The Best Spots for a Pre-Carnival Parade Bite on Canal Street

"Enter Harrah’s from Canal Street and the one sure thing to expect is good eats. That door is the portal to not one but two great steakhouses, a noodle bar, a few cafes for a quick bite, an Acme Oyster House and a buffet, if that’s your jam. Gordon Biersch, a brew pub with straight ahead American fare and Grand Isle, a wonderful seafood restaurant, are also under the Harrah’s umbrella." - Beth D'Addono

Love the casino but what made this a five star visit was Amanda and her phenomenal hospitality at the front desk. She was kind and remembered who we were. She is always smiling and made us feel welcomed. We stayed an extra day because of her great service. We can’t wait to come back.

I was passing through and had to stay at a different hotel because this establishment like many others in "The Big Easy" is not pet-friendly. Very disappointed in that but did win at slots. Started with $100 and lost it pretty quick so played another $100 down to $20 and hit a bonus twice on $1.60 bet, I played it down to $18 up bet to $ 2.50 hit a bonus for a $ 460.00 win left after that, I wanted to stay and play more but I had a pooch to get back to at my pet friendly hotel.

I love to stay here during my stay cations. It is reasonable and the staff is amazing. Not to mention, the rooms are very clean and beautiful. It is a great location, and restaurants are within walking distance. I like to try my luck from time to time at the casino.| I look forward to returning next month!

The minute that I walk through the revolving door, you know that you're entering a dimension of luxury. The front desk staff are always engaging and ready to greet you at check in, with genuine smiles and conversation. The rooms are so comfortable- - - and are the size of an efficiency apartment --- So spacious! There was a bath tub and shower in our room, options are great! If you're rolling thru The Big Easy -- go grab you a players card and see what generous rate you're offered. Oh, and that scent in the air --- what fragrance is it? Thank you Concierge, Room Service, Valet Staff, Housekeeping! I'll be back soon!

Google
First and foremost, what was known as the Harrah's is now called the Caesars - New Orleans and please make sure you know which hotel you are staying in because there are two very different and distinct entrances and you're almost made to feel like a peasant by the valets at the main Caesar's building if you're staying at what is still marginally called the Harrah's. It is very confusing but just know there are two very different locations. This place is on the corner of Poydras and Peters Street. The casino is no where near as nice as some Las Vegas casinos but that's not the reason you come to "The Big Easy" anyway so it's more of an observation than a criticism. The hotel is comfortable, although I was told by the woman at check in that I was to enter the elevator banks only on the right, which excluded one particular elevator, so I am not sure if that is the lift to heaven or what the reason was, but I didn't ask. I am certain there are upgraded rooms available but I did not bother with this option this time around. Valet parking here was fine and friendly and there were no issues during my visit. There are plenty of restaurants available both in the casino and within walking distance of the place and Bourbon Street was roughly 5 blocks away. The only things keeping this place from a 5 star rating is the rather confusing setup, the slightly rude valets at the main Caesars location (since it is shared location) and the fact that my "river view" room had only a very partial view of the Mississippi due to being on the south end of the tower, while the river was east of us. The overall value of the room was pretty good, other than the river view being less than what I expected. Special shout out to Kevian at the front desk who was amazing and went out of her way to help me with a minor issue. Kudos and thank you to her!

Excellent staff, service is great. Excellent front desk, bellmen and valet. Really enjoyed the asthetics of rooms and facilities. The design and professionalism is appreciated. The location is good to the Grench Quarter. The mattresses and showers are awesome. The cleanliness is choice. Total professionalism. My family had a very good time.

We were walking around the CBD (central business district) and hadn't had a chance to explore the Caesars casino as well. We aren't huge with going to the casinos in general yet wanted to see what's there! Beautiful establishment, seems really well maintained. On the outside, seems like a big place but it's not that huge once you get inside. As others have shared in the reviews, it seems like the place is under construction as some of the bars & restrooms are closed so guests are redirected to the ones open. Really nice sports betting/viewing area and some outside seating area on the slot machines, which is a nice touch.

Casino Traveler

Google
Nice upgraded all non-smoking casino. Not themed to New Orleans any longer since the updates.. but looks nice and fresh. Probably one of the nicer casinos outside Vegas. Staff seems to be happier and more friendly now. Fun place to hang.

Yelp
When we arrived, we were greeted by the Front Desk personnel and they checked us in. They were all friendly and efficient. We had reserved a suite for 4 nights so they put us in room 1002. The living room, bedroom, and bathroom appeared to be clean when we arrived. When we looked more closely, the room could have used a deeper cleaning. The carpet and tile near the walls showed dirt that wasn't being reached with the cleaning they do. It wasn't blatant, just noticeable after a while. There was also a hole in the wall in the living room where, perhaps, they had removed an older smoke alarm (there was another active one in the room) but hadn't bothered to patch up the wall. The living room was very spacious and we appreciated all that room since we were there for 4 nights. There was a tv, couch, dining table and chairs, and a small bar area with a fridge. The bedroom was smaller than their hotel rooms, which wasn't a big deal, and it had a big tv. The bathroom was really big - it had a tub, separate shower, 2 sinks, and the toilet had its own door. Housekeeping was by request only. They did not do any automatic cleaning so if you wanted anything, you needed to call down for it. There is no casual restaurant or coffee shop inside the hotel, just a steak place, so you'll need to explore the immediate area for something more casual. The parking garage is next door to the hotel and I think they count the restaurants on the street level of that building as part of the hotel. But the hotel is centrally located to a lot of options. The location of the hotel is great. We liked staying so close to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter without being in the middle of all the noise. It was a very short walk from the hotel. There is also an outlet mall just a block away as well. We'll stay here again next time we visit New Orleans.

Yelp
This is a review of the hotel. The hotel is centrally located in a very nice spot not too far from all the tourists spots and right across the street to the casino. Using our Diamond Plus statues we valeted our rental so I can't say how parking was for patrons that parked. The room was clean but not sparkling clean there was some stains on the baseboards and ceiling was pealing in the bathroom. (But I can get over that) Check in was not too bad but I can definitely see a need for more hospitality staff. Now here is where the 3 review comes in. CHECK OUT: I was unable to check out from the TV due to some error so I decided to make the effort to check out downstairs. The heavier set gentleman with a beard who I assume was a person in charge (since he was wearing a suit and tie) was completely no help. Just pretty much brushed me off and told me to stand in line. There should be a dedicated area for check out since on that day seemed like more employees were standing in back than working. But I will give positive remarks to the door workers and valet those people really have the southern hospitality that I was hoping for on this trip. All in all we did enjoy our trip and would happily stay again. Just a bit upsetting that our last day was not positive.

Yelp
I called Harrah's Casino and asked 1 question. Does Harrah's have a restaurant that serves breakfast? Not one Harrah's employee could answer an easy YES OR NO question. Not one FREAKING employee knew anything. I never experienced so much incompetence or stupidity in my entire life. Wow! What a cluster fucq! No wonder nobody visits that place

Yelp
We stayed here in October 2023, in a one-bedroom suite on the 25th floor. Suite - it was clean and well-equipped but needed to be updated (tear in sofa, old carpet, etc). Two thermostats, one in bedroom, one in living room. Room has a doorbell, dining table, big-screen TV, couch and chair, bar with a sink and mini-fridge. Bedroom had a king bed, closet, safe, USB chargers on the nightstands. Bathroom was well-equipped and clean with a seperate soaker tub and small shower, double sinks, shelves, and a water closet with a toilet. Our biggest problem was the lack of water pressure in the shower (sometimes it would reduce to just a trickle) and the inconsistency in temperature (every shower we took, it went from hot to cold to hot again). Overall, the suite was quiet and the view of the river was nice. There is not a dedicated Diamond/Seven Stars check-in lounge. There is no pool. Front desk was well-staffed and staff were knowledgeable and attentive. Casino - the casino was nice for a Harrah's property that's not in Vegas. Plenty of slots, video poker, table games, a sportsbook, high rollers area, and a bar. It took forever to get drinks at the bar (no free drinks for Diamond members like some of the other properties) and there was only one waitress we saw working on the weekends and she never came to the slots where we were playing. It seems they are quite understaffed. Overall, the machines were well maintained but the ones that weren't working did not work the entire time we were there. Security was present and there didn't seem to be a lack of security. Inside the casino there is a Swarovski kiosk and little gift shop. There's an underground tunnel between the hotel and the casino so you don't have to walk outside, and in this tunnel you can get a chair mssage if someone is staffed. There's a nice little food court inside the casino with burgers, pizza, pastries, creole food, and pho. There's also a steakhouse accessible from the hotel lobby. The casino is non-smoking (much appreciated!) and there is an outdoor patio with slots for those who want to smoke. There is some construction going on inside the casino but it wasn't intrusive. Valet - easy, free for Diamond and Seven Stars, and there's also a taxi stand just outside the valet entrance. The entire time we were there, there were standing taxis. Location - very good. Close to Riverwalk, trolley stop, French Quarter, Superdome, Warehouse District, Saks Fifth Avenue, French Market, and it has its own Hop On Hop Off bus stop. Just far enough away from the more active streets in the FQ that it's convenient and walkable but not too busy. We were there with a large group and some people stayed in other hotels. The closest hotel is the Hilton Riverwalk (which you can see in the photos of the view). There's a Drago's in that hotel but we ate there and I don't recommend it.

Yelp
When you're in NOLA, you can only eat and drink so much (trust me). There's plenty to do and walk around and see, and the casino is a nice oasis from the outside world. They have plenty of slots, some places to eat and drink, and It's a good size and a little bit of a walk from Bourbon Street. We stayed at a hotel that was a little closer and walked over to it. But we had much more fun going to different parts of the city and partaking in shopping, drinking, ribaldry, fine dining and junk dining. I will say if you're coming to New Orleans BECAUSE of Harrah's, you're probably doing it wrong.

Yelp
So I was a little bit concerned, seeing all the bad reviews but our stay was perfect. the staff was friendly, we were on our anniversary trip and we told them and they upgraded us to an amazing suite on a high floor so we were able to see views of the river and city. our room was clean it was a bit dated but who cares we had a blast.

Yelp
As a Caesars rewards member I have visited most of their properties throughout the country and by far Harrahs New Orleans is one of the best maintained of the bunch. First things first the service is always excellent. Anytime you are entering the property you are guaranteed to be met with a warm welcome from the staff and to me those little things are important. We arrived this past Friday at 2am from Los Angeles and prepaid ahead of time so once we arrived we just went to front desk to pick up our keys which was super convenient. There are several dining options on site and if those don't tickle your fancy there are tons of other options in the nearby business district. One of the best perks of being a rewards member are the free drinks. I forgot my guys name at the sports bar but he took care of me, even letting me get casamigos reposado for my free drink. On the casino side I tend not to gamble as much here because I notice I never do well here and I feel like their machines are tighter than a v@!gin on prom night lol. This last trip was confirmation for me so more than likely I wouldn't gamble here in the future. Luckily there is so much other stuff going on in New Orleans that I don't have to waste a whole trip away gambling. I am excited to see the completed transition into Caesar's Palace. They are deep into the renovations and it looks nice so I'm sure the finished product will be impressive. Rooms can be a bit pricey here so I don't know if I would come back if I didn't get free rooms but it's definitely a nice getaway with a great central location.

Yelp
Stayed at Harrah's during Mardi Gras. Could not decide between Lowe's and harrah's. Finally chose Harrah's. What a mistake. The hotel is dirty, cigarette burns on the couch, the vanity marble was cracked and room was not cleaned properly. The hotel did change our room, the second room was at least clean. The hotel management did not seem to care about the lack of maintenance or the cleanliness of their property. Could be a really nice hotel with professional management.

Shelley A.

Yelp
Terrible hotel. Customer service is zero. Rude and unapologetic front desk staff. Many issues with the room. Had to demand to be changed to another room when the first had no hot water and I was told to run all the faucets for 10mins as a solution. That didn't work. Moved to another room and that had issues but I didn't want to call anyone and get an attitude from the staff. No hot water Broken curtains that would not close 3 tiny cushions for pillows Broken mirror Holes in sheets Southern hospitality does not exist in this hotel. Everyone needs to take a customer service refresher course. Will not be returning and quite frankly has put me off of staying in another Harrahs. Very poor management and it shows in the staff and the way they treat their paying guests!!!! Would give zero stars if I could
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
If i could give it zero stars I would . The toilet was broken the suites hardwoods had mold on them . Must had water damage . There was mold in the shower. Every time you tried to call to the front desk or house keeping they would never answer. The phone would ring off the hook till it disconnected the line and made you call again. The staff is all rude . To busy playing on their phones and hanging out and talking to each other instead of helping their guests . You could not pay me money to stay here. You get assigned a VIP concierge and when you asked for extra soap or towels or even water they say yes but no one ever brings it to the room. If they don't do something quick they will go under. I'm surprised people even stay there.
google avatar

Yelp
Win some, lose some, I definitely left with more in my pockets than when I came in. Had some fun at the sports book, had a hoot at the roulette wheel. Lost a shirt I came in wearing & woke up late the next day missing my train to Texas All in all over the years I'm probably about even.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
Short Review: I was not here very long, but wanted to gamble before mankind my way down Canal Street. It was relatively early in the day and wasn't very crowded. I lost all the cash I had on me, but still had a decent time here. I struck up a conversation with the security guard when she saw I was from NY, but she was the sole staff member I had contact with. The casino was very dim and seemed dreary-- not the welcoming atmosphere that I'm used to from a casino. I'm not sure if that's because it was early and not packed or whether that's just the standard. Hopefully next time I come, I'll actually win some money and get to patronize the Fuddruckers that was in the back. We don't really have any of those near me back home!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Harrah's Casino off of Canal Street is low-key compared to other casinos. Security is at the doors checking ID unless you look significantly over 35 years. It's clean inside, non-smoking, and plenty of gaming opportunities. Quiet food court in the middle section gives you 3 choices of fast food if you don't want to find a restaurant. I really enjoyed my visit to this casino.
google avatar

Paula C.

Yelp
Every time I come here I gave the best time. It's always clean and well kept. There's a designated smoking area outside so I don't stink the moment I walk in. It's always just the right amount of fun with out being too crazy. Thanks for a great time!
google avatar

Karen R.

Yelp
Clean friendly service. Easy access to casino. Easy access to transportation. Uber and Lyft easy accessible. Walking distance to Mississippi River.

Pauline B.

Yelp
Asked for room service....no one came...asked for clean sheets and blankets "no we don't have any blankets".. after calling twice, finally got two flat sheets to change the bed myself. My Comforter has multiple dried blood spots, old makeup's stains and some "brown" substance on it and still cannot get a clean set of sheets, blankets. Still currently staying here, but it's definitely not a place I would comeback to.. and don't really feel clean sleeping in the bed at all. Ive never stayed in a hotel where you cannot get clean sheets/ room service. Even in high school when hanging at a "motel" for fun we could get better service than what I've reviewed here.

Diana D.

Yelp
Upon check-in, they overcharged my credit card $11638. I got an "oops"...not an apology. They reversed the charge on their end but never sent it to the credit card. This "oops" locked my card the whole time I was there and the credit card company said the hold will remain for 10 days (then fall off) Rice Harrahs never processed the reversal. The manager did nothing...he was too busy flirting with the girl who made the mistake. We got a long speech about housekeeping -how they won't clean unless requested. Got to the room and found 3 outlets hanging from the wall. Tried to turn on the entry light and it sparked. Light bulbs burned out in the bathroom. There was fresh chocolate smeared into the chaise lounge (or, I assume it was chocolate). The layer of dust on the coffee maker looked like it hadn't been wiped in months. Don't know what kind of filth was all around the bathroom door handle so we avoided touching that door. No other rooms available, all other hotels booked for the conference in town, no available credit on our card to use anyway, no offer to clean, no offer to compensate (even with a dinner at their in-house restaurant). Nope. We will never stay at a Ceasers/Harrahs...ever. The expectation should not be for the customer to assume something will go wrong. The expectation for customer service it that they will make it right if they are at fault. That is the expectation the customer pays for.

Yelp
Arrived at the hotel in New orleans in the attention and after an extended wait at the front desk as they had only one person available I was assigned room 1518 Went to my room and noticed several stains on the carpet including a large one that looks like excrement Went to a business dinner but notified the front desk at 6:30 am the next morning big providing pictures of the unacceptable room I also requested setvice for the day I was told it would be addressed At 3 pm went to my room to find nothing had been done and proceeded to the front desk again I was told a file had been created with the picture supplied abd that service would be done Again I notified the front desk again at 6:25 pm before dinner sane answer as before Came back k from dinner at 10 pm to find nothing had been done Called or tried to call the stint desk but no one answered for 39 minutes then the called dropped twice Horrible customer service abd lack of diligence this is a hotel that had no desire to take care of its customers Absolutely upset and discounted with what I had to face

Yelp
Always a good time at Harrahs! My first time at this location and it didn't disappoint. Decorated nicely for Xmas. Gambled a but at the slots and bet on some football.

Yelp
Location Excellent the right spot for anything Clean helpful staff. Room Clean spacious & the maids were wonderful! Don't sleep on this gem!! Outcome Yes would go back again, thank you for being available to our needs!

Chris K.

Yelp
Decided to splurge on a hotel room for our anniversary trip. We were genuinely disappointed. The public areas of the hotel are absolutely filthy. The room was only marginally better. The bed was comfortable, and the space was decent, the furniture was badly stained and gross, there were literally dirty footprints on the walls, and the towels were threadbare and falling apart. Electrical covers hanging off the wall. I've stayed in cleaner Motel 6's.

Yelp
Mar.20-24,2023: Birthday getaway. Our first time staying at the Harrah's location. Check In was smooth and we got a River view.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Disgustingly dirty, staff, management, Hospitality all -1. If I was able to rate them less than one star I would. 4 days with ZERO housekeeping, clean towels 8 hour wait, shampoo and conditioner go see the front desk. Sad to say other 3rd world countries have better hotels.
google avatar

Joe Z.

Yelp
Food court, pizza cake, one person working, line a mile long, so I went to the hot dog stand, it was open nobody working. Where is management?
google avatar

Stacey T.

Yelp
What in the world is going on at this place? There is a horrid smell in the lobby, smells like rotten brussels sprouts. The rooms smell too. Was on the 25th floor and listened to banging pipes every night. I got a call on my 2nd night, stating it was in relation to my broken safe door. My room didn't have a safe. This was very concerning, so as I asked further questions to understand how they got such a request, the girl hung up on me. Never going back. The sheets and towels were super old, need to be replaced.
google avatar

Stephen K.

Yelp
Employees stoic, no drink service slot machines defiantly not loose didn't see anyone winning..... was gonna stay longer but lost the vibe in this place something has changed and it isn't me...
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! This Harrah's is huge! We wanted to check out the casino and only walked through since we had a short stay in Nola, but we were impressed by how clean it was! They do check your vaccination card when you enter. There weren't many people in the casino when we went in on a weekday evening. We could not smell any smoke. The casino seems to be well maintained. Whenever I return, I'd consider getting a room here based off of what I had seen in the casino.
google avatar

Jazmin V.

Yelp
I loved every minute with this hotel! I was able to use the app booking.com and found this awesome place! It was near a lot of the main spots and a casino! We stayed for 3 days so it was awesome to. Be near so many awesome places so that we could visit as many as we could while we were visiting. The rooms were clean! The restroom was clean. The tub and shower were clean! The only thing I can say is the front desk staff was a hit or miss who you get. Some were nice and some were looking like they hated their job. It is busy I get it, but come on if you got happy customers, feed off their vibes and be happy with them. Life is too short. I will definitely be returning soon!

Yelp
After looking for months for a location for my first vacation in almost two years I came across pictures of Harrahs in New Orleans. The pictures were so nice and I decided to take a leap and book. To my horror when I got there it was absolutely disgusting and ran down. Stains and scuffs on wall, door, furniture and floors. Not to mention mold in the shower, melted/broken hairdryer and who stores the coffee maker in the bathroom. The bathroom vent (which did not work) has so much on it that it obviously has never been wiped clean ever. There was even a greasy hand print on my wall. I have never EVER in my life written a bad review but this is how upset I was. $1300.00 for a few nights down the drain because there is no pride obviously in your "high end" hotel. I would have left the first night if I would have been reimbursed my money but with a 48hr cancellation policy that was out of the question. I took pictures of EVERYTHING if anyone is even interested which I'm sure will fall on deaf ears and blind eyes as everything else has there. It's heartbreaking and so disappointing. As for the casino lol which I call it very loosely....don't get thirsty because I was there not just 1 night gambling but 4 nights in a row. Spending A LOT of time gambling every one of those nights and did not get asked if I was doing okay or needed a drink. NOT ONE TIME. I have traveled the world and been to many high end resorts and casino's throughout but will definitely remember this and not in a good way. I don't offend easily but I am at this point. If I could leave zero stars I would.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
The hotel is in need of many upgrades (maybe even a total remodel). The room was dated, the carpet was stained and there was dust everywhere even though the room was "just cleaned". We were 12 floors up and could hear all of the street noise below. Along with that you can hear the elevators running in the room....all day and night. There was rusting on the fixtures in the room as well as the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, the water temperature was crazy to deal with. Depending on which floor was taking a shower, flushing the toilet or running water in the sink the water temperature would take dramatic swings from hot to cold to boil your skin! There was no housekeeping/turn down service unless requested (we were told this during check in). There is also only 1 dining option in the hotel (Ruth Chris Steakhouse) so you have no option but to leave the property to get something to eat. I'm fairly certain these issues will be addressed when the new tower opens across the street but in the mean time there are obvious issues with the hotel. Slots were TIGHT!! It didn't matter if we played in the high limit or on the floor the slots were very tight compared to the properties in Las Vegas. I'm sure we'll be back after they've finished remodeling the casino and adding the new tower (hotel rooms).

Maprail M.

Yelp
Pitiful experience at Harrah's New Orleans. Extremely overpriced. Probably one of the most expensive stays I've ever had. Service was terrible. Was told at checking that room service was not available. Room key didn't work and had long lines to get that corrected. Waited close to an hour to get car out of valet. Room was old and could use a total refurbish. Also room did not feel clean or fresh
google avatar

Yelp
I'm currently staying at Harrah's and it's a disgrace. I've been there since Sunday and today is Wednesday, no room service to clean after multiple calls. I have to constantly call for towels, multiple times a day. The toilet handle is broken. The wallpaper is peeled off.

Brian K.

Yelp
Harrahs or ( Ceasars) casino is hands down the WORST casino I've ever been in my life. I an yet to see a single person hit a jackpot. Nor have I even come close to hitting anything above 5 fucking Dollars.. absolute garbage.

Teresa T.

Yelp
will never come back!! We like to take a couple trips a year to gamble. This place is awful! Doesn't matter how long you gamble or how much you're spending here, expect to pay around $15 a drink because there's NO ONE coming around to bring you a comped one. And management doesn't care. We'll take our business else where! You have such an opportunity and blowing it! So many people walking out and they literally could care less. Do better Caesar's!!

Yelp
Just went in for a little slot time. Broke even. Can't ask for much more than that. Waitress came by one declined a drink and she never came back.

Yelp
This hotel is in a fantastic location at the edge of the French Quarter on Poydras. Within walking distance of everything including the street cars if you want to get to the Garden District. There a big outlet mall just behind it on the river and the Warehouse District has some of the best restaurants in the city these days since legendary places like Emeril's NOLA and K Paul's closed during the height of the pandemic and never reopened. The King room was spacious and had a very elegant bathroom (almost identical in I the ones at Caesar's in Las Vegas.) but there was some wear an tear on the wood shelf that needed some attention. The bed was very comfortable. The furniture was worn out and pretty shockingly disgusting (see pics). Looks like stuff you would expect in a roadside motel - not what should be a higher end hotel chain or property. I also found the hotel staff in the front of the house pretty unfriendly - while there were a a couple of nice and helpful guys in valet. They seemed just "over it". If it were in a less convenient location, it would have been a 2 for me because of the customer service and condition of the room furnishings.

Yelp
Several of the video poker games were offline. The staff seemed more confused than helpful. I was very saddened there wasn't a single video keno machine.

Yelp
You would be pretty shocked this is a caesers property. First off, the room had a smell, the ice machine was broken, the refrigerator was frozen over, the safe was broken and the ceiling had cracks. The bathroom was very nice though. The casino is separate from the hotel which I was a little surprised by. So if you are looking for a fun lobby scene, you aren't going to get it. For the price you pay, you can get a much nicer room elsewhere and just walk to the casino. Wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
We started off with an extremely rude front desk clerk. And it continued once we were in our rooms and needed our luggage. We called the bell desk and it rolled over to the front desk. Mz Personality answered and said if we need our luggage we would have to come down and find our own. Not only is that completely wrong for safety and security but also a HUGE liability for te He hotel. Then we went to Ruth Chris for dinner to be told at check out that they are not part of Caesars.

Yelp
I arrived to New Orleans very early in the morning and first stop was breakfast. While I was having breakfast I figured it wouldn't hurt to text the concierge number at Harrahs hotel that initiated conversation with me. I questioned if it would be possible to check in so early. They stated for a $30 fee they absolutely could get me checked in. I finished breakfast and walked over to the hotel where they stated I actually can't check in yet but I'll receive a call before noon to get in, if not before 4pm. If I got in after noon but before 4 it would only be $15. I got a call 30 minutes before 4, probably just so they could charge me. I understand I'm not entitled to check in early, but I also shouldn't be told initially I could absolutely check in early when asking initially. The room itself was relatively clean compared to the city. Paint was flaking off the ceiling, the sink in the bathroom had the cold water handle broken and facing the mirror, stains all over the backboard. It wasn't necessarily awful, but left a lot to be desired. The lobby itself always smelled bad, and the lobby restroom had an incredibly nasty stench. It wasn't all too clean and my girlfriend told me the women's was just as bad if not worse. The staff was friendly, we had our room marked for no room service but they dropped off clean towels for us anyways which was very thoughtful. Mr Syl was very friendly when storing our bags for us when we checked out. Made things personable and probably the best interaction we had with people in NOLA all trip. Probably will not return because NOLA seems to have declined overall from where it was pre-COVID. If I return it won't be until the new upgrade/rebrand of Harrah's by Caesar's.

Yelp
I came here to play keno. Someone in their infinite wisdom had ALL KENO machines removed from the entire casino. Wtf. So if you like keno and that's all you play then they are saying play somewhere else. The do have Pennie's and poker. But silly a Caesars property got rid of keno.

Yelp
Hurrahs was way nicer than I expected. The Vegas one is a bit dowdy. This one is super clean and smells fresh. Many fun slots and tables. We played craps for awhile and the drinks kept coming which was nice. They also have a bar but it closed early so it was annoying looking for a place to grab a drink.

Yelp
I've stayed all over NOLA and this by far has been my favorite stay to date. Brandon, the manager was very kind and helpful with helping me book a room and making sure my family and I were all comfortable. All of the staff was polite and the rooms are nice. We went to a restaurant on site and the food was amazing. A Plus is we're attached to the casino and not too far From food places and the French quarter.

Yelp
Easily the worst hotel experience, ever. We had a large corporate event in January, and the hotel staff couldn't have been any less hospitable, professional, or responsive. The hotel events floor (2) was _filthy_ when we arrived - we wound up having to clean it ourselves, including literally mopping floors, scrubbing walls & surfaces, and mucking out the elevators - because Housekeeping refused to clean anything. Not exaggerating - they literally _refused_ to clean anything, stating it wasn't their job to clean the events floor. Despite repeatedly asking for housekeeping, the best we got was them giving _us_ the mop & bucket and removing the trash we bagged for them. We had booked a block of rooms months in advance, and we still had to wait until late into the night before rooms were available for the majority of our attendees. The special access room we booked for a decorated war veteran who needs wheelchair access was refused to us for an hour - even though we'd reserved it 2 months in advance, and paid a deposit. Calls requesting things like towels (some rooms had NO towels, others had only hand towels), blow dryers, plumbing issues, or clean sheets were unsuccessful for the entire week we were there. Requesting bell help with carts carrying boxes between floors were met with overt hostility. The hotel manager finally came to help literally the last hour, and even he admitted he couldn't get his staff to help because, and I'm quoting, they didn't "want" to. It was the most bizarre, disgusting, disrespectful experience. We will NEVER use nor recommend a Caesar's property again.

Yelp
I found the front desk staff less than welcoming and not personable. Customer service doesn't appear to be a priority which, is disappointing since guest relations is paramount in the hotel industry. I've stayed at other Harrah's Casino's properties and by far customer service here is the worst. I expressed my concerns to Mark, the hotel concierge. Looking at other negative reviews of this hotel I was unable to find any responses from the owner(s) yet there were several " automated boilerplate responses" for 4 & 5 star reviews? I would recommend finding another hotel if you view customer service a critical part of your travels.

Yelp
It was first time in NOLA, I was super excited to go to this casino. It was sleazy and a total tourist trap. Do not go to this casino. Even though gambling is fun and there are no other options in the area, I guarantee you will leave this place feeling like you were taken advantage of. I won money and left feeling like I was scammed. They have a monopoly of the area and could care less about the people who want to support their business...avoid this place like a plague!!!
