We stopped there for the July 4th celebration on our way to the firework show. The outside restaurant security was very polite and helpful!
Everyone eating there wanted the outdoor seating for obvious reasons but we were just there for a quick meal, not to sit and drink. They directed us to the upstairs seating area inside where we were able to order almost immediately. The food was quickly prepared especially given just how busy they were.
My husband ordered the loaded queso dip with grilled chicken and a blended Rosa-Rita. He said it was plenty of food that served as his meal, not an appetizer and tasted very good.
My daughter got the Quesadilla Tres Quesos. She said it was good, “no complaints.”
My son got the Barrio Buttito. He said it was “delicious”.
I ordered the Cantina Tacos and Mango-Rita. I was honestly very disappointed. The chicken was grilled and had a good flavor but the tortillas themselves were your standard store bought tortillas that just don’t taste that good in my opinion.
They didn’t even try to hide the fact that it was store bought. At least put it on the grill for a second to try and warm them up a tad. The cabbage slaw had no flavor as in zero taste. The pico was good but it made for an overall very dry and underwhelming.
The Rosa-Rita and Mango-Rita was fine. As a side note, they did NOT honor their Happy Hour advertisement even though there were signs posted saying Happy Hour and we were there during that time frame. I guess they didn’t honor it because it was July 4th and they saw $$ to be made on all of us.
I respect that but at least take down the signs advertising it!!!!
Shame on this restaurant for that. They depend on tourism to support their business and I suppose they feel as if there will always be new faces to support them. I personally won’t go back just because of the shady way they conduct their business regardless of how good (or not) the food is.
