Cadet Wine & Beer Bar

‘Cool-kids’ bar in Napa (obviously 21 to 30ish bar). Moderate loud (but great) music, dark inside, and a great happy hour. Good wine selection, not a lot of draft selection or food. Indoor and outdoor area. Can most certainly recommend especially since it was one of very few places in Napa where I had a $4 drink (during happy hour). This is a great place to come with your partner and share a drink and booth, although the patio might work for larger friend-groups. Definitely not a place for families or kids. Can recommend.

We decided to host a welcome party for our wedding weekend at Cadet. We inquired about hosting a private party with Leah a few months prior, and the entire time leading up to the event day, she was extremely communicative, helpful, and friendly. She provided recommendations on how to structure food/drinks for a large group, as well as provided frequent updates. The day of the event, Leah and her team were set up for us before anybody arrived, which made it super easy for my wife and I to relax and enjoy our time with our friends and family without any stress. The service from Leah and her team was excellent, and the vibe of the wine bar was just so perfect for our group. Also, the small bites / canapes that were served were all delicious. Overall, we had a great time at Cadet, and would highly recommend stopping in for a glass of wine or hosting a private party here.

Easily the coolest wine bar in downtown Napa... if you’re wondering where all the cool kids are... they’re here drinking a really diverse and very thoughtfully put-together international wine list. All while listening to some groovy 80s new wave music bumping in the background. A very simple but delicious offering of small plates that pair beautifully with their wines makes this a great place to stop before or after dinner. High recommend.

I popped two Cadet for a pre-dinner drink, it was quite early but their happy hour is 5-6pm so the wine was half price. I opted for a Sauvignon Blanc and it was very good.

Great music, great drinks and great vibes. We had the champagne flight and wine flight. Servers were very knowledgeable and adjusted our flights to suit our preferences. A nice retreat from the other tasting rooms in Napa.

I am Asian. I know you guys are busy at night but it was very unfortunate that I was being ignored at bar seat. While I was sitting, bartenders passed me several times at the bar seat. Firstly he even took an order for customer(maybe his friend) who came later than me at same bar seat and the o other customer who also came later than me at bar seat. I tried to say ‘excuse me’ and waved right in front of male bartender (about 5’-7” with bald head) but he did not even look at me and ignored. I was sitting about 10 mins and I called them with waving then finally they took my order. It happened to me sometimes where I felt discrimination or ignorance of race at some places in different country, however, I was very disappointed by their attitude because Napa Valley is known as world famous wine valley and there are many decent asian wineries as well. But I felt this place was playing their league first without Asian tourists. I hope they will serve better equally for people without where they are from.

The tasting flights were fantastic. The bartenders were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Cool vibes and open late even after a lot of other places were closed.

Great place to get a drink and chill. We were walking around in downtown and I had heard about this place. The group was willing to try it. We were looking for a place with a great beer and wine list and they had it. Atmosphere was also very important to us. And Cadet has it. They were playing chill music and the place was happening. We sat outside and the staff periodically came to checkin on us. Great people, atmosphere and drinks. You can’t go wrong with this place.

Came here on a Saturday night for some drinks. Seating available inside and outside. We were able to get a small table in the corner which was nice. Great drink selection. We ordered at the bar but when it got busier, someone came around and took our drink order which was nice. Haven't tried the food but would def come back again in the future to try!

Came here with some friends on a Monday night and had an absolute blast! The ambience, the service, the food and drinks...100/10! Our group had the best time here. Our server Jose was so sweet (despite us being loud lol) and got us our food and drinks out in no time. I love the mood lighting here; it really adds a winding-down, relaxing vibe to the place. We ordered this chocolate panini with marshmallow whip, which was so freaking good! Overall, I very much enjoyed spending time with my friends here and would recommend this place!

WOW! What a cool place. We came out of a wine tasting somewhere else and they recommended us to spend some time there until dinner. So after walking in 105° heat we found that place, entered the well chilled place and found ourselves in this very vibe kicked place :) good wines, great service and nice folks! Thanks so much :-)

What happened to Cadet? It used to be a classy place to go for drinks with Chefs and people who understood the finner things in life. Now the place looks like a bad bottle rock after-party with terrible music, no ambiance, and lack of anything to visit again. So sad.......

Came here twice will in Napa. The first time I ordered the wine flight and you get your pick of 3 wines. My favorite was the cab, so the next time we came, I ordered that one twice. Super tasty. We came pretty early both nights, but by the time we left, it got packed. Great vibes. Definitely a great night spot.

Beer and wine? No problem. Dark, good music, nice looking people, indoor and outdoor settings, service is quick, drinks are affordable.. it gets crowded at night and is one of the few spots that are open really late, tucked in a clean and lit up alley. Its a very mature crowd and dress code was very casual. Nice place to hang out late night and is very clean, small and intimate place. I will return. We enjoyed the wine , music and nice atmosphere. We left at midnight and it was still crowded!

Enjoyed this spot for a few glasses of wine. As we finished we were given truffle popcorn and that was the perfect snack to finish our wine with.

Worst customer service in wine country. I'm local and went for a glass of wine after dinner with a friend on a busy Friday night, it took a full 20 minutes for any bartender to acknowledge us. That's 20 minutes of sitting at the bar, bartenders less then a foot away. Three bartenders, all equally rude and unwelcoming. The wine, ambiance & music were good, but the service tainted the experience. The proprietor should explain the importance of servers making eye contact with guests and greeting them. We understand if you're busy, but no one wants to pay to be ignored.

Went here after wine tasting to continue the ~ wine vibes ~ for the night. It was fairly empty when we got there but it took quite a while for the wine and meat/cheese board to come out. Decent white wine and paired well with the food. Liked the assortment they had for the platter but would have preferred the bread to be slightly less toasted since it was way too crunchy.

Cadet is AWESOME. Get a good start to your evening with their power hour menu! Definitely worth it. Service has been cool every time I've been there and the vibes are amazing at night. I highly recommend, as you can't go wrong with Cadet!

Chaotic but fun lol the night I went we were recommend by our air bnb host and it was a hilarious experience. Do note they only serve wine and beer, super crowded but it was cool overall when in NAPA lol

Cute little wine and beer bar! A very intimate place during the day and night for first dates or just any dates with your family/ friends! First, the ambiance of this place is super chills. So please don't bring any bad vibes here! The music they play fits perfectly well. Nothing too upbeat or too mellow. As soon as my sisters and I entered, we were immediately greeted with a menu and thankfully, we found a table! Note: this isn't a spacious place; it'll get packed in here. They do have outdoor seating but it's still too cold (Feb. 2020). We each got a wine flight ($20). Comes with your choice of three two-ounce wines: bubbles, whites, reds, rose. Unfortunately, I don't remember what I got, but to be completely honest, I only favored the third glass from the left. It was a white. They do have snacks such as cheese/ meat boards and/or paninis. They also have daily specials! Every day, this place does something! So I definitely recommend this wine and beer bar to anyone and everyone visiting or exploring the Napa area.

Love this place. The ambience is very nice and the staff friendly. We met Natalie and Alejandro and we had excellent service. The wine list is extensive and I enjoyed a wine flight.

During our last visit, we had major issues with service. The server asked for a card to start a tab, but at last call, a different server said he could only split the bill evenly. During this time, someone bumped into our table, and the full glass of wine he had just set down was knocked over and spilled all over my friends. The server was upset, and while he returned with another glass, he didn't clean up the broken glass or offer her anything to clean up with. I was upset by this and spoke to a manager who only handed me a towel. After all this, we thought we had sorted out the bill, but today, we discovered that we were all charged random amounts that did not equal the total, and my friend, who had the wine spilled on her, was charged twice. Very disappointing.

2 visits now...the first time was years ago and I really didn't know where I was. This recent visit i felt as if i had been here before and realized that I had!! we ordered a bottle of wine and just hung out ...this place seems to stay open later than neighboring bars (COVID)... friendly service... good volume ..music was there but we could still converse. the place is tucked away and not visible from the street. i'll remember it for next time!

This place! So many delicious sweets! I'm not big on sweets but this place most definitely triggered my sweet tooth and I was completely satisfied!

The most extensive, unique and diverse wine list in a downtown Napa . They recently partnered with Oenotri the Italian spot next door to serve the most delightful chacuterie boards! I love this place because it's where young wine industry professionals who live in Napa go to party! On Wednesdays, they host a winemaker, or regionally themed BTG tasting that is always new and interesting, often hosted by local winemakers themselves. I highly recommend stopping by Cadet after dinner in downtown Napa.

We dined here before our dinner reservation for drinks & some apps. We got two reds and a charcuterie board. The wine was great as was the appetizer. The ambiance of the bar was intimate & a good date spot. Service was good & prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back next time we're in Napa.

One of the places in downtown Napa that's open later. Great place to grab some drinks and appetizers with a fun, energetic ambiance! We got some wine and charcuterie, and when the olives ran out we were able to get extra olives and cornichons separately. Great service and fun hangout place!

Awesome vibe and a chill atmosphere. We had a Brown Estates wine flight while visiting. We enjoyed each pour and even added another three red flight option. I also added a beer. This place has top notch staff. We were a party of seven and didn't have to wait on much of anything. We will be back when we come back to Napa.

This place has a fun vibe and really nice outdoor area and space heaters in winter. But the wines were just ok. Fun vibe for getting together with friends but if you're into good wine you might be disappointed.

I've been here a few times only because Napa doesn't have much too offer after 10pm. Every-time I'm hoping I would find better drinks. Beer to wine. Majority of the selection is not great. The only thing great here is the environment.

Amazing service, wonderful wine selection, and honestly the best panini marshmallow fluff Nutella dessert ever. We ended up getting another.

Great service! We were recommended this place by one of the servers from a restaurant nearby. My friend only likes sweet wine, which they didn't have, but the bartender was determined to find her something that she would like. We settled with a black currant cider, and it was so good! They also have some small bites as well but we were too full from dinner. The ambiance is nice, and dark with a nice crowd. It is a little hidden from the main street but worth it. I will definitely return.

My new favorite place in Napa! It's a really fun atmosphere. I got the wine flight, can't remember which one .. but it was good :) server was friendly as well, always a plus!

It's a Thursday night, i didn't expect anything. After a forty-five minute uber to Napa i was dragged into what i thought would be a bust of a night. I ended up at Cadet, and here I am at 9:32pm. in a full bar. I'm on my second glass of wine listening to into you by Fabulous ready for my night to just start. If you're in Napa don't doubt a good time at Cadet. Having an open mind and thrill to have a good night was only enhanced here.

I've lived in Napa County for most of my life & have never heard about this place until recently. Came here the other night with a friend & it's pretty hip & to be honest with you, the ambiance is perfect. Friendly staff. The drinks are moderately priced for Napa. & the drinks they offer include a wide range of wines & beer -especially the local ones. I haven't been here during the day, but I've heard they offer plates & snacks in the afternoon hours. If you're in Napa, this is the place to be. Bring your friends & enjoy a few drinks. Plus, the music is always on point.

This place is cool. Great place to get a beer or glass of wine (x2?) and snacks! We love the mackerel and pickled onions and toast points. The outdoor seating area is creative and we appreciate the attentive staff. Also, the music is GREAT. It's fun to hang out in a space that is removed (but very close to) the busy-ness of First Street and yet has its own energetic pulse. This feels like a locals place where visitors are also completely welcome!

Stopped by for a glass of wine and had a bottle! Nice outdoor area and this rose was so great. The staff was great as well. Can't wait to be able to hang out inside since it looks really nice. This place is a bit hidden and worth looking for.

Fantastic selection of quality beers from around the country! Great choice of flavorful wines by the glass and bottle with a clean simple, yet purposeful, well thought-out selection of food.

I gotta say I've been really disappointed with this Bar. Although it's a great place to hang out and drink some great wine & beer. Recently I discovered my credit card was charged 15% more than what I had signed for. When I went to ask to see what happened. They told me it happens all the time and to just dispute it with my credit card. I'll never in good heart be able to recommend this bar to anyone one that comes into town. If you do check your credit card and take the receipt with you.

go here if you are willing to be judged by your age. We came trying to have a good time being 25-35 years old and witnessed the servers attending to the 50+ crowd intentionally quicker and better than us.

Service not acceptable for the area and price. We ordered a round then never saw our server again. We had to ask for service. Would not return.

Cool little bar off an alley way in downtown Napa. It's small, but they have a nice selection of interesting beers, wine, and ciders. The food was solid, as well. Intimate place, and I love that they have a turntable with records to dig through. It's quiet, it's small, and it's classy - not a dive by any stretch of the mind. I'd go back!

Being generous... stopped by for after-dinner drinks off a recommendation and was highly disappointed. Stars are for decor, the delicious pizza which came from Oenotri and the customer service potential (based off other reviews) which our group clearly didn't experience. We arrived well before closing, were seated at the bar, and the vibe felt like our bartender / server helped us because she had too. No real service, her wine recommendation we went with, was not enjoyable (quite the opposite for me). In fact, there seemed to be a mixup with what she recommended and what was served, but our small party of 3 didn't want to rock the boat. Yet, we should have spoken up. Such a disappointment for what we thought was going to be a great experience.

After a great dinner, the BF was really wanting a beer and so he ended up finding this place on Yelp. With a short stroll over to Cadet, we found ourselves seated at the bar and enjoying each other's company. The ambiance is chill and there were a few other people there besides us. The place itself is small but cozy. They have a record player and play some good tunes. I ordered a rose pinot noir wine and the BF went with an IPA he had never had before. We both enjoyed our drinks as we chatted among ourselves. They have meat and cheese selections to have with your alcohol of choice as well as various paninis to choose from. We didn't get to try any of it but I wish I did. I love meat and cheese boards! So I'll definitely have to try and make it back here someday. We enjoyed our booze and the ambiance.

I really liked this atmosphere of this place and the look. It has a nice outside area to drink and enjoy the weather. The drink options were good and I didn't mind trying new beers that I haven't had before. The pricing of the beers were a little crazy. 4 beers cost $50 which to me is a little overboard in price, but a once in a while trip there to get out and have good conversations with friends is fine.

Laura is the best bartender here! She deserves a raise or a manager position! Had a great time here just grabbing a beer after work and she has such a great knowledge of the menu and surrounding areas! One of the best spots in downtown Napa for sure!!

Their parties are so. much. fun. Go on a night when a DJ will be there! And drag queens! And dancing! And great snacks too.

We waited an hour for a literal......grilled cheese. A simple ass grilled cheese I could make in 2 minutes. We purchased drinks and had finished them well before we got our grilled cheese. There were so many people who got food before us it's insane. My group and I are from Sacramento, and we're younger and we got the vibe that they just didn't want us there because maybe our demographic. Not sure why honestly, but I'm genuinely pissed at how we were treated.

Such a cool hidden spot to enjoy beer, cocktail, but mostly wine with their large selection! Excellent wine flights! Went here on a Friday night last minute. It was packed but they got us a spot at bar quickly. Definitely not covid safe, but we were vaccinated. Such a cool place to check out when staying in Napa!

If I could give a zero rating I would, let me explain why: We came here today and were met with absolutely terrible service. First, we were told to sit down wherever we'd like--which was not an issue at all. However, after my party sat down three waitresses completely ignored us and did not come to serve us, let alone acknowledge or greet us. Further,--the icing on the cake if you will--they greeted and served a couple that came AFTER us and sat near our table and they moved the heater from our table to their table per couples request. We sat there for 25 minutes and were not even spoken to once. Will not return and will let my Sonoma & Napa folks know that this place is not worth wasting your time at because you will simply be sitting aimlessly and will not be spoken to. I have never bothered writing a yelp review before, but this place had such disappointing service--it was almost disrespectful. Save your money and time and go to Be Bubbly around the corner where the owners and staff care about their customers' experience in their establishment. Will never come here again and will make it a point to make sure my friends don't visit here either.

Chill wine bar! Great stop just to have a bottle of wine and chill. Festive for the holidays with friendly waiters. We grabbed some menus from the bar on a Friday evening, seated ourselves and picked out a bottle to indulge in. Wine was good, music/ambience were chill. Overall, a nice spot to hang out in while drinking a bottle of wine.
