The LA Taco Tuesday Directory

"You might have seen this gaudy color-bomb patio filled with drunk people yelling at other people on The Promenade. You might have wondered if being that drunk in that crowded space could possibly be fun. On those occasions when you decide that it could, gather your loudest friends and head to Cabo Cantina on a Tuesday evening, and get ready to yell at some tourists. The deal: $7.50 all-you-can-eat tacos, all day." - amy clark, kat hong

I had a fantastic time at Cabo Cantina in Santa Monica! The Fiesta Fries were absolutely amazing packed with flavor and a total highlight. The 2-for-1 drinks were a great deal and added to the fun. My server, Heidi, was super cute and brought such joyful energy to the table. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the music kept the good vibes going all night. Highly recommend!

First timers here, and we found this place to be amazing. From the staff to the food. The only thing is the meals are so big, so maybe if you're coming here, you may like to share.

Google
Always chill n friendly. Patios great as well as interior. Tvs got interesting stuff, music is fun, waiters and busboys are nice/pro. The stuff they make never disappoints. Heads up they say their burrito is huge but it’s not. But the food etc is quality and vibe great.

Google
First it took a long time for us to be waited on. I think the waitress was out having a good time. Looked drunk or high! Then she sold us a $22 margarita. Claiming it had 4 shots. I normally start feeling half of a normal one. This supposed 4 shot one seemed to barely have 1, because i drank the whole thing without the slightest buzz. I then had a regalar size one after complaining. Like i said, drank half a was feeling the buzz pretty good. Next, the supposed huge burrito, NO. Just no. It was a regular size with not so much flavor. The salsa was good!

GUESTS BEWARE: Cabo is adding a surcharge to ALL checks noting it is for their employees but I spoke with the staff and was told that this surcharge does not benefit them at all and goes to corporate. They're already overpriced but to add a charge that is dishonest in its mission is ridiculous.

Google
First time trying this restaurant. I enjoyed the ambiance and service. The Staff is friendly and helpful. I don't normally give a low rating on the foods on the first visit but I thought the food was tasteless. The food menu is not a huge, but the beverage menu is very big. To me they focus on being a bar instead of a restaurant. First impression I would order drinks and appetizers only. The Staff mentioned happy hour and watching sports are extremely busy times and they offer specials on beverages. Unfortunately! I will not return in the near future unless I would want to watch sports and drink.

Google
I would give it 0 stars if I could. The margarita was not done right. The elotes were nothing to right home about. And as far as service goes, the less said, the better. I am sure you can do better elsewhere.

Google
1-19-2025 Great place to watch sports, have a drink, eat. 2 for 1 specials after 4 PM. On Tuesdays they have $9 all you eat tacos, it's Taco 🌮 Tuesday day. I've been here a few times.

Yelp
We tried to go to a nice restaurant nearby but they were unexpectedly closed so we ended up going here. The food and service were great and we met some nice people here. On the downside, there were some really creepy guys, some there by themselves, likely intoxicated, acting out of pocket towards my girlfriend, making both of us uncomfortable at times. I'm an easy-going, nonconfrontational person and didn't know if some of these guys were mentally handicapped or what their deal was, so I shrugged it off. One of the two guys who posted up next to us at the bar took a picture of my girlfriend with the flash on as she walked by to go to the bathroom and she confronted him and he apologized. A few other weird guys there alone kept staring at her and/or repeatedly walked by/past her and trying to get her attention or what seemed like a spontaneous interaction with her. Not an ideal place for a date.

Yelp
Great music , great location. Their fat French fries are only 5$ and it's a large plate ..! Love it Carina was amazing. Thanks a lot !!
google avatar

Yelp
Good place to hangout, grab a few drinks, snack, and enjoy food music by live djs. I have the courtesy to join in and keep the djs company. Lol. Great place for happy hour, especially late night. 2 for 1. Double fisting my Lagunitas and downed both in 30min before closing. LOL pub crawls are a must because Cabo participates in it. The place is just a but dated. Can use a new paint job and remodel the bathrooms. That's just my two cents on that. But overall, cool spot.
google avatar

Isabel Y.

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times for their all you can eat Taco Tuesday special, which is $10/tacos + a drink. There's a happy hour special of 2 for 1 priced beer that I recommend to keep the tab low. Service is always spotty as they seem understaffed and food takes a while to come out, though drinks are always served immediately. Atmosphere wise it's a party place and sports bar. People are loud and rowdy, the bathrooms are disgusting, and the lighting casts an ugly red over everything. They also use all disposable foodware, which is really wasteful. But it's cheap, conveniently located on the promenade, and has cute beach decorations everywhere.

Nahid A.

Yelp
You're completely right. I've been there before,,she is disgusting..really really totally she is disgusting..
google avatar

Hebers C.

Yelp
This is a place where your wallet leaves happy and belly leaves fun. Despite inconsistent service throughout all their locations and visits, the place still works for happy hour. Nachos and a mega margarita, that's the charm of this place. It's loud, rowdy, good music, not intended to be romantic, but a fun place for drinks. Fair warning - don't expect the restrooms to be clean.
google avatar

Natalie J.

Yelp
This place is great when it comes to their all you can eat tacos. I'm not sure when their bottomeless mimosas was removed but it makes sense. It was a deal last time I got it. The music is always a hit, vibe is fun and loud, with the downfall being dirty restrooms and detached wait staff. When it comes to service, it's a miss half the time. The waiters here are not personable or friendly. The bouncer/security at the front gave more of a welcoming vibe than the person waiting on us. No smile at all, and despite an easy order of an appetizer and two of the same drinks, got the order wrong. Not once checked on u and blamed me when she said "you didn't say that" rather than what I feel would have been more correct as "i'm sorry, I may have missed that" especially considering the girl next to me heard me say add this. Anyways, ok place but I don't go out of my way. I prefer fiesta cantina, staff their is always friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Dreadful is the first word that comes to mind. Loud, with bad food and drinks (small drinks!) served in plastic and that strange little surcharge--and a $5 fee for chips and salsa. Not fun, and let us remember this is is int he lonely end of the promenade where businesses are hurting. I don't think they particularly care,
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible. Just terrible. No wonder it's empty on Taco Tuesday. Slow service all around. Ordered 2 for 1 tacos and they brought them out without the rice and beans "Oh, you wanted the 2 for 1?" Huh? And how do you not have cilantro and onion separate from the pico de gallo? They got my order wrong twice so I simply canceled altogether. Water self-service empty the whole time we were there. Friend's rice was hard AF. I chatted with a girl nearby whom I saw spit out her rice. We both agreed how awful the food was. She also sent her drink back. Go to the Cabo in Venice, this one SUCKS.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is always a good time! Last time, I went with friends and ordered one of the fun margaritas they served. It was during a Dodger game, so we all had a blast cheering and conversing with one another. After we caught up outside, we then moved the party indoors where the music was bangin'! It was dope to dance along to what they were playing and watch the music videos of these songs at the same time! The music was a mix of old school hip-hop, reggaeton, salsa, R&B, and additional upbeat genres. Overall, it was a fun night with equally fun vibes!
google avatar

Jenny E.

Yelp
Mega margaritas are a great deal -- $22 for a huge drink. Unfortunately the mega margs do not qualify for the buy 1 get 1 happy hour, but compared to average drink prices elsewhere, it's a steal.
google avatar

Armin A.

Yelp
We ordered 2 nachos with steak They added 2 or 3 very tiny piece of meat Is like no meat on nachos Very bad experience We won't go there anymore It was on 5/14/2025 around 9:30 pm We not recommend this restaurant or bar to anyone
google avatar

Zoe S.

Yelp
Food was alright I essentially got a deconstructed burrito but the stars of the show are the giant drinks I had a blended strawberry daiquiri

Yelp
Cabo Cantina is open until 2am and has an amazing 2 for 1 drinks late night happy hour from 10:30pm to 12:30am. They're located along the 3rd street promenade and it's kinda hard to miss as you'll notice the people and music. The security is really solid and the service has always been excellent...they seem to be experts at managing drunk people. Also, it can get busy but somehow there's always plenty of seating. You can opt to order at the bar or order from your table but you never have to wait too long either way. Cabo Cantina is just really good value...a great place to grab some drinks to start or end your night while jamming out to a playlist of familiar millennials hits.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Ahh Cabo Cantina it's a vibe don't come for the margaritas or restrooms IYKYK but rather come for the 2-4-1 cerveza and to watch a boxing match and you will be more than happy !! Food Looks better than it is but the surf and turf tacos is probably the best selection
google avatar

Yelp
We had planned on spending some time here, exploring the drinks and having a full meal, but our initial experience made us realize this place was not for us. The skinny margarita we ordered was delivered as a regular margarita and when we complained, they just splashed some soda water on top of the regular margarita and called it skinny, absolutely awful service. We complained to the manager, Mike, and he did not care at all and just gave us a hard time, just rude. This is a place we will never visit again, think twice unless you just don't care what you get.

Yelp
Experience: Only come to watch games. Have been a few times. Always a chill fun vibe, could accommodate a large group. TV's all around, bathrooms clean. Indoor and outdoor seating options. A few steps away from the beach. Great location. Food: Average. I wouldn't come here for the food if there wasn't an event occurring. Drinks and food are very American cantina style, hence the name, so not shocked, but does the job. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito and some drinks. Burrito was edible but not the best. No one else at our table finished their food. Service: Responsive, nice, quick. Parking: Street parking all around, but depending on the time of day it could be a hassle. Usually I park across the street close to some homes, free parking. Verdict: Would come back anytime for a game.

Brea B.

Yelp
I liked Cabo cantina! My friends and I came here twice for a little night out, and the service was fast, and the drinks and food were good. While the drinks were pretty over priced in my opinion (20$ for the marg in the picture) and they don't put the prices on the menu... the food was very well priced and the portions were great! We got a side of fries and a side of chips and salsa and both were like 5$ each and fed our table of 6! The drinks were delicious too. Honorable mention to the playlist or DJ, kinda the best music at a bar that I've heard in awhile!

Yelp
This place is right by downtown Santa Monica. When you use Apple Maps, it'll bring you to the back location in the alley. There is indoor, outdoor, and upstair seating. Since it's open, it isn't air condition. You basically sit yourself and they come to you. It gives beach shack vibes. The service wasn't good because we kept waiting for them long time to bring us stuff like the menu, check, food, and takeout boxes. Our waiter forgot about us. I got the pineapple paradise, which it looks and taste sad. There's barely any sauce, the chicken was dry, and veggies didn't fresh. There are better places you can go to eat in downtown Santa Monica.
google avatar

Lynn V.

Yelp
Came for Taco Tuesday and got some drinks - although you have to be specific with what you get for the 2-1 deal, it has to basically be the same drink and not different flavors. Still a great deal for ayce. They really load their tacos now and with a lot of cabbage and meat. Pretty tasty and drinks are strong. The vibe is chill. Lots of TV screens to watch different games and the music is good. It's located on the promenade so parking structures are your best bet. You seat yourself and service is pretty decent with staff aware and making sure you get your stuff. They're understaffed but just be patient and get their attention and they'll be right on it with your order.

Yelp
Nike was the best server ever!!!!! If you come here ask for him!! He made our night. Long live Cabo!!!
google avatar

Lydia C.

Yelp
Service was trash . Never got a box for me and my friend food . We had to leave the rest of it. The drinks were good .

Colby G.

Yelp
Michael is the best! He made sure we had great service from our server, the drinks were awesome and the food is spectacular. Loved the Nachos!
google avatar

Donna Y.

Yelp
Located in the Santa Monica Promenade, the service is friendly, fast and efficient! Food is ono and portions are huge! Open seating, kid friendly and lots of tv screens to watch the sport that's in season (right now, got the NBA playoffs). I'd recommend this place. Prices are reasonable. Lunch for two with tip was under $40. I call that a win!

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience here. It's fun atmosphere because of all the decorations, but our server Katie was exceptionally rude and the huge guy Mike. The manager was extremely rude as well. We had planned on eating a full meal here but started with just the chips and salsa which were unremarkable. Then I asked for a skinny margarita and they bring me out an extremely sugary premade margarita. I said this is not skinny please make me a skinny margarita. So she brings back the same drink only with a splash of soda on top. Lol. I said these are premade margaritas I'm guessing. And she said yes they are so they couldn't even make me a skinny margarita? Extremely overpriced, horrible horrible service so will never be back. $35 for chips and salsa, a beer and a horrible premade watered down sugary Margarita.
google avatar

Yelp
Lisa is the most amazing bartender I have ever had. Very attentive, interactive, and caring. You won't find another bartender like her in the area. Come by Monday to Friday for the best service you will ever have
google avatar

Angelica A.

Yelp
I used to come here years ago and it has gone down. It's just loud and the vibes aren't here. Even though the margaritas are over priced at least they have some fun options. The food is average .

Alexis M.

Yelp
At 12:00am the employee at the front gave my group of five the reason of "being too intoxicated" that we could not go in, and we were not intoxicated. Maybe because we were Hispanic. End of day, if we couldn't go inside I wish he would've just said we're at capacity or something along the lines of.

Aaron M.

Yelp
Carina is the best server. Even though she was busy, she still made time for us. Definitely recommend. 10/10!
google avatar

Verenice S.

Yelp
This place has NEVER disappointed with their delicious food nor their amazing deals on drinks during their happy hour. I love coming here on an empty stomach and thirsty because every meal and drink I've had from here has always been mouth watering! They definitely know how to fill up bellies with phenomenal food and quench any kind of thirst, whether that's alcoholic or not. I 100000% will always recommend this place for good and for bad times.
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Not the best food, AT ALL. Of course, people come here for the vibes and drinks, not the food. But still. Come here only for the drinks (I liked their margaritas!) but stay away from the food. I got a burrito and it was sloppy, flavorless, and very unappetizing. It's "big" but you don't want to finish it anyway. Very wet, too many beans/rice.
google avatar

Arbi Z.

Yelp
The local Cabo Cantina terrorized locals from its Wishire Blvd location for years by closed down. Somehow they survived and fell into a very decent location on 3rd street promenade. Sadly that's where the good news end. The syrupy drinks are served in plastic cups, beers come in cans, all of the unappetizing food comes served on paper plates. Additionally, the music sucks and the lingering smell of fabuloso is inescapable. All the while service is sleepwalking its way around waiting for their shift to end. If you really hate someone buy them a gift card to Cabo Cantina!

Alan S.

Yelp
Been going here for maybe a year on Sundays to eat fries, nachos and do karaoke. I generally like most of the staff there especially the karaoke lady but tonight I had an incident that drove me away permanently (which i'm sure they're fine with since i'm not spending money on their drinks). The server named Bri or Bree, a latina lady with tattoos, while rushing to get to the back of the counter pushed past me and a buddy and cursed at me. I'd literally just walked in the bar and wasn't even in the way as she could have easily gone around. I asked my buddy who knows her what just happened and he says something to the effect of "that's just how she talks to people." I'd understand a gentle tap or a "hey excuse me" but putting your hands on me and cursing at me is a big no no. She came up maybe 10 minutes later to apologize while stepping on my shoes and when I called her out for stepping on my shoes and telling her it was disrespectful what she did and that she shouldn't be acting like that especially since I don't have that level of familiarity with her... she said "oh okay well I WAS apologizing but not anymore, I didn't mean the apology but good for you!" Very immature and condescending. She brushed past 5 more people after me and didn't curse at or act aggressively toward any of them and again... I get it you're at a bar the workers need space but she had plenty of space and even if she was rushing she shouldn't have put her hands on me and cursed at me like that. Super toxic aggressive behavior. If she can't regulate her emotions and attitude like an adult she probably shouldn't be working in that type of environment.

Cris H.

Yelp
The Asian lady that's a waiter asked for IDs right away and we showed them to her, my ID is expired but we just came to eat food. She then said she couldn't serve us and walked away. Rude approach and ignored us. Fire her

Yelp
I come here every once in a while for their large margarita and their happy hour deals. Drinks are always okay, food is always decent but never good.
google avatar

Nohailani D.

Yelp
This was a cool little spot to have a few drinks. I had some Margaritas and a few shots. The bartender was nice, he pored a birthday shot for not just me but for my man to have with me. (Usually only the bday person gets a free shot). Cups and shot glasses were plastic disposable. I don't think anyone cares, but weirdly I do. I always prefer a glass. Wouldn't keep me from coming back, but it's just a preference of mine I guess. The ambience is very Cabo/beach vibes. It's very colorful and your eyes will be entertained for a while. I didn't try the food, so I can't judge it. The bathrooms are unisex/private so they can get messy. Parking is a pain, we parked in the garage, it was a walk, be we made several stops along the way so no big deal.
google avatar

Melody P.

Yelp
Was in the area and decided to step in since it was taco Tuesday. They were currently having all you can eat tacos for 7.99 which is a steal. It comes with choice of ground beef, steak, chicken or veggies. The 7.99 special will only work with a purchase of drinks such as beer or even a lemonade. They have an indoor/outdoor seating. There are daily drink specials as well from 4-8pm i believe which are 2-4-1's!

Neveen S.

Yelp
Waiter didn't explain the promotion that we must get the same drink to get buy one get one for free. He didn't put my husband's meal order at all and at the end he gave me someone's else credit card back instead of mine. I had to cancle my card and request a new one. I called and spoke to a manager who promised me to call back the following day after talking to the general manager but I never heard from them for more than 30 days.

Yelp
Cabo was so fun this Sunday ! Such a good vibe the food was yummy. Our bartender Jarod was fantastic he really went out of his way to give us the best experience.
google avatar

Mazen A.

Yelp
Me and my group friends stopped here today for a quick bite and some drinks. The food are atmosphere was great! But they hold your credit card when you place your order which I understand with all the outdoor seating and the amount of drinks they serve that people probably walk off without paying quite often. We informed them that we will be sharing the bill on a several credit cards before we even order . They said card won't be charged With this though we told the waitress we were finished and patiently waited 30 minutes to be closed out as We had to go where else. The waitress continued to go to place orders at other tables leaving us waiting, so my friend had to go get another staff member to retrieve my credit card from them. We found that they have already charged my card with no pre- permission! So we had to cancel the transaction because we were sharing the bill.

Yelp
Loyal customer for 12 yrs...Was our go to spot for huge margaritas, delicious nachos and a damn good time. The food is horrible now. No longer delicious ranchera meat on the nachos, replaced by cheap dry meat. The drinks are flavor and colorless and still on the disposable plastic cups. We were moved from our table to make room for a "party of 12" that never showed up lol (how embarrassing for the manager that moved us). We were offered shots for our trouble and were given the cheapest most disgusting "shots". Felt immediately sick... We still managed to rack up a $200+ bill and gladly paid it but will not be returning until things get better. Truly hope they don't continue cutting corners because it will be the end of this location. Used to be hard obtaining a table at Cabo Cantina on a Saturday night....not anymore and now we know why. Plz do better.
google avatar

Shad R.

Yelp
Wow ! This was horrible , has that cheap cabo feel which I thought was kinda cool/ funny . The food is absolutely horrible . My husband had the all you can eat taco tues , thought it was funny that the waitress said, " no one eats more than 2" , Well there is a reason ... it taste like shit ! The chips were sour like they were dipped in old oil and they were stale. The tacos came with 3 piece of meat filled with cabbage and unmelted shredded cheese . The beans were straight from a can . The fish taco was a fish stick in a tortilla covered with you guessed it cabbage ! Save your money don't even get the chips , which by the way ours came with some left over beans on them , did they reuse the chips !!! You get the 1 star because the hostess were polite and welcoming .
google avatar

Maryann R.

Yelp
It's pretty bad. 1.5 stars. The good: it's conveniently located. They have a lot of tables outside, on the promenade. There is a parking deck immediately across from it. The bad: Super slow service. Rude employee at back door. Line for the bathroom is 30 min. The ugly: the food and drinks are disgusting. Chips were so stale I sent them back. Guacamole was inedible. The margarita was gross too. I ordered the "happy hour" special and it was $14 for a double, which is served in a regular cup. What's the deal...?!? Anyway, I drank about half the margarita and ate some of the stale chips and salsa and felt ill the rest of the night. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Yelp
2 for one drink deals are good food is not too bad if you're cool with quick finger food

Yelp
Our server was decent. Food was good. Drinks were good but too much ice. The vibe wasn't it at all. Probably will come back to try some more food but then I'm done there.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here to watch UFC. Having only 2.5 stars, we didn't have high expectations, but we were in the area and knew they'd be playing the fight. So we tried it! We received really great service from our waitress, Natalia! I saw other reviews that complained about service, but we had a much better experience. She was kind, helpful, attentive, and offered both drink and food suggestions. We arrived during happy hour and were able to take advantage of their BOGO margaritas. My boyfriend and I tried the cucumber and pina colada flavors on the rocks, and then moved to the blended strawberry-mango. We both very much preferred the blended versions of the margaritas. We were starving, and dug right into the chips and salsa. The salsa was quite good; we really enjoyed it! The chips, not so much. They were definitely thicker than the standard restaurant style chip that we were both used to, and joked about them being the most low quality store bought bagged chips we could have found. However, the lack of what we considered a proper salsa chip still didn't stop us from ordering the Muchos Nacho to share. And we definitely didn't regret it! It came loaded with plenty of cheese and all the fixings. The guacamole was surprisingly really good as well! We ordered the Elote (corn), and while they served it on the cob, they were happy to cut it for us and serve it in a bowl. It had more of a lime flavor than I was used to, but we both enjoyed the dish quite a bit. They had numerous TVs which made watching them from any seat in the restaurant east to do, and also had a really large outdoor seating area that had a couple TVs as well. I'm happy to say our experience was much better than others we saw posted, and glad we could help them out by giving them a solid 4 stars.
