

"Before it was refurbished in 2023, C D’Souza felt like a rundown parlor of a stingy distant relative. Now this spot near Marine Lines station—with new polished Burma teak rafters, and a glass case filled with vintage wine glasses (but no wine, because local laws don’t permit a bar in the vicinity of a church, go figure)—has transformed into a Goan classic. Here, the portions are big, and the hospitality is friendly. Order the onion-y buffalo tongue roast done Goan-style with green chillies, and the ros omelet blanketed with thick chicken xacuti gravy. Also get acquainted with the Portuguese-influenced Goan staples like vinegary red vindalho, fiery cafreal in green masala, and funky fermented choriz tucked into pav—and maybe hear from one of the co-owners about Goan painter Derek Monteiro’s art, which lines the walls. Chances are high that you’ll be gently pressed into having a sweet from the case, like the bol di naranjo, fruit jam-filled tarts, and coconut macaroons. " - roshni bajaj sanghvi

For amazing Goan food and a conversation with really sweet Jude, C D'Souza's is a must visit. Located in the Marine Lines they are a family run restaurant! Don't miss their fruit pies, the best sweet endings to your meals! I am in a food coma! In the frames: 1. Goan chorizzo fry 2. Sorpotel... the best i had since my last goa trip 3. Home made steaming poies 4. Special mention to the amazing Mutton and Chicken Patties... Must try! 5. Blueberry, strawberry and mango tarts Pocket pinch 1400 for two PS: Strictly for Non Vegetarians!

Good Goan food in Mumbai. The best person over there is Jude the man behind the counter who would talk to you endlessly. Definately try their pork Sorpotel, kingfish rava masala fry (it was huge and thick and enough for 2 medium size people), coconut pudding/custard (it was so awesome that I forgot what he called it)

Being a Goan myself, I visited this place as soon as I heard they serve authentic Goan food — and trust me, I was not disappointed ! It completely met my expectations and went beyond. We started with the meat cutlet, and the portion sizes were generous and totally worth it. Next came the Ros omelet with Poe bread — absolutely perfect in taste and texture. To wrap up, we tried the beef steak with egg and potato, and it was so filling that we had to parcel the rest ! The meal ended on a sweet note with a complimentary pudding, which was the perfect touch. The ambiance is warm and homely, adorned with beautiful abstract paintings that add character to the space. The owner is incredibly kind and personally interacts with customers, making the whole experience even more special. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Goan flavors — highly recommended!

The food was good. Only the photos I posted are worth ordering. No washroom, so plan ahead. Jude owner was kind, gave us complimentary rum balls.

This isn't just a restaurant- it's a portal to Goa, in the midst of Mumbai🥰 The owner, Mr Jude, is a delight every time- not only a food connoisseur but also the most hospitable host! The entrance and the seating area themselves announce the Goa-ness of the treat one is about to indulge in. And then the introduction of every dish , inclusive of discussion of elements of goan cuisine, by Mr Jude is just the experience that completes the teleportation to goa. 😎 The top dishes for me so far will be chorizo- fries, chicken cafreal (not included in pics), barbecue pork (not included in pics). This time we gave Mutton a try despite my fears; and got delightfully surprised by succulent Mutton pieces. Plus Mutton cutlets are a must try- minced Mutton with potato fried with mild spices, no egg... Very nicely done👌 We tried a Goan bread called poee- very interesting,,,, crispy on outside and soft inside. Coated with wheat bran on the outside i think Although not left for space, complimentary plum cake is still welcomed🤤 And we got luckier this time, we got a flan instead🤩 Creamy and mildly sweet 😍 Still so many dishes left for trying. Will go there many more times for sure!

Very very bad experience - food was tasteless - the only thing good was the tongue roast and ribs - service took very very long .. most of the food is tasteless … I’m feeling bad as a Goan to say all this but it’s true !! There is no washroom - how inconvenient !! The prices are very high for poor quality food ! Never going there ! Lost trust in Kunal vijaykar!! Only non Goans will love it

My long awaited visit to Cdsouza was finally complete. Was a lovely welcome to this pretty little restaurant. Ordered for a beef chilly and their home baked poies, the beef was tender and super tasty, the poie was the best I've ever had. The main course was only Rice and Shark ambot tik, loved the shark ambot tik. To top it all up got a complimentary coconut custard. Do visit when you are around Churchgate, Marine Lines or Charni Road.

Beautiful, small, family run Goan restaurant i couldnt experience entirely this weekend... This place is a breakfast, brunch, lunch place.. i went here at 6 PM when everything was over😭😭😭 Luckily the owner and host Mr. Jude still called us in arranged some nice coffee while our Pork Vindaloo with Steamed rice was getting ready, that was the only thing which was left. Though we were not in the mood for an early dinner, but we still tried to stuff in the yummy perfectly tangy and vinegrish Vindaloo with tender pork pieces, just while eating that i felt what all i missed for going there late and i need to go there back again!! We took some Mutton Pattice because i loved the vindaloo so much i had to try it, although no space in the tummy i got a takeaway box along with a coconut tart. Owners wife was kind enough to give us 2 coconut pudding which was AMAZING, not because they were complimetary but because they were too yum and cause they were free😜 Had a really great time talking to Mr Jude and will go back with my friends and family soon!!
