The 24 Best Restaurants in Salvador, Brazil | Eater
"Head to Cadê Q’Chama for hearty regional dishes: vatapá (a stew made of spicy prawn paste mixed with dendê oil, peanuts, and coconut milk), moqueca, and caldo de sururu (fresh yet rich shellfish soup). The casual restaurant also serves a four-course tasting menu that changes weekly, so guests can try dishes like sarapatel (stew with pork meat and offal), stewed beef tongue, and rabada (oxtail with watercress)." - Rafael Tonon
Enjoyed a very delicious mixed Bahian Moqueca, a must for every Salvador trip, as well as the fried starter with oxtail, and a nice chat with Alex

Best seafood moqueca I’ve ever tasted!! The owner, Alex, is super friendly and his mother makes all the food from scratch — including the incredibly flavorful moqueca with fish and prawns. Generous portions and great prices. Don’t skip it!

The food was delicious, portions were perfect, and the service was AMAZING, Francisera (excuse my spelling) was so friendly and made the effort to speak English to us as we didn’t speak much Portuguese which was really appreciated, she was super tentative and made us feel so welcome, we love her! Defiantly recommend 💕

Really good food cooked by the owner's mum - and you can tell! We had a very tender and tasty picanha and a fresh, perfectly cooked seafood moqueca. The owner runs the restaurant and he's super nice and attentive. Unlike other places in Brazil, the food came in at a reasonable time. Owner speaks Spanish and English well. We highly recommend it!

Best meal we had in Salvador. Owner is friendly and welcoming- he is also able to explain the cuisine in English so it’s an excellent opportunity to learn more about technique as well as enjoy an amazing meal if you don’t speak Portuguese.

OMG! I walked to this place all the way from Praca de Se because of the good reviews and it was absolutely worth it. The vegan moqueca is perfectly flavorful, has tons of vegetables in it, and has the ever so slightly sour aftertaste that stays for some time after the food is gone. Highly recommend.
And the owner is very friendly and speaks English.

The food here is absolutely incredible and the family that runs it are genuinely wonderful people. Coming back as much as I can before my vacation ends.
